A true gem outside of Cannes

Really really enjoyed this hotel. Pool is perfect, rooms are all different but the two I saw were both lovely (simple) and well maintained. air conditioning is excellent - silent, modern, effective, easy to set. Close to the road but very quiet all day and night. Restaurant is exceptional - beautiful interior and best meal I’ve had this entire trip. The area of the strip here is quieter than just down the road too, near Pullman. Looked chaotic over there comparatively. Staff are super helpful and kind. Absolutely would love to come back here one day and will recommend it.

Stayed at the hotel and visited the spa over a four night stay with my mother and sister (ladies trip).The property was just as beautiful in person as the photos show online. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was simple and tasty. The grounds were gorgeous - whomever looks after the statues and the gardens deserves a pat on the pack. Truly beautiful. Pool was warm, spa was excellent. Very walkable to the small town area and dozens of restaurants, as well as the castle and beaches. Would love to come back again.

Ermitage de L’Oasis presents itself as a charming getaway in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, boasting picturesque views across Port Mandelieu. However, my experience was rather disappointing.
The hotel’s location is convenient, offering easy access to the coastal area and serene views, particularly at sunset. Yet, the initial charm quickly diminishes when considering the overall state of the hotel.
The accommodations are spacious and clean, but the decor feels outdated and is in urgent need of modernisation. Daily housekeeping is appreciated but does not offset the lack of contemporary amenities.
While the pool area is a nice feature, the absence of food options—only a drinks bar—is frustrating for those wishing to snack by the water.
Breakfast is a significant letdown. At €23 per person, the selection is limited and lacking in quality. Additional charges for fried eggs or omelette feel unreasonable, and the absence of basic condiments like salt and pepper is inconvenient.
The beds are uncomfortable, consisting of two mattresses that create an awkward seam. The large pillows lack support, making for poor sleep.
Some doors do not close properly, in the room. Furthermore, complimentary water was not replenished, nudging guests towards the overpriced minibar.
Dining options are restricted, with the restaurant closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
In conclusion, despite its potential, Ermitage de L’Oasis falls short due to limited breakfast, uncomfortable beds, and various service issues.

We had a lovely time at the Hermitage when our stay in La Napoule turned out to have no air conditioning during an extreme heat wave. We spent the last 3 nights in town at the Heritage, which is clean, peaceful, and well equipped with a nice pool, gym, restaurant and bar/lounge. There were several families staying and they all seemed very happy. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and the one dinner we had at the restaurant. Our room was lovely, with a small balcony and a very spacious bathroom, beautifully designed. Everything was up-to-date and top quality. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

My only disappointment was the golf facility they are affiliated with and the lack of hospitality everyone of the employees there showed during my visit. the golf course management needs to quit or retrain all that work there.

This was the perfect hotel for our first trip to the French Riviera. The Ermitage Suite was beautiful, clean, and spacious. The facilities were really nice and all of the staff were super helpful. Overall, it was a gorgeous hotel in a perfect setting that allowed us to visit se real towns. A special thank you to Raymond and Gilles and the front desk staff. You all made our visit truly memorable!

The hotel was lovely, staff very friendly, its very close to beach, restaurants etc.
Sadly i felt breakfast was a disappointment, not everyone may agree but when i have a croissant i want strawberry jam not fig jam, i just felt it was very limited and not varied, i also felt the pool area was very small so many people had to walk away on a daily basis due to no sunbeds available. Would say max there was 15, the hotel is nice but these areas would put me of returning in the future sadly

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. However, the rooms were extremely noisy. You could hear upstairs and side rooms. Not sure what was going on above us, but we heard movement all the time as if it was a work area or something. Or it may have been next door. Unknown.
Also, our mini fridge area had a terrible odor - as if something had died in there. I brought it up to gentleman at the front desk, but not much seemed to have been done. I'm unsure if they checked it or not. He didn't understand English very well. Which is totally fine. But makes things a little harder to communicate. Overall the staff in the restaurant area was very nice.
The restaurant also said it was open until 930pm. We went to go have a drink one night at 830pm and there was no one in sight. We did have a drink after laying by the pool one day and they seemed ill prepared for that. The bar and restaurant are right by the pool, they might make more money if they offered snacks and alcohol/drinks by the pool.
We did a basic room, but in the photos there was a photo of a balcony - a bit misleading, as there wasn't one for our room. Still beautiful view of the canal and mountains. Very easy to get to the beach and other areas to eat. We walked everywhere. Close to the train station, as well. You can walk there to get on a train to Cannes, Nice, Monaco, and the airport. You may have connections so be aware of that.

