After we checked in with Simon, who was very kind and thorough, we were greeted by Marvin who assisted us with our bags to our room. Marvin was super friendly, kind and helpful. We had been traveling for hours from Jaco and were very interested in getting a meal. We went to the hotel restaurant and thankfully the host told us that if we wanted to order food, due to only one chef being present we would have to wait for 45 minutes. We asked one of the concierge people outside who told us about the restaurants in the plaza across the highway. On foot we were able to cross the bridge and ended up getting food from one of those restaurants. Once we returned to the hotel I requested some face cloths, waited for a long while and they did not come. I requested again and was initially only given large bath towels. I requested again and was brought hand towels and was told that there were no more face towels at that moment. It was already late in the evening and we had a flight the next day. We checked in on the \"hot tub\" which we understood to be a \"hot tub\" but was cool water. Attempting to sleep was terribly loud due to the passing traffic on the highway. The windows and the wall behind us shook with the wind, the curtains were old and needed to be changed to black-out curtains or at the minimum be custom fit so the high beam lights from the outside did not peer inside our windows.

Breakfast was very good and did not disappoint. The airport shuttle was also great.

The room was extremely dirty, there was dirt all over the floor and the bathroom was very poorly maintained. There was mold and dirt in every crack of the bathroom. The staff was lovely and the shuttle to the airport was very convenient!

This was not up to the standard of a Wyndham in general and certainly not what was advertised. There were no hot tubs. None of the restaurants were functional, and the place was extremely understaffed. The staff for room service was extremely overworked doing other hotel maintenance and therefore there was really no room service available. I ended up having to download and order from a delivery app. I also ordered a to go breakfast because of Ramadan and initially I was told they couldn’t accommodate, despite the fact that breakfast was included in my reservation. I was only provided miscellaneous nuts, one apple, and one bottle of water. There was also no ability for me to make tea or have a hot bath because my bath would not stay full. The tub was also pretty disgusting. There were bits of paint chips and black anti-slip tape littering it. My goal was to stay at a relaxing 3 star hotel before my 12 hour journey home, and I wasn’t even able to take a hot bath enjoy a mug of hot tea or have a proper breakfast. Not to mention the fact that one of the staff was extremely unprofessional and put their hands on me twice after invading my personal space . When I made complaints about all of these things, the on-site “human resources“ staff was beyond unhelpful. The entirety of the experience was beyond disappointing.

This place is horrible and has no customer service! Would not recommend this place to anyone. I fell and nobody said sorry asked if I was ok or offered a dr. I was told a manager would talk with me today at 10 then they are in meetings all day. Now they have to send in a request for possibly gettin their insurance to go to the dr. That should have been offered at the time of the fall not the next day when I have to catch a flight

Just be prepared, this place is very old, and it shows. I highly recommend requesting a room in the tower. We were originally given a room in the 1000 corridor. It looks like the carpet in the hallway hadn’t been changed in 40 years. Everything was so old and worn out! The staff was nice and accommodating. They were able to give us a room in the tower, which was slightly newer. However, nothing about this place is very nice. The nicest spot is the entry when you arrive. The views from the rooms are a factories and fences.

The staff was great, really friendly, accommodating, and kind. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The main jacuzzi pool, wading pool, and deep pool that are together were nice, albeit a tad run down. The hotel itself is very run down and is dire need of some deep cleaning. We passed a hairball on the carpeted hallway multiple times in a few hour period.

The staff went above and beyond and were very friendly. I don’t even got to get in the spa last minute, which was a wonderful treat. They just need to update some things. I noticed a lot of roof damage and areas around the pool that needed to be cleaned and updated.

Stayed here for an overnight prior to flying back to Canada. Everything was wonderful including the food at the restaurant. The shuttle picked us up at the domestic airport and dropped us off the next morning - both on time with no issues. Highly recommend this hotel.

The Hotel has been here a very long time and unfortunately is in need of a big overhaul, imo. Beds fine, and brekkie buffet was very good. Two restaurants on site unfortunately were out of a few menu items for dinner, and their Pattacones were as hard as Hockey Pucks and totally unedible at the Casino Restaurant. Staff, however, are very professional. No Smart 📺 Tv, too. This Review is in my opinion only, though…~~~

Nice play to stay for a layover. We arrived in the afternoon before taking the shuttle to the airport the next morning. The staff was great and allowed us to use the facilities as we arrived early. They graciously stored our luggage until checking in. The pool area was nice. My only complaint was that the spa area was not heated. Would recommend. We had a nice suite and it was a good value.

The staff was nice and responsive at this hotel. However, the entire place is in dire need of an upgrade. Lots of little things like a bedside lamp with a broken switch, a showerhead that barely functioned (they did replace it when we asked at the desk), and insufficient hot water. The mattress was uncomfortable too. The have a good airport shuttle and convenient restaurants across the highway, so it was sufficient for our two nights in the city. Just take your shower in the evening and plan to eat out.

