The pool is being renovated, so the room we had probably comes with a view which is very nice, but not now. Also, the entire pedestrian area across the street by the Mediterranean is closed off due to repairs, which takes away a benefit of being so close to the Sea.

Major works were underway we got hit my falling plaster so requested to leave property with a revived only when i involved the local police was a refund offered

It was dangerous unclean and should not be sold until the work us completed

A beautiful setting but no mention of extensive building works happening. At 8am scaffolding was erected next to our balcony and drilling followed. Not the relaxing stay we were hoping for. When they’ve rebuilt the pool I think it will be a great place to stay.

Breakfast was too expensive at 19€ so ate elsewhere for a fraction of the cost. No air con. No pool. Heating was on even though the outside temp was 26° plus. Staff gave us a fan but we still had to sleep with the door open as no opening windows. Staff very friendly. However, I felt the hotel was far too expensive for what we had. I checked several nearby hotels that were as good and we're €50 a night cheaper. In all we had a good stay but overpriced and lacking basic amenities such as air con and swimming pool.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was spacious and comfortable. I made the mistake of thinking that the Parador would be in the old town but it's not, it's on the Playa de Mojacar (beach) about a 10 minute car ride away. But it worked out fine.
Breakfast was excellent by the way!

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was on the lowest floor, right next to the road. Had we been staying longer than one night, I would have tried to swap rooms for on higher up with a proper view of the sea.
We ate in the restaurant in the hotel and were very disappointed, it was very harshly lit, looked like a school canteen and it was freezing, I watch as others came in and shivered and put on coats and cardigans - we did ask the staff if they could do something about the air conditioning. We did not enjoy our meal there, my partner asked for his steak medium rare, but it was just seared and raw inside, even after we sent it back. I did not enjoy my choice of food and left most of it. So would not recommend for an evening meal. However breakfast was another matter, we got to sit out on the balcony, the food was lovely and fresh, though served in odd little portions and orders for cooked breakfast taken at the table and freshly cooked.

Whole hotel was spotless and all staff very friendly. Room was great with nice balcony, overlooking rear garden area.
It seems that most rooms are same size but the sea view rooms that were more expensive looked more old fashioned ! I prefered our more modern room !
Car parking is limited even in October but plenty just outside gates on playa.
A little downside is no free water in room but lots shops to get from, it seems essential that to drink water to stay hydrated in the heat !!

Short break with family.

From friendly staff to the cleanliness of this hotel it was 1st class.
Only disappointment was the breakdast was very ordinary. Limited hot options unlike many other hotels.
5 stars for the hotel and unfortunately id give 2 for the breakfast.

Good quality buffet breakfast, excellent dinning in the restaurant, with wonderful service from all the staff throughout the hotel in all departments. Large suite with great facilities. If I could say something negative the bathroom could do with an update, nothing wrong with the Roca fittings just a little dated so not really any issue more preference. Outdoor grounds very extensive and immaculate. Good sized outdoor pool and plenty of loungers and umbrellas. Special mention to the lifeguard who could not do enough for everyone and constantly worked hard all day. Reception staff could not of been any more helpful and professional. The cleaning staff could not have done a better job. All in we could not fault our stay and we can recommend that you will not be disappointed if you decide to book.

Great property and great landscaping. Parking was easy. However, if you're looking for a nice cup of coffee in the morning and you did not get the breakfast buffet.You can't even buy a cup of coffee on site. Mercedes
And Vanessa were the two most rude hotel personnel we came across in our two weeks on the road. Dinner was just ok

Wonderful hotel

We had an amazing time at this wonderful hotel. We have stayed in many paradors and this is definitely one of the best. The staff are extremely professional and friendly especially Christina who is an asset to the hotel , she was extremely helpful and very good at her job!
Breakfast was extremely good with plenty of choice on offer.
The room was incredibly clean and the beds very comfortable with very good linen.
The pool attendant was very helpful and the pool towels were good quality and readily available .
The hotel cat Marianna gave us a lovely greeting and made it a pleasure when we walked in every evening .
We will definitely return .

I would only comment on the fact that the bar only opened at 2030hrs at the same time as the restaurant This surprised me as there were adverts at reception for cocktails that were available and I would have thought opening the bar an hour earlier than the restraurant for people to have a drink before dinner would have been more sensible.

Quiet and stylish

Being out of main season, the hotel was quiet and not all facilities such as the pool were open. Our room was comfortable and spacious and, despite not being a designated sea view room, we could see the sea from our balcony. Staff were efficient and friendly. As we were visiting friends in the area, we didn’t use the restaurant. There were pleasant areas to sit inside the hotel and in the well kept grounds. The hotel is situated across the road from the beach and close to the commercial centre. An easy walk took us to the main part of Mojacar Playa with a variety of bars and restaurants. We felt it was more suited to couples rather than families.

