Kings Cross Inn is located near major rail stations, making it a convenient choice. The area often attracts many travelers, which can lead to noise. The Inn itself is a straightforward Red Roof Inn equivalent in the USA. It’s a place to sleep and then proceed with your daily plans. Enjoy turn-down service every morning with fresh towels daily and excellent water pressure for a comfortable stay.

Stayed here a few times before. However this time with my really poorly husband. The receptionist gave us a ‘ground’ floor room which was down 4/5 steps. Really, we shouldn’t have taken it because the bed was really small and against the wall; a challenge for someone with mobility issues. But, I booked this hotel purely for location; across the road from both Kings Cross & St Pancras so locations perfect. And it’s clean and not noisy despite being right opp KC.

Across the street from Kings Cross Station. Reasonably clean. Very small rooms. Maintenance needs improvement. If you need to be near the rail station for an early morning departure you may want to book this hotel. Not recommended for an extended stay. Any rating of more than 3 out of five should be questioned.

The room was very clean, very comfortable beds, room was cleaned every day while we went out and everything used was restocked. Staff were very lovely, especially the receptionists. Check in was nice and fast and the checkout was even faster. Good check in and out times too. The hotel is right across the road from King's Cross Station, and although the noise outside was never ending, you couldn't hear anything from instead the hotel, especially our room. Was very good having the station so close, as it meant getting the tube every day, very fast and easy to do, and the second full day, we managed to go into Camden and then came back for a breather and a cup of tea and went back out again into main London for more shopping. Close to a Morrisons daily too, and since the room had a fridge, we were able to get some milk and bring food back (like pasties or sandwiches from too good to go) and store it in the rooms fridge.

Will DEFINITELY go to that hotel again when we go back to London. For the price it costs, I have absolutely no complaints.

We stayed in a family room and only stayed because of the proximity to Kings Cross station. Typical London style, run of the mill tired hotel. We stayed in a family room. Windows sealed tight, air con useless, curtains (more like drapes) from the 60s. But we beds were clean and we had a decent sleep.

Very old and outdated hotel/rooms not sure why they ask for a deposit as the beds are very simple (old hospital metal beds with no headboard) and in dire need of repair, highly uncomfortable and not stable. Damaged walls and very dusty room. Opposite St Pancras station so lots of food places within walking distance.
Not impressed as the price was definitely not worth the stay. Highly noisy throughout the night and not at all a peaceful experience. I vacated as early as I could it was disappointing.

The rooms both smelt like faeces from the drains in the bathroom. It was horrible.

Didn’t get any sleep at all because people in the hotel are very loud. The people above us were stamping around all night and shouting all night.

Room security - good, neither I or the staff could open the room door on arrival. Took some time to resolve, but we got there in the end. Plus side, if you can't easily access with a room card, it's pretty secure against would be thieves.

Heating/air-conditioning - Room had it, and it looked like a fairly new system, but when I put it on to head the room, it absolutely stank and left a bad taste in my throat, so had to go without.

Bathroom - shower was good, clean & powerful, but rest of the bathroom looked a bit grubby. Rust around mirrored cabinet, mold on the ceiling tiles, bad fittings (shaving light wonky etc).

Fridge/tea & coffee making - fine for what's needed.

Bed - awful, ordered a double bed but couldn't sleep on it as the springs had gone. Giant dip in the bed. Told the front desk, they advised me to use the single bed in the room instead (which I had to do). Also, both beds are camp beds, so felt rickety and make noise with each movement.

Sound proofing of room - zero, and my corridor had laminated floor, so added to noise. I packed ear plugs and used them, but was still disturbed by people banging doors, walking past and talking.

Deposit - you have to pay a £100 damage deposit on arrival. Caught a few people out who were checking in before me. Made me think of the inbetweeners movie when there's a hotel fine for pooing on the floor...

You get what you pay for.
But location is good.

where do I start , positive close to Kings Cross Station so area is good, sheets were clean and bathroom had mini shampoo and toilet roll. Shower OK.
Staff argumenttaive when asked question regarding taking an added deposit of £100 in case I smoke drugs in the room as thats what happens ! took copy of my ID agianst GDPR ,, windows broken with more draft than a wind tunnel, noise due to location is not conducive to sleep form traffic noise, a few repars would solve this.
Toilet broken , No milk n the rooms but kettle and coffee provided .
Will not return far better at lower pricing, Arrogant rude staff , no thanks , as business traveller Im not going to smoke drugs in the room.

Room G04. If you enjoy the sound of the underground (not the song)then this room is for you. Unable to open the window. Probably a safety feature as people walked past. Room was warm but the Aircon was extremely noisy.In the bathroom you have the sound of everybodies waste from above rushing down the soil pipe. Shower was good and hot. Laminate floor was delaminated. The bed was extremely soft and every movement got us rolling together. I suppose for the price it was adequate and very handy for Kings Cross and St Pancras.

