⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Stay – The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach

We had a good stay at The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach. The location is fantastic – right across from the water with beautiful ocean views and easy access to the beach and local cafes. It’s a lovely, relaxed area and perfect for a peaceful getaway.

The room was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. The bed was comfortable and the balcony was a nice bonus for enjoying the sea breeze.

While overall the experience was positive, there were a few small areas that could be improved, but nothing that took away from our stay in a major way. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout.

Overall, a solid and enjoyable place to stay, especially if you’re looking for beachfront views and a quieter coastal vibe.

The Air conditioning turning off every time you walked out on the balcony was annoying. Maybe a time delay would be more appropriate. So if you left the door open it would turn off, but going out and closing the door immediately behind you turning it off, is ridiculous

this is a tough one to review. It could have been a 5 star as the amenties were spacious, clean and a brilliant view. Parking was great. the attached restaurant had reasonably good food. great breakfast. Access to the beach front was fantastic.
Quiet WAS a great option as that one requires when on holiday.
Here is the why it \"WAS\" quiet.
New years eve , yes we want to experiece it - on the beach - in the city - maybe even a night club or pub. NOT . I say NOT on the rooftop bar directly above the apartments people who have early morningtravel the next day. The grinding of chairs and tables scraping and echoing througn your room DOOF DOOF DOOF from 8pm to 1am . seriously who thought this was a good idea..thought being the inoperative word here.

what could have been 5 stars. I give a 2 ( the 10 hour drive the following day was a killer.

We extended an extra night and they were very accommodating. Underground secure parking too. Across the road from a lovely beach.

I recently stayed at The Sebel Margate Beach and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The location is unbeatable — right across from the water, with beautiful ocean views and plenty of cafes, shops, and walking tracks nearby.

The room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable, with all the amenities you could need for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making check-in and check-out quick and easy.

The rooftop area and pool are definite highlights — perfect for enjoying a drink while watching the sunset. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy the coast. I’d definitely stay here again!

The little round utensil jar that you place your cutlery in was all rusted not great for such a beautiful motel, and every morning there was banging from either downstairs or somewhere nearby room 118 that woke us both days, not sure if its from coffee being made but it was annoying as it started around 7am both days

I booked through Wotif only to be told my room was double I tried to show them my confirmation and she shooed me. They tried to bill my card before I transferred the money and when it declined she flicked it at me. They looked at me like I’d crawled out of the sewer. I would have been happy to get a different room but she talked over me and I was so humiliated I had to walk away. The receptionist later called me to have an argument about my booking. I told her to cancel it and had to hang up on her because she was so aggressive. When I tried to call and complain I was put through to the two women responsible for all this Tahlia and I think it was Sophia or something. I can’t even lodge a complaint I keep getting an AI virtual assistant

It was a comfortable clean room. I feel it was very overpriced especially seeing as it does not offer parking for all guests. I had to drive around the block, then two blocks to still find no parking so I called the hotel, and they said they could do nothing for me, so I had to drive around and find a park.
I was absolutely disgusted that my husband could not check in for us….. he has the same surname, and even had my bank card that I used to book.
I have never heard of such stupidity before.
Needless to say, we will not be returning.

We booked accommodation for four and paid for breakfast but the hotel would only honour breakfast for the two adults - this wasn’t noted anywhere when booking so be mindful of this if staying as a family.

Parking was included but is limited and there were no spaces available when we returned from dinner at around 8pm.

The property was nice and the staff at the hotel were great. But the attached restaurant lets the whole thing down badly. The wobbly table, the barmaid who offered to top up my $25 glass of pinot with a different brand because the bottle was finished, or the coffee that took so long, I had finished my breakfast, so ended up asking for it in a take away cup (which still took a few more minutes). The other problem was, my bathroom stunk really strongly of mould.

The Sebel was in a perfect location, close to the beach and a good flat walk to Redcliffe. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to escape the rat race.
The only fault with our stay was the restaurant attached to the hotel Sunny’s where the staff were far from friendly and helpful- I would stay again but would not have breakfast at Sunny’s.

A really lovely property. Wonderful location straight across from the beach, and within walking distance of Redcliffe. Staff were always polite and happy to help.
Only downside was the lift - it was super slow and even with only 3 floors and a basement you could wait a long time for it to arrive. We did make good use of the stairs though.
We will definitely be back.

We ate breakfast at Sunny’s downstairs both mornings of our stay and the waitress, Tahliah was so charming and friendly.
We had cocktails at Sunny’s rooftop bar and the staff there were also lovely and the cocktails perfect. Happy hour is a must!
And try the three cheese arancini balls!!! Delicious

On arrival we were greeted with friendly professionalism, given our room a few hours earlier. We had the Deluxe King Room with a balcony and view direct to the ocean (perfect!!). The decor was great, comfy outdoor and indoor chairs, comfy bed and pillows. Bathroom was a good size with a very nice shower area. Water pressure could have been better, but okay for our 3 night stay. Good size wardrobes, shelves etc, good blackout curtains. The kitchenette was limited - microwave but no bowl to put things in (for small dinners). Even though we were only 2 of us - having exactly 2 of everything (glass, bowl, plate, cutlery etc) was a bit dumb. Change of drink or different use for item meant we had to clean between uses - really? Rooftop pool was okay (just a lap pool) and the bar was good when it was open (Friday and weekends). Nice view from the top when having a drink - lovely bar staff!

DOWNSIDE - we used the balcony to sit outside on balmy nights - every time we went back inside to top up a drink, go to the loo etc, the air con turned off - always had to go back, reset to right temp and air control. Really stupid and a pain in the neck every night.

Twice we used the restaurant - once for hot drinks (took 30 minutes to arrive) and once for breakfast (took about the same time). Scrambled eggs were cold on the outside, warm on the inside, ciabatta bread was toasted but soft. We didn't complain - didn't have time to wait another 30 or more minutes!
