The location is great and the staff everywhere (front desk, housekeepers, restaurant) were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were quiet. But, our room was dingy and had some peeling paint. The bathroom is an odd layout. There is not vanity on the sink, just a freestanding cabinet next to it. The toilet is practically sitting in the shower. It's a really right fit and I'm not a big woman.
Also, I had high hopes for the breakfast because the Carriage House has a reputation for great food, but it was really underwhelming. Often the food was cold and bland. The eggs were greasy. The cereal cheap and the fruit salad boring. Not even a banana. The yogurt was served in cheap disposable plastic, and it's the same flavor every day. I have no idea if it was low fat.
The exercise room and steam looked dirty and smelled bad.

The room was clean and nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful: the room was prepared a bit earlier than check in time and the process was accelerated to accomodate my needs. Didn't use the outdoor pool, however it was noticeably busy. The gym was fine. I would like to have kettlebells there as well, but it's more like personal preferences. Three restaurants with some dishes that were just right for my taste. Overall, nice hotel for staying over for business trip

The room was quite spacious and clean. The staff, without exception, were absolutely fantastic and couldn't have been more accommodating. On the less positive side, a microwave and decent pillows would have been appreciated (without having to organise through housekeeping). The tub was difficult to climb over and a handheld option would have been appreciated as not all the water came out of the showerhead. I assume there was no kettle as one was supposed to make tea through the Keurig.

We stayed here 2 years ago and had a wonderful stay. This time, our room, 411, left much to be desired. Bathroom very small. No counter, just a couple of glass shelves. Very squishy and we are not big people. Taps squeaky, need replacing to modern hygienic taps.
Had to ask for a luggage rack.
Breakfast was decent and included so very much appreciated.
Front desk staff were great, as we're servers in the restaurant.
Really enjoyed a meal at Peanuts pub.

Didn’t use other facilities. Bathrooms were supposedly renovated since built they were built. Our bathroom was very tight.shower door handle broken just waiting for someone to pull hard and it would fall apart. Our daughter stayed in a room above us and her shower door fell completely off its track. Definitely not soundproof. We listened to the person in room beside us with a hacking cough all night.
Despite being old it was very clean with comfortable beds and pillows. Staff were very cordial. Breakfast was excellent.
Just not worth the money spent for such an old facility.

The hotel is clean, with multiple food options, and in a great location. Friendly staff too. For all of those reasons I would have given it a 4.5-5 Star rating.

But the room itself was dated and I found it bare…no pictures, no furniture other than a bed, dresser, a cheap office chair, and a floor lamp.
No place for a guest to sit comfortably.

Also, I was there for a conference and the 2nd Floor Breakout Rooms were not great. Dated, dark and with poor AC. The Main Ballroom was great. Unfortunately I was only in there for about 1/3 of my sessions.

For the price, I would likely stay somewhere else next time.

Hi booked for visiting grandchild he was on Spring Break! The outdoor pool was taken over by someone an employee from the pub my grandson 14 tried but due to language and drinking by staff and friends he had a lousy time. He left. Also firemen arrived kitchen had a fire so he and his dad just left terribly unhappy and hungry. This was the worst stay. I knew drinks were served at pool from past visits. I had book during the week as thought the pool area would be less busy. Weekends were busy but not like this! What can I say book the hotel if you do not want to use the pool. I feel so bad for my grandson ….

The Carriage House Hotel and Convention Centre is a very nice hotel located in south central Calgary, making it very convenient to downtown, Chinook Centre, and other local sights. The hotel was well maintained, clean and has nicely appointed rooms, and comfortable bed and pillows. Staff were great and very accommodating when we needed extra supplies, or suggestions on where to eat or visit. The hotel offers free daily breakfast and free parking, which really helps out with controlling cost while travelling. There are a couple of restaurants and a pub on the property, and there are many local restaurants near by. We were pleased with our stay, and highly recommend this property if you need to be in the Calgary SW or SE areas.

The Carriage House is my go to hotel on the south side of Calgary. The year round pool and hot tub are a treat, along with Peanuts pub.

Staff is accomodating and pleasant to deal with.

I recommend this property.

Restaurant is closed could not get any dinner. Had to order out. The sauna was out of order swimming pool was amazing. The hot tub outside needs some work all the little tiles around it or falling out. Stuff was amazing.

Hotel is old. Clean and basically renovated but still feels old and dingy. Hallways are dark and brown. Toilets, shower heads, toilet seats, taps, glassware are poor quality. Towels, sheets, robes the hardest most scratchy we’ve ever encountered in any hotel. Pillows on a queen bed were king and not enough room in bed. very poor sleep quality.

This hotel had a lot of options for dining, however, everything was closed during our stay due to a staff party. The hotel was nice in the common areas, the rooms are clearly from the 80’s or older and haven’t been updated. The picture we saw on Expedia for the room is definitely not the room we received there. The staff (that was working) was very kind.

Overall, my stay at the hotel was decent. The Pinutts restaurant is actually good and offers a nice dining experience + bar. The pool was also enjoyable, with a great temperature.

However, the gym needs significant improvements. The equipment is very outdated, and many machines are out of order. The sauna was also completely non-functional, which was disappointing.

The rooms are okay, nothing special. One major issue was the water temperature in the room—it was extremely hot and very difficult to adjust. It was nearly impossible to get cold water, and I even burned myself a few times in the shower.

On a positive note, the staff was very kind and welcoming, which made the stay more pleasant.

Check in: staff were not helpful when we got in before check in. Did not offer to help with bags or give any ideas where to spend time while we waited.
Maintence: leaves at 4:30 pm on friday - so make sure everything works because they are not available or on call for emergencies.
Example of service: a staff was getting off the elevator while we waited to get on, shewalked by us and took some items with her - the elevator closed and left before we got a chance to get on..no apologies or attempts to hold the door for us and we waited for the next one.
Breakfast: this was not much better than a road stop hot breakfast. My coffee was empty most of the time and really had to flag down staff for refills - even when the place was near empty.
In comparison to similae type hotels - I prefer a best western.

Check in was a breeze! Staff were very welcoming! Room was very clean, other than carpet baseboards falling off in the room and the creaking king bed everytime you moved. Warning there are no microwaves in the rooms, extra 5.00 a night to have one brought to you.

Other than that the stay was very nice, i would definitely stay again in the future!
