When I booked this hotel the photos ended up not looking anything like what I booked. Where I ended up looked like we were in sex worker central. Maybe you should update your photos so people know that instead of a charming hotel, it’s a place you take your sex worker for the night.

I paid my dues and they charged me an extra $31.50.. for what you ask I have no clue. This place sucked and was creepy as heck. I will not return to this place at all.

Very poor experience. The room smelled strongly of smoke despite being booked as non-smoking, and it was not clean, including the bathroom. I raised the issue immediately, but staff did not offer another room and refused a refund. I had to check out right away. Would not recommend.

Worst hotel I have ever had in my entire life. The front desk had cancelled my reservation because my card on file was expired, Expedia sent me an email stating I had 12 hours to update and I was going to be at check in within that 12 hour norice so I left it until I arrived .
The front desk would not honor my Expedia pricing and charged me nearly double to stay here. The rooms have zero sound proofing at all I could hear the people on both sides of my room for theee nights straight I got hardly any sleep due to how loud it was . I checked out early and left a night early , no refund of course on the 4 th night but to me it was better than trying to stay there any longer. 10/10
Do not recommend staying here .

I never write reviews, but I am today, because you must avoid this hotel. Our safety was threatened. This extremely run down establishment is in a shady part of town. There were gang members starring us down when we got there. We saw a woman trying to break into a car with a Slim Jim, in plain daylight, in the parking lot. The hotel attendants are protected by a cage. The lobby smelled like strong disinfectant to hide urine smell. Every customer scared us. There were (what appeared to be stolen) bicycles broken down, missing parts, abandoned by the garbage bin. The suite we rented had the bedroom window siliconed shut and both windows had 2 X 6 planks to prevent breaking and entering. The door had been kicked in multiple times, and poorly repaired. The door jamb was destroyed, and camouflaged by a flimsy piece of MDF molder. A toddler could have forced her way into this suite. The suite smelled strongly of mold, everything was completely run down. There were no butter knives in the cutlery drawer... we figured because they likely present with stabbing risk... We took the vehicle to go back to the caged lady at the front desk because we felt unsafe crossing the parking lot on foot at 4:00 PM. She did little to help us. I trust she felt unsafe leaving her cage. We quickly left after being refused a refund. We found refuge in a better hotel. Expedia should not be doing business with this establishment. It is a dark, moldy, smelly stain on your corporate reputation. Please refund

There was only one staff who was nice. I don’t know how this place stays open. They make you sign this docs where they say they will charge you fees for everything. Ask for a damage deposit and your id information. The property is in really bad condition. It’s old and broken and dirty. Sheets and pillows smell musty. God knows if they wash them. Furniture and walls and facilities are not just old they’re broken. Be aware that sliding doors to the balcony don’t lock. I asked to be moved to one where the door lock worked and they just said none has a lock. They do they just don’t work. So hope nobody jumps from another room and steals your stuff. If the room is missing something you will also be charged but they can’t even make sure they’re safe. I knew it wasn’t a 5 star hotel but this is a joke.

Though they did some renovations, it didnt impress. No warm water for shower, tv didnt work, wifi couldnt connect.... though the clientele is much to be desired. It didnt feel safe between 11pm to about 6 am to leave my room. If it was safe, i wouldnt left and slept in my car. Please dont bring any minor children here.

The first room had hair n the bed, pubic hair and urine on the toilet set. The second room was visually clean but had a very strong smell of disinfectant. Night one was uneventful. Night two, we had no power for two hours, and no heat for the entire night. It was -30c. Also, the parking lot was not accessible because the sloped drives were icy, without any sand or gravel. Front desk refused a refund, refused a room change, and laughed when my wife asked for heat. This might be a great place for a junkie needing to find shelter but everyone else should stay far away.

This room was disgusting. We ended up leaving and couldnt get a refund. We booked somewhere else. It was dirty and smelly and there was no heat, the baseboards were not working and there was an old heat lamp from the 1970s to heat the room. DO NOT STAY HERE.

2nd floor was so hot especially for November, the A/C wasn’t functional/I couldn’t control the heat and they don’t have plugs for their bathtubs (which clearly aren’t regularly cleaned). Hotel is a dead data zone and wifi only works in the rooms, nowhere else on the property.

