We were there from Dec 4th to Dec 10th for our anniversary along with kids (6 and 13). All the staff and the manager at the resort were amazing and took excellent care of us! Took the upgrade to the bungalow with the pool which was well worth it.

We lucked out on some great weather almost 6 of the 7 days we were there (had thunderstorms before we visited and it started to rain as we left).

Best parts:
- Resort was not crowded as this was an off-season. Keep in mind that they sometimes book the hotel for corporate events on occasion but these didn’t bother us.
- Kids had a blast with the in-hotel lagoon snorkeling tour (WiseOceans crew) and Marc (the marine biologist) did an amazing job showing them around.
- Plenty of things to do: Tennis courts were great, Paddle board and Kayaks were great. We paid and booked the ski-tour through the concierge and ended up booking a shark/stingray full-day boat tour as the weather turned out great.
- Asian restaurant was good although portions were small especially for the kids. The pizzas at the beach-side grill were great. So we ended up having dinner at the Vaimiti restaurant and ordered pizzas for the kids as they preferred that.
- Every staff member greeted us and kept eye contact as we walked by which was very much appreciated.
- We were really grateful to see that they had self-serve laundry and all machines were in working order.
- We got the bungalow with the pool and that was really amazing. Highly recommend if you have kids.

When you realize at check-in that your passport is still on another island… 😱 total panic moment. But then comes the hero of the day — Daniel Gillard at the Four Seasons 🙌. He told me, “Don’t worry, enjoy your day, I’ll get it back to you.” And he DID! He coordinated with colleagues, my Airbnb host, and even the last ferry crew to hand-deliver my passport.
I was beyond grateful (literally ready to cry 🥹). Lucas looked at me and said, “Mom… are you in love with him? 😂” Honestly, I might be in love with the Four Seasons after this. We’re officially lifelong customers ❤️.

The resort is beautiful, with great amenities and friendly staff. We stayed for two nights and had some memorable experiences. We especially enjoyed the shell necklace-making session—it was fun, well-guided, and made for a great souvenir. The canoe breakfast was another highlight. The staff were lovely and took me out for a peaceful kayak ride before serving a delicious meal.

That said, a few issues affected our overall stay:
1. Wristband Access Issue: Since we booked two nights separately, we refreshed our wristbands the next morning. They worked at first but stopped functioning after lunch, just before my 4 p.m. photo shoot. We called the front desk but waited about 10 minutes. Thankfully, a passing security guard helped us get in. Housekeeping brought new bands later, but the delay was stressful.
2. Leftover Wine in the Room: I saw a Four Seasons bottle, assumed it was water, and drank it with my medication—only to realize it was leftover wine from a previous guest. Housekeeping apologized, but it was unsettling and should have been caught during cleaning.
3. Food Safety Concern: After the Thursday Polynesian Night, my husband developed severe diarrhea that lasted nearly a week and required a doctor visit. We suspect the food was the cause.

The money was not worth the services provided. The villas are outdated, bathrooms and rooms are not well kept. Showers and bathrooms are too dark/black and not well cleaned. Buggy service was limited, the food was not good and limited restaurants. Same breakfast daily without any changes, dinner and lunch was not tasty and mostly salty. Place looks nicer in pictures than reality. Villas need remodeling. It was a waste of money and my family’s 7 days at the resort. Sinks were not well cleaned, towels were cream instead of white, sometimes the phones did not work.

Pros: beautiful grounds, attentive and kind staff, engaging Polynesian dance show, good breakfast buffet, impeccable Arii Moana restaurant experience, quality of over-water bungalows and beds, quick room service, and the tour operators who come for excursions are amazing.

Cons: we experienced oversights during our stay that are unacceptable at the prices being charged, including a botched double booking for sailing before arrival, waiting 27 minutes to get even water to drink at our first night's dinner reservation at Vaimiti, a spa day that was not as we ordered it (we ordered pareo massage that was clearly advertised as part of the ritual, and were told it was not possible, and instead of received very abbreviated swedish massage that was meh), and a mistake in allowing reservations for the Polynesian dance show to be made too late in the evening that resulted in having to run the mile from my bungalow with wet hair and no makeup in order to make the show. I also was not hungry yet because I was expecting to have dinner much later, and was charged $150 for the buffet regardless. My husband is not a picky eater and said the buffet was terrible, with 2 of the savory options being so salty as to be inedible. The buffet offerings looked limited and sad, very inferior to their breakfast buffet.

