The hotel staff were very nice, friendly and warm. The hotel's gardens were also beautiful, but unfortunately, our villa was very old, dirty and untidy. The room was full of a mouldy smell, so bad that I couldn't breathe. So we informed the hotel, explained the situation, and requested a room change. They moved us to the next villa, 928 from 929, which was all the same. So, we didn't have any other option but to stay there for ten days. The furniture was very narrow and of very old quality. The kitchen sink was so dirty and old that even looking at it would make someone vomit, and dirty water was rising from the pipeline below on its own. And the two bathrooms were very dirty and of poor quality. Every tap and shower head was rusty, and every corner of the bathroom had years of garbage and dirt. I felt very uncomfortable taking a shower in this bathroom every day. We stayed in this villa for a total of ten days, but the hotel housekeeping did not change any bed sheets, clean towels or bathroom mats once during these ten days. The hotel authorities fail to provide any comfort or luxury here for such a high price. Such a waste of our money. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I have all the images available if you want to see them. You will feel very disgusted. The portal should include an image upload option to showcase and explain the experience.

Very nice stay although we never got the room we booked, they did give us a family room which was big bedroom upstairs, but no tv in lounge area downstairs,so it was a bit much up and down the stairs being pensioners. So they gave us a standard room a lot smaller than the one we booked,
However it was a nice stay good location and nice grounds bit dated but clean.

This is a great budget property in the heart of Seminyak Bali. Sure you could stay at the W for $600 but here a room is $30 and you will only use it to sleep. Great staff and lush grounds. So if your looking for a good value this is it.

Location was good, bit run down, shower was dreadful, would go hot and cold every 3 seconds which made it very hard to have a shower. Did not clean toilet for days.
Pool bar was not operational which was advertised. And one of reasons i stayed. Will not stay again..

Taman Ayu was very nice, we stayed in the Super Deluxe Room which was the newer part. We also stayed one night in the Garden Deluxe Room and liked that more than the Super Deluxe room. The pool area is nice but could do with large size pool towels instead of the old room towels. Around the hotel there are plenty of eating places and massage places which are good and cheap. It was a little far to walk to Seminyak Square so a Rp 100,000 taxi ride was needed. The staff were friendly and always obliging. All in all our stay was okay.

Great cheap stay, no expectations for the price!

Great cheap stay, quiet despite the location, but ask for a room at the back and take some earplugs anyway.
Very clean, but just dated. Pool was lovely salt water and nice and quiet.
Only complaint, mix up with pool bar bill. make sure you just sign the receipts and pay at the end. I paid cash for one round of drinks and the cash went missing and someone else's signature on the receipt. I left the hotel feeling a bit crap, as they chased down all the staff and the manager and still didn't believe me and tried to make me feel guilty by saying they will get to the bottom of it and sack the staff member.

It was nice, pool area was surprisingly nice. Place was a little old and there was still someone's underwear in the bathroom hanging up behind the door when I checked in which was a bit weird. Local area is fine, a lot if healthy food and near to the beach.

Great location and good pool. The room, especially the bathroom was really worn out. The toilet didn't flush properly, so waste sat there all day. the gym was so old, nothing like the pictures. No bike and the treadmill was broken down and if it did start it would breakdown. The air conditioner remote didn't work, so had to stand on the bed to turn it on or off. Curtains old and grey/dirty. I guess given the affordability of the hotel, it was OK. Just think the pictures were really misleading.

Love staying here. Got a great old Bali feel. Love the greenery and the spacious rooms. The location is just fantastic. I do the yoga nearby and the upmarket restaurants are all so close within walking distance.

Good location but a little dated

The hotel is located close to some nice shops,cafes and restaurant and for the price it is good. Our room was at the front of the hotel and there is a local bar that plays music really late so we were kept awake by that. The room itself was really dark and abit tired and dated but it’s what you expect for the price.

Terrific location at a great price.

I have stayed here every visit for the last five years. Great budget hotel with mature lush grounds. It's not an over priced, pretentious resort. Just a good clean place to lay your head.

Bali gardens, quiet, nice pool, clean rooms, lovely staff, would stay again. Is located down the street from potato head, ku de Ta, we stayed in deluxe room in deluxe wing (renovated wing). Huge comfortable bed. Best value for money. Quick taxi ride to Warung Nia - best Balinese food I have eaten including best pork ribs.

Amazing find in Seminyak!

