The pool area and restaurant are good but the hotel has not been maintained well. The rooms are old and falling apart with mould in the roof and big gaps in the windows. We had to upgrade our room as the standard room was pretty dismal. Other than that we enjoyed our stay there and the hotel is in a great location within walking distance to everything.

First of all i would like to say the staff and manager are extremely nice, friendly and understanding. I would give the staffing there 5 stars.
However the property is run down especially the rooms. Bathrooms were specially dilapidated and toilet bowl, sink and tub were in terrible condition. Wifi was non-existent. Pillows and towels have an odd smell. On day 2 water was even cut. It was an upsetting experience we went with another 2 families which decided to check out to another hotel despite already paying for a total of 3 nights. That shows a lot on how upset they were.
Lumbung is nestled in a very nice strategic location and has this very authentic Bali vibe, its a pity the owners did not spend and pay extra attention to the property.

The places is beautiful and the staff are so helpful. However the bedding & towels were not clean and always seemed to have some marks on them. We had an issue the first night however once we informed management, the staff and management really went out of their way to make sure everything was ok going forward. The pool area is beautiful.

By far the thing that made me happiest were the staff - helpful, friendly and kind. Happy to help with every single request, within minutes, and always with a smile. It felt nice coming home to see these friendly faces every day 😊 I’ve been coming to Seminyak for 15 years and will now be a repeat visitor to Lumbung. Cannot wait to go back!

The staff are absolutely excellent at this property. The pool area is spacious and tropical, a calm oasis from the madness outside. More sun-loungers are needed though. The rooms are very large but are in need of renovation. AC was a godsend and very effective. Bed was huge and comfy. Towels are grey and have marks on them but found this to be the case in other hotels in Bali, it’s quite off putting. Lots of Australians are returning visitors to this hotel as it’s friendly and in a central area. Beach is approximately 15 minute walk, restaurants and bars are on your doorstep but you can’t hear the noise from this hotel. We did enjoy our stay.

Place is very old and extremely dirty. Bed sheets had visible stains, room filled with dead worms and roaches, I also found a lizard under my pillow. When I spoke to the staff, they didn’t have any answers. I ended up leaving the hotel in the middle of the night and booking elsewhere.

This is absolutely one of the best hotels where I’ve ever stayed in my entire life. The staff is impeccable. It’s all family owned and even the kids work there. And they’re all unbelievably sweet. The room was just about the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. And it was so close to the beach, a three minute walk. And the pool is absolutely beautiful. The food is also very good. And the price was ridiculously low. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Very tired accommodation needs to be renovated.pool area needs to be revamped Brocken pavers need to be replace or fixed lots broken trip hazard.mybe new furniture around pool old and not enough.Our room was old and tired furniture needs to be replaced .taps in bathroom need to be replaced as very hard to turn on and off .we should have been in a ground floor garden view room and was put in upstairs one the door was broken we had to put our shoulder into the door to be able to get open.we left after three night should have stayed six.very disappointed 😢

My partner and I booked the hotel vila Lumbung through the wotif app as a deal. We were welcomed and treated like family the entire time we were there. The staff are beautiful warm and genuinely enjoy working there and nothing was ever to much trouble. The room was beautiful the ground were beautiful. Being in the center of busy Seminyak we were pleasantly surprised at how peaceful and quiet it was. It was like a little oasis. We are already looking forward to going back again.
If you’re after a lovely peaceful friendly place to stay then I recommend hotel Vila Lumbung 100%

This once loved and favorite hotel has aged ungracefully. In dire need of a huge makeover, or demolition. The bedding is rock hard, stained and threadbare. The pool is flatout dangerous with broken tiles everywhere, literally slicing toes left, right and centre. The water itself felt itchy and cloudy. The gardens are unkept ponds just manky with sad looking fish struggling to breathe. The staff look just as tired, and worn out as the hotel. We ledt after 1 night of a 5 nigjt stay and sought greener pastures.

The property is obviously aging, we had a aircon which was making a horrible noise and throwing ice, I took a video and showed reception but nothing happened, by the end it was leaking all over the floor. I felt this was poor form on the properties behelf.

The room was small compared to the pictures on wotif made it out to be, there was no veranda etc. our Villa shared the spa.

