Checked in about 8pm on 6/20/25 when I got to my room the room was so hot and muggy. I called front desk from the room but the phone did not work well went down to talk to the front desk person but he was not there so I called he stated that it was just because it was extremely hot and humid outside and that the room should cool once the temps dropped. I put the ac on 60 and left for a few hours when I got back the room was still extremely warm and muggy we checked and the compressor wasn’t kicking on so we grabbed our things and checked out when I talked to front seat person and told him we were checking out he had no compassion for our issue.

They front desk staff are polite. No house keeping staff were deployed. Had to leave the hotel on stay early because of a broken shower or issue the water was leaking downstairs to the other room. Front desk staff barged in the room while my wife was showering and had no clothes. We both were scared. I spent 2 and a half hours moving my property very unprepared for this move. The manager was very rude at hearing our concern for a refund because the stay was horrible. Photos of Roach catches all over the room for a roach problem. Have photos of the roach catches, we were very unsatisfied with this stay.

Starting with the positive: The young man at the front desk was so nice, very friendly. Since we arrived so late, we weren’t able to address this till the next morning, but we had no air-conditioning and it was uncomfortably hot. The helpful front desk guy moved us the next day, where we had working AC but no TV. Yes, these rooms are cheap so we had low expectations, but having a clean room, bathroom is a pretty standard expectation.

First thing pulling onto property, there were 3 people sitting by a car, right across from the entrance, with a cooler and numerous empty beer cans on the ground. Did realize these people were extended stay guests, that were working in the area and were probably just unwinding from a long work week. So, we let that slide. Walking up the stairs, to our room, the carpet was extremely stained, to the point it looked like people had repeatedly drug many bags of dark liquid up and down. You could also see where wheel marks had ground the stains in deep. Opened the door of our room and had an immediate odor or cigarette smoke and the toilet was running. My wife went to use toilet and noticed a dust/dirt pile in corner, by the tub. Also noticed there was only 1 little bottle of shampoo on counter and no conditioner or body wash. While using toilet, it started running again. Went to bedroom and there was dust/dirt under the top sheets and a huge red stain on the carpet. Living room had cigarette burns in the carpet. Couch had stains and uneven, lumpy cushions. There was not any bedding for the pullout couch. Toilet started running again.
I'm sure some of this could have been remedied by contacting front desk, but we didnt stay long enough to consider that option. We left and went to another hotel.
The good of our experience was, the staff at check in. Very nice and polite.

One of the rooms had mold in the bathroom and the shower did not work properly. All bedding and towels were in poor condition. Most were falling apart and had holes. Check in was very strange as well. Had to pick up the phone call someone to open the door and the front desk was closed. The front desk was also closed at 8 o’clock in the morning. Stove top did not work at all. No dishes of any kind in the room. Was greeted very unprofessionally with a lady in pajamas and slippers. Hair was greasy and sloppy as she just rolled out of bed.

One of the staff members came and picked up the money for 2 days. Saturday to Monday. When I went to check out the situation later, she swore I owed money, and even yelled at me. I only had 200 dollars gave her 160 booked the reservation and 156.00$ was what I owed. Yet she put her foot in her mouth when she described the bills 5 twenty dollar bills, 1 fifty dollar bill, and a 10 dollar bill. Yet she tried to say that I owed her. No she still owes me 3 dollars. With my situation I feel she was trying to get over on me. And she was very unprofessional, and disrespectful. Other than that I feel that they are nice rooms and I'm very happy with the rest of the staff.

Room was supposed to be a queen suite. The bed was definitely not a queen but rather a full, the walls looked like someone splattered food or something on them, the chair had the head area completely rubbed out, there were sprays of cleaner all over the microwave, and the freezer looked like someone had brought raw meat in and let the juices bleed all over it. Was overall very gross. Would not stay here again.

Cons: kitchenette did NOT have any dinnerware, silverware or pots or pans to cook with. IF you wanted to cook, the hotel sold pots and pans for $45. Place is affordable which means people live there. There were cobwebs in the hallway.

We we surprised to see that the rooms were so bare- no cups, no coffee, no ice bucket, not a single complimentary toiletry item, undersized tv, etc. - like staying in a prison cell. Beds were mostly comfortable but with visible stains. Carpet in room and throughout hallways was stained and dirty. Overall very gross- made for some fun joking within the family but wouldn't ever recommend- even at half the cost.

Do not stay here. Terrible management, they will refuse to offer you another room even if theirs is full of bed bugs. This has probably been the worst hotel I've ever been to. We had to find another place to stay and they kept pushing the refund saying \"the manager wasn't there\". Don't even think about staying here no matter how cheap.

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the smell of marijuana. The entire place was pretty rundown looking and I honestly didn't feel comfortable sleeping in the bed. The bedding had stains on it, the toilet seat had a weird stain on it, the leather chair in the room had the headrest completely worn down. For the price I guess I can't complain that much, but the room just did not feel like it was clean and it was hard to be comfortable.

You get what you pay for!

