Nice property, so convenient. Great view of the riverfront. Right next to the Mississippi River Museum and the Diamond Jo casino. Waterpark is very young focused, probably under 12, small but very nice. Breakfast was large and well stocked.

Continental breakfast very limited options, not enough good and area was dirty. Water park also dirty with exposed rust on the structures. Rooms and halls very dated, with holes in walls, ripped wallpaper, and old dirty carpet. Furniture is all scuffed and dinged. The staff was kind and friendly.

The breakfast is not worth eating...eggs looked like the ones boiled in a bag that are full of chemicals. The room walls and furniture are quite worn and beat up. A BIG Plus was that the mattress was Very comfortable and had a good night rest unlike all other hotels. I have Never had a good night sleep like at this hotel. Excellent location to the convention center for our dance competition. I will stay here again despite the negatives. Hopefully they remodel by next year.

We stayed on a Tuesday night because my 8 year old son didn't have school on Wednesday. This was supposed to be a special trip for him as a reward for doing well in his new school. When we arrived we were told the water park and pool were closed and always is during the week. I did not see that advertised or posted anywhere while making my reservation. That was very disappointing for all of us. The reservation also said there was a Continental breakfast but we were given a brown bag breakfast with a frozen sandwich, apple and granola bar. Not what we were expecting so we then had to go out for breakfast. My reservation also said there was a separate bedroom in our suite and there was not. It was a very small room but it did have the correct number of beds. Overall we were disappointed.

Our room needed some work. Bad showerhead, busted door, lamps didn’t work, and a constant beeping we found was coming from the air duct in the hallway. The waterpark was nice, staff was nice. Breakfast was limited to scrambled eggs only because of our gluten allergy. Overall ok for a short stay.

Came to stay during the week. There were only 3 cars in the parking lot when we arrived. Kind of strange vibe at first being the only ones in the hotel. The staff was very accommodating and friendly upon check in and check out.
Our room was very dated but had a really nice view of the river. Also kept very clean.
I can see why families would enjoy their stay. Affordable and lots of amenities for children.
The breakfast was very processed, no fresh fruit or even milk to add to coffee but there was hot food and some cereal and yogurt to choose from.

The breakfast was not hot or in the breakfast room. It was cold muffins no coffee and oranges. Very disappointed as pictures were eggs, sausage, bacon, juice etc.. hotel also charge me for the full hotel fee even though it was prepaid. Causing an interrupted trip to resolve the billing. Expected better. Hotel clean, bed comfy, air quality in room exceptional and great water pressure.

The rooms was great the hotel was nice the only bad thing was the breakfast no toast or English muffins and it was 6:30 and the staff said it would be a couple of minutes and we didn’t even see that employee again and finally someone got up from there table and got food everything was full but they said it wasn’t ready yet.

I resreved 2 rooms for my grandkids and i didnt know you couldnt pay cash for the rooms. So i had enough on my debit card to pay for 1 room but we had to many people to stay in 1 room we had 3 adults anda9year old 2 year old and 4month old so we had to have 2 rooms so i gave my sons girlfriend money to put on her cash app card so we could pay for the other room. Well by the time we had the money they already sold my other room and since i went through expedia both rooms was suppose to be 280.77. By the time we got done dealing with this problem they put the other room in my sons girfriends name so she had to pay full price.so it cost me $190 for my room and $ 309. For the other room. Then when we checked out the manager said oh it was like that cause we couldnt findthe other room reserved which was bull cause ive called and texted to try to get a joining room cause my two year old grandson likes to run around and they still didnt give us a joining room and she was able to find the room when i didnt have the money at that moment cause she told me they werent conjoining. They messed up with us big time and the people behind the desk was NOT helpfull either. But guarantee i will have money on my debiy card to pay for hotel room on my next trip and it wont be there thats for sure!!!!!

Wonderful stay for the price. Kids loved the water park. It was a $5 day for those not staying at the hotel..so it was packed, but not overly crazy. This was a Thursday evening. Elevator wait time was super long, which was annoying. You stopped every floor with a full elevator so never felt like you were getting where you needed to go. Free breakfast was super nice but very little seating for the amount of people that were there on a weekday. The line to get food got ridiculous the last hour it was open, people were waiting in line for a really long time. There are a lot of ways this process could be run more efficiently. We had considered staying an additional night, however when we realized how much busier the weekend was looking to be we didn’t want to deal with even worse wait times in pool/elevators/food. Highly recommend on a slower night though!

