Room was really dirty. Stains on carpet, stains on furniture, stains on ceiling blinds etc

Check in details were sent with unclickable links which made checking in process tortured and very painful. I wasn't able to copy across the links either using the Hotels.com mobile app, so I had to use a laptop instead. Wifi information provided via app was also not correct - managed to find correct information on back of door.

Room very cold - heating solution was very basic and ineffective

The location of this room was very close to all means of transportation, bus and metro station. Restaurants were nearby along with a grocery store. Access to staff requires calling them so getting international access is a must.

Nice room and two nights cost me £88 , the only fault was the external front door didn't open and I tried for 45 mins , asked passers-by to try then thankfully the next door neighbour tried and it explicably worked! The second night I came back from my first day at Islington Council and the external/front door was open and remained so all night , luckily my bedroom door locked fine

The property in and of itself needs quite a bit of proper remedial repairs and attention to get it to where it should be. That said everything worked the place was clean and as advertised access was easy and the property manager interaction very good.

Great location, easy to find. Clean, warm, cozy room. No staff present but easy enough to work the entry system in place apart from a bit of a struggle with the front door at one point. I think there is only one toilet/shower that I saw unless there are rooms that have enduites-mine didn’t but I didnt have to wait to use it. Generally a good place to be if you want a bolt hole to visit London or go to a gig nearby.

I stayed in room 4 with private bathroom. Location is great - just off Upper Street with lots of local restaurants and bars. The accommodation itself is good value for the location (assuming you get a decent rate), though basic in decor / amenities. Overall is value for money and would stay again.

I think the first thing to say is that I paid £87 for 1 night which is incredibly cheap for the London and the area. We were going to a wedding from 4pm and would not be using the room/ hotel much.

The shared bathroom could do with a good scrub and the loo roll holder was not properly attached to the wall. The soap dispenser tube does not reach down to the soap.

The carpet in the room could do with a clean and the room smells somewhat musty.

However it has a charming balcony.

My feeling is that the place needs a bit of TLC applied to it, and a bit of effort to make it nicer.

I didn’t use the kitchen but you could cook a proper meal there if you wanted to.

I go back to what I said though which is at just over £80 it is fantastic value. We would stay there again if it was a trip where we were mainly out. It is an incredible location.

The staff were helpful and accommodating after a bit of back and forth. I think it is always more difficult when they need set procedures in place given that there does not appear to be staff on site regularly.

It was good value for money given the low cost.

Very good and clean

The flat is tiny and very cleaned, it has everything you need for a couple of days including coffee, tea and sugar.
All the appliances are well maintained and they match perfectly the flat’s vibes.
The only problem is for the toilet, it wasn’t flushing properly and paper wasn’t going down. A little tip: i think it would be great to have a light above the mirror in the bath.

Please save your self from great distress and don’t stay here. We got locked out of our room at 1am due to our key code no longer working and there is no one to contact so we had nowhere to sleep or no way to access any of our belongings or vital medication

Great stay!

It was a good stay unfortunately was a few small problems like one of the other residents was a bit noisey and there was a couple bits missed to clean but other wise the room was comfy and its in a good area and affordable, i would actuality recomend as the doors are locked with codes so if your alone its pretty secure!

Put off by the fact the electricity went off twice during our 2 night booking, both times required access to our room for sorting.
Tried messaging regarding this and got no response.
The main door keypad is sensitive too, not ideal when you can't get in returning late at night.
Internal doors are squeaky so when you're next to the bathroom you hear everyone going in and out, many often slam doors too.
Expensive for the type of stay.

The check in process was online and included seending photo-id and a security deposit - despite it being booked through Expedia and being a long time user of this site. And despite Expedia policy stating not to give payment details to the property.
However, without which I would have had to find somewhere else at short notice.
The lock mechanism on the front door was temperamental and didnt comply with the instructions until I tried lifting the handle rather than depressing it.
I couldnt find the room once Id entered and had to walk through the kitchen, a laundry store and across a yard to find it.
The best thing I coud say about the property is that it is reasonably cheap and was conveninet for where I was visiting.
A good attempt at cleaning a tired and taudry room. Otherwise dreadful.