We travelled with a toddler and had an excellent stay. Large room, comfy bed, generous bathroom and terrace. Pool was warm and had an extended shallow step which was great for the toddler to play on. Lots of restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. Bus stops and train station a short walk away with easy access to Cannes and beyond. 2 minute walk from a great, sandy beach. Staff were all excellent.

Lovely Hotel - Would love to come back!

Absolutely loved this quaint hotel! Right on the beach about a 10 minute drive outside of busier Cannes. This place really feels like a more laid-back vacation. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, they remembered my name every day. The food at the bistro is also excellent. Highly recommend!

I made this booking for 2 rooms a couple of months ago but my friend got a big room and I got the smaller room. When I complained at the reception, they were trying to fob me off. Did get the room eventually but not happy about the fact that this even happened. On another occasion, my room cards were not working and my husband was promised new ones will be sent up to his room but he was kept waiting until he had to come down to collect it.

Quirky hotel, fabulous staff

Stayed at the hotel for a long weekend whilst attending a party in the area. Great location in La Napoule, close to beaches and restaurants. Good transport links if you don't have a car - bus €1.50 to Cannes, boat shuttles too, although as end of season these had more or less stopped.
Our classic double room was fairly small but adequate for a short stay, had a balcony with side sea view, overlooking the inlet and boats. Breakfast buffet was lovely, hot selection of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, with lovely pastries, cold meats, smoked salmon and cheeses. Fresh orange and pink grapefruit juice, and fabulous coffee.
Small pool at the front of the hotel with comfortable loungers and towels. They will also provide beach towels on request.
The staff at the hotel are, without exception, excellent; always friendly and informative.
Would recommend without hesitation and would stay here again.

I've stayed at the hotel on a number of occasions but not for some years. The hotel has undergone an upgrade since I was last there. Unfortunately, to me, the updated decoration has gone down the route of painting everything grey. The sitting room has gone from being Provencale charm at its best to being like the business class lounge at Zurich Airport.

There is no food on the menu that'd encourage guests to stay in the hotel for a light lunch or that is indeed child friendly.

However, these are small grumbles. The hotel is in a great location for exploring the Cote d'Azur whether it be by sea, car or train. the hotel staff are charming and the hotel itself is first rate. It is likely that we will return.

Ermitage du Riou review

Staff really friendly and good. Nice location and pretty hotel but very expensive for what it is. Annoyingly I specifically requested a king / queen sized bed as I am 6 feet 2 inches tall and we were given two single beds (made up individually as such) pushed together. Worse still this "4 star hotel" had no kitchen - or so we were told when we requested room service. This was not 3 am room service but just something simple at 2000. Only thing on offer was either meat or cheese sandwiches, nothing hot or any salads even. No idea how they managed to provide the advertised breakfast in the morning. I guess that makes it a 4 star hostel not a hotel. No offer of refund made at check out by way of compensation.

Easy access to autoroute nearby allowing quick access to Cannes, Nice, Monaco and St Tropez. Also scenic coast road
to many small towns and lovely beaches. Good access to inland mountains for those who like stunning scenery. We will return again.

Not too far from Cannes

By mistake, we booked this hotel as we wanted to stay in Cannes, however I think we ended up better off. Whilst we were there, the Cannes film festival was on. Massively busy in Cannes the day we went to visit.
There is a train station within an easy 5 min walk from the hotel which takes 13 mins to get into Cannes Station. Cots each was less than 5 euros each and that's return.
We paid a fraction of what the hotels were charging in Cannes and got a great room in a lovely hotel. Staff were really great and accommodating.
Would recommend the location and would return

Great boutique hotel with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. We had a wonderfully bright corner room with a large balcony facing the marina. The town itself is rather small but offers a handful of top quality restaurants and the hotel is within proximity of some beautiful and relatively secluded beaches (in the direction of Theoule). All in all, this hotel significantly exceeded our expectations and we look forward to coming back.

Bar and restaurant area are nice but bar prices are excessive, with plenty of other options nearby. Breakfast disappointing - needs addition of cheeses and cold meats, rather than just bread, pastries and limited fruit.

It would have been a nice experience if the carpet had been clean. Our light colored room carpet looked like someone regularity dragged sloppy garbage bags over it. The rest was good. It's an old building so the shower and elevator are from another century but that is not a problem. Location was beautiful. Staff was helpful. View was good.

Nice Hotel, pity about the restaurant menu.
The refurbishment seems to have improved the hotel from previous visits, however, the menu in the restaurant is very limited and does not compare, either by content or cost, with those on offer elsewhere in the village, all of which are within 300 meters. This is a pity because we did not eat in the hotel this year whereas 4 years ago we ate in the restaurant several times during our stay.

