Spacious apartment, only one key for it so it was a bit of a juggle getting it cleaned and clean towels. Another key for cleaner is necesary. I was told i had to pay for use of washing machine, this is not clear in the advert. Beds very comfy as were pillows. The climb to get into the bath to have a shower was too high and risky when you climbed in and out. No good for anyone with mobility issues. The pipe from the shower head was too short meaning it wouldnt go on the overhead hook, you had to stand and hold the shower head in one hand whilst trying to wash hair with the other whilst bending over! No mirrors in bedrooms, mirror in hallway part but no plug by it for hairdryer. I would say basic accomodation that needs updating. Breakfast okay. If these issues were addressed it would have higher rating for dure. Great location.

Dallying in Dubrovnik

It was just an overnight stop and basic but comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful which was much appreciated as we’d had a long distance to travel that day. There were a couple of decent restaurants just down the hill which were open late and where the service was excellent and friendly ( we tried the Italian one!).

The property is along the main road between Dubrovnik and Cavtat with bus service (about 3 Euro) either direction within a 5 min walk. Also, it is a short walk to the beach and the Sheraton Resort area. The owners are very nice and provided good information relative to the area. Breakfast was very good. The pool was not open yet. The rooms were clean and sufficient size. A/C was adjustable and Wifi was good. Upper level had a view of the Adriatic.

To start with the map link took us to the wrong hotel about 10km away. No one was at reception when we arrived so we were given a key and showed to our room without a full check in. Then when we were eating breakfast the next morning, we were accused of not paying in front of the other hotel guests.

The place is very nice and staffs are very friendly. I and my gf enjoyed our stay there. However I believe there are 2 things that can be improved:
1. WIFI coverage was not good for the upstair flats at all, however in other part of building it was good.
2. Toilet papers were not sufficient for our room: one small roll for 2 people per day.

The other things in this place were great and we love the location as well

Modern and beautiful place.

We really enjoyed our stay in this guest house. It is beautiful, and everything worked perfectly. The beach is close and the bus stop is 5 minutes walk. The route is very scenic to go to Dubrovnik. The breakfast is good. The staff is very attentive. We were looking for mustard for our breakfast frankfurters. Although they did not have any, they provided it by the next morning breakfast.

Clean and comfortable

Comfortable beds and a decent breakfast. The staff are lovely and very helpful and the location is good for buses or boats each way to Dubrovnik or Cavtat. Nice beaches and a park near by and easy walking distance to Mlini which is nicer than Srebreno. The pool is small and needs more loungers but it’s a lovely setting and is clean. The down side is the traffic noise as it is beside a very busy road and our rooms needed some repairs and painting. We got a good discount but I wouldn’t pay full price because of the lack of maintenance.

Not really. The hotel is too far from the beach to have any kind of sea view, at least from what I saw. But the building is new and clean and very nice. I was pleasantly surprised.
The room was tiny but for one person, it was manageable. The little balcony was nice, as I had to wash the clothes I was wearing and put them out there to dry. My bag had gotten lost, so I had only the clothes I was wearing and no toiletry items. Thankfully, There was a pump bottle of soap near the sink and this helped a lot. Breakfast was decent, staff very nice.

We stayed here for 4 nights. We were given the VIP room which was very nice and had kitchen facilities. The room was not serviced during our 4 night stay. We had to buy toilet paper and the bins were never emptied. The hotel was in a very good location but you had to cross a very busy road to reach nearby restaurants and the beach. There was a market was 5 mins away along with a bus stop which took you into Dubrovnik. Please be aware the property does not accept credit cards only cash and does not have the facility to exchange money. We were caught out on both occasions and had to find a bank before we could catch the bus and also on the morning of our departure we were asked to pay for our room in cash. Would not stay here again as there were plenty of other properties closer to the beach and restaurants.

Simple, comfortable, modern

The Avantgarde is a simple, but very comfortable and modern family-run hotel; easily found, being situated on the Dubrovnik to / from Airport coast road. Strictly speaking it's in Srebreno, though to all intents and purposes, it's in Mlini - a small community with a pleasant harbour, along with some waterside restaurants. From Mlini, it's just 10 minutes to the airport or, in the other direction, 15 minutes to Dubrovnik. There are several small villages in either direction so finding a quiet place to eat or to swim is blissfully easy. The welcome at the hotel was very warm with fresh juice being provided on arrival. Breakfast is simple but filling - being made up of breads and meats / cheeses. The room we stayed in was vey comfortable and spacious - the only (minor) criticism is the lack of window blinds / shutters which meant sleeping beyond sun-up was difficult. There's an underground garage attached to the property where your car can be kept away from the heat - very useful

Nice to be away from the old town, pretty quiet beach just a walk away & good restaurants with friendly staff. The hotel itself is interesting...new but very badly designed with things not finished. It was like basil faulty had designed it! But it was clean, comfy & the lady running the place was very sweet & helpful.

