We really enjoyed our stay at The Oasis Tropical Hotel. The rooms are lovely & all with balcony. The food for breakfast & dinner was excellent, with lots of choice & all prepared & cooked to a high standard.
We loved the swimming pool area, and the bar area.
The one thing we were surprised about was the attitude of some of the waitresses in the dining room. They were mostly rude. We had a waitress rolling her eyes at us, telling us to move to a different table because we were 3, and there were 4 placemats!
It didn’t spoil our holiday, but it was a bit disappointing!

Lovely hotel but be careful in eth car park!

Love this hotel, have stayed there many times over the years. It's clean, comfortable and rooms are well equipped. It offers excellent value for money.
Our only criticisms are the very loud dining hall. You could almost do with ear plugs when its' full with everyone shouting. And a warning to those parking their cars there - the outside parking is quite limited, with cars squeezing in where are no spaces. Unfortunately our car was damaged in the car park, however we didn't notice until we'd left. You'd be better off parking your car elsewhere. A rather disappointing end to a lovely stay.

Good facilities, clean a little distance from shops etc. Do not like the fact that people take sun beds in prime locations and place towels on them to prevent others using. This is a selfish issue that hotels should monitor with a time limit. Not all day!

Delightful Hotel

Receptionist a pleasure. All staff were so friendly it was a treat. Really large bedroom with 2 full size doubles that were very comfortable. Our room overlooked the fabulous pools to the sea which is just across the road. Superb fish restaurant there. They are very happy just to serve you drinks. The food is delicious so well worth a visit.
This is a family hotel for school holidays that has super things to keep the youngsters happy. Saying that we would definitely stay here again.
The Buffet breakfast and dinner were fabulous. So much choice. something for everyone I’d say. This visit was sadly only 4 nights. It was €12 Taxi trip to the centre of Mojácar. Well worth a visit.

Bad to worse - not 5 star, more like 3 star

My partner and I travelled from England on the 26th July, booked a sea view room and we were placed in room 2085. Initial impressions were good. Very friendly staff and a modern reception area.

Everything appeared good, a lovely view of the sea with a reasonably sized balcony. Large room and bathroom. I did notice the bathroom wasn't particularly that clean, white plastic toilet seat was a urine stained colour.

In the evening I could hear everything the guests were saying in surrounding rooms.
The furniture not being attached to the walls and like most hotels, they place two single beds in a double room. Any slight movement (turning position in bed) from the surrounding rooms is like an earth-quake (slightly exaggerating). No soft closing on any door, guests leaving early or arriving... be prepared to wake everyone up with nice slam of the door.

These premium sea view rooms have a children's park directly in front and is used at all hours even at 11:30pm one night. Walls being made from paper, this noise adds to your frustration.

I politely asked the reception to change my room, they placed me directly above at 3085, the staff are very welcoming and friendly.

Unfortunately, this room suffered the EXACT same issues (including toilet seat issue).

I left some litter on the side, the cleaner didn't take it. Next day, I placed rubbish (more) in a bag - same result.

When they changed the bed sheets, sand or debris still remained.

I won't be staying here again.

Dated decor and when it rained, much of the hotel leaked with water in corridors and in some rooms. Flakey paintwork and aircon heating not very efficient. Atleast the food hall had microwaves which were much needed over our three week stay. In need of a revamp before the summer to truly be 4Star ?

The staff are friendly and the hotel is spacious and clean. Unfortunately the photos on the hotels.com website were a misrepresentation of the dated and dreary condition and atmosphere of this property. Unfortunately the corridors are dark and much of the hotel is reminiscent of the 90's era.
I paid for full board accommodation and regretted it the moment we saw the dinner buffet. It tasted as bad as it looked and the quality of substandard dishes and ingredients was evident.
Be aware that some of the facilities pictured on the website are not included in the rate, and so activity options are limited when there's not much else to do in Mojarcar in the winter months.

We’ve been staying at this hotel for 4yrs but this time around it was disappointing. Granted we use to only use it for sleeping and didn’t take the time out to watch any of the entertainment at the hotel or use the restaurant. But travelling with two teenagers we tried it one day she night, Never again. Firstly they turned the heating on in the rooms which was extremely hot when we asked at reception we were encountered by rude member of staff who was unhelpful. We asked for a fan for the two rooms we booked and all he could say was no then walked away. I then had to call him back and say why he replied no again so I requested for the manager.

