I booked this property but I was assigned by the front desk to the sister property across the street. Hotel Playa because supposedly it was quieter. El Flamenco seems to attract young, loud, party oriented travelers. This is a family owned group of properties including a restaurant. They seem to save Hotel Playa rooms (about7-8 rooms) for guests’ overflow This review is for Hotel Playa.Both properties are old and very run down. The one thing Hotel Playa has going for it is the location facing the beach. If you like to sleep with the sound of waves this is for you and it’s a few steps to the water. Now, the property includes access to a pool/lounge that starts playing very loud club music as early as 11 am till well after midnight. This is a pool/bar open to anyone and not just hotel guests , 20 year olds drinking , dancing and flirting poolside which is fine but not ok if you want to relax or take your kids to the pool. Not child friendly.
As for the room, tiny old TV oddly placed, rusty doors, walls with holes and stains, some towels are old and raggedy. Dark room, front desk not responsive to request to fix a broken light. Musty/humid small throughout but I guess to be expected in an old building across from the sea. The one good thing : AC worked. I asked about a refrigerator as the property’s picture showed one. I was told there were no fridges, the pics were from the previous hotel management which is deceiving. Poor price/quality. Awful.

Nice traditional Spanish hotel right on the beach and in an excellent position for the beach,bars and shops within easy walking distance. It is very basic but very clean with friendly staff. It has a small restaurant that serves good food.

We use this (very Spanish) hotel A lot when in Mojácar for a few days of drinking, eating and chilling. Perfectly comfortable , air con works , bread and coffee as part of your breakfast.
That’s all you need right. If you are looking for an amazing luxury experience then you shouldn’t be coming to this part of Spain anyway. In fact stay away please.

Bedroom consisted of 4 camp beds and wasn’t the double room we had requested.
We had to keep the curtains closed as the neighbouring hotel’s balcony was about 2 meters from our window giving no privacy, and we could hear their conversations till 4am.
The pool is a public pool across the road, nice enough but could do with replacing the sun beds which were all broken...I’d recommend going along the sea line and getting complimentary ones from one of the bars instead.
Air-con was switched off at the mains, no idea why.
No hairdryer and complimentary toiletries were rubbish.
WiFi only worked in the reception area.
But, the staff were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is located in a perfect position within walking distance to some great beach bars and restaurants. The hotel itself is basic with quite tired furniture that has seen better days, however it is very clean, the sheets were freshly laundered and clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was no fridge in our room or tea making facilities, you might have been able to hire the tea making facilities at reception but we didn’t ask. The shower holder was broken and the water was only just warm enough to shower.
The swimming pool area definitely needed a clean up and a coat of paint.
For a one night stay it’s fine, but not sure I would want to stay longer than that.

The Heartbreak hotel
The hotel we were booked in was closed down. It is 13:40 when we arrived at the hotel. There was no signs nor anyone to ask why the hotel was closed down. I wondered into a next door souvenir shop and the owner didn't have a clue. He said they had another hotel they owned called The Playa Hotel. I approached it and it turned out they owned the Flamenco Hotel we were booked in. There was no record of a booking on our names nor of payment made for the 7 nights. Didn't know either if breakfast was included. It was more of a B&B place than a hotel. We paid gbp 350 for 7 nights for 2 persons. The room rate advertised per night in the hotel reception was 40 Euro per night. We have been grossly overcharged by Expedia.

This place is amazing value for money. The view alone was to die for being just across the road with an open view to the Med. Wonderful sunrises that's for sure! The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was OK (tired, but at least clean and for the price, what would anyone expect!) Bed was very comfortable and the bath and shower were great. We'd definitely stay for a few days beach holiday again.

The hotel was ok and very clean service was slow but ok,we arrived at 12oclock to check in but the room was not ready because the last lot of people did not leave on time so we waited nearly 1hour more to go in so was very hot for us,the pool is shared with another hotel who own it and they are very rude to other guests who are not staying with them don't pay the bar price but go to the supermarket across the road and buy your drinks the same as the Spanish guys do,other than that was a great stay outside food was great ask around for great eating houses.

Whilst this is not a modern hotel it was absolutely perfect for our family of four.

A good one on a really tight budget.
The staff were really helpful upon check in. We'd booked 3 rooms, so ideally wanted them all together. The description given when we booked was that the rooms had a balcony terrace and air con, which was not quite true. We had to ask for a balcony terrace and out of the 3 rooms we had, only 2 of these actually had air con. Very basic rooms which could have done with a fridge to keep our drinks cool. The bed was a double which is always hit and miss in Spain, though a very small one, and most uncomfortable.The staff were great, very welcoming and helpful and the cleaning staff did an amazing job on a daily basis. It was a real budget place to stay, so given the price I'd say it was value for money. Excellently situated though, with plenty on offer all around.