Close to airport,

We stayed here for our last night as it was close to the airport and had a pool. We got the number 10 bus from Dubrovnik (to Srebreno) which stopped a 3-4 min walk down the road to the accommodation-perfect! The hotel reminded me of a budget type hotel-modern, clean but with some traits like the odd wire hanging out from a wall! It was perfect for our needs.Breakfast was also included.
Disappointingly the pool wasn't available to us due to the bad weather they'd had recently it wasn't in a state to be used apparently which was a real shame but there was a lovely, quiet beach 5-10 mins walk. The area was much quieter and smaller than anywhere else we'd stayed on our trip which was a refreshing change but I wouldn't have wanted to stay here for more than 1-2 nights. We ate at Restaurant Srebreno which was a lovely meal and 5 min walk from the hotel. There seemed to be some building works and regeneration of existing bars so I suspect this will be a very different place in a couple of years. Owner was pleasant and gave us the use of a spare apartment after we'd checked out so we could leave our luggage and have a shower before travelling home.
Just what we needed for a nights stay.

Stayed here for 1 week with friends. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 15 minutes from the Dubrovnik airport with Atlas Tour transfer 35 HRK per person one way departing from outside of the terminal building), 15 minutes to Dubrovnik Old Town (local transport - Libertas 18 HRK per person, one way , 5 minutes to the beach, local shops, restaurants & bars.
Villa was modern and clean. Our apartment contained nice big terrace, balcony with sea view, fully fitted kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms and walk-in closet, complimentary wifi and satellite TV also available. Ana was a great host and looked after us since the moment we arrived until we left. Great to have continental breakfast included in the price served from 8.00 until 10.00 daily. BBQ area and small pool available in the back of the villa - great to enjoy in the evening when back from the beach.

Probably best during high season

We stayed here in May and it was very quiet. The weather was hot but still the pool was not available, this was a little annoying as it was advertised as having a pool and this was part of the reason we booked. Next the wifi broke, this was not the fault of the hotel. Ht still quite annoying. Our room had clearly not been used for a while so was very damp and stuffy for the first night. We were able to leave a window open for the day the next day that seemed to help this but the bedding was still damp. The lady looking after the place was lovely; very helpful and even took us to the airport for a small fee which meant we didn't have to worry about a taxi. Also I wouldn't take children in a stroller unless you have a car as there are no foot paths.

Avantgarde Experience

The location of the villa is perfect as it is really easy to access the beaches and sites such as Mlini, Cavtat and Dubrovnik Old town. The facilities and rooms are spotless, comfortable and very well kept. Near the villa there is a bar area with a refreshing swimming pool. The staff makes customers feel right at home and spend significant personal time providing information about where to go, what to see and what to avoid. A truly remarkable experience, especially due to the personal touch. In the apartment we had a small terrace with a kitchen, great value for money. The town of Mlini was a great surprise, it is absolutely beautiful, it was not as uncomfortable to visit as other towns in the area, there is absolutely no need for a car.

nice hotel, close to beach, quiet area.

The place is run by Anna, who does everything, but nothing is too much trouble.
Breakfast (8-10) consists of fresh bread, cheese and a choice of meats which are brought to your table. There is also fruit, cereal and tea and coffee.
The pool is very small, but clean and the area is nice with sea view.
There are small parts of the road with no pavement so not a good place for wheel chairs or prams.
We only went to Dubrovnik old town once, we did day trips to Montenegro, Bosnia and a day trip on a pirate boat to 3 islands. The bus fare was a flat 15 kuna (about £1.80). They drive on the right, so when you go to the bus stop for dubrovnik you need to be on the right. The bus stops are very near to the hotel.
There are 2 ways to get to the beach, one involves lot of stairs, the other doesn't. If you come out of the hotel and turn right, walk down to the lights at the junction and then turn left and follow the road down it will take you past bars and restaurants to the beach. It is well lit of a night, and safer than dealing with stairs with no hand rail.

As the hotel is run by one woman, she cannot maintain a 24 hour reception. Not knowing this, I checked in around 2230. After finally getting ahold of her, my check in went smoothly. She showed me the garage to park in and my large room that opens into the breakfast area. The place is pretty quiet and I would gladly stay here again. I even added a few days to my stay.

Short but sweet

Very smart little hotel, professionally run. The rooms are generously sized and well equipped with large bed (two singles pushed together) sofa, TV, desk, balcony and decent shower room (although the water was initially cold because the power switch had be turned off).

