I only stayed for 14 hours, so I didn’t use the food credit. This was a booking I made after all my other bookings. I thought I would be able to do everything I wanted in the Hiroshima area, however; when I realized I would be pushing it; I booked this stay. It was a great choice. It’s right next to the ferry docks, so I woke up packed my bag and checked out and had the hotel hold my bag until the afternoon when I got back from Miyajima Island. The area and hotel are older, but I like the older feel. My view from my window was probably the worst in the hotel, but I’m guessing others had better views. I met a couple who stayed on Miyajima Island, I suppose that could be better, however; more expensive. I don’t regret stay at the Coral.

Overall a good hotel with a great location to visit Mikayla Island. It is literally next to the ferry terminal. The beds were a little bit on the hard side, for my taste. The decor looks outdated. They provide complimentary breakfast, which was not great, but it was good! Bottom line, if you are going to Miyajima Island and want to stay off the island, this is a great option.

Great one night stop on our tour of Japan.

The location near the ferry was perfect so we had somewhere to stay after an evening stop at Miyajima. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We also thought the breakfast in the morning was great with a variety of western and Japanese dishes to choose from.

Perfect for Visiting Miyajima Island

We had an ocean view room and it was so beautiful! The location is amazing, so close to the train station and also the ferries. One minute walk to the ferries! The breakfast was great, the room was so spacious and clean. I can’t recommend it enough. I wish we got to stay longer!

The location was perfect for us, it was right beside the JR ferry to Miyajima island and a 6-7 min walk from Miyajimaguchi station. It included breakfast which was really good. A mix of Japanese/Western food. The staff was really great and the room was really spacey compared to other hotels we stayed in. Overall we enjoyed staying here.

Good spot for the ferry to Miyajima and cheaper than staying on the island. However, the hotel is in dire need of refirbishment. Room wasn't nice and very small. Hard to access with the single elevator. Staff were nice but would only stay if you were desperate for accomodation around Miyajima.

the hotel is very outdated and the room is aweful small compare to other hotel rooms we booked in this Japan trip. the bed is small and lumpy. luckily they offer the VIP coupon and kind of made up the short coming. We did take the benefits of the coupon and have an encellent dinner there. their breakfast was the best so far including tradition local japanese favor.

Almost like home.

I’ve been staying at this property for several years now since my family lives nearby. It’s been 2.5 years since I’ve visited because of the travel restrictions. It was great to see the updates they’ve done to the rooms and restaurants. The breakfast is absolutely the best. I stay here for personal reasons but it’s a great location for tourists too. Im already looking forward to my next stay.

The property was nowhere near the pictures provided when booking. Our room was supposed to be a twin share and they gave us a double. Mother and son DO NOT share a bed. The moment they realised they had mucked up they suddenly had no English, told us they were full and were very unhelpful. We eventually got a room with a double bed and a single cot made up. The state of the room was very tired, not particularly clean, old, small and smelly - stale smell. The whole experience was dreadful and we were pleased that we only had to stay one night.

Nice but NOT on Miyajima itself

Despite it's name, the hotel is on the mainland in Miyajima-guchi, not on the destination island as I has erroneously thought when I booked the room. Although staying there thus limited our opportunity to explore lovely Miyajima at our own pace, particularly in the less crowded evening, the hotel was a good choice and very pleasant. A satisfying kaiseki dinner was included in our room rate, as was breakfast, which was more basic than we had expected. While conveniently located adjacent to the JR Ferry terminal, there is nothing to do in the hotel vicinity.

Great stay near Miyajima!

Overall, very good and I would stay again. Very convenient to the Miyajima ferries and JR and light rail lines. Good and simple breakfast. Free parking, WiFi, and bottled water with stay. Great staff. Excellent value for the price. My only real complaint if any is that the parking is somewhat limited.

Really great hotel in a great location to explore both Hiroshima city and Miyajima. The staff were friendly and the included breakfast was pretty good. The bathroom and the furniture felt slightly aged in comparison to other hotels I've visited in Japan, but it was still a good stay overall.

Large hotel - very convenient for Miyajima ferry terminal.

We staid here because hotels on the island were incredibly expensive (3x the price!) and were pleasantly surprised by the place.