He reluctantly went to the back came back 5min later said nothing to us and left me asking where is the manager.
A lady they came from the back telling me it’s winter so all heating are on so I proceeded to say it’s 27 degrees outside and we are hot in the night so could we have a fan we are travelling with kids she gave me the same answer as the other guy then said I’ll check with the manager and let you know. Needless to say no one came back to us.

In the meantime as I stood there they handed a fan to a Spanish family while I stood and watch I questioned that and was told they requested it. So I said well I am also requesting it she would pay if I had to. Once again I was ignored.

The impression I am getting here is either they are racist or only serve Spanish with kindness.

All in all a terrible service.

Great hotel across the road from the beach. Hotel great appearance but, food that would otherwise be great, was cold!! Rubbish breakfast, even when I watched for the fresh stuff coming out, and I was first to get to it, some of it was still luke warm! I don’t know why, it must cost them more for us to then go get a second plate of something else, than to just serve us hot stuff in the first place. Best advice, just go to the chef at the back and get him to cook there dish in front of you. Only other concern was staff looked cheesed off, probably worn out doing the same old routine.

Hotel room and general hotel was good nice and clean a little dated but ok parking was stupidly expensive @ 10euro per day and no option to pay daily only full time of your stay or not at all, drinks overpriced they where over double in the hotel to outside even the water was over 3 euros for 1.5lt bottle and if you brought your own into the hotel / restaurant you was asked to remove it not good at all, food options were amazing not to much for the kids tho, also this hotel is mainly Spanish very little English the entertainment in the evening was fun for kids all spoken in Spanish so a little hard to work out what’s going ok but the kids had fun the pools are amazing and lots going on all day overall we had a good stay but don't think I would go back.

There are not sufficient facilities for the numbers of guests. Consequently, prepare to queue for all meals, sun beds, bar service, reception, insufficient parking. Definitely set up for families, so not good if you want a relaxing break. Restaurant is particularly chaotic.

The hotel is just across the road from the Beach. There was no air conditioning when we stayed, which wasn't too much pf a problem. Our toilet seat was loose but was fixed the next day after we reported it. There was one day when our room was not cleaned and we did not have fresh towels. New towels were sent to our room when we told reception.

Time away to relax

We often stay here as a good value break. It was a bit too busy with young people on group cycling holiday this time so restaurant rather overwhelmed by them and rather noisy. Usually out of season nice and quiet. We go to recover from hard work. Indoor pool always very pleasant. Busier than usual. Selection of salads and cooked to order kitchen very good for the bsrgain price. Sea view rooms are worth the extra but bathrooms and bedrooms ready for upgrading.

The resort was beautiful, rooms clean and spacious. It was very busy and noisy. The buffet was so noisy, you couldn’t carry on a conversation. The food was mediocre at both breakfast and dinner. Drinks are not included in the dinner, ½ litre of water was 1.50 euros.

Mojacar hotel.

Lovely area of Spain , the hotel was easy to locate, just on the edge of Mojacar. Our room was good, spotless and we had a balcony. We stayed half board and ate well. Plenty of choice and fresh food available. Perhaps not a 4 star but The value for money was excellent . We enjoyed our brief stay at the Best tropic oasis . Yes we would stay here again. Thank you to the management and staff for an enjoyable stay.

This hotel has seen better days and caters to the budget minded. The staff was quite nice, our room good sized, but beds, bedding, bathrooms all felt shabby. Because we were using it as a stop on a long drive we opted for a dinner & breakfast package. The buffet was mediocre, food lukewarm except for the two stations where they were adding turkey and making chicken satay. Not somewhere I will stay again, although the rate was certainly good.

This must be our 9th visit to this hotel because it is convenient for our bowling tournament. Room was very good. The public toilets in the bar area are a disgrace and have been the same for the last few years, about time something was done to improve the situation. Food good as usual but sometimes a bit repetitive. Had a slight problem as two of our guests had to leave early and reception staff were not interested and not at all helpful. May stay again but will search other options next time.