The breakfast was a good tasty continental spread. Outside the pool was small and neat with sunbeds around. We didn't get the chance to walk to the beach that was nearby. Close to the hotel were several restaurants and other amenities.

The bus into Dubrovnik is very quick, convenient and cheap. Don't be tempted by taxis!

We were told Avant garde was in Dubrovnik and its in Mlini ! All printed info on confirmation was incorrect regarding distances to tourist spots,as was Google map directions and Hotel.com site info. It felt like a bait and switch situation (on the hotel's part).

Nice and clean and very good and friendly service, but the site (including your search engine) indicated 0.8 km to the old city hall (an easy walking distance) and it was more like 8 km from it, which meant I had to take the random city bus, not at all what I had in mind. Is the info provided by the hotels ever verified?

This Place is Amazing!

What a great find! Rooms are modern, clean, comfy, and with plenty of space. Kitchen has all the equipment you need to cook up a nice meal if you're travelling on a budget. An AMAZING breakfast is provided in the morning by the owner (a lovely, friendly lady) and she can answer any of your questions about the local area such as how to get around e.t.c.

The hotel is a 10 minute bus ride from the Old Town and runs frequently. Situated about 5 mins walk from the hotel are mini markets and a really nice bakery. Also, the hotel is just a 10 minute walk from a beach, harbour and restaurant area where you can relax or book an excursion.

I couldn't recommend this place enough.

We had a premium apartment With 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed. The sofa bed was not really functioning so it had to stay as a bed the whole time. The kitchen worked well with 4 hot zones and we actually cooked some meals during our 9 nights at Avantgarde. The bathrooms were ok but had some black spots in the corners and some undefined leakage in the ceiling. We did not use the small pool at all since the water looked a bit milky. On the positive side, we had a nice size balcony with sea view, only 7 minutes walk down to the great Srebreno beach with clean water and nice restaurants and bars. Also, only 3-4 minutes walk to the well stocked supermarket.

Posizione strategica per raggiungere a piedi due spiagge, in prossimità c'è un centro commerciale e dei ristoranti. A circa 15 min di auto sia da Cavtat che Dubrovnik. Stanze parzialmente ristrutturate (i sanitari e doccia andrebbero rinnovati). Colazione poco abbondante nel dolce e la maggior parte del salato è di produzione propria. Partenza last minute, arrivò in aeroporto cercando alle 9 di sera un albergo disponibile. Tutto prenotato ovunque! in zona tranne un buco per sbaglio per una notte on questo albergo. Il ragazzo alla reception super gentile mi aiuta con le valige e mi aiuta con una sistemazione da un’altra parte per il giorno seguente. Posto carino, piscina aperta 24h su 24. La colazione alla mattina e troppo presto per i miei gusti. Chi fa colazione alle 7 e mezza in vacanza in agosto? Però si userà così.

Ruimte voor verbeteringen, leuke plek!

Zwembad niet heel groot en zuivering kan iets beter. Vooral als het appartement helemaal vol zou zijn. De afwerking van ons appartement was niet netjes (gebroken tegeltjes, Keuken die niet paste, kastjes die bijna van de muur kwamen). Ook de afwerking bij het zwembad kan beter. gaten met elektra net naast het bad. Niet slecht maar het had mooier gekund.

Mooie locatie, vlakbij een fijn strand met kiezels maar in het water zand. Grote supermarkt in de buurt en Mlini (op loopafstand) erg schattig dorpje.

Communicatie bij aankomst en met de ontbijt dame waren slecht.

Ontbijt ook erg basic. Had met kleine aanpassingen een stuk leuker gekund.

Verder prima verblijf.

Tout d'abord, en arrivant et en partant y avait personne à l'accueil on a dû demander aux femmes de ménage à chaque fois pour qu'elles appellent quelqu'un pendant qu'on poirote sous le soleil.
La chambre ne dispose pas de baignoire ni de vue sur mer comme indiqué sur le site. J'ai demandé à changer de chambre et la personne m'a répondu que tout est surbooké... Ok moi qui avais ramené mes produits pour le bain...
La literie est une vraie catastrophe on se réveille avec des courbatures... Même pas un frigo ou une bouilloire.. Tout est vieillot et y avait de la moisissure dans la douche qui ne disposait même pas de sèche-cheveux ni de produits d'hygiène (seul une vieille bouteille de palmolive remplie de je ne sais pas quoi était disposée) le ménage était fait un jour sur deux dans changer le linge de lit pourri...
Le bouquet final, le petit déjeuner dit \"continental et copieux\"! Un petit déjeuner LIDL ! Même pas de viennoiseries ni de VRAI jus d'orange ou des fruits.. C'était la même chose chaque matin :des tranches de pain, charcuterie, fromage, pastèque et œufs) même pas une machine à café c'est la première que je vois ceci..on a dû acheter nous même notre jus et nos viennoiseries... Et en plus, l'hôtel se permet de mettre 4 étoiles sur la pancarte (je me demande où ils sont allés les chercher ces étoiles) l'hôtel est très bruyant on entendait tout la nuit et le matin, il donne sur une autoroute très difficile à traverser et très dangereuse.bref,à fuire !