Overall, we would have been equally happy elsewhere for half the price and did not find the execution to meet a high enough standard to justify the cost.

In true Four Seasons fashion, the property and grounds at the resort are gorgeous! Great location too with the beach and bungalows situated by Bora Bora’s breathtaking blue lagoons. Four Seasons offers lots of water activities like snorkeling, kayaking, jet skiing, paddle boarding etc. The resort also hosts different activities throughout the week such as crown making class and traditional Polynesian themed nights (with fire and dance shows). You’re able to get a true immersive experience here!

The only area for improvement I can think of is that the overwater bungalows felt dated. You could argue they’re designed to represent the Polynesia charm, but they felt less luxurious to me.

ROACHES GALORE! DO NOT STAY!! BEWARE!!!

Been to maaany Four Seasons around the globe and this location was unlike any other (and this is an understatement):

• 10+ alive cockroaches every day/night

• Lazy housekeeping with highly questionable cleaning practices/protocol

• Rooms severely worn, basics such as blinds/appliances are either broken or non-functioning & when kindly asking to have remedied, staff downright makes you feel that they are the ones being inconvenienced

• Food is incredibly mid, small portions.. breakfast is sad & low-quality at best with uninspiring variety, unripened fruit, stale bread(s), etc

• Front-facing staff (specifically reception) constantly gaslights, parrots the same apologies over-and-over – completely unserious management that self-admits to massive communication issues throughout all tiers of their org

• Inconsistent information among low to high level staff leading to false expectations and/or outcomes

List goes on and on.. if you align with any of these values or find any of this acceptable this is the resort for you!

Came in with little to no expectation but this is a direct callout to the owners/upper management & they need to be held accountable & take ownership!!

They didn’t acknowledge. The food and drinks were horrible. The restaurant was filthy. They dropped a steak, and we had to watch them step in it all night without cleaning it up. Super gross. A beautiful resort through and through, with some caveats that impacted my enjoyment. That said, I'll start with the Pros:
1. Location. Obviously this is a beautiful country and the views from the resort are unmatched.
2. Staff are incredibly polite and helpful.
3. Service is impeccable, with the caveat that everything here operates on "island time" and expectations should be managed accordingly.
4. Resort offers a ton of activities, places to swim, and things to do from ATV adventures, to Jet Skiing, to hikes.
5. The food is expertly prepared and incredibly delicious.
6. The swimming areas are exquisite.
7. Room service is positivity exceptional.

Now, the cons.
1. There are a total of 4 places to eat on the resort, including the pool bar. Vaimiti is an excellent Asian fusion restaurant. I can't remember the other sit-down restaurant name but it's a French/Polynesian fusion. Both restaurants have rather small menus with relatively small portions (for an American) considering it can easily be $150/pp before drinks, one would expect a larger menu and portion size.
2. There is no basic bar or lounge besides the beach bar, which closes pretty early. Finding someplace to have a quiet drink is largely impossible. In speaking with the staff, supposedly Vaimiti used to be a bar and lounge, but that idea was scrapped for whatever reason.
3. Sunscreen at the on-resort boutique is no joke $50. Ladies sanitary products are similarly priced.

Perfect for a 7 day stay.

This is a very unique property blessed with picture perfect scenery all over the property.
We stayed in overwater bunglows which was a very unique experience , bungalows are very spacious and very comfortable , they provide all the amenities available in the room and you really don’t have to leave the room if you want to just enjoy the views from your room and deck .
Dining options are limited on the property , quality of food is amazing and restaurant staff is very friendly and makes you feel very comfortable so you can enjoy the ambience and indulge .

The property is georgious. The landscape is unbelievable. The staff is extremely friendly. The only biggest inconvenient is probably the impossibility to travel to Bora Bora town without a private water taxi. The hotel doesn't allow you to go in town freely. This is very sad because you feel prisoner and forced to spend your money on location unless the hotel control you with their unfree excursions.

Overall it is a very nice resort but nothing stands out about this hotel. We have stayed at other resorts in Bora Bora that each had something unique to offer but that unfortunately wasn’t the case here.

I hear a lot about the bad service at this hotel but I’m glad to say for the most part the service was great. There were a couple of faux pas that I thought were odd for a hotel of this caliber.
The restaurants are nice but nothing spectacular. I would have hoped for a signature restaurant. I believe Arii Moana is supposed to be that for them, but it fell short of expectations and was our least favorite of the three restaurants.
We were lucky enough to experience the motu dinner when we were there and that was a highlight for us. Alphonse from the catering team took really good care of us.
We also enjoyed the night snorkel and this was a unique experience for us. Ambre was a great host.

