Just OK. Not a high end hotel but OK. They should tell you about parking - which is offsite. We had to guess where to park. Also, very hard to get a taxi at night. Room was small but OK. Very hard to deal with the A/C controls.

The staff here is just wonderful! The bath house is awesome, we used it almost every night. Convenient to lots of restaurants and some shopping and the train station which was awesome. I would definitely stay here again when we come to visit our son stationed here in Iwakuni.

Very nice place to stay close to the Iwakuni train station. The staff is super friendly and they have a wonderful bathhouse you can use. I would definitely stay here again.

Close to the Iwakuni train station and parking options are also close by. The front desk staff was either friendly or cold. Sometimes we’d have to tell them hello as they hide their faces behind the monitor. Weird! Do not get the room with the step up and bed mattress on the floor as it’s a hazard at night when you get up to use the restroom, you have to step down to the floor level then step into the restroom. Super dangerous in the dark. Other than that, amenities were basic but what do you expect for a room less than $60/night. Pretty decent as far as convenience.

This is probably the nicest property in this sleepy old town of Iwakuni. I gave it 5 stars because it was nicer than anything around. It was clean and more than sufficient AND the public bath was a HUGE plus. It was modest, but clean and comfortable.

Very convenient location - a $10 cab ride to Iwakuni MCAS and within walking distance to shopping and downtown restaurants. Very clean with a very friendly staff. By American standards, the room was small (no closet) with a tiny bathroom that looked like it came out of an RV. On the plus side, the toilet seat was heated! I would stay here again, but the room would be very cramped with two or more guests.

The room was cramped & not at all like the photos. The bed was pushed up against the wall & the desk chair blocked the bottom so you had to climb over the other person to get into bed.
The photo showed a massage chair in the premium room and when I called the front desk I was told I would be moved after my first night and was not.
Instead there was a mini loveseat which took up the space for a nightstand.
There is a giant picture window into the bathroom which is freaky and no safety bar into the very high but tiny bathtub making it super dangerous getting into the bathtub.
It also stated soundproof room but it was anything but.

The property was close to Iwakuni Station and also 10mins from where I was working for 3wks. I could walk the area and it provided lots of food options and anything else I needed. I was put on a smoking floor which I didn't like at all because I'm not a smoker and the smell was prevalent.

That is to say, no desk for laptops, few receptacles to charge devices, and no closets. But the staff is very friendly, and the room was fine. But not much to do in Iwakuni...

Convenient location and quick to get to from the station. Staff was friendly and check-in was a breeze. Their COVID measures include a bento style breakfast that you take to your room, so that’s nice.

Most importantly, the public bath doesn’t have any issues with tattoos.

This is a lovely hotel. My only issue was that checkout was at 11, but the cleaning ladies were banging on doors and making quite a lot of noise while cleaning as early as 8:30 AM. As I was about to leave around 10:45 AM the cleaning lady let herself into my room without knocking. I was annoyed by this.

Excellent Hotel for the first time traveler. Staff was amazing and the breakfast had a good variety of both western and traditional Japanese cuisine. Clean, compact room. Nice staff. Great location with two department stores and many restaurants close by. Taxi from hotel to MCAS MCX was 1400 yen. Just a few minutes walk from the Iwakuni train station. We caught local buses from the bus stop at the train station. Also, a bus travels between the Iwakuni train station, Kintai Bridge, and Shin-Iwakuni station (where we arrrived & departed (one-way cost to Shin is 540 yen Sep 2018).

Biggest disappointment was not being able to utilize the spa / bathhouse. Tattoos are not allowed. Japan custom, and i respect that, but still disappointing.

My only recommendation is that if two of you are to say in the room, don't bring too much luggage with you, the rooms are small, and if you have to many things you will trip over them. Other than that the stay was great.

Good Iwakuni hotel

Stayed here while working at MCAS. Convenient to base (but customer picked me up and dropped me off daily). Located 3 blocks from JR train station to Miyajima and Hiroshima. Staff very helpful: stored bags on early arrival. Staff's English was sufficient to give directions and direct to restaurants. Breakfast was good and perfect for work days. Self service laundry helps keep luggage small.

While staying the carpets are dirty, the rooms smell like an ashtray, Under the bed was a layer of dust and dirt over an inch thick. The area is not good for dining and any type of entertainment. The businesses in the area are anti-american, The only good thing was it was close to where I needed to work.
I have moved my hotel to Hiroshima as it is a nuch better area with all the amenities and also clean and much more desireable place to stay and everything is in walking distance and foreigners are greeted with friendliness and it is away from the US military that has created the animosity against americans in general. Iwakuni is a nasty place. Will never stay there again

Good stay. Great rooms and service. My only problem was that I got a smoking room bc it was only one available. The smell of smoke was so bad and strong it stung my eyes and made my clothes stink. The staff was very helpful in getting me to a nonsmoking room when one was available. They even moved my luggage into it while I was away.

Iwakuni is 50 mins from Hiroshima but half the hotel costs. Also close to Miyajima. Breakfast is not as good as most hotels - not many choices.

I had to book this location at the last minute, due to unexpected unavailability on-base, and did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at the convenient location, and very friendly and attentive staff. I booked what was billed as the biggest room available, however it was still a bit small - but this is Japan so that is to be expected. The hotel itself is in the middle of the downtown area and has no parking lot directly next to it, however there is a lot on the adjacent street, and several cheaply-priced pay lots close at-hand as well. All-in-all, a very good experience and I would recommend this location to anyone needing to be close to the train station and/or a very short drive or taxi ride to the nearby Marine Corps base. There are also a number of Japanese eateries and night-spots within walking distance, rounding-out this good choice for a place to stay in downtown Iwakuni.