Turned up 30 mins before check in time but room not ready.
When we eventually got in it looked and smelled clean. Full window with view onto the street and anyone passing could also see in. Toilet seat too small and also broken. Clothes rail too high, so could not be used. Noisy on a night. Breakfast at nearby alleged Italian. Altonapoli, don't bother. Cups in room like those from a dolls set. Excellent location though

Besides the property being dated and in need of renovation, our TV would not turn off and there was a terrible sewer smell in the room. I asked to have it fixed many times. It would go away for awhile and then come back overnight. They said they did not have another room for us to move to.

The hotel was in a great location, just across from King's Cross Station.
The bedding and bedroom area was really clean, however the ensuite was dated with botched repairs and smelled of drains.
The air con unit outside our bedroom window was noisy and kept waking us up. I mentioned it to reception staff and I just got \"oh\".
Overall i don't think we'd stay here again.

One issue with the electrics in this room (only one socket worked and the breaker blew when trying to use the kettle or other sockets). Staff dealt with it efficiently and kindly (offered another room but I declined as only there one more night).

Perfect location for the train station and a very early train ride. We didn’t notice any noise from the trains in our room. I wasn’t happy that the “luggage room” isn’t locked or guarded by the front desk, so it’s available for anyone to access at anytime. I ended up having to pay 35 pounds to have early access to my room just to keep my luggage “safe.” Their staff said they can’t guarantee any luggage placed in their luggage room, and it’s at the owner’s risk. That was a major disappointment!!!

We had a family room which was below ground and appeared to immediately next to the Tube station and could hear trains on a regular basis.

The ceiling had minor flooding in the morning when the unit above us took a shower.

Aside from that the location was perfect for a morning train and check in was simple.

The good first... If you need a hotel that's reasonably priced for London opposite Kings Cross / St Pancras, with family rooms, this is ideal.

Rooms clean, beds comfortable, didn't stay late enough for breakfast.

However, the underground trains rumbling is every few minutes (not hotel's fault, just take earplugs) and general London noise etc means it's a place to sleep but not to rest. The shower pressure was good however!

You get what you pay for! Cheap \"hotel\", cheap rooms.
I should have walked out when the customer before me wanted to make their deposit in cash.
The checkin person was fine, though not personable. The next sign to leave was the fact I had to manually fill in a paper form about myself for the stay, although they should have had my booking details already.

My room smelled damp. I certainly left the hotel worrying I smelled damp. I didn't have anything to cover the odour.

The bed was fine but the mattress was certainly placed on very cheap metal frames.

All the tiles in my room were pealing. Showing signs of a flood at some point.
Paint was pealing in the bathroom ceilings.
Being on the lower ground floor, my bathroom did not smell nice.

I ended up renting an office to work for the day. The wifi was too slow and there was no privacy.

I did read reviews about the noise from the area. I can accept street noise but I had street noise, noise from my neighbours and noise from general hotel traffic in the halls. My room had to doors to enter but I still heard noise from the halls.

I should have just left the first night and sucked up the room costs I paid.

If you can't afford a reasonable hotel and need a place to lay your head for a few hours, this hotel can be a last resort. Though if you can squeeze the extra money, find another hotel.

Lesson learned the hard way!

The room was fine, although the bathroom had a stuffy smell and it was not possible to switch the light off. It was noisier than I was expecting, but not unbearable. I also realise that I may just not have been expecting the noise level.

I had a really great stay here! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and my room was clean and pretty big for what I expected in London. It's in a super convenient location near the underground and a lot of restaurants. I came down from Euston and it was a very quick walk from the station to check in.

This hotel doesn't have the most amenities, but personally I don't mind as I wanted to spend my time exploring London anyway. Great value, I would stay here again!

I am actively seeking refund/investigation with Expedia and my credit card company. I stayed in hostels in my 20’s and cots in makeshift medical clinics. This was by far the dirtiest place I have seen. Hair, blood stains, bugs in the sheets. There was a slime/filth clump that was shaped like a dead baby bird next to the toilet. The smell of chemical disinfectant hurt my lungs. It looked, smelled and felt like the kind of place where people pay by the hour. The curtains had weird chunks cut out and missing. I lasted an hour, while on the phone and checking for alternate accommodations. Absolutely foul.

The person at the reception named Omar (I think that was his name). He was very nice and friendly. He upgraded my room and I was very thankful for that.

However, there was a very strong smell in the toilet. When I complaint, I believe the woman was a manager, she said she has checked and there was no smell and sort of made it out as if I was wrong. Following my complaint they had put so much bleach in the bathroom that it was difficult to breath in the room afterwards.

I won’t recommend this hotel.