The hotel’s chat feature was very helpful and they were very responsive, usually within a couple of minutes. I also appreciated the really strong complimentary WiFi.

One of the main reasons for staying in an overwater bungalow is being able to swim right outside your room. Most of the time we couldn’t do that because the current was too strong but even if it wasn’t, it was deeper than we expected.

Overall we enjoyed our time there but nothing really stood out about this hotel compared to the others that we stayed in at Bora Bora

Beware of weather and cancellation policy!

Beware of the weather! We tried canceling because a horrible storm was over Bora Bora. We were told that because we paid in full, our money would not be returned. The only option was to reschedule within 6 months. That was not an option for us. Every day we spend at the Four Seasons it rained and we were NOT allowed to get in the water because the government issued a red alert. All land and water excursions including snorkeling, diving, ATV’s, any dinner reservations at neighboring hotels were ALL cancelled. We were locked in this resort with nothing to do but stay in the room or get a massage. The hotel is beautiful but when you pay high dollars for your bucket list beach vacation this is not what you expect.

The biggest issue that needs to be fixed here as soon as possible is the WiFi speed. It is atrocious. Very very slow. We called the reception and they said they get the internet from a 3rd party and there was nothing they could do. I mean the speed for a 5 star resort is embarrassingly slow. At the resort Le Pearl the speed is very fast and no problem browsing the internet or watching videos. I think for everyone who resides at your resort this is one of the top priorities and I think I wouldn’t return here because of it. You need to fix this asap and have at least similar speeds as the other resorts who are rated lower than you. Thank you for reading this and if you ever fix this issue please let me know.

This was a trip of a lifetime and it did not disappoint. The staff was so friendly and accommodating every step of the way.
The rooms were huge, and we had an amazing view of Mt. O and even a few sunsets. Though we were there during the rainy season, we only had 1 full day of rain, but it was still warm and didn’t keep us indoors. We took advantage of the tennis courts and paddle boarding.
My only complaints were, our room was a little musty and had the drinks were pretty pretty pricy, but overall our time at the four seasons was outstanding.

The staff was amazing! So kind, genuinely friendly wanting to help. It could not have been more beautiful and our room was outstanding. The food choices and quality was not so good and the menu items were inconsistent. Grilled cheese without melted cheese, Indian Food that will burn your insides out, Cesar salad with egg and bacon, gamey meat, the only soup is miso soup or gazpacho, green salad that is all tomato and very different each day, pizzas were not so good either. The menu could use some development. The resort is somewhat isolated from the rest of the island so without great hassle, you’re a bit of a captive audience. In fairness, the food on the island was worse when we tried to leave so it is probably a Bora Bora issue and not the hotels fault. I assume fresh food is hard to come by in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The breakfast buffet was pretty good and the Mahi Mahi sandwich by the pool was also good. Other than that, the resort was fantastic! Bora Bora is what dreams are made of! The colors are out of this world. And never have I met such kind and gentle people. I highly recommend and pack some snacks to carry you through.

I cannot say enough good things about the Four Seasons Bora Bora. My husband and I stayed there for 12 nights with our 10 month old son for my 40th birthday. The surroundings, hotel grounds and rooms are like nothing I’ve seen before, truly breathtaking, and the service was second to none! The food is delicious (especially the Asian restaurants). We had a couple of minor inconveniences when we arrived but the resort manager Alfredo and bungalow/villa hosts made up for it, big time. They did everything in their power to make sure we were happy and comfortable. The rooms are simply gorgeous; we stayed in an over the water bungalow with plunge pool and lagoon/Mountain views, which was beyond gorgeous and the second week in a beachfront villa with massive garden, pool and private beach. I have no words to explain how gorgeous and massive the villa was. The service is nothing less than spectacular - the managers, hosts and the entire staff are the nicest, warmest people you’ll meet and they go above and beyond to make your stay not only super comfortable but truly magical. Oh my birthday I received so many thoughtful gifts and messages from the staff, making it incredibly special. Our baby was treated like a king and couldn’t get enough of the warm attention from all of the staff. I have stayed in many many gorgeous hotels around the world, but Four Seasons Bora Bora is without a doubt at the top of my list - no competition! I would recommend everyone to stay here.

