I love the walking areas and the sound of nature at night and in the early morning. Breakfast was delicious. The shower was spacious and water pressure good! Beds were comfortable. I loved the garden and the cold towel the front reception gives you upon arrival. I wish I could have stayed longer here, but my flight home was early in the morning. Beautiful property with views of the mountains. Restaurant was good and so were the drinks. Would love to come back.

This hotel checked a lot of boxes - close to the airport without being in the city, the villa we stayed in had a beautiful balcony overlooking the city, coffee and banana trees all around, with bird-watching/listening (saw a family of green parrots, too) first thing in the morning. The complimentary breakfast (choice of pancakes, huevos rancheros, traditional costa rican rice and beans) was small but adding coffee, juice, toast and sweet cornbread from the bread station made it sufficient. We had a rental car and were just barely able to park in the full parking lot. I highly recommend going out to eat at Restaurante El Mirador del Valle - a 3m drive or walk up the hill - which has an incredible view, a parking attendant, and was empty on Friday night before 8pm. The airport is a quick drive away depending on traffic. There is a very small playground, a short coffee trail, a small pool (which was just big enough for our small group), Britt espresso coffee pods and espresso machine in our villa. You can hear traffic from the nearby road at night, but it wasn't too disruptive. The staff was kind and helpful.

They don’t have AC but it wasn’t needed in May. What really sets this hotel apart, though, is the staff. Every single person we encountered went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and stress-free. Their hospitality was genuine and heartfelt, and they truly helped make our trip even more memorable.
The shuttle service was another huge plus—convenient, reliable, and incredibly helpful. Shout out to Jonathan!

It was a good place up 4,000 ft above sea level. Felt cool in the May morning (upper 60’s). The hotel had a coffee walking trail in property. We had a great balcony view of the city. Staff was always very helpful. Good was decent. Prices were in US dollars. There’s no AC in the rooms but it was ok with the ceiling fan at night. Getting to the hotel from downtown can take 45-60 minutes just because of the heavy traffic all over town. Overall good experience.

The king size bed was so heavenly! The room was spacious and clean. I didn't like the smell of the soaps and shampoos provided, but I had my own anyway. There is no countertop space in the bathroom but that wasn't much of an issue. We didn't get to explore the hotel much, but it was a nice stay. It was a 30 minute drive to the airport without traffic, but the driver told us it can take up to an hour and a half in heavy traffic!

Only 30 min from the airport, up in the coffee covered hills above the very vibrant Alajuela neighborhood, is the best, not too expensive hotel in San Jose. Wonderful staff, beautiful grounds and gardens, nice food and a very relaxing setting. We really enjoy spending our last night, after puddle jumping and before getting on that big old jet liner, just decompressing in affordable luxury. Go there, you'll be glad you did.

I loved the property, we stayed in the villa #1 which was big and beautiful. There were paths leading from the accommodations down the mountains with beautiful trees, flowers butterflies etc. The view from the villa was magnificent. The restaurant was convenient and had mostly friendly staff but i would have preferred a more Costa Rican cuisine and maybe sell a few snacks at the front desk. I really would have loved if they had a relationship with one of the local restaurants to do deliveries! That would've been awesome since the local food was delicious! The t.v shoes were only in Spanish which I understand but the remote has an English input that didn't work. Over all I would recommend the hotel. I went during the rainy season so we didn't have to deal with any crowds.

Beautiful little hotel upon a mountain side. Staff was excellent and the grounds were very pretty. Only downside was it took 10 to 20 minutes to get down to the main highway and tour companies would not pick you up from there. You have to hire their shuttle to take you or an Uber is much cheaper.

I will say that if you're planning on staying at this hotel your best bet is to rent a car. Everything is far away. We loved walking and unfortunately we couldn't do any of that around the hotel because there's no sidewalks to walk offsite. The nearest attraction that we wanted to see was the Volcan Poas, but it was closed due to being active. So, check before you go. The beaches were also far away, we had to drive 3 hrs to get to a beach.

The property was beautiful and clean. The only downfall was the lack of air conditioning. We did not think to ask if they had air conditioning because we took it for granted that they had air. We’ve never been anywhere without air conditioning. The other downfall was the shower. It was horrible. There was no pressure at all. It took you a good hour to rinse off.

This little gem was a breathtaking. We were picked up by their shuttle and Jonathan was extremely polite. He drove us to this secluded place where Buena Vista is located. The place is located in a forest area. The property is surrounded by trees and flowers. It’s a place where one can relax, enjoy the view of nature and overlooking the mountains and city. You will find inner peace at this location. The staff are excellent and extremely friendly! They were very welcoming. We even had a chat with the owner of the place. It’s rare to stay in a hotel where the owner will engage in conversation with their guests. We enjoyed this hotel truly. We stayed for two nights and will definitely be back again! The grounds were gorgeous, and very enjoyable to walk through. We sat in lawn chairs and watched mot mots, aracari, and other birds. The on-site restaurant was fantastic as well! This is a perfect small hotel, which we overnighted at between flights returning to USA. The pool was warm enough to enjoy, there were lots of places to use outdoor chairs to enjoy the gardens and the birdwatching was excellent right there. Wonderful to have restaurant right here.

This is a great property located about 20 minutes away from the airport. It has an amazing view of the capital. Although it is a small hotel, my family and I enjoyed it. It is quiet, safe and the staff is professional, polite and attentive. It is not crowded! The hotel offers free transportation from/to the airport. If you are checking out early, make sure to let the receptionist know, so you can enjoy a sack breafast to eat on your way to the airport. The only reason I'm not giving the excellent rating is due to the unstable internet in my room and no AC. However the tempature in the room was not that hot.

Very nice property overall, the room was a little humid and damp due ti all the rain. No A/C in the room to help control the dampness would recommend a portable dehumidifier. The sofa bed was really bad. Thankfully it was just our kids that slept on it but it had server spring issues (picture the movie money pit :))

The place is located in a small town, but under 30 minutes driving distance to the San Jose airport. The staff was nothing but friendly and attentive. The views from the hotel are spectacular, it felt like we were at a high-end luxurious resort. The villas are very spacious and all have beautiful views from their balconies. The hotel even has private trails you can walk. The breakfast included was a la carte, and delicious. Highly recommend this hotel!
