Terrible, no one cleaned the room. I returned late from work. No toilet paper, no coffee. When I approached the desk they said “you needed to ask.” I replied “how would I know that.. I have stayed here before and my room was cleaned.”
Could not use the gym without an appointment.
Ridiculous, terrible lighting in the room and very old, dirty mattress. Extremely disappointing.

Worst hotel experience ever. No communication that hotel was actually going to be CLOSED. YES, A hotel closed over the holidays.

Do not waste your time here. Had gnats (small flies) flying all around our food and beverages the entire time we were at hotel and a number of the restaurants were not even open for service.

Do not waste your money at the Dean. I wish I could give 0 stars.

I can't say enough amazing things about The Dean Galway! This was my second stay and it was just as seamless as my first. Early check in, and being able to store luggage to enjoy the last few hours in Galway was the best! The employees from front desk to the coffee bar to Sophie's were all just divine! Visited The Dean for two nights with my partner and will definitely be returning. We were kindly upgraded and the room was fabulous! Location super central and got a really good value deal. The staff were super lovely! The facilities were fabulous - really good gym & nice outdoor heated pool with sauna & ice baths. Two restaurant options onsite but limited menus and quite pricey for options on offer; however, loads of good cafe and restaurant options within walking distance. Only additions to really add to the experience would be shelves/cupboard to store clothes in the room & mugs/spoons rather than paper cups for coffee & tea in the room.

This was located in the heart of downtown with limited eateries. The girl at the front desk did not mention that we would get 50% of parking at a car park .25 miles away down a hill. We only found this out at check out when the reception mentioned the discount. She gave us credit for 2 nights parking. Car park cost was 24 euros. Would not consider this location a good tourist location.

The staff on duty for our first two nights were absolutely amazing and so accommodating. We stayed 10/23 & 10/24. We enjoyed it so much that we cut our stay in Dublin short to come back for another night. When we returned on 10/27 the front staff wasn’t as friendly or accommodating. The first two nights the staff told us about robs and slippers for the pool. They showed up to our room within minutes of requesting. When we requested on the 27th they never showed up. The pool staff were amazing all 3 nights. The only other thing I’d have to say is the parking…. It’s an uphill walk and absolutely sucks with 3 suitcases. Definitely see about dropping your luggage off prior to parking!! The outdoor pool was definitely the highlight! The convenience of being able to walk downtown to everything was great. We will be back! Oh one last thing. The crew on the morning of 10/23 deserve a shoutout! We had a redeye flight and arrived to the hotel @7am. They had a room available and let us check in!! Even though check in wasn’t until 3pm. No issues at all. That was huge!

Our room was nice and the bed was comfortable but there was so much street noise and wing whistling through the window that it wouldn’t be any noisier if we were down on the street. The food in both restaurants was very good but the service was average. Two couples walked out of dinner service while we were there because no one served them.

Our stay was great. It's a beautiful -- chic -- hotel. The one complaint was the excessive noise from an event below our room and a fire alarm that went off at 1:30AM our last night's stay. If we'd known about the former we'd have asked for a room higher up. The latter couldn't be helped and the concierge at reception quickly reversed the charge for our breakfast that morning (although that still got added to my VISA -- I'll be calling about it).

The Dean was one of my favorite hotels on my trip. The bed was so comfortable. The decor was very modern and everything was very clean. The cocktails at the rooftop restaurant were so delicious as was the charcuterie board. My husband and I also had breakfast the next morning at the rooftop restaurant. Unfortunately the breakfast is very overpriced and my eggs Benedict was served cold. Other than this the hotel itself is absolutely stunning, a perfect location, and the staff is very attentive and friendly.

The Dean is just fine - it’s well situated so those who enjoy a stroll can do so into the Galway city center with ease. The car park is about 1/3 mile away at a public car park but the price is just 12 euros a night and our car was safe and undisturbed. The hotel is trying to be very cool, but it does so at the risk of some common sense - we would have have used one shelf, or a wardrobe, or even more than three hangers on a rail in the room. All this would have been fine if it weren’t for the fact that this was by far the most expensive place we stayed on our 14 day trip through Ireland - it was a splurge and we stayed at some really nice spots where we got a bit more for our money.

Staff should be trained to advise guests on known parking issues and direct them accordingly. We arrived after dark and did not notice the parking restrictions across from the hotel. When I was checking in I specifically told the front desk where I parked and she was cavalier about saying that I would have to move the car before 830 am. The car tire was clamped that morning and the staff was unaware of how to help us although they were kind and tried. It was a very unpleasant experience where if they had procedures on how to advise or rectify parking issues it would have helped all of us.

The Dean Galway is a great hotel to stay at. The rooms have air conditioning, which is hard to come by and there is a wonderful fitness center as well as a pool, sauna, and steam room. The hotel is in a great location as we were able to walk every where. Staff were quite pleasant and hospitable.

The Dean is located about 5 minutes walking from Eyre Square in Galway. This is a main area where you can catch a bus or train. The area is safe but there is not much around for shopping. The hotel itself is gorgeous, the details, decorations, and style is very bougie but some of it is more beautiful than functional. The shower for instance looks nice but the door is not flush with the opening and the floor got soaked anytime we showered. Our king bed was two twin beds and the middle was obvious. The bedframe itself wasnt great either and the marble side tables looked nice but were too big for the space and I found myself hitting them when I was in bed. The staff of the hotel were nice but I feel as if the hotel looks nice but is somewhat impractical.

I was very disappointed with the room. I had to crawl onto the bed as I had no leeway to climb onto the bed from the sides.
It was quite uncomfortable as I suffer from very bad back problems. I did speak to the receptionist and she said they had no rooms available. For the price I paid it was very disappointing.

The service was excellent from the moment we entered the hotel, from reception, bar staff, spa/gym facilities were all very welcoming and helpful. The room was immaculate and the shower was amazing! Very quiet and relaxing hotel. Very accessible to walk into the Latin Quarter but far enough to be away from the noise. Only downside is that we found the parking to be a little far if you are to carry luggage with you to and from the car to the hotel (it’s up hill so it’s easier on the way back). Other than that, pricing for parking is very reasonable considering. Overall, a great hotel with great staff in a perfect location. I will definitely return again!

The Dean Galway…If I could give 6 stars, I would!
From the moment we arrived, the front desk was truly delightful. The baristas? Absolutely adorable. Sophie’s was fantastic, gorgeous view, perfect arancini, great wine list, and service that made us feel special.

The rooms are stunning, and that shower… IYKYK. We didn’t have time to enjoy the beautiful spa area, but trust me, book it, work out, take a dip in the hot tub/pool (whatever they want to call it). It’s lovely.

Bottom line: stop scrolling, stop searching. This is the place to stay in Galway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The staff was professional, welcoming and very friendly. We encountered Erica, David and one other staff member (with the heavy metal band vest). The room was great, very clean, though a bit on the warm side. The only negative was the fitness room below us, when the group fitness instructor started shouting \"Let's Go!\" at 7am. We would love to return; the staff was amazing, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend The Dean to anyone visiting Galway!!

The property itself was very nice. However i stayed on the ground floor and it was pretty loud. My room over looked the pool so it was noisy when there were people out there. As well my second night there was a party in their basement floor and the music was super loud and didnt stop until 11:30pm. The walls were also very thin you could hear in the hallway and the people next to you quite clearly. I stayed in the Mod room so not sure if this is the whole hotel. How er, the staff were extremely lovely people and very kind. The room itself was very clean and the bathroom was great.