Very convenient location, comfortable and quiet. My only issue was two other guests deciding to partake in, how can I put it in polite terms, extremely intimate activities in the shared living room!!
Not the fault of the property I know so it wouldn't put me off staying here again :)

Verv rooms Islington was a perfect stay for us being at an event at New Meta bar just down the road. Located near many different restaurants and cafes making life very easy. I have given 4 stars as I wasn't told until the day of arrival that I needed to give a £200 deposit, other than that though the place was clean, tidy and well organised, would stay again.

For the price and location this guest house was very good. It was a shared bathroom and the bedroom was clean but shabby in some parts.

If you’re going in expecting the ritz you’ll be disappointed but I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the room was. Perfect for my needs

Check in process was substandard and very stressful - I had to repeatedly submit the same paperwork and chase up apartment access details, which was not provided until the very last minute. Video links for how to access the apartment didn’t work and email contact details for submitting passport info were blank. I was so fed up that I contacted Expedia for refund. The amount of time spent responding to emails and dealing with their processes for a one night stay was ridiculous. No sooner did I check in that emails started arriving asking about my check out time, which I ignored. On a more positive note, apartment in excellent location and of a good size with tasteful furnishings.

Let me first say, unfortunately this was the most disappointing stay that I have had for many years. Whilst the accommodation is fabulously located, the quality of the residence and the customer experience has been extremely disappointing.

First of all, the system of providing check in details and PIN is flawed. It took me several hours to get a response and finally get my check-in details. I see from other reviews, some other people have had similar issues.

Next, it is not clear (perhaps I needed to look more deeply) that this room is only served by shared bathroom facilities. This is not obvious from your Hotels.com description, and quite honestly in this day and age is not acceptable. Again, I see from other reviews, people also suffered from not being aware from your listing.

The room is comfortable. However, the carpet is disgustingly dirty, they need to change it, the whole room is grubby. The other problem is the window above the bedroom door. How do they expect somebody to get a decent nights sleep when the light on the landing is being continually switched on and off.

I have been asked for feedback, so I am being 100% honest. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this property and i certainly wouldnt return.

I had just gotten in from an international flight. The property is very close to a lot of nice restaurants and shops. I stayed there for a concert at the O2 and it was very convenient. The walls are thin though and I’m a light sleeper. Staff was friendly and allowed me to check in early for a much needed nap. Everything read clean and the shower has good hot water.

One night only !

The lady manning the booking hotline was extremely helpful,allowing me to enter the room earlier than check in at 4pm .I wish these hotels would specify check in times prior to booking! The room was nice but I would NEVER book a room with shared facilities again ! Having to get dressed to use the facilities made me feel very much like I was a stranger in someone’s house ! Very awkward!!

Well it was very different to what I thought and unless I missed it, we had a communal bathroom, shower and toilet which I did not expect. It was clean but I wouldn’t stay as a couple. Parking is a nightmare and I got a ticket even though I moved my car twice but you only have 1 hour parking during the day mon-Saturday

The place is clean and has big hall and kitchen. But it is very noisy area. You can hear everything happening on the streets . You can hear people talking on the street from the room. Also it is common bathroom for all 4 rooms. Expedia never listed like this.

Also if the person in the other talks little louder you can hear. I would not recommend this for families or couples who are looking for safety

Unique: Great difficulty in entering the property- apparently an e-mail was sent to us on the morning of our departure from our HOME - after we had left. We do not have access to e-mail other than at OUR home. When booking this was not made clear! Luckily a neighbour in STUDD Road came to our rescue. She was very helpful and contacted the ?owner/person in charge whosoever.Even if we had seen the e-mail with the entry details/codes etc it would have been difficult to enter due to the sensitivity of the apparatus on the door.-----NOW aside from that little matter we had an enjoyable stay- we were able to laugh about it afterwards. The property itself is indeed 'UNIQUE'- so we would probably stay there again if visiting the area.

Could have been nice, but wasn't.

It was quite difficult to spot the entrance as it is just a normal door on the street, no indication that this is the apartment entrance. A sign would be helpful. Code didn't work on arrival, which was quite annoying. As it took 2 phone calls and about 10 minutes stood in the rain, before I could get in. Only electronic locks, no physical deadlock on the room door, therefore not great for solo travellers as doesn't feel 100% secure. No hot water in the shower in the morning, messed around for ages, got hot water out the bathroom sink, but the shower was still cold. Really not good for how much this cost.