Was prepared to dislike this hotel but it turned out to be ok for a nights stay after flying into San Jose in the early evening. Staff throughout stay were pleasant and helpful, rooms bordering onto pools were basic and needed refurbishment but were again OK, breakfast pleasant and the hotel had great natural internal air circulation which helped keep it cool

I really wanted to leave the hotel a higher review but i have to be honest or there wont be any improvement for future guests. I really want to first comment on how courteous and professional the staff were...specifically Maria and Stif. They both took great care of me and i really appreciate them. However, the reason for my 3 vs. 5 stars is the hotel was without hot water for days 1-5 and 9-10 of my 10 night stay. The fix was out of either of their control and Maria was kind enough to compensate me a couple meals but i have to say the tepid showers really ruined my experience here. I later found out through a little bird that the hotel had been experiencing hot water issues 3 weeks before i ever arrived. When i brought it up i was led to believe i was the first person to mention the issue. I feel i was decieved and the hotel should have reached out to there incoming guests before arrival to at least give them the opportunity to change their plans if need be. It would have been extremely expensive for me to adjust my reservations to another hotel by waiting until the night of arrival. When i looked it would have cost me an additional 600 for a nearby hotel being that i booked my reservation about 6 months in advance. Im not gonna beat a dead horse but I felt this was not what you would expect from a name like The Wyndham. To end on a good note, the breakfast and the staff, the gym and the staff and finally the housekeeping and staff were incredible people as well as facilitie

We were only there for like 10 hours. The hot tub was cold, the shower sucked, we ordered a shuttle for 2 AM to go to the airport that wasn't there and we had to order an Uber. The TV in our room we couldn't get any shows for my kids to watch. I'm sure this hotel was great 20 years ago, but it's time to do some updates.

The common areas like the lobby and the pools are lovely. They take pride in their gardening and it shows. The staff were all helpful and courteous. The hotel is working to rejuvenate rooms and hallways. As I walked around I could see that some areas had been refurbished. Unfortunately, our room was not one of them. But, we still felt it was good value for us and appreciated the breakfast, resort like atmosphere and the complimentary airport shuttle.

Pros:
The location is very convenient — it’s close to the airport and near most of the rental car facilities, which makes travel logistics easy. The rooms are generally clean and more spacious than what you might expect in this area, which is definitely a plus.

Cons:
The building itself is old, and the bathrooms are clearly outdated. No matter which room I’ve stayed in, the showers always look worn and somewhat dirty due to age and condition. The overall property could really benefit from renovations.

The pricing for food is also disappointing. Breakfast was $40 for two people, which feels excessive for what is offered. The on-site restaurant, Quatro, was even more underwhelming — $145 for two people and the food quality did not justify the price at all.

Overall, the location and room size are strong points, but the outdated facilities and overpriced dining options make it hard to fully recommend without improvements.

The room was spacious with a nice desk for work. Furniture was slightly damaged and the room and hall carpets were worn. There was no daily service to the room (I was only there for one full day), and there was no hot water. Staff was very friendly and helpful and printed out a document for me. Breakfast was good. There is an excellent gym.

This hotel is a great value for the price. It is a beautiful property with a lot of amenities. The room was a bit dated but AMAZINGLY clean and well appointed. The grounds are immaculate. We had dinner at the bar-delicious and breakfast was superb. The options for breakfast were immense and the coffee—DELICIOUS! The staff was outstanding from the time our car door was opened until we left.

The room was in good condition. The staff were helpful but found them to not answer when we called before arriving and unresponsive on the WhatsApp number they provide to use during your stay. Unfortunately the hot water was not fully operating during our stay. The gym was by far the best equipped I have seen in a hotel while travelling. I do recommend some more options at breakfast for vegans and people who have lactose intolerance.

The staff was extremely courteous and willing to assist at all times. The room itself looked a little outdated and it took a little while for the water in the tub to go down. We had it checked out, but I guess it’s just the way it is over there. The coffee shop was a plus! Location, it’s super close to the airport but if you want to go into the city, be prepared for the traffic! The breakfast buffet could use a little variety, but whatever they lacked, they made up in service, the people were so kind!

Everything about this stay was perfect. The convenient location near the airport, the low price, and the customer service was absolutely perfect. I take the bus to and from San Jose and the shuttle to the airport. The rooms are very clean and the bed is very comfortable. I exercise in the gymnasium on occasion and it is also perfect. The pool looks great and I will swim next time. Thank you for a pleasant stay!

Check in took forever and was chaotic. Not sure if the agent helping me was training other staff or what… but kept switching between Spanish and English and leaving me standing there while she talked to other staff.
Room was quite old and run down. Human hair in the bathtub that was not mine. Rusted out hole in the back of the tub. Bed was hard and uncomfortable. Doors are not good sound barriers and you can hear everything from adjoining rooms and hallway in your room.
Does NOT have hot tubs. They are “jacuzzi” tubs that bubble air in cold water.

Rooms were large, clean and comfortable we thought it was good value compared to other large chain hotels a little closer to the airport. They provided a free shuffle to the airport which was great!
