The hotel is marketed at clothing optional but everyone wears clothes. The hotel is quiet and it doesn't appear to have much patronage. The communal area is small and tight...perhaps too small to be comfortable. They have a lot of dining areas throughout the hotel to sit at a table but little room around the pool area.

The room and stay was great! Had own private entrance and cute patio. Liz was amazing! Omar is great as well!! Liz looked out for my every request and more. I stayed there for a few days with no problem. There is a bar and a kitchen on the property as well as a pool!

The area is a few miles from downtown area and if you need to shop for groceries or eat at other restaurants, they’re all in walking distance from the hotel

after hours the doors are locked but there was a person always at the counter to let me in. All the staff made me feel welcomed . I plan to come back soon!

There was a friendly and inviting vibe. It is adults, males and females. A nice swimming pool and deck area, indoor and outdoor seating at the restaurant or up at the bar. The room was very spacious and comfortable.

Overall, it was an amazing experience and place to stay. Everyone on the staff was super friendly and welcoming. I also really liked the atmosphere. I wish it was a bit busier, but it was also nice having the peace and quiet. Could have more vegan options, but they did have some. Would definitely come back

The owners and most staff are friendly and helpful. Liz even arranged a private tour for me, since almost all tours require 2 tickets minimum to join, I don't know why?. I'm traveling solo... The private tour cost about the same as 1 ticket.
When I wanted to move to a hotel downtown, Liz helped me get one in Central downtown, clean and affordable.
If you are gay or just like quietness, this hotel is great for you and partner : Adults Only!!!

They double charged me for my room on January 30 and the 31st. Alyssa or whatever the hell her name is came up to the room and told me that she would reimburse me as soon as Expedia contacted her. So I get a message that no they’re not going to honor that they made a huge mistake and will take my money of $186.
The hotel wasn’t that great and I will never stay there again. This is the way they treat their customers.

The staff are incredibly friendly, and we met some nice folks staying there. The pool area and bar are lovely.

Our room smelled moldy and was very outdated. We stood in 3” of water every time we showered, since it didn’t drain properly. The owner was not very nice and the place needs a severe upgrading. We would not stay there again.

Dont waste your money.
Location- very deserted area, at night time felt unsafe to walk alone.
Property-
Pool area was very pretty. Bar area was clean.
Room -Outdated rooms, terrible bathroom, rusted shower heads, lack of basic toiletries. Lighting in the room felt like we are in office.
Restaurants- Nearby we found nice Italian restaurant , where food was delicious and owner was adorable.
Staff- Staff was very helpful and sweet to attend needs.

I know times are hard, but a little TLC would go a long way as this place is dated!
Horrible bright white bulbs (when some aren’t missing), broken lamps, Shower Gel holder empty, no toilet paper.
Staff didn’t speak any English (and asked me to pay although I had paid through Expedia already), which is fine if you provide some information in English on a card or something. Wasn’t given the Wi-Fi password or any other information

The staff at Colours Oasis are really nice and helpful. highly recommend the classic Costa Rican breakfast and lunches. Plenty of maps and tour options are available for booking at the front desk. Pharmacy and convenience stores are close by for anything you might need.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming from the minute i arrived (early check-in, as i was travelling from the South)The bartender/mixologist,Riccardo, was fab at his job,the chef,Carlos cooked the best food I've tasted in a long time(would put some of the chefs I've worked with in London to shame,and the gorgeous Christian made my stay very special. Stay Away - totally gross!

I would never recommend this place. It is disgusting. From the food to the rooms, it should be shut down. I assume Costa Rica doesn’t have a health department that monitors such propertiee.
There was a dog walking in the kitchen while cooking and inside the bar. The bartenders would put the dog and then serve food and drinks.
I can not tell you enough to stay away from this gross establishment.

The name isn’t what it suggests. It’s very seedy. Sheets weren’t clean, significant mould on the shower head. The people running the place were lovely and helpful, but for what you’re paying there’s loads of other places to go

It’s a party place, not a put your head down and sleep place.

Overall great people and fun place to stay that is safe and quiet away from downtown San Jose.
They were great to change my room to a nice one because the shower was dribbling in the smaller room that they received. But there is the problem, minor attention to detail. The shower pressure was fine, but the shower head (a small cost) needed to be replaced. Just small things like cups in the room are missing. But overall, great time!

When I arrived, the reception staff seemed confused, like they didn't realize I had a reservation and did not take time to explain or show me the property. When I got to the room it was missing many things: towels, a shower curtain, a key for the safe, hand/body soap and shampoo. The room also did not have a mini-fridge. The hotel bar plays loud music from around 8am to 1 or 2am, and the bass is audible throughout the hotel, making sleep difficult. Also there is nothing to do in the area where the hotel is located, and dining options are extremely limited.

It wasn’t what I expected. I thought it was inclusive (all). However, I get the meaning of how they use that word. The room was average…Nothing special at all. Certain things in room were broken. The area wasn’t great. The food was good until the last night. I have diarrhea since I ate that food Tuesday night. I believe the fries may have been undercooked. I didn’t have this problem until I ate that meal. The plane ride and airport was a horrible experience due to stomach cramps and diarrhea. The property is fairly old. The staff was pleasant but other than that…It wasn't the best experience.