The rooms are small and dark, with a very noisy AC. The corridors to the rooms are very scary as they are also dark. They lied about breakfast, which was never provided. Customer care is a disaster; the lady at the reception is always arguing with clients. And to climax all this I was robbed by this place of my 100CAD that they claimed to have taken as a deposit that it would be refunded on leaving, which never happened.

Plenty of free parking and moderately clean facilities, but the experience was marred by unprofessional service. The staff was argumentative and insisted I pay twice to receive a refund. We booked a queen room but were given a double instead, and there was very little hot water during our stay. Disappointing overall.

I had a very bad experience with this hotel,
1. Expedia had already charged me but I had to pay again at the front desk. Where they told me that Expedia would refund my money in 5 days.
2. The AC was so noisy that I couldn't sleep. I went to the front desk to change rooms and the receptionist only told me that's how they all are because they are old equipment. So I had to sleep in my car.
3. The shower was dirty and had hair.
4. The TV was almost the size of a tablet and had no internet connection.
5. In the morning I went to breakfast and the front desk just said they no longer included breakfast and I didn't know why Expedia included breakfast. Totally disappointed with this hotel.
6. I reserved the room for two nights but had to check out after the first night and they didn't refund me any money. This was my first experience with Expedia at this hotel. Then I saw the reviews of this hotel on other pages and was surprised. I can only wait for them to refund my money for the room and the security deposit.

You Get What You Pay For!

Location: The neighborhood feels unsafe at night. Guests are warned not to leave valuables in cars, and the motel itself has locked check-in and warning signs. Safer options may suit cautious travelers better, though the area has daytime attractions.

Room #1: Bed was fine, but the room was hot, the AC extremely noisy, and the bathroom fan loud. Security felt poor: no chain lock, dark shared entry, unclear peephole. The TV was awkwardly angled, noise carried easily from next door, curtains didn’t block light, and privacy was minimal. The worst issue though was seeing a mouse and finding droppings under the fridge. Staff agreed we couldn’t stay in that room but delayed assigning another, I had to make multiple calls in to find out if I have a new room or not, and on the last phone call they even suggested I pay $300 for a new room for one night and wouldn’t refund my booked night for the original room. After pressing, they finally honored the original rate.

Room #2: Larger and more comfortable, with better layout and coverings. The shower was great, though the AC remained noisy, the room hot on arrival, and safety features still lacking.

Overall: Some improvements in the second room, but between security concerns, noise, pests, and poor customer service, this stay was far from smooth.

The pictures didn't accurately convey the room and it's size. It's very small and as far as having a kitchenette - there were a couple of burners and very limited cookware, silverware, dishes. We stayed for six nights. We got our room cleaned twice. We had to ask for a roll of toilet paper three times before receiving one. We had to beg to get some coffee for the morning. They even asked what our room number was and my husband said \"you're not going to charge us are you?!\" and they didn't. The bed sagged in the middle and we had to make sure not to sit on the end otherwise it would flip over (the frame was not big enough). There is a cage around the check-in area so I'm not sure how safe the area is. And it's right off a very busy street (Macleod Trail). While Chinook Mall is about 2 minutes away and getting to connecting roads is easy, it's very noisy.

Overall this place is quite run down, and it didn't feel very safe. I should have read the reviews but that's on me. The WiFi didn't work, wouldn't coonect on either device. I called the front desk, she said she'd call back. I called half an hour later, no answer. When I went to check out there was very strong incense burning in the lobby. I found it very unnecessary especially with no windows being open. I wouldn't stay again.

Subject: Unclear Deposit Policy & Rude Front Desk Experience

I had a very disappointing experience at Canada Best Value Inn Chinook Station. I was not allowed to check in because I didn’t have a credit card to pay the $100 damage deposit, even though I offered to pay in cash or use my debit card. I booked the room through Expedia using my debit card, and the booking was confirmed successfully. There was no clear mention in the terms and conditions that only credit cards are accepted for deposits.

I traveled all the way from Banff, only to be turned away upon arrival. What made the experience even worse was the rude and arrogant attitude of the front desk lady. She was dismissive and unprofessional when I tried to explain that the credit card deposit policy wasn’t made clear during booking.
I hope the hotel management clarifies this policy in their listing to avoid misleading future guests.

