The room was not overly clean. There was nail clippings on the floor and stains on one of the pillows. When we came in that night we were stopped at the door by a bouncer which is completely reasonable however he made us stand for 10 minutes in the freezing cold and rain because he was unable to spell my name. After I spelt it for him multiple times and gave the room number, and showed my booking he still proceeded to question me!! I was freezing cold and tired and he thought this was very funny!!! On a nicer note the front desk staff were absolutely amazing! We ate in the restaurant and it was lovely, so we’re all the staff!

I managed to book last minute at this centrally located hotel. I was so thrilled. The room was a triple and appeared to be on the top floor as it had gabled windows. There was a table with comfy chairs and the room looked bright and roomy. Upon arrival we checked in to a completely different triple room. It was tiny and dated. Usually when you book a room you choose room type and see various photos. There was only one photo and I presumed this was the style of room I would be getting. Is this the fault of the hotel for not supplying photos of all of the different triple rooms they have or is it the fault of Expedia? I’m not sure. We were super disappointed.

Hotel staff did their best and were able to put us in a more updated room that was a bit larger. But still not the room I expected when I booked. Included breakfast was excellent!

Excellent location, we took the train from Dublin. The train station is less than 100 yards from the hotel.

Very walkable location, we walked the sea wall/promenade to Salt Hill, Latin Quarter, Shop Street and Eyre Square.

Staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Room was clean, bid. Two fans were in the room upon our arrival.

Very convenient to both train and bus service as well as being in the heart of the downtown area near to Eyre Square Park and the main shopping pedways. The rooms are quite small but are manageable for very short stays. Having a large fan provided helped compensate somewhat for the absence of A/C.

comfortable, clean and great location

you cannot beat the location - next to the train station and within walking distance of the key tourist areas. the cafe in the hotel is also very good.

the room is comfortable but a bit small. only issues are thin walls so you hear your neighbors (muffled but still hear them) at times and the showers designed so poorly your whole bathroom gets wet so we had to put a lot of towels down.

Unbearably warm room. Staff provided fan, but still a very uncomfortable sleep. The city Pods are also basement rooms with windows at ground level into the parking lot. Either have to shut with window and have no light or have window open and have zero privacy. Great location, friendly staff, awesome hotel bar… just avoid the City Pods

This hotel has a lot of character. Room was nice, breakfast was excellent and location grand. It would be nice if there was a place to be able to drop off luggage but parking illegally across the street for 5 minutes worked out fine.

Lovely Central Galway Hotel

Eyre Square Hotel was a great little hotel in a perfect location in Galway! The room was compact but very comfortable. Bathroom door wasn't the most private and the mirror had a large crack in it (unclear if purposeful or not). Very walkable location to everywhere we went and the staff was helpful about the parking, which was down the block for a discounted rate. The Hotel had security at night. Good value, would recommend!

The hotel was beautiful and very convenient to restaurants, pubs and shopping. Unfortunately, we were awakened constantly by an alarm on a gate behind the hotel. The hotel is located right next to a bus station, and every time a bus leaves the station, the gate would open and close. Other people in our family in other rooms experienced the same. Also on 2 of our nights, there were construction crews jackhammering near the gate starting at 9pm and continuing for hours. This is no fault of the hotel, but it was too much noise to sleep well.

The hotel is convenient to the tourist draws in the Latin Quarter but isn’t right in the noisy bustling area. There’s even a bar with trad music just across the street as well as the fun to be had with a short walk down to Shops street and the lively nightlife. I had a few problems with the room but staff were quick to fix them. Very responsive and also courteous and warm. Tiny room of course but great shower and bath. Ideal location and very nice feel.

The most expensive rip off we have ever had

I have done everything possible to complain to HOTELS.COM about this holiday but no response has been received . This hotel was advertised as refurbished. It was the worst value we have received anywhere in the world. I am planning to take further action as non of my complaints have been acknowledged . Some nights I paid £240.00 for this. I was expecting a delux room. The cheapest night was £186.00 . I just still cant believe it . It should have been advertised as in dire need of refurbishment.

The hotel and staff were great. The beds and air conditioning made our stay comdfortable. Unfortunately some of the guests didn’t respect the quiet times and quiet signs posted outside the doors.
The breakfast and service were good. Some added food variety would be great. Overall we had an enjoyable time. You must check out the wonderfully designed bar.

Location was pretty walkable to almost everything! Loved that. We arrived really late and had a warm welcome by the front desk. I didn't realize until later that they had called me to check in about our arrival. I didn't have my cell service on. I was a little worried about our late check-in but they didn't seem to mind. Rooms were clean, loved the addition of the in room AC. If you can't do city noises, I'd suggest finding something a little off the main area as this was right in the middle of all the fun.

the room smelled like grease, and the AC was low, so when it was hot you had no choice but to open the window, which led to a higher smell of food and grease from the next door restaurant. It was impossible to sleep and our clothes had that smell of food and grease for days.