My family was there for a wedding, and we had two rooms to accommodate the crew. The hotel smelled like marijuana when we walked in but the floor that we were on, did not. Overall it was a fine, we mainly just slept there and the beds were comfortable. Our only complaint was that the toilet was clogged, however nothing in it to have caused it, and the hotel did not have a plunger we could use at 1am to unclog it. When I called the staff, it sounded as though they were at home rather than on site because I heard a child in the background and they said they were new and would have to call me back to let me know if someone could take care of it. No phone call came as I stayed up to get it right away, when it rang, since it was in the middle of the night and then at 7am, someone is knocking on our door with a plunger. Thank goodness we had two rooms so we could use the other rooms toilet while we waited for ours to get unclogged. I've never heard of a hotel not having a plunger that obviously has many toilets.

The GSR who checked us in Friday is a 10 star employee. She could have used a delivery person for room requests. Is the pool going to open? The hotel was adequate and had soacious rooms. There was no ice bucket and there was two bath towels issued to room. We went down and go two more for our 4 person party. 3 stars for this property.

We checked into our room to find the A/C was not working and we couldn't get any satellite signal on the tv. The lady at the desk was very nice and apologetic. She can to our room to see if she could fix tge issues. We ended up moving rooms. A\C was better but not great. The bathroom floor was filthy. Hair and grime had been mopped up against the baseboard and left to dry like that. We will not stay at a Suburban extended stay ever again

1st off. I was here visiting my husband who is a traveling nurse.. Front desk women have horrible attitudes & during my stay I rarely ever saw anyone at the front desk! They charged me double & when I called about it, she said it was an incident holding fee that I would receive back once I checked out. When I called about my money another lady said 7-10 business days! I have no problem with an “incident holding” fee, I just wasn’t told about this during my check in but the real truth is this hotel isn’t nice enough for an incident holding fee of $240! The sheets had cigarette Burns in them, the toilet was disgusting and looked VERY gross, that my daughter was afraid to use it, we had 0 tissue in the room! I mean I just didn’t feel clean!

We will never be using the Suburban Extended stay in Waterloo ever again, It was awful. It smelled bad and there were room doors propped open with people being very loud all night with yelling and loud music. The front desk even had one of those metal security panels that came down and locked. After not being able to sleep all night at around 330 in the morning I began itching and found the bed bug eating me, I attached pic of it. So I went out and stayed in my van the rest of the morning.

There’s nothing spectacular about the Suburban Extended Stay. I’m not sure it was geared toward casual business travelers. For the price they charge, there were almost no little extras. There was about a 1/4” left on the roll of TP and I needed to ask for more. Most extended stay hotels have paper towels, dishes, water glasses, etc. That was available but for an additional cost. When I pulled back the sheets there were some hairs in the bed so I was hoping they were from the housekeeping staff. Overall, not great.

Our TV didn't work so they gave us a discount on our room. The hotel was in decent condition and not in a scary part of town or anything but we could tell that upkeep of the property had slipped in the last year or two. Paint needed to be freshened throughout, cleaning wasn't to the standard it should have been... too bad, it has potential. The gals at the front desk were as helpfuls as they could be, except the one named Heather... she was horribly rude.

And when I went to check out I was charged an extra fee every day for linen service even though I was only there 2 nights and never had any maid service whatsoever. They are adding this fee on and it seems to be a scam. I was at the desk for an hour trying to get my money back for that.

Didn't like the floors were filthy, bathtub had no drain plug, the bathtub faucet and shower head both ran at the same time couldn't make either stop, no cups to drink and no coffee cups, there was a coffee maker but no coffee. Next time would sleep in the car before checking in to this hotel.

High rating, huge disappointment. Let me start by saying that Amy went above and beyond to make things right but it was just too much. My room smelled like feet. The floor had not been mopped or vacuumed. No soap on the sink. Mirror had something smeared on it. Shower was clogged. I could go on but i won't. I paid $30 more per night to stay here as opposed to other hotels in the area because of the rating. I won't do that again.

This used to be a Quality Inn. We stayed this year despite the change of management because we were familiar with the location. However, since the change, we don't like it quite as much. There is no one at the front desk after 10PM (Quality Inn had someone there the whole time). When we came in late after a festival we had to contact the help that was \"on call\". We were also disappointed to find out they removed the breakfast options that the previous owner had had, and, even though it was a little thing, there were no plastic cups or coffee cups in the room.

The entire hotel smelled like smoke. We reported it twice. We were actually approached by a guest for a cigarette, reported it to front desk and they knew who it was and said it would be handled. Came back after dinner to smoke and reported again with \"I'll take care of it.\" It wasn't a little smoke but the entire hotel smelled. It was filthy. Our floor had food on it by the kitchenette. The bathroom had dust bunnies on the floor.

The free breakfast was yogurt, small sweet rolls, fruit in syrupy cups...no fresh fruit. No milk. Healthy choices were very limited. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The facility is undergoing remodeling for residential week stays but was still clean and quiet. Good enough that we will stay next week overnight ,too. CONVENIENT location.

Front desk people were very nice. Not the cleanest hallways or room but not terrible.

Great week stay

The front desk was awesome thank you Chelsea, the room was awesome plenty of space meds comfortable desk to work on huge bathroom and did I say thank you Chelsea!