Worst place to stay!
We checked in early and were charged for that option around 35 dollars, which we agreed to pay as we were tired and needed to rest.
The rooms are not even close to what they show in the pictures. They are dark, considerably small, smelly and the toilets don't even flush properly due to a low water policy or something ridiculous like that.
We stayed as we were tired and had plans to go out almost everyday from our stay. It would have been inconvenient to move to a different hotel at that point.
Breakfast was advertised, however not even coffee cups were provided in our room.
Cigarette smell and noise were a constant thing during the nights upon arrival from our activities, even though it says somewhere these are not supposed to be smoking rooms.

Additionally, we were not careful enough to notice, check and take pictures of everything around the beds and room in general, and oh surprise we found out we were charged close to 50 dollars (taken from the 100 dollars security deposit) because a bed sheet was stained with who knows what, as it was already like that when we checked in. They didn't send housekeeping on our first day of stay...we came back to the room finding nobody had come to clean, on the second day, somebody was told to come back later but never did.
In other words, just be careful of you're planning to book a stay in there. Check everything and take pictures of everything to avoid being scammed.

They seem to charge you damage you did not do. They charged me for stained bed sheet which I know I did not do. They say they have a picture so I went back to get a copy of pic as I will be disputing this. I went back immediately after talking with him and I found it very interesting that he had to scoll thru 1 to 2 sceens on his phone to find it. When he did find it I nocted that the pic was in the middle of the sceen along with a full screen of other pics of charge backs for othe rooms, he then clicked on pic to pull it up. I think this is a scam they run hoping poeple do not dispute the charge as it is not that much and even if these pics are real or they just keep using pics over and over again so they can argue with you if you do dispute. Do not rent a room from them as it is fairly run down motel.

The main entrance smelled like urine. Our room was ok as far as cleanliness goes and our beds were ok too. You could hear people next to us and above us with every step they took and every word they said. It is located on a busy street so noisy all night. It will do in a pinch, but definitely not a place you pick on purpose.

Terrible smell in the room. I opened a window, burned a candle for hours and ran a fan in bathroom but could not get rid of it. Had to wash my hair before leaving in the morning cause it smelled gross of that terrible old rooms's smell of cigarettes, decaying wood and who knows what else. Loud fridge. Had to turn it off. Metal cage between you and a check in guy with poor English and poor customer service skills. Just grossest hotel experience in the last 30 years.

I'll checking in with a fully qualified service dog being screamed at demand and extra documents being told that PTSD service dogs aren't real.

And then upon returning from home being charged for a pet cleaning fee until I contacted the media when it was reversed.

This is absolutely the worst property I've ever stayed at in my entire life in 71 countries it should be removed from Expedia.

DO NOT GO HERE. They advertise as they provide breakfast but there is nothing they provide and then they will silently add extra charges to your credit cards for missing stuff without confirming. When I called the property office, they said you stole towels and mats. I asked the property manager to check the rooms at my checkout but they said it is okay and then the charges appears and their response was that the room services counted and towels and mats were missing from the rooms without providing any proof and calling us a thief on my face over the call.

Wasn’t going to bother leaving a review because it’s exactly what you’d expect for a sleazy run down motel. We were in Calgary for a few days and just needed a place to sleep.
We’re now being charged $500 for smoking in a room that we didn’t smoke in. I received a text at 5:30am from someone who promptly blocked my number. Called the motel and asked to speak to the manager, they were shockingly not in, but I was told they had proof that we had smoked in the room. Still waiting to see this supposed proof they have.
Do yourself a favour and just spend a bit of extra money on a hotel that won’t try to fraudulently charge you afterwards.
Rooms are dirty, wall in bathroom was black from the heater, no breakfast as advertised.

I understand that the Stampede is a particularly busy time; however, I believe that proper advance notice is still essential. I booked my stay through Expedia with a clear payment option of \"pay upon check-in.\" Despite this, the hotel still charged me a day before my arrival.

When I called to clarify, I was informed that if I didn’t pay in advance, my booking would be canceled. I explained that according to my Expedia reservation, payment was due at check-in. I was then told that the policy on Expedia was outdated. If that is the case, how am I, as a guest, supposed to be aware of this discrepancy?

The staff I dealt with were unhelpful. The overall ambience and the staff of the motel was also not welcoming, which added to a disappointing experience.

I hope this feedback helps improve communication and service for future guests.