Firstly, the location is great it is almost on-top of the ferry terminal so you can take early / late ferries to the island and go straight to the hotel. There is also a nice bakery just behind the hotel for breakfast.

Secondly, although the pictures looked like the rooms were very dated, actually our room was perfectly decent and modern enough.

A good value way of staying (almost) on Miyajima!

We booked a non smoking room however the room we were given still had a strong smoking smell and staff were happy to move us (we were travelling with kids) to another room. The breakfast was awesome! The location makes it great for the Deer Island (Miyajima). It's incredibly close. The hotel looks inside and out to be stuck in the 2000s in its decor but functionally the hotel was fine. My shower head pressure was quite low so don't expect a good 'shower'. The bed was also quite hard, but it didn't stop me from getting sleep.

We arrived before check-in but the staff kept our luggage so we could go sightseeing. They did the same after check-out too, it was very helpful. They had also put our luggage in the room when we came back.
We had booked a room with ocean view and we were not disappointed. I think with binoculars it’s possible to see the great torii from the room. It was also huge, with king size bed, desk and coffee table with seats. All amenities are provided and there are vending machines in the hotel to buy drinks (even alcoholic).
Dinner at the hotel was great, good quality local food (conger eel and oysters), fresh sashimi and a nice selection of drinks.
Only breakfast was a bit disappointing. It wasn’t bad by any mean but there isn’t much to choose from. We only stayed one night so i cannot say if they change the menu every day.

I would definitely come back to this hotel if i have the chance!

Great location if you're going to deer island, plenty of restaurants in the area, we were a family of five so the room was quite small, bed was a bit uncomfortable. They have free parking on the premises which was a huge selling point, breakfast was included, it was a simple continental breakfast. I would stay here again if in the area, but not longer than one night.

Great location for visiting Miyajima

This hotel is one block from the JR line from Hiroshima and a four minute walk to the entrance for the ferry to Miyajima. We could see the famous Torii Gate from our window and watch the busy harbor. The hotel was fully booked both nights we were there but it did not feel crowded nor did the breakfast room run out of space nor food. Awesome to have breakfast included. Room was well equipped but tall guests beware. The doors to the rooms are on the short side and one must remember to duck! Ice was available but in the second building. A 7-11 and a grocery store are close by. We would definitely recommend the Miyajima Coral.

The hotel room is quite spacious and we had a room overlooking the water and across to the island of Miyajima. The ferry to Miyajima was right beside the hotel so access is easy. Also the train to Hiroshima Peace Park is about 100 meters from the hotel and so that is easy to get to as well. Breakfast came with the room and was great, lots of variety and great coffee. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended if you wish to visit Hiroshima and Miyajima.

It is located about a 60 second stroll from the ferry terminal and only a few minutes walk from Miyajimaguchi station.

My room had a great view over the water to Miyajima.

It is located right next to the pier going to the island, so it is extremely convenient. There are also a well organized restaurant map provided by the hotel which helped us to find good options for dinner. The room is a bit bigger than the usual semi double room and was spacious enough for us. The bedding is nice and the hotel provided spa powder for a relaxing bathing. Coin laundry is available. Breakfast is included and is nice and with good variety.

Great location if you are going to Miyajima to sightsee. I stayed there becauae friends relatives in Benicia CA have relatives there. Drive to Iwakuni in AM and PM usually heavy traffic and 40-50 minjutes for 20 KM. But real early it is quicker. Toilet is much to small as my knees hit the opposite wall and have to watch porivate parts fron hanginbg into water or touching the bowl. Sink hangs over the tub. Could be double size to accomodate someone properly. Room had double bed which was OK. I had one soft and one rice pillow. Should have asked for two soft.

Very comfortable bed and clean room made an excellent stay. Very polite and helpful staff. We crossed the inland sea to Myakima island to visit the shrines and take the cable car. Hotel politely held our luggage until we returned. Train back to Hiroshima was cheap.
Breakfast included and this also was very nice good quality.

Hotel staff speaks English, extremely helpful. A 5 minute walk to the JR (Japan Rail) and a 3 minute walk to the train that takes you throughout Hiroshima. Transportation system is very easy to figure out and hotel is very helpful. Make sure to have Yen to purchase tickets.
