They call the hotel \"snug\" and they're not joking. The room is so small that you have to go outside to change your room. The bed was tugged in among three walls, with a shelf right next to it. The bed was kinda lumpy and very hard to get out, and you have to crawl on top of the person next to you to go to bathroom at night. There's no place to move around. However, the room was clean, the staff was nice, great location in the middle of the city center. But I think this is the room for one person. They do have bigger rooms and we probably do that if we ever go back.

The property was good as well as the staff. The mattress was horrible. Very thin and very uncomfortable. Invest in better mattresses!!! Also, if you don’t have a sound machine expect a lot of noice till 3 a.m. I would not stay here again because of poor quality mattress.

Excellent location for food, drink and shopping. We used the Expressway bus to travel to Sligo. The bus station was in a short walking distance. Very lovely area.
Of course, with live music abounding (a plus) it was a little loud at night when trying to get to sleep. If you're a night owl this won't be a problem.

The Snug Townhouse was the perfect spot to kick off my trip to Ireland. Being right in the heart of the Latin Corner was perfect for walking to food, whether a great brunch at Dela or to a local pub for a drink. Highly recommend for solo travellers.

The staff was helpful when asked. This is a very basic hotel with very small rooms. There is no lift and you may have to walk up 2-3 flights of stairs. The hotel is right in the middle of the old town--very excellent location.

This hotel is located right I. The middle of Quay street close to all the activities. In fact it’s directly across from the Quays Bar which is convenient but also noisy. The bar opens late so the noise doesn’t come down until after 2 AM. Our room faces the street and we had to use the provided ear plugs. Other rooms not on the Quay street may be quieter. Our room was simple but was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly too. Would stay again and ask for a quieter room.

Right in the Latin Quarter. Very noisy at night and in the morning we listened to the conversation of the couple right next to our room. Note there is no elevator and we were up 3 staircases. Reception did offer to help us with our suitcases. No parking on site but was close by. Parking lot was super tight to get in and park but you get a discount so only 12 euros for 24 hours. Hard to pull suitcases across cobblestone. Tiny room but clean and well organized.

The room itself was very small. However that said, my bed was nice and big and comfy and there was a nice skylight right above which nicely induced smooth and natural sleep rhythms. Bathroom was neat and clean and had enough space to maneuver. The location literally could not be any better! Right across the street from Galway’s most famous pub! Moreover Quay St. is packed full of awesome pubs and restaurants.

We spent 4 days here, yes it’s tiny, but the location and staff make it worth it. When you step out of the hotel you are in the heart of Galway. This was amazing for my friend and I. Everything was super clean and the staff was so kind. They gave us dinner recommendations and ways to spend our days. There aren’t any elevators as a fair warning, and if you plan on having more than 1 or 2 suitcases get a bigger room. We had the smallest one.

Our room at the Snug House was incredibly snug. More like being in a trailer. The only sitting options were the bed or the toilet. That said, we were aware of the room size, just not prepared for actually existing in it. Also, late night/early morning party sounds emanated up to us until about 2am. They did supply ear plugs. Location was ideal for partying at the many, many pubs on the street. Most of the sound came from the pub below. If you’re aged 18-40 it might be ideal

Perfect location, very walkable. The hotel is older and there is no elevator and no one to help carry your luggage up. We were on the 3rd floor and it was a challenge. Also, the rooms in the photos must be their very limited more spacious room because our room had no floor space- which is fine, but unexpected. The rooms definitely live into the name, it was perfect for the pricepoint.

The duplex was absolutely perfect for my son and I! We enjoyed our own space in the convenience of one booking. Each floor was more spacious than previous reviews indicated…but then again we don’t bring huge suitcases when we travel. There are cubbies under the beds to tuck away baggage, and the top floor was fairly spacious, as you can see in the picture. My son took the middle floor, and it was a bit smaller, but still sufficient. They do street sweeping or keg wrangling very early, so take advantage of the provided earplugs if you’re easily roused. The location is right in the heart of town, and was an easy (maybe 10 minute?) walk from the coach station if you’re coming from another west coast town (we traveled from Donegal town). Highly recommend, and I would gladly book this location for a future visit!

The location is EXCELLENT, right in Quay center where all the pubs and shops are. Everything in is walking distance. About a 5 min walk to the Spanish Arc. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful with questions. The room was very clean. The only downside was that the bed was quite uncomfortable… but honestly, we only stayed a night and otherwise this spot was perfect.

Found this place on Instagram and it turned out to be the best hotel I could’ve picked. It was in the perfect location, so many things all around it, so close to the Christmas festival in the train station. Really enjoyed staying the night here. 10/10 recommend for solo travelers.

No lift so if handicapped be sure to request something on 1st floor.
There are oodles of pubs, fish & chip joints, and boutiques right out the front door.
Nice showers with plenty of warm water and pressure.

I would definitely stay at The Snug again! The location is really convenient, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are adorable. Yes, they are truly snug, but they have perfect storage and space for two travelers. Being on Quay street means lots of loud noise outside m, but if you know that going in, it’s really not much of a bother.

Location couldn’t be better the only drawback is the noise since it is next to pubs and restaurants. We stayed a Thursday and Friday, Thursday was ok even tho it was noisy, there were people downstairs eating and drinking but Friday night was unbearable. The music and the boom was so loud I had to take a sleeping pill to be able to fall asleep. It was past midnight. Other than that I loved the location.

The Snug was small but comfortable and ideally located. The only issue was that we had rooms facing the street, making it impossible to sleep at night. The noise from the pub and street revellers went on past 2:30 am, only to be followed by kegs being dragged onto the street for morning pickup and early morning (before 7:00 am) deliveries and street cleaning. I am sure it is excellent if you do not get one of the rooms directly over the street. We are hardy travellers and don't get fussed over much, but I am telling you it was impossible to sleep.

This place is in a renovated 12th century (?) inn, so go in expecting smaller rooms, but they do it with such style and class it’s hard to not be absolutely impressed with this place! The staff is beyond helpful, super sweet, and you really can’t beat the location - within walking distance of everything. There is no parking on site bc it’s in the pedestrian area, but the Spanish arch parking garage is literally around the corner and the day rates are great. The bed is also massive, so plenty of room to relax when you get back from your days of exploration. Recommend static noise when you sleep if you are a light sleeper - they also provide ear plugs if that is more your thing. They also sell Irish plug converters that will fit all plugs except USB/Type C for €6 in the vending machines.

It truly is a small space, but is very cute and efficient in the way it is designed. The staff were extremely friendly and flexible. Since it is located in a busy area, there is some measure of noise that transferred through the walls. Ear plugs were provided, but it is good to be aware of the noise should you be a light sleeper.