The resort employees were very friendly and helpful. The accommodations were aged and in need of lots of repairs. The tv was missing from our room. The towels were old and ragged and part of the ceiling was missing and open to the roof above. The sofas were hard as rocks and the property was very distressed. The linens were worn thread bare. I was surprised that several guests there commented on how nice the place was as I found it to be very rundown. The setting was welcoming and the people were lovely.

I had a reservation here March 2022 and was excited to support and stay at gay-owned business during my visit to beautiful Costa Rica. However my room was not as described.

There was:
- Mold on the wall next to the glass door
- The sliding glass door did not lock
- The “garden” was a mess and there was a secret pathway that allowed entry into the garden and the room (the glass door didn’t lock)
- There were holes on the ceiling exposed to the sky above
- The room had a distinct odor
- Overall it was unsafe

I will say that the two staff I spoke to were very nice but nothing about the room was acceptable or as advertised. I stayed for approximately 3 hours and left to find another hotel.

I reached out to the hotel for a resolution but none was ever provided.

The staff was great. They were very helpful when showing up with luggage. The receptionist was very helpful with information and helping to print Covid forms.
The cleaning staff produced a bottle of shampoo when I pointed out that there was no shampoo or shower gel in the room.

Cons

The property advertised a continental breakfast, but what was made available was pretty shabby, especially when compared to complimentary breakfasts at all of the other properties we stayed at on our trip. It was generally served an hour after the advertised 7 am time. You could order and pay for a decent breakfast. The toilet stopper in our room leaked, so the tank filled every few minutes throughout the day and night. Three separate roof leaks in our room, thankfully none over the bed. Sheets, towels, bedding, and bed well past their prime. Two towels and one wash cloth — no other towels provided. No wi-fi in room. Lukewarm water 2 out of 4 times using the shower. A single hand-drying washcloth in lobby bathroom that was not changed all day. No paper towels or hand dryer anywhere in common restrooms or rooms.
Kitchenette in room with no plates, glasses, spoons, or anything really useful. Lots of attention to bar area. Very little attention to quality of rooms. Bed felt broken in the middle - creaked a lot when sitting down. Room safe too small to be practical and not big enough for computer or camera. Can only fit papers, jewelry, and passport in safe.

Summary: Paid more for less.

Very disappointing. The hotel had no parking, had to park on the street. The “receptionist” wasn’t wearing a mask, took him forever to find the reservation (ended being from Expedia.. not sure why). He didn’t know what kind of room was reserved, so he guessed it. He led us to a small room right behind the bar (very noisy), it was very small with no windows, nor ventilation, bathroom and restroom on opposite sides of the room, the sink was right next to the bed. Bed was not comfortable, bed sheets and pillows were bad quality though clean. Certainly not coming back!

I reserved this place last minute as I was only staying in San Juan for a night. However, I’ve fallen in love with this place.

The bar tenders and wait staff made this gringo feel so welcomed and part of the little community they’ve created here.

I arrived at midnight and talked to the bartenders and then naturally with the other guests. The breakfast is first rate. The pool is lovely with sunny and shaded parts as the day goes by.

The room I stayed in was clean, minimal with little natural light but it did the job. Especially considering I was so happy to be by the bar and the pool.

Great place for young people who want to party. The rooms are close to the bar and you can hear the music and talking from the rooms. Luckily due to the curfew it only went on till 10pm. It's dated and not worth the full price it was advertised at, the electrics and shower and toilets need upgrading. We could also hear everything happening in the room next door. Luckily we were only staying one night.

It was very clean though and staff were very helpful and friendly.

At first the room offered had not a clean toilet, the shower curtain had some moldew and the bathroom was really small. When brought up the issue to the guy from reception he was responsive enough to relocate us to a very nice room with ample space. The pool area and restaurant was perfect to socialize. If if were because of the staff I would have given a high review but the rooms and pool left no good impression. For a place that claims having won a 2018 award it was very disappointing. Our room had a little patio with some furniture, the pillows over the chairs were nasty, stained and dirty. We also got some rugged towels left in the room. The pool had some mold all over, like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. Based on the price, would not recommend this place at all.

Very nice staff who tried their best. Poor and few food choices, my room stank of chlorine, poor internet, little choice in food or activities in the vicinity. The safe in my room had a lock but I have no idea where the key was. The door to my room wouldn’t close well from the inside and I found it wide open when I woke up.

This hotel was truly an Oasis in the city. It was really comfortable, friendly, and a nice place to be after a hectic drive around the country.

Amazing...! The place was beautiful nice pool and jacuzzi, but the best part was the employees treated us very nice, also we meet really friendly travelers from all over and the food was great. Thanks Adan the cook 👨‍🍳

Hilariously bad service

We tried to make use of the bar/restaurant a couple of times but were either kept waiting forever or told they out of half the things on the menu. It’s a good thing the rest of the city is only a short ride away!