My My My... I tend to be hard to impress, but the 4 Seasons Bora Bora, is the STANDARD.

The staff is SUPER nice.
The resort, is lush and clean.
The room is top tier.
The food is good.
and the view... the FKN view!

Is it expensive? OF COURSE IT IS! ITS THE 4 SEASONS in BORA BORA!

We frequent Four Season properties. This one is a bit different as it is a resort as well. To that end there were “groups” there (corporate, private) that you wouldn’t normally find at a Four Seasons property. We weren’t really comfortable with this type of vacation environment and when we informed then management they not only upgraded our room to a more private spot but they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable the entire time and booked us around the movements of the “group”. My wife and I are so grateful and our vacation was the escape we hoped it would be. Bravo Bora Bora Four Seasons!

Overall great resort and good staff. Only reason to rate 4 star on staff and service is because it was hard to get activities booked on short notice. They seem to have few vendors they book with, but almost always when they said nothing is available, I was able to find something on Viator, and quality of experience was similar to activities booked with the resort. Wish they had broader vendor support onsite.

Grounds: The property is beautiful in every corner. We stayed at the Conrad Bora Bora Nui but the grounds aren’t anywhere as nice as the Four Seasons. The water in four seasons is shallow so you can do all sorts of activities without worrying about safety. They have a private lagoon area and multiple different beach areas. The water is incredibly clear going from shades of blue to green.
Spa: Spa setting is breathtaking. Lots of treatments to choose from. we did 80min pareo massage 15min foot massage which costed around $1100. Massage was okay it didn’t really feel like we got a massage and didn’t feel like like it was a 95min long treatment. There are other treatments to choose from though. There’s also a jacuzzi everyone can use without having to book a spa treatment. There’s a gym across from the spa and it’s equipped with everything you’d need.
Food: This was amazing as well. We are vegetarians and every restaurant handed us a separate Vegetarian menu. That was a first for us and we loved the food! We also did a private dinner on a Motu. The ride to the Motu and the set up was breathtaking. Our server was incredible however the weather got very windy when he went to get the food from the kitchen. Wind knocked over a glass of champagne and water on my dress on two different occasions so we asked to move the dinner indoors. It also took a while to get a ride back to the resort so we could continue our dinner indoors. So overall if weather is good this is a must try!

I stayed at both four season and intercontinental for this trip. I have to say four season’s services are by far better and more professional. The property is huge and the water and sands are well maintained. You can reach customer service via mobile app, very responsive. I will come back again.

Positives: Beautiful bungalows over the water. Service staff. Ability to arrange excursions.

Negatives: Very expensive and very average food at the breakfast buffet and restaurants. Unfortunately, need to go to other hotels or the mainland for better dining choices. Swarms of termite-like insects in our bungalow every sundown. They were attracted to bright light. Maid service often appeared in the afternoon (hours after we had left and called for them to clean our rooms) at the same time were returned to our room.

It was one of the best experiences at a Resort. Every single person (staff) acknowledged us and went over and above. On our final night we took a room “shuttle” back to our bungalow and we were serenaded by one of the staff singing and playing his ukelele - it was the best. We will be back. Maururu

My rating is based on a 5 star accommodation. I did not like the quality of service during the breakfast. Very poor. Why not to have a person who oversees the breakfast serving crew to ensure that coffee is warm, table set
is properly set up, dirty plates removed (attract flies), supplies replenished, invoice handed in the middle of a meal. All staff however, has been very friendly and they want to do well. Dinner service was on very high level, but a few meals poor, such as overcooked fresh fish.
Dinning in service was flawless on all counts including the food.
This is a very beautiful resort with pleasant and helpful staff, but in my view run by an incompetent management. The resort maintanance is being neglected and this is a shameful finding because it would not require exorbitant amount of funds to keep the walkways safe and outside furniture from falling appart. I wonder if the resort manager ever goes outside. I am sure he knows all about the cash flow, but is that enough to run a sustainable customer dependent business?
The room/hut service was far from satisfactory. The bar was not replenished once, tea, coffees supplies were replaced on intermittent basis…not a 5 star service again.

Hotel is very good, the rooms are breathtaking and the staff was very nice, the only thing I might change is the quality of thei dining options, not the best food in the world, restaurants are very expensive but the food is just ok… staff at the restaurants was very nice but it looked like they were short on staff