Good value beach hotel, but poor view

Good value for money hotel, nice staff, good breakfast. Ok lunch. Nice bedrooms but avoid rooms 2040, 3040, 4040 and 5040...worst “view” !
Was there for a conference. Meeting room was spacious but no aircon available. Lots of dragging beer kegs or similar in the adjoining alleyway/hotel kitchen area on one side, then someone decided to do some noisy floor polishing right outside the door, so a little more thought needed there.

Hotel caters to mainly Spanish pensioners on coach trips. Very busy at weekends. Staff ok, but rarely smile! Food good facilities good, and entertainment was ok. Hotel very noisy at all times. We stayed 6 nights and bed linen wasn't changed at all although towels were changed on request. Would we stay again? In mojacar, yes, but this hotel, no, not for us.

Nice location on the sea front but the room and particularly the bathroom needed a bit of TLC.
Buffet breakfast was ok all the basics but drinks at the bar, although generous measures were a bit expensive.We stayed for just 3 nights B&B in early March using it as a base as we explored the area.

Nice hotel at a quiet time of year

We stayed for one night while touring the area. The hotel is large with good amenities and across from the beach - but a few minutes drive away from restaurants etc. As it was January mid-week the hotel was VERY quiet but we were still able to use the heated covered outdoor pool/hot-tub. The room was a good size and clean- we paid a few Euros for an ocean view. We had paid for half-board and were pleasantly surprised by the range of food available seeing as there were so few guests. Certainly something for everyone. We wouldn't want to eat from the same buffet every night but for one night it was excellent value (included a very good breakfast buffet too!). There is a large bar with a good selection of drinks at very reasonable prices!

While there wasn't anything that stands out as being horrible about this hotel, they really need to make some improvements. The rooms are dated, there were holes in our bedsheets (several about the size of a euro coin), and the common spaces were in poor shape as well. Another thing that was very disappointing was the hot tub, which wasn't hot -- it wasn't even warm, actually. Thinking that perhaps the hotel may not have been aware of the problem, I asked a staff member, but he said that's just the way it is, and there is nothing they can do about it. To be clear, it was cold enough that we had goosebumps and had to get out after a few minutes. The other thing that surprised me was no room service.

That said, the staff was really friendly. We did enjoy that our room had a small balcony, and sat out on it late one night, watching the people and random dogs walking around the parking lot. The water pressure in the shower was also incredibly strong, which I like. The beds were extremely firm (better too firm than too soft, in my opinion). The location is great, with easy driving access to lots of good restaurants etc. Finally, parking close by was free, which was great.

That said, there are enough hotels too choose from these days to deal with stuff like holes in the sheets and a cold \"hot tub,\" so we will not be back.

Best Oasis in Mojacar

Pleasant and friendly staff at this hotel. During a short stay in over a weekend in November the hotel was almost full but a good standard of service prevailed. Restaurant busy as you would expect, good choice of food and well presented. Overall a recommended hotel.

The hotel itself was a nice hotel, but the service from staff needs working on. Buffet food choice was very poor and limited staff around. Having stayed in other hotels in the area this was part of the hotel was a big let down
The free parking was very limited altough there was further parking at the front of the hotel this was a little walk round to the entrance or you could pay for underground parking.
Entertainment was very limited and what there was wasn't organised very well and was mainly in Spanish.
TV in the room consisted of 2 English channels - both NEWS! Beds were very comfy and very soft bedding
No tea or Coffee making in the room, but not many Spanish hotels have this.
Heated outdoor pool was lovely and warm but when more than a few people are there its very cramped.
Reception tried to charge us for items charged to our room which we didn't have - we didn't charge anything to our room, but if we had, we could have easily paid for these by mistake, so check your bills.
Would I stay here again? No probably not but only because I have stayed in better in the same area. But this is my preference.

Hotel was very clean and convenient for the beach.

This Hotel provided us with what we were looking for. Somewhere to stay while we found a nice villa to rent for a month. Mission was accomplished and to that end the Hotel pretty much ticked all the boxes. However, it is a typical tourist hotel that deals in quantity not necessarily quality. For what we paid, the room was adequate and drinks were reasonably priced. We selected Full Board. Not because we intended to use it particulaly, but because it was only a little more expensive than the other options. Breakfast and Dinner were buffet style, which I suppose lunch was also. We only used the evening buffet on the first night. It was not very good. Considering what we paid however, it was value for money so no complaints. We never used the breakfast buffet which did not look appetising and we were never around for lunch. The Hotel is at the wrong end of Mojacar as far as restaurants go and dining out go. Most of the restaurants etc are further along the beach.

