The pool was well maintained and they provide towels. It's right outside of the bar so you can enjoy your drink poolside. The hotel also has a walking trail that you can explore. The staff were excellent!

I would highly recommend staying here if you're in San Jose. It's a quiet oasis amongst the outskirts of the city. The property is very clearly well-maintained. The staff were all amazing. We had a garden view room so although close to the road, we were not bothered at all by road noise. Beautiful & definitely recommend the restaurant as well. The included breakfast was great, but we also had dinner here and the food and service was superb!

The hotel is perfectly fine for a night if you get in late or have an early flight the next day. The room was a decent size. There was only soap and no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom. The restaurant was nice and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, the area is quite sketchy, and I think we would have been better off either staying right by the airport, or going into San Jose. We were kept up all night by barking dogs and were startled around 3am by what sounded like gun shots.

What a beautiful little gem in the middle of the city. The rooms were very clean and spacious, and the beds were incredible. The pool was also gorgeous. We ate at the onsite restaurant, and the service was spectacular. The food was good but not the best I've had. Shampoo, etc. in the shower would have been a plus but that is the only drawback for me! Great place and a great price.

I felt so welcome the moment I walked onto the property. It’s a very secure place and I felt very safe, especially as a female, solo traveler. The check in was very easy and the kind security guard helped me to my room. Jennifer (I believe her name is) is extremely sweet and made sure I had everything I needed for my stay. Everyone was so nice! The restaurant staff is so attentive and very efficient with the food orders. I was so happy to enjoy the free breakfast, the pool, and the wonderful room. Everything was very clean and organized. I wish to return soon! This will be my first choice for hotels in San Jose :) Muchas gracias!!

Villa San Ignacio is a beautiful hotel creatively nestled in nature, but close to the hustle and bustle. The staff was very friendly and helpful with my late arrival. My room was clean with great little touches for a comfortable and productive stay. A small desk for working, floorspace for yoga by the bed, beautiful natural light, and a very comfortable bed. I enjoyed my breakfast, then a walk through the jungle trails on the property, and a quick dip in the pool. Highly recommend this unique stay!

Because of the proximity to SJO airport, I booked this hotel as an \"in-between\" after a long travel day ... But what a surprise, this place is a little piece of heaven right outside the city! The hotel property is like it's own little secret National Park! Rooms have air conditioning via a mini-split and private patios looking over the grounds! Plenty of parking if you're renting a car. Very well kept with even some hiking trails! The restaurant is a lovely indoor/outdoor setting and we had some pretty incredible meals! The only thing I regret is not booking this place for longer! We will be back!

The “Honeymoon Suite” with 1 king bed had a ton of space and a large outdoor terrace (it was on the second floor). The restaurant was good for both dinner and the included breakfast. It is on a busy road but feels secluded with the gate and large property.

The service at this cute little villa was superb. Our waiter was extremely personable and made our first night in Costa Rica very memorable. The rooms were clean and spacious. The shower’s water pressure was amazing. The hotel was a little noisy since it is right off of a well-traveled road and we heard loud motorcycles well into the night. The mattress was fine for me, but some others in my group complained about it being too firm.

What a great place to stay for the night before our flight. The beds are firm, which I like, and the pillows are probably the most comfortable pillows of all my travels. The fish tacos were excellent and the gallo pinto in the typico breakfast was the best I’ve had on 2 trips to Costa Rica. The place was very clean. Hot water in the showers was excellent and the water pressure is the highest pressure I’ve seen anywhere including my own home in the States. The one negative is the street noise. It was extremely loud in our standard room. We were not in a room facing the street but on the back side of the building near the street. The motorcycles and big trucks did finally quiet down from about 10 or 11 pm until maybe 6 am.

For our last night in Costa Rica this did the trick. We would not stay anymore than one night a there is NO TV, It's an older property and it showed, there was hot water when I took a shower, but when my husband went in, it was cold. It's noisy being next to the main the road. There is nothing really to do around it and no ice available. There were HUGE spiders everywhere outside. However, the people were very nice and I felt very safe with the guard there all the time. We didn't really eat dinner or breakfast as we wanted something different, but the menu was fair and so was the price for the room. My husband did not mind saving $100 for the night by Not going to a big name hotel and staying there.

The environment is beautiful, peaceful and quiet. The staff are extremely proficient and friendly. Thre are only a couple of things that need improving invluding adding a diverse menu with great portions. For example, being a tropical country the fruit salad would be one of the best dishes but it left alot to be desired. The second thing to improve would be the bathrooms..they flood while one is taking a shower and the entire space gets wet. Apart from this I would stay here again. Its a very beautifully designed, decorated and comfortable villa.