Our stay was Easter weekend. Front Desk was helpful, efficient, and friendly. Waterpark was the reason for this stay. Have stayed at this facility a couple of times previously. Included breakfast was O.K. Door to Riverwalk was locked for re-entry at 9:30 AM on the day of checkout. Stopped at Tony Roma's twice during our visit. Orders from the bar were very, very slow.

For the price we paid (under $100), the room was clean, comfortable, and better than expected. We were on a family road trip, so we only stopped for 9 hours to stretch our legs and get some sleep. The staff when we checked in was friendly. The mini fridge and microwave were great (we emptied our cooler for the night). The view from our window was beautiful. The only down side was we all found the pillows uncomfortable. We enjoyed watching a little TV before heading back out on the road.

Summary: Won’t be back and I highly recommend you give it a miss on a $5 day (if the waterpark is open- make sure to check their calendar on their website).

Good: Our room was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was great.

Bad: The waterpark itself is in dire need of updating (their social media says this will happen in fall 2026). It also seems that like the amenities are severely undersized- there were 50+ people waiting in line at breakfast, nowhere to sit, the lobby was packed as soon as we walked in. When we went to the waterpark, there were far too many people. The hot tubs were packed and often times had nowhere to sit, kids were waiting in line for a raft to go down the slide to then go wait in a line with 25 kids to go down the slide for 10 seconds. The lazy river was packed with tubes and kids walking. The line to go down the slide where the bucket is took 10 minutes to get through. We went to the waterpark for an hour, debated leaving the hotel, and left in the morning.

I had a very disappointing stay at Grand Harbor Resort. I was moved to three different rooms within the first 12 hours of my stay due to the heat not working in my first room. I was told I would not be charged for my first night, but at checkout, the hotel refused to make it right and I was charged the full amount. After returning home, It was almost impossible to speak to a live person when I called and they again refused to do anything to make my experience right. I will not be staying at this hotel again.

Our room was very clean and had lots of tv channels. Staff were friendly. Hot breakfast was good and staff quickly replaced empty items. The waterpark is smaller and good for kids under 12. There are a couple days of things for families to do within 20 minutes - river museum, incline elevator, caves and Galena, Illinois. We were there on 5 dollar public entry day and the wait for an inner tube for the waterslide was too long. This was not an issue the last time we were there on a regular day.

Loved our visit, pool floor has been resurfaced and feels nicer. Lifeguards are well staffed and actually use their wissles. Breakfast seating is always an issue but delicious, we ate in our room. My family and I went for 2 days and one night, absolutely do not pay to stay at this place during a $5 waterpark entry day, we couldn’t use the waterpark at all, the elevators had insane lines and our rooms were on the 6th and 7th floors. Then we woke up to get breakfast and the line again was insane, we had to stand and eat outside of the eating area because the amenities were so small. The stay was so bad that after our awful breakfast experience we decided to leave rather then wait for the waterpark to open, then to read on Facebook that not even a hour after it opened they had closed down admission due to reaching capacity. I hope doing that pays off to act like the waterpark is for the town and not the people that are paying full price to stay and use the things people are getting to use for $5.

The room itself was okay. Very outdated though and the curtains could use a wash or two. I didn’t want to touch them. The bed was comfortable and clean which was good. The hotel could use some updating and fresh paint. It was way overcrowded. You couldn’t get a luggage rack. You had to wait forever to get on an elevator. You couldn’t even sit down in the waterpark or get a tube to go down the slides. We also couldn’t get breakfast the next morning because there were SO many people. It also was so noisy. The walls are paper thin. We could hear full conversations from the room next to us. We will not be staying here again.