Our stay at the hotel was extremely enjoyable. The staff were great, the location fantastic and the pool and communal areas beautifully done. My only criticism would be that there were a couple of maintenance issues that needed to be sorted in our room (door handles that weren't screwed in properly) - such a small thing but very much incongruous with the rest of the hotel. The pool area was lovely and was pretty peaceful considering it was next to the road.

Hotel Services and facilitites were good. The Staff at reception were brilliant.
Breakfast was average and overpriced. the breakfast waiter always seemed annoyed like he had too much to do, but there was hardly anyone at breakfast.
Rooms were not great. The bathroom was horrible. It had no shower curtain, the bathroom need a paint or something else. The bath was less than standard.

This is a really great place to stay. The room is clean, quaint, and pretty. The bed is comfortable, and the wifi reliable. The breakfast was fantastic...everything one could wish for, from breakfast saugage, baccon and eggs, to croissants, fresh fruit, proccuito, and great coffee. View from the balcony is wonderful too. Perfect.

Great service and recently updated rooms. Breakfast was mediocre. Location by the canal and across the street from the ocean provided lovely views from the room balcony. Within walking distance of the beach, but not close to shops or many dining options. Only complaint was the tub shower arrangement needed updating. The room has a little entranceway and separate bedroom door which was nice, however noise from nearby rooms was sometimes annoying. Robes provide but no luggage.

The Ermitage du Riou is a very nice hotel.
The rooms are large and clean. We had an issue with the AC when we got to our room as we could not manage to turn it down or off. We called the reception and they were in our room to help us out after a few minutes. As it seemed the AC was broken, we agreed to move to another room, which was smaller but really nice as well.

The swimming pool is great. A lot of lounge chairs and there are some umbrellas if it gets too hot. The temperature of the swimming pool was perfect.

The breakfast was not included and is a bit overpriced (18 euros). However, the buffet was great: cereals, fresh fruits, bread, mini viennoiseries, eggs, sausages, ham ....

To sum it up, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Ble tildelt et mørkt rom på bakkeplan, sterkt lukt av insektmidler. Rar møblering med sovesofa satt foran en peis. Vi hadde bedt om rom med to enkeltsenger. Aircondition var satt i stand-by modus, noe som medførte svært dårlig luftkvalitet og varmt rom. Fikk knapt søvn første natten. Ingen av personalt på jobb kunne fikse aircondition, måtte vente på tekniker neste dag. Vi ba om å få bytte rom, dette skulle vi få etter et par dager, men hørte aldri noe mere fra resepsjon eller ledelsen. Vi hadde forventet en helt annen standard på et prestige-rom, og til den prisen.

Ein sehr schönes Hotel, in einer Top Lage, alles gut erreichbar.
Frühstück war quantitativ und gut. Auch das Abendessen war sehr gut.
Netter ausreichender Pool, Parkservice sogar Nachts wenn man erst spät ankommt.
Prestige Zimmer sind sehr groß, Ideal für 4 Personen, einem schönen großen Bad, einen bequemen großen Bett und ausreichenden Sofabett für Kinder. Boden ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig ..sonst alles Top!

Accueil agréable et serviable dans un bel environnement agrémenté d’art (tableaux-statues). La chambre était très agréable, confortable, au calme Avec petit balcon avec vue sur piscine et mer, à quelques pas du port et d’une petite plage au pied d’un château. Petit déjeuner qui vaut son prix. Le seul plus serait de changer le rideau de douche (qui paraissait pourtant neuf, rien à redire) par une vitre de douche sur la baignoire.

Not friendly staff

The staff were not friendly at all, with the exception of the lady who checked us in. She was fantastic!
We asked to have a glass of wine at the bar and the waiter suggested to go somewhere else as we were not going to have dinner.
Nobody was happy to speak French with me. I spoke French with them and they replied in English.
I do not recommend this hotel.

Sehr gepflegtes und individuelles Hotel. Wie von uns gewünscht komfortable Suite mit sehr schönem geräumigem Balkon. Ordentliches Frühstück. Für unsere Zwecke (viele Ausflüge, gemeinsame Zeit mit Freunden) perfekte Lage. Kleine Kompromisse bei der Bequemlichkeit von Bad (Wanneneinstieg) und WC (Größe). Für Nutzung des Schwimmbads war es witterungsbedingt zu kühl. Gut zugänglicher Parkplatz, der nie überfüllt war.

Peuvent mieux faire

Quand nous sommes arrivés la réception nous a donné une chambre qui n'était pas prête ( erreur de chambre ) ce qui nous a fait beaucoup rire mais qui n'est pas très sérieux pour un hôtel 4 étoiles. Ensuite nous avons été dérangé à 2 reprises par le personnel de ménage qui sont entrés sans qu'on les y invite.