The facilities and cleanliness were excellent. The big letdown was with the food and food area. Here they are: the lighting in the dining room for diner was like sitting under arc lights ie no ambiance at all! The food was mediocre and expensive and we had expected more. Service was OK but lacked finesse and they needed a Maitre'd. The worst fault was to serve very good red wine from an extreme cold chiller. Oh dear. Definite room for improvement at this Parador.

Lovely stay .

The hotel was excellent and well situated on the main road in Mojacar overlooking the beach.
We had to go down stairs to our too and in the evenings it was very dark. The automatic lighting needs to activate more quickly .
We would definitely revisit and also book other Parador hotels.

Confusing hotel layout, we saw others equally confused, that meant our room was a long walk from reception and the corridors were very cold, it was January and we had lashing rain, so perhaps this was uncommon. The decor is tasteful and had it not been so cold, comfortable. Bathrooms are very well appointed and beds and pillows comfortable, but quilts could have been heavier, for the time of year. Breakfast was very disappointing for the additional charge, it simply wasn’t worth it and I’d recommended using one of the restaurants that are very close to the hotel. As a vegan myself, the choice was abysmal. They offered a vegan salad, this consisted of a tablespoons worth of chopped tomato and onion, with some dried oregano, otherwise unseasoned and not enough to cover a slice of toast. Like the small portions of salad, pieces of fruit was rationed into little glasses, which made the selection look larger than it was. The ladies serving were rushed off their feet. Hot offerings were available, to order separately. Coffee served by the cup, which needed to be ordered, as did the tea. It didn’t feel relaxing and considering the price, one of the worst breakfasts I’ve ever seen in a decent Spanish Hotel. I would stay at the hotel again, I would not pay for breakfast and the dinner menu did not encourage me to eat there, but would suit a meat or fish eater I’m sure.

The hotel location was fantastic, literally over the road from the sea. Lots of parking available too, inside, the hotel is immaculate, very modern. Unfortunately though, there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, but I would definitely stay at the parador again in the future

Loved the location and the amazing breakfast. Easy access by bus to the old town of Mojacar. The pool was fabulous and our room was lovely and spacious and was on the ground floor where we had easy access to the pool and our own lovely patio area. We ate at the restaurant one evening and we felt it was quite pricy and had a limited menu, we did only eat there for the view and that did not disappoint. Good place to explore the area we had a great day out at Fort Bravo. The hotel is unique because of the fabulous pool view and sea view I loved listening to the sea while sitting on my patio. A very modern parador hotel with great facilities, we have stayed in a few and would return to this one.

Lovely old building but be prepared to change floors and there is a lot of walking. Dinner menu very limited with some items not available - do not cater for a international taste. Instructions for wifi connect very poor. The whole place just does not feel to be professionally run, its more like a National Trust property being run by volunteers.

Initial view of hotel was very positive. Receptionist very helpful and friendly and reception area looked modern and clean.
Equally, room was very good. Modern, spacious and clean.
However, bar and restaurant area were very poor. It was like walking into a different hotel!
Very small, no atmosphere, a mismash of furniture and styles.
When i asked the waiter where the bar area was, he pointed and said you are in it..!
A few metal chairs and one token sofa.
Very poor and not matching the standard of the rest of the property.

We found room door really difficult to open with key card,just by chance after several various attempts we finally did.when we mentioned this to reception staff they informed us that you needed to pull forward this knob in the centre of the door after you swiped the keycard and then Push! They seemed horrified that we were trying to push the door after only swiping the keycard like most hotels. It would have been helpful if they told us this on checkin as I’ve never come accross this system before, and I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels.no price list in room for mini bar, we just used2 small bottles of water which were E 2.50 each. Had dinner there one night .. food was ok but expensive for what you got. Good location between Garucha and Mojacar playa. Free parking which was a bonus as we paid up to 15 Euro a night in other hotels in Spain on this trip.some of the sun beds could do with replacing, in poor condition

Check in a little slow. Room a decent size, very clean, bed comfortable but pillows hard. No tea and coffee facilities in room or complimentary water which one would expect.Good refrigerator and safe and nice balcony. Pool area a little strange with the pool being fenced off ( not shown in promotional photos) and terrace with skylights from the rooms below.Old uncomfortable sun beds. Breakfast decent, a lovely balcony to sit on and enjoy sunrise. No sunset views though. Within walking distance of bars, restaurants and shops.