There were some minor things like the bins not having been emptied before my arrival, an ineffective drain in the shower, and the sounds from outside the room coming through the thin door, but they did not take away from my experience overall, especially compared against their provision of a kettle since my room didn't come with one. The restaurant is well-priced and open at all hours. The pool looked enticing, but sadly I didn't have time to make use of it. I will definitely be back.

Nice hotel close to everything.

Nice hotel with a good feel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for staff and room was cleaned every day without request upon return which was a pleasant surprise. Was given an upgraded room for just a minimal cost extra as there was a small roof leak when it rained heavily. If anything the pool was a little deep but it still served its purpose. Would stay there again and was very affordable.

Amazing location and very nicely set out, with friendly and obliging staff who go out of their way to help. Laundry and room service were an added bonus, although wi-fi was slow at best and the free breakfast was very disappointing. There are so many great places to eat in the area, however, that this was not a huge problem for us. The fitness centre is open air making it both exposed and extremely hot so this was not a standout feature - but the hotel provides an in-room massage service that is absolutely wonderful.

Fabulous location at Seminyak you can sit in the restaurant and watch the world go by
The pool and swim up bar although small are just beautiful
The gardens are simply beautiful and so very well manicured
I would definitely recommend this establishment it's just value for money and as mentioned perfect location

Nice Balinese style hotel on a lush tropical garden. Offers different types of rooms and villas. Medium range hotel with everything you need. Except from the new wing and the villas, deluxe rooms are nice but would need some renovations (bathtub, shower) swimming was recently retiled but already full of limestone. Fabulous hotel in Bali

We stayed for two weeks at The Taman Ayu in Seminyak in Bali. The staff were awesome and the hotel and facilities excellent. Good choice of food and 24 hour bar/restaurant and room service available. In a great location with plenty of bars, spas, restaurants and shops nearby. A short walk from the beach. Would highly recommend this hotel probably more towards couples or adults only. Resorts such as Kuta and Legian seemed to cater more towards children for eg water parks etc with beaches nearer. As a couple we loved this hotel as it was very peaceful especially around the pool. Also a must is Biku restaurant 2 minutes walk, amazing and very reasonable restaurant with an extensive menu and always busy. 😄🍦☀️🍍🍸🍴

Friendly and very helpful staff made my stay very enjoyable. Most spoke English very well. Affordable to upgrade to a better room with more facilities as base grade room was a bit tired and lacked kettle and clothes hangers. Beautiful gardens to look out on from these rooms however. Bed was very comfortable. Close to restaurants and boutique shops. Upgraded room was very large with bath but the shower hose needed to be hand held if showering and water drainage was not good if it sprayed on the bath surrounds. Pool was nice. Room was serviced daily, always looked lovely to return to after a day out. Travelling alone I always felt safe. ATM across the road a little way up. Taxis readily available but easy to walk everywhere when you get used to the busy traffic. I would definitely stay here again for the position and for the price.

The staff at this hotel are so helpful and friendly. The room was good, the shower needs to be better as not much pressure and too high for short people. Tea and coffee facility would have been appreciated for early morning wake-up, other than that we will be back to stay here.

Don't accept room if it is dirty

First room was disgusting, mould, damp, and the sheets were threadbare. On saying we were not happy, taken immediately to a really nice room in another building. The terms de-luxe, and superior seem to mean nothing, I assume that if you accept the dirty room that's your choice. I was pre-warned by reading the other reviews, so hopefully this will help others.
Other than that, the hotel was reasonable, good location for the bars/clubs etc, and close to the beach.

Great Budget hotel

The Taman Ayu is a great budget hotel, stayed in the new Deluxe Wing rooms and they were modern and clean. The air con worked perfectly and the pool and grounds of the hotel were well kept. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you have the extra cash, definately go the new Deluxe Wing rooms, other rooms such as the Superior rooms are quite basic.

I wanted a quaint hotel with a pool for a quick stay over Nyepi and Taman Ayu did the job but my experience wasn't great and I was a bit surprised about the raving reviews.

The room was very basic and the bathroom could use a makeover but everything was clean and worked fine so no issues with that. I loved the large balcony and they have a really nice little garden. Pool was good size, has a little bar too. I was unlucky with the service, I don't know if it was because of the holiday but I had to ask for everything multiple times, get the menu and check myself because the server wouldn't pay attention, they forgot to bring my drinks with my meal for dinner and breakfast, little things like that. Not a huge deal, just a bit annoying and surprising in Bali where I've only had excellent service so far. The food I had at the restaurant was average and the Indonesian dishes I ordered didn't have much flavor. Again, it could be because of the holiday (perhaps some of the staff was off). Either way, there are a couple of good warungs in walking distance up the road and options for non-indo food down the road, at the beach and shopping areas.
The location is fine, it was further from the shopping areas than I thought but that makes it a bit more quiet and I found that very pleasant in crazy Seminyak. It's about a 10 minute walk from the beach.