The internet isn’t very good, it worked but not fast and dropped out a bit.

The pool was large and We spent a day enjoying it and they had a pool bar which was good.

Breakfast is average, they cook eggs how you like etc.

Easy to get transport, was close to some of wrong places, laundry down the road, plenty of night clubs within short walk.

We really loved the resort, BEAUTIFUL rooms, air con and good pools, and great location. However what really let it down was the poor wifi, we couldn’t even receive messages to communicate to each other in the resort, had to turn on our international roaming as it got so bad, which I’ve never done before. It’s really a shame cos they have modems in the rooms, I just don’t understand why the wifi is so weak.

The staff were lovely, the gardens are pretty and well maintained, but were disappointed with our room. We booked a Deluxe Lumbung because we wanted a room with a bath (an outdoor shower would have been lovely too), unfortunately our Deluxe Lumbung didn't have either. The basin and shower didn't drain properly, and the shower smelled of urine. The room was dark and unlike the pictures. We spent our first day in the resort by the pool but then my partner became ill with Bali belly that evening. We still enjoyed our stay as much as we could but I would hesitate to book here again

Stayed for 8 nights with my Wife. Really loved it. Staff were amazing. Pool area was top notch for laying around sipping drinks around the pool bar. Plenty of places to eat and drink right outside. Wife really enjoyed the Spa treatments, massages and hair session.
Breakfast and dining options were good.
Cant say enough about the staff, i was constantly amazed by how friendly and engaged the staff were with the guests.
Was in deluxe room and was really nice. Will definitely stay there again.
Read a few reviews that mentioned the property was a bit tired.. While i agree abit of a paint touch up wouldnt hurt, the place is kept very clean and the grounds are beautiful and tropical feeling.
Also read some reviews mentioning noise. Wasnt a problem for us.. Sure there is the sounds of the tropics at night, but hey its Bali. We were up front so there was some accoustic serenading from the bar across the street at night, but we found it relaxing. If its a problem maybe ask for a room down the back of the resort?

The feel of the place was relaxing. It was the quiet season when we visited Bali so I appreciated the place not feeling too busy or over crowded.
We stayed in the superior villa and I appreciated it’s authentic old feel of Bali, am grateful I didn’t book just a standard room as it was nice to walk through the gardens to our own separate hut!. The room was a little run down but it was really comfortable and we still enjoyed our stay, you’ll need to consider the stairs up to the room should you book this type of room. Overall the amenities are simple, hairdryer was weak, housekeeping was good, the place generally felt safe, although hubby tried to close the light in the wardrobe and got an electric shock due to an unusual style of wiring, overall the place felt secure and pleasant. Fresh bottled water was replaced daily for the use of brushing your teeth. The water in the shower was pleasant and warm. The pool area and swim up bar was also a little run down and the cocktails certainly needed improving, you’ll need to stick to the bottle beers or mixes if you want value for money. The staff are friendly. The complimentary shuttle twice a day to Seminyak square is helpful. But the 25 minute walk to the main heart of Seminyak is do-able. The surrounding area is pretty good. Little Revs is a 1 minute walk for good coffee and easy walking to pretty amazing eating areas too. I would certainly recommend staying at Hotel Villa Lumbung.

The property has aged quite a bit. The photos aren’t reflective of the current state. The staff was extremely nice and receptive however, an are the shining light within this hotel. They were attentive, remembered who we were, and promptly helped to carry our bags during checkin and checkout.

The one concern I had was that the water bottles we were given weren’t “sealed” and had simple metal caps. It helps when the bottles have a seal you have to break to open, so that you have some validation that you were the only one to open it.

I would stay again

Hotel was built in 1996 so clearly showing signs of its age. Staff were lovely but with so many trainees (cheap labour) so much to learn but their enthusiasm and big smiles made it a very welcoming place. On a positive note, the grounds are really nice with mature trees and some wildlife living amongst the environment.

Big negative was having to save a lady from drowning because the so called swimming teacher only had eyes on a child she was teaching with no concern for the woman. Her excuse, “it wasn’t her turn and she had told her to stay in the shallow end” that she had obviously slipped off. I did teacher how stupid she was as she had 2 eyes and was only 3m away

Breakfast was good enough and location not too bad. Room price was fine too
