Very friendly staff. Slight delay with computer on check-in so she upgraded our room for free. I accidentally booked this hotel instead of the Holiday Inn and Suites next door and am very glad we did. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Probably the best night sleep in a hotel I have ever had.

Cheap skate holiday inn

Business - hotel not to the normal Quality of a Holiday Inn I have stayed at multiple across the county weekly for business. Dirty and cheap. There was not even soap in the bathroom to wash your hands - that’s how cheap this place is no tea or coffee options in the room also.

For the price I paid $150 a night I felt ripped off in honesty. Was told management had taken the decision to remove tea and coffee from the rooms. Honestly price should be $72 as put it at the same level as a motel 6 or super 8 but at least they have tea and coffee.


Bathroom also needs a good bleach perhaps too cheap to buy that - pink mold in bathtub - bring your flip flops if staying here. Won’t stay here again. Cheap skates.

The hotel has comfortable beds, is updated, and in a great location to access Cedar Falls activities. Checked in to have no heat and its 30 degrees outside, couldnt move rooms because they were full. Got a $30 discount but for having no heat it should have been a free night. Very disappointed in this since now 2 of the 3 people that stayed in the room with no heat are sick. Very disappointed!

Unpleasant night

I booked a king suite not expecting it to be an adjoining room to another. The party in the adjoining room was up until 3 AM laughing, talking loudly and even periods of crying. There was no binder with hotel info in the room and the phone wasn't found until the next morning stashed in a cubby capartment in the nightstand; otherwise I would have called the front desk for support.

This is a great place to stay while on the road passing through. Easy on/off interstate 80. It is a ways from any dining and shopping opportunities but the room was clean and bed comfortable.

Unpleasant hallway smell

We were in town for graduation as were most of the other guests. The only thing that stands out worth mentioning is the sewer gas type smell outside our room on the third floor in the hallway on Friday night when we returned about 9:00. We left our rooms at 4:30 and there was no smell. It was still lingering Saturday morning when we left at 7:45.

Disappointed stay

When we arrived the pool was closed and we were told that it would be opened that evening and it wasn’t. We had two very disappointed children with us. Only one elevator was working and they put all the guests on the third floor. The breakfast was terrible. Hard as a brick cinnamon rolls, dried up sausage, rubbery hard eggs and watered down juice. We also had problems with trying to get a reimbursement for our daughter who was unable to come because of covid. We never did get that figured out. We were all there for a funeral so this was not something we wanted to have to deal with.

Accessible vs communication accessible

Friendly front desk staff. Nice breakfast options, full Holiday Inn next door if you want a menu breakfast. Quiet area and worked well for our trip.

Accessible room on hotels.com was labeled as “King/Multi bed Suite Accessible (Communication Accessible)” but the pictures showed a suite with ample room, full room sitting area and an accessible bathroom with tub. The description also supported accessibility for a wheelchair. Staff attempted to make it right but the physically accessible rooms were not clean…I appreciate the effort.

Staff was very friendly. Our faucet in the shower was loose and broke and they had to page maintenance to come fix it at 8:30om. The door to room could be opened at times without a Kay and other times it would stay locked. The breakfast was fine but it wasn’t getting replenished so we weren’t able to eat what we wanted. 2nd day even the fruit bowl were empty.

The hotel was nice, but our room was not ready for us to stay in it. There were things left in the frig from previous guests, also the bathroom was not restocked. We had a suite and only had two hand towels and two regular towels. We had to ask for everything. There was not bedding or pillows for the pull out. You can tell that maybe they didn't have enough staff, but the staff we did talk to was super nice and helpful. Just not a typicaly Holiday Inn Express experience.

Beware filthy hotel. Doesn't care about you only m

Filthy hotel. I expect more from a Holiday Inn so I don't mind paying a little more. This place was dirty from the entryway, elevator and our room. There was trash outside and in the elevator. Our room had coffee cup stains on the furniture which told me it wàs not covid clean. There was no shower curtain in the bathroom. I took a shower anyway and had to use a towel to clean up the water on the floor afterwards. The towel was black from the filthy floor. I would have left when we got there but we checked in after 1am and the guy that checked us in told me that since I paid online he couldn't give me my money back. I have since called the hotel and was offered a 50 percent off coupon for my next stay there. Yeah like that is going to happen. They made many excuses why the hotel was so filthy (change in employees and employees don't show up for work.) But if you can't offer a clean room you should not offer it. Only offer the ones you can clean. I'm still trying to get my money back. Will never stay here again. We stayed at the Comfort suites the night before and it was wonderful and cheaper. That will be my go to hotel from now on.

Best of the 4 hotels I’ve stayed at in Cedar Falls, IA.
Clean and comfortable room, excellent breakfast that was frequently stocked and area cleaned.
In-room coffee maker with k-cups was a nice touch.
Pool and workout facility looked great even though I didn’t use either. Note there is no hot tub if that’s important to you.
I will definitely use this hotel again when passing through!

Property was clean, staff was very nice. I have stayed there before and I chose this location because of the breakfast and how close it was to where I needed to be. I was disappointed when I found out the breakfast was limited to grab and go type foods because of COVID since other restaurants are now open but I understand the safety concerns. Need more coffee in the rooms and the pancake machine took a long time to get refilled when it ran out of batter. I would stay there again but I will check to see if they are serving a hot breakfast.