Nachsaison in Srebreno

5 Nächte Kurzurlaub im Avantgarde - nichts zu kritisieren, außer der Lage direkt oberhalb der Küstenstrasse. Es war auch nachts recht laut. Srebreno ist ansonsten ziemlich ruhig. Die kleinen Strände sind vom Hotel binnen 10 Minuten zu erreichen. Abends ist der Ort ziemlich ausgestorben. Nahversorgung dank Einkaufszentrum sehr gut, ebenso die öffentlichen Busverbindungen nach Dubrovnik und zum Flughafen.

Nous avons été très bien reçu,l'hôte nous a expliqué tout ce qu'il y a à faire dans les environs , l'hotel est bien situé proche de la plage mlini qu'on peut aller à pied par un petit chemin ombragé et agréable on peut prendre le bus pour aller à Dubrovnik et éviter de payer le parking à un prix exhorbitant (40kn/h).Buffet de petit dejeuner copieux.

De reden waarom dit hotel zo slecht scoort, is omdat het aangewezen kamertje totaal niet overeen te komen met wat we geboekt hebben. Er is ons niets verteld over ontbijttijden, waar het zwembad is o.i.d. Het hotel heeft ook geen roomservice.

Personne à la réception à l'arrivée à 10:30! Au bout d'1/4 d'h d'attente je pars à la recherche de qq'un. Une jeune fille me dit qu'elle va venir : de nouveau 1/4 d'h d'attente.Chambre pas prête : je laisse mes bagages retour 17 h chambre toujours pas prête. L'hôtel est loin de dubrovnik (1 seule ligne de bus à proximité et arrêt de bus retour difficile à trouver. Bien que près de la routePersonnel très serviable et désireux d'aider : impression de billets, petit déjeuner avant l'heure prévue . Bien que près de la route les chambres sont assez bien insonorisées...moins à l'intérieur

Ett bra hotell som kan bli bättre

Bra rum. Frukosten mycket ojämn. Gammalt bröd och dåligt kaffe samt att mycket tog slut för att komma tillbaka när man lämnat den trånga frukostmatsalen drar ner omdömet,
Bra omgivning i Srbreno med badstrand och hyfsade restauranger.

Great choice!!

The host is charming, very helpful and hospitable even leaving us a delicious homemade cake, amongst other things. Best part is the pool, good for sunbath, drinking and even BBQ! Wifi worked well. Able to do washing and meal preparation. There was no problem with arranging a baby cot for our daughter, we were also provided a high chair during our stay. The property was generally very good and in a great location close to the bottom end of the main high street and coast/harbour. Highly recommended!

Perfect location 10min away from Dubrovnik by bus and nearest beach is 500m down.
Great place with warm staff (we even had a welcome drink + concert on one night).

Rooms was full

ich hatte für die Übernachtung vom 09.08.17 auf den 10.08.17 gebucht. Kurzfristig musste ich die Übernachtung um einen Tag verschieben. Dies war lt. Inhaber kein Problem, so dass wir erst am 10.08 angekommen sind und beim einchecken wussten die Damen nichts von uns. Erst ein Anruf beim Chef wurde klar, dass wir in ein andere Unterkunft (nicht zu ihm gehörend) vertröstet wurden. Lt. dem Chef war dort noch was frei, dem war aber nicht so. Wir standen also auf der Straße und hatten kein Zimmer.
Die zweite Unterkunft die uns geannt wurde war belegt.
Dieses Verhalten war Besucherunfrendlich, unmöglich und.... Eigentlich kann ich meine Wut usw nicht in Worte fassen.
Glücklicherweise hatten wir durch Zufall noch eine andere Unterkunft gefunden. Diese war dann auch wesentlich günstiger.

Viehättävä motelli

Ystävällinen henkilökunta. Pieni miinus oli, että henkilökunta ei pääosin osannut englantia ollenkaan. Ystävällisyydellään paikkasivat tämän puutteen. Pihalla oli uima-allas, vaikkakin allas ja allasalue olivat aika pieniä. Aamupala oli hyvä, mutta aamupalan jälkeen ei ollut mahdollisuuksia ostaa edes juotavaa. Onneksi iso ostoskeskus sijaitsee välittömässä läheisyydessä.