Good clean hotel, but disappointed with breakfast

Very disappointed with breakfast, we were told that there wasn’t a hot buffet, but they would bring what we wanted, so we thought it would be freshly cooked, but when the waiter came back a few minutes later it was obvious he had gone to the kitchen & just pick it of trays, fried egg was hard & warm , bacon was just warm & very salty. So I left it & made do with toast & fruit. But Hotel was very clean & service was good.

We stayed here for 1 night expecting to enjoy quite a beautiful stay because it’s a Parador but we were disappointed primarily based on a value for money. The bed were uncomfortable and the room was underwhelming + the pool is mediocre. I would recommend giving the other hotels in the area a stay and saving your Parador experience for another location, I heard some are beautiful.

Well laid out, low rise property in the style of a Parador. Comfortable well equipped rooms, all with terrace or balcony. We had a garden level room with direct access from our terrace into the gardens and pool. Only 1 missing point was the lack of tea / coffee facilities in the room.

We stayed for 5 nights off season from 29th Feb and found the hotel to be very central to everything in Mojacar. The staff We’re very friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English to us! Our room, 508, was very large with fantastic pool and sea views, it was cleaned daily and the only thing we would have changed were the beds which were just a bit firm for us. There are so many cafes and restaurants nearby we never ate at the hotel so can’t comment on the food. However, the hotel comes across as well run, clean and modern but with a lovely rustic spanish charm to it! I would recommend it to anyone!

The property is split into new and old sections. The old needs to be refurbished but is still very pleasant. However during a cold and unusually wet winter, the old part can't cope with the damp and it should be avoided. The hotel were incredibly helpful and accommodating and moved me immediately to the new part of the hotel which warrants an Excellent rating.

Very nice hotel right on beach front, very spacious room, we didn't pay for breakfast as usual price was excessive but many cafes nearby.

Wi fi was free but was patchy we couldn't access on the terrace in our room.

Ate in hotel restaurant once my choice of lamb shoulder was excellent but my wife was disappointed in her meal.

Lovely room with sea view but I was very disappointed with my first visit to a parador. The price of the room did not justify facilities or experienced. An event in hotel took over and made us feel in the way. All the staff were busy with the event and then the peace and quiet of the pool and terrace was ruined by the children from the event taking over that area too. Not a relaxing experience at all. Gym was another disappointment, poorly equipped with no water it towels and ineffective air conditioning.

Our rooms in the Parador de Mojacar were exceptionally comfortable and clean. They opened onto a small patio in a beautiful, interior courtyard. The restaurant is excellent, both for the breakfast buffet (lots of delicious choices) and the gourmet dinners. The staff was welcoming and helpful.

Good location on beach yet easy reach of Mojacar old town. The hotel is set in nice gardens and is relatively quiet. Rooms are a good size and well equipped though no tea making facilities. Paradors are usually full of character, often old historic buildings which have been rescued and preserved, I struggled to see the \"why\" of this particular hotel and no information was to be found. We did however have a pleasant stay and would stay here again.

Nice hotel with a nice pool and across the street from the beach.

Positives: Big pool. Nice breakfast buffet. Onsite parking available. Nice rooms with great views. Close to beach. Cute town with lots of fun restaurants. Towels available for a 10 euro refundable deposit per towel. Waitresses bring free samples of fresh juices to people around the pool.

Negatives: Rocky beach with cold water. AC in room did NOT work well. Lunch buffet was crazy-expensive and the food was only ok. Pool area has chairs and umbrellas, but they are oddly spaced out on an oddly designed plaza, broken up by large light-wells.

Parador Mojacar

The Parador is a first class Hotel. Every effort is made by the Hotel to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The buffet breakfast is a delight!
My Wife had an health issue on one of the days of our 2 week stay. The hotel handled this superbly well and the problem was resolved extremely quickly. .Would stay there again!!

Delight on the beach at Mojacar

Apart from bad acoustics (we could hear guests to left and above) the hotel was a joy to stay in. Would recommend to others.

Out of Season

Hotel was nearly empty so no real atmosphere. However it is a nice place. Mojacar was as expected out of season, still plenty to do with about 40% of places open and this hotel is ideally placed to potter about

Issues with original room allocation

The room we were initially allocated, a garden room, had work being carried out on its patio. The staff seemed surprised when we refused this room. The only room away from the maintenance works was a junior suite. We were happy to accept this but somewhat surprised when we were told we would be charged for the room upgrade. Had little choice but to accept this but did spoil our overall experience.

TWINNING EVENT

This Hotel was used by Beccles Lions Club UK for a base for a week whilst we (10 of us) Twinned with Vera Lions Club Spain. The Parador met all our needs and as a group and would recommend it. Lion Chris Lambert Vice President.