When we first got to the hotel we were in a standard room which is in the old section. It was very old- wallpaper peeling, old dirty bathroom, no safe or tea and coffee. Would be suitable for backpackers, very budget. As we were away for our 10th anniversary we decided to ask to upgrade our room which the hotel was happy to do for a minimum cost. We upgraded to a superior delux room and it was beautiful! Definately worth the extra to upgrade! Our stay way wonderful. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the food was excellent and cheap, the hotel pool was beautiful. This hotel is in a great location, just a short walk from many top restaurants, including the W, potato head, Biku, Sarong and Bambu as well as a short walk to seminyak square. There's a circle K just over the road with a ATM. All in all, a wonderful stay!

The location suited us because it was close enough to the beach and the good parts of Seminyak, but was not in the thick of all the mayhem and noise.
The pool area is really nice. The staff were excellent and always very happy and naturally friendly. We were in one of the newer rooms, which was excellent.

I enjoyed my stay here, but would recommend up grading to a superior wing room. I initially book just a room, but this building was old and whilst the room was lovely, if a little dated, there was a string smell of damp, which I could not tolerate. I ask the staff for another room, which they more than willing to offer, but this room had the same problem. I had to upgrade my room, in order to stay in a newer building which did not have a damp smell.

Once I upgraded, the hotel was great, and I had no further complaints. Lovely pool. Well kept gardens. Helpful staff.

After booking a superior room and checking in, we were disappointed. The rooms are quite old, especially the bathrooms. We were going to live with it but then the bathrooms started to smell sewerage-y so we asked to move rooms and they very kindly upgraded us to a deluxe room which was worlds better! If you are planning to stay in this hotel, spend the extra money and get a deluxe room. The breakfast was delicious, pool was lovely and comfortable and staff very helpful.

if you book this hotel make sure you are in the new section.
the older section summed up in one word grotty,stains all over the walls, doors off hinges and smelly,which is in complete contrast to the new section.

We stayed 2 nights at The Taman Ayu, and thought it was fantastic value for money in a great location. We arrived before the check-in time, so we went off to get a massage. The reception staff were very nice to deal with and organised for our luggage to be delivered to our room while we were away. The beds were clean and very comfortable. We swam in the pool multiple times during our stay - a great place to relax, especially beside the pool bar. Breakfast came with the room, and the selection was good and the food was delicious.

Ive just got back from a 2 week stay here and I absolutely loved it. I traveled alone and after reading other reviews I decided to stay here and I was not disappointed.The location is brilliant, you can walk pretty much every where.
The staff were very friendly and the hotel surroundings were lovely. I had the deluxe wing bedroom which was very modern on the ground floor. It had a safe and kettle facility s. I felt very safe at the hotel and would recommend it to anyone.Value for money is brilliant. I have friends in Bali so I was taken out most nights which was handy. Places you must visit Merah Putih which is a restaurant next door to the hotel, its stunning and the food is amazing, its a little more expensive than other restaurants but worth it. La Luciola, is a restaurant on the beach just as you enter it (beach is 7 minute walk from hotel) again stunning food with views of the sea. Ku De Ta, great for days, beach beds and cocktails, music, really cool place. Potato Head, (again right by the hotel) its lively with music beach beds and infinity pool. Great for day time or evening. La Plancha, again on the beach with bean bags well priced tapas type food and really cool venue. Places Ive mentioned are suitable for any one, family's couples and singles,Get your self massages as many times as you can, there's a place opposite the hotel which is very cheap, the venue isn't much to talk about but the treatments are great.Bodyworks is even nicer.you must go to the Gillys MUST

Looking forward to our next stay at the Taman Ayu

The gorgeous garden,pool and great location are just the initial brilliant features of the Taman Ayu. The rooms (stayed in a Deluxe room-deluxe wing) are lovely, clean, tidy and private. The staff are very professional and friendly. I left my phone by the beautiful pool only to receive a phone call in my room from staff, who personally delivered it back to me. The food at the restaurant is nice and very well priced. The location is great, with a salon directly across the street, a convenience store and ATM. Potato Head and Saltys are just down the road, both definitely worth a look. Really enjoyed our stay, looking forward to returning next year for a longer visit.