Por lo demás es muy basico todo, las habitaciones muy amplias y cómodas pero feas. Que sea sencillo y económico no está reñido con que tenga un poco mas de gusto. El personal lo mejor, muy atentos. Hemos estado este fin de semana y pedimos una habitación la verdad me quedé sorprendida porque por un precio asequible estábamos en primera linea de playa al lado de los garitos de moda no se escuchaba nada en la habitación la ubicación perfecta, el personal muy amable nos recomendaron ir a la piscina de enfrente del hotel que es gratis con buena música buen ambiente, la habitación con una terraza grande y vistas al mar,aire acondicionado y todo lo necesario el único pero que pondría es que la persiana estaba rota y a las 8 de la mañana entraba toda la luz se lo dijimos al chico para que lo tomara en cuenta pero es el unico pero sin duda si vuelvo vendre a este sitio lo recomiendo 💯

La habitación \"económica\" no disponia de aire acondicionado, habia que dejar la ventana de la habitación abierta, que ni siquiera tenia rejas siendo un bajo.

No gustó nada. Nada recomendable. La recepción fue muy poco educada. El camarero te habla de \"prima\" como si lo conocieras de toda la vida. La habitación sin aire acondicionado en pleno agosto porque, supuestamente era una habitación económica pero era la habitación que ofertaban. Rogando un triple y un mando a distancia para la tele, que tampoco era gran cosa, y nos lo dieron la última noche. La piscina está en un chiringuito de copas a parte, para todo el mundo igual, estés o no alojado, y para tener derecho a ella tienes que consumir, nada barato por cierto, y las tumbonas las cobran a parte. Pides una pulsera (hay que pedirla no te la ofrecen) para un descuento de 1€ jaja solo una vez, no creas que dura para toda la estancia. Menos mal que con buena compañia todo se lleva mejor.

El Hostal tiene unas instalaciones pésimas, al parecer está enfocado para el turismo de borrachera, porque pedí una habitación doble y me dieron una con cuatro camas. No es apto para personas mayores o con movilidad reducida. En fin, Hostal pésimo que te cobra como si fuera un Hotel de cuatro estrellas.

Mi experiencia ha sido muy mala, habiamos reservado 2 noches por 45€/noche y al llegar nos dijeron que ese precio era para habitaciones sin aire acondicionado, si queríamos aire costaban a 70€ la noche, desayuno, comida y cena carisimo para ser un hostal, lo anunciaban con piscina y en pleno mes de julio y plena ola de calor estaba cerrada 😡😡😡 vamos que no lo recomiendo y no volveremos más, lo tengo claro

La experiencia en el hostal fue horrible, un sitio sucio, viejo, camas incómodas, vistas horribles a un descampado que daba más miedo por la noche que otra cosa. Encima cuando llegamos el que nos atendió nos soltó alguna vacilada innecesaria puesto que no somos niños como para tener que amenazarnos...en definitiva, horrible experiencia en este sitio que hará que no vuelva a Mojácar en mi vida salvo que no me quede más remedio, y si vuelvo por supuesto no será ahí. Lo único bueno de alojamiento es la ubicación que está cerca de toda los locales de fiesta y de la playa, por lo demás, no se corresponde con lo que la web dice: la habitación casi oscura porque tiene poquísima iluminación, no nos dieron toallas un día porque se quedaron sin ellas, el secador del pelo había que pedirlo todos los días a recepción y la plancha siempre la tenían otros clientes. Los trabajadores iban sin mascarilla, todo muy viejo y con muy mala apariencia.

La ubicación del hotel es muy buena y tienes parking, también el desayuno está bien. Si depende cómo te tomes el trato que tienen te puede gustar o no. Llegamos y nos dieron la llave de la habitación, esta estaba sin limpiar/preparar, regrese a recepción para avisar de esto y me dio dos llaves más para que vea otras habitaciones si estaban ok y luego le devuelva las llaves de las anteriores. Para estacionar tienen una cadena, la cual te dan 4 llaves a adivinar cuál es la del candado y la cual tienes que devolver cada vez que sales. Nos avisaron luego de reservar que la piscina estaba cerrada. Saquen sus conclusiones...