They put us in a room where the balcony faced the car park and the entire week there were workmen digging up right outside our room. This was noisy, dusty and not at all what we expected. We were woken up by this and had no privacy as a result. The room itself was fine, the shower not great. Rusty hand rail in the bath, rusty shower head and hose and the water was brown when first turned on, probably due to all the rust. The Sky TV only worked the first day, so only Spanish programmes available, though not a disaster but it is nice to keep up with the news around the world. Staff as friendly as ever but will probably not bother again as would rather avoid all the issues mentioned.

Holiday in Mojacar.

We have stayed at this hotel before and would recommend it for couples and families. There is a good choice of food three times a day no way would you be hungry. the hotel is right opposite the beach but also offers an adult and a children's swimming pool also a covered pool in winter.

Very poor room 2014. Right next to hotel service area. Woken at 4am by garbage collection or other such service vehicles. Will not risk this hotel again.

Over crowded, out of date and sub standard

We did not stay longer than 2 hours before we checked out and left. Our family room was situated next to the music stage and had a bad odour coming from over the balcony. The car park is a joke as its permanently full. The staff suggestion is to park by the beach and walk upto the hotel.

The hotel was a long walk from some of the bars and restaurants. All information/activity leaflets, etc. were printed in Spanish so required translating. Room was nice but air-con pulled in the waft of cigarette smoke so we turned it off.

My 6th time at the Oasis and the last time. BAD!!!

I have previously written glowing reports of this hotel. I have stayed at the hotel many occasions. Primarily I used to stay because the food was good NOT NOW. I brought my wife and parents to the hotel for 4 days. Reception was hardly polite. Dinner was awful every night and my room was not cleaned one day. Having previously been a very big fan I intend to stay elsewhere. I asked to speak to the manager twice and both times I was informed he was not available.

Oasis Tropical trip for 2

The most relaxing holiday I have ever had. The hotel is located at the top end and quietest part of Mojacar.
The hotel residents were mainly Spanish families and there are few staff who speak fluent English. Same applies to the surrounding shops, bars and restaurants.
We chose to wander between the hotel, village, and beach to meet our basic needs of food, drink, gifts and lazing around.
Full board is available but we booked room only and tried the buffet restaurant once. The food was good, but it was hectic.
We preferred the bars and restaurants nearby which were very reasonable priced, meals for 2 ranging from 6 euros for coffee and toast breakfast, to 50 euros for a 3 course meal and bottle of wine.
There is a bus service runs half hourly to the main part of the resort if you want more liveliness.

I am not sure how this hotel is getting more than 2 stars. The hotel is noisy, the staff does not smile, the rooms are tired, the food is so, so... I stayed here since my Villa was occupied by tenants. I needed and iron and an ironing board to iron a shirt. They did have an iron but no ironing board. The front desk person said to make it work some how. Then she requested a 20 Euro deposit for the iron.... Really? I just walked away in disbelief. As far as the noise... how on earth can you blast music at 9:00 in the morning in the pool area? I was up, but I could not imagine others who wanted to sleep. So, never again. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Firstly - excellent booking service from Expedia. Can't be faulted.

Hotel very shabby for a four star. The bedroom was sparse and in need of renovation. The air con was pathetic! Final straw was when we were \"allocated\" a breakfast time slot of between 0915 and 0940 - no other time acceptable!
Staff, especially in the bar area, very friendly.
We had booked for three nights but checked out after one and into the adjoining 4 star Marina Playa which was like moving from a travelooge into the Hilton (for very little extra)

I do not recommend

Very noisy, especially late at night. Food very basic and only warm with very little variation during the week. What was on offer at lunch was the same for dinner. There was no information available about the hotel facilities (I expect to have this in the room but apparently this hotel does not have an information pack in the room) - ie where to get pool towels (and even when I did find out the spa was closed both times when I tried to get one). How to get the WiFi code. I was given the incorrect code 4 times and had to go to reception each time. ect ect. A long walk to either of the lifts and the cleaning staff sometimes block the single lift door open to stop the lift from moving.