Waterpark was closed, so that was a bummer and not advertised on Expedia. But the main concern, was the fire alarm went off at 3am and the entire hotel had to evacuate. There was something wrong with the alarm in my room, as it emitted a typical loud fire alarm sound-but for some reason, it also emitted an extremely high pitch sound that was the loudest thing i have ever heard in my life. As I write this the next day, my ears are still ringing horribly. The sound of the alarm after 5 mins of trying to frantically get out of the building while cupping my ears in my room, likely has done permanent damage to my hearing in some

Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Both my son in law, and I almost slipped in the tub while showering. Granddaughter fell in tub. They need to install some sort of anti slip surface in the tubs.Our room was very dusty as well as behind the microwave and night stand. The water park needs painting and repair. The baby pool slide had a large chipped landing which can easily cut your feet if not careful. Its a very rough landing. Price was good, but you get what you pay for I assume.

We booked this because of a dance competition. We purposely purchased Friday - Monday so that my kids could go the Waterpark on Monday their only day free after the long weekend of competing. Nothing said it’d be closed in fact we received a paper at check in saying it was open. Only to find out it was closed at 4pm Sunday and not open at all during the week. What is the point of a waterpark hotel if you’re not even open? The rooms were very mediocre and were not very clean. The hotel has so much potential if only they tried a bit harder. What a bummer!

The room was very drafty. Air was leaking from where the AC/heater was mounted through the outside wall. The 1am fire alarm was a nice touch. One of the beds was all wonky and falling off the frame. The water park was a tetanus hazard waiting to happen. I’ve never seen so much rust! One of the pool areas was closed. For the price, a trip to Wisconsin Dells would be a better idea. The breakfast was meh.

The waterpark is only open on the weekends if i wouldve known this i wouldn't have booked it during the week this needs to be told to other travelers as others during my stay complaining about this. The water park was a lot of fun. They have several arcade games at this hotel. The free breakfast on the second floor was great. The only negative thing about breakfast was, they didn’t have waffles. My kids love waffles. I personally enjoyed the scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits & gravy. They also had cereal & milk. The rooms were nice and spacious. Gorgeous view of the river from the 6th floor. They cleaning staff were amazing, helpful, and super friendly.

The hotel rooms are a little dated, but we come for the waterpark and don't spend too much time in the room anyhow so it works. The waterpark is clean. I wish there were more chairs lined up around the edges of the room. All of the tables get taken up pretty quickly which leaves you putting your things on the wet ground. If there were just extra chairs around that would be better. All of the staff were very polite and provided excellent customer service. The arcade was fun too, but several games were down when we went. Tony Roma's restaurant inside the resort is top notch. All of the food we ordered was amazing. We make this trip once a year and will continue to come back.

There was a lack of places to set our belongings in our room so we had to put everything on the floor and ALOT of cobwebs in our hotel room. Our bathroom sink leaked terribly when using hot water and the shower head also leaked so bad it got the bathroom soaked every time no matter how we tried to manage it.

We stayed here for a dance competition at the convention center, and the convenience of going directly from the hotel to the convention center was amazing. That made the stay much easier.

The hotel was more expensive than others nearby. The water park was okay and clean, but you can tell it’s older. The metal under the slides is pretty rusted, which was a little concerning. Even though it was busy, the lines were surprisingly short.

Our shower didn’t drain properly, but staff fixed it quickly, which we appreciated. The bed was harder than I prefer and my back was hurting after two nights. We were also told checkout was 11, but housekeeping knocked at 10 trying to clean the room. Breakfast did not have many options, we ended up going else where for breakfast.

Overall, the convenience was the biggest plus.

Staff were friendly. Entire property was a bit run down and in need of serious updates. Chipped drywall and peeling paint in hotel rooms, torn curtains. Found candy, garbage, and stains in room upon check in. Water park is a tetanus shot waiting to happen. Rusty play equipment, half painted walls and equipment. One part on the waterpark play area was repaired with a wash cloth and duct tape. There were lifeguards there but not nearly enough to safely cover the all the areas. Arcade would be a good amenity if the games were functional, half the games were out of order during our stay.

The water park and pool were closed during my stay. The place was like a ghost town. There were maybe 4 cars in the parking lot. It looked like they were closed- there weren’t any lights on in the lobby- kind of scary to drive up. The rooms were half remodeled. There was gross yellowed wallpaper in the bathroom. The sink would barely drain and the toilet made a loud squealing noise when it was flushed. The door across the hall was totally kicked in and cracked. Their breakfast consisted of burned coffee, a few bottles of juice and some packaged muffins. Maybe this place is better during the summer season. But I will not be returning.
