I was given an “accessible room” and told this was an upgrade. While I understand these rooms can be slightly larger, it significantly impacted the overall aesthetic, especially as this was booked for Valentine’s Day. The room featured prominent accessibility fixtures, including a large red emergency strobe light on the wall, which wasn’t what we were expecting and took away from the atmosphere and charm of the stay.

I think reception staff should clearly explain when an “upgrade” means an accessible room, so guests can make an informed choice rather than being surprised on arrival.

Staff member was very personable at check-in. Very strange the hotel has a policy of asking guests to pay a £12 plus service charge (not to be confused with the city tax). Room was clean but very basic - one office chair, no comfortable seating. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom small, had to get into the bath to reach the taps when I wanted a bath. Maybe going through Hotels.com was why we had such a basic room with a wall by the bed which appeared to be dedicated to the air-conditioning units on the floor

Terrible check in - the receptionist was borderline rude; didn’t interact with us at all, made the check in feel like we were a chore.
Room was ok, except when we discovered we had no hot water in the hand basin. We reported it, and were assured it would be mended. Three days later, on check out, still waiting!

Bar staff however were very friendly.
Breakfast was incorrect both mornings, none of our orders arrived ok? How hard should it be to get the orders of 4 eggs or omelettes correct?
Could not recommend, which is sad, and would recommend that anyone avoids it. Even more sad, for such a beautiful hotel building, we will never return.

Maintenance engineer said hot water is a problem if low occupancy of rooms occurs. No lighting in lobby area of mini suite for application of make up. Very noisy, lots of late night disturbances.

It was a good relaxing trip. The highlight, as always is the staff, who are friendly, efficient and accomodating. The pool is always a standout glory as well. It is the cleanest pool in London with sexy dark lighting that makes it so relaxing. The hotel is an event in itself, lots of spectacle and free things to enjoy at different specific historic times. I loved the punch ceremony especially. Breakfast was particularly lovely and well organised. I definitely enjoyed my time here though wish I had booked a higher grade room for even more luxury...that said the fainting couch in my room made it perfect.

Beautiful building, excellent service with extremely helpful and polite staff. Alex was especially helpful in the bar and restaurant area, ensuring we had a memorable experience with our friend from the USA.
The modern bedrooms are underwhelming, but spacious and well equipped.
It's expensive, but as a one night stay, it's a real treat if you find yourself traveling through London.

Beautiful hotel let down be mediocre room, supposed to be premiere room - not! Dingy bathroom in need of refurb, empty shower gel, 2 tissues fluffed up to mask an empty box. What looked like wardrobe doors was an open maintenence cupboard. Paid just under £450 for room only, no breakfast, had better facilities in a Radisson for £130. Had stayed here previously and had a fabulous room for same price including breakfast, so I was disappointed. On the plus side staff are lovely

Beautiful building from the exterior but inside tells a different story. The staff were smiley but surly! The entrance reception area reminded me of a large Starbucks not a 5 star hotel. The corridor where our room was had artwork of ghosts and pictures of butlers and characters that could have been from Downton Abbey - very strange. The exterior terrace area was closed due to the weather (which was 21 degrees). We requested more tea bags for the room which never came and had to remind them at 2pm our room hadn’t been cleaned. There’s better places to stay for your money.

We loved the convenience of the location. We traveled from Paris on Eurostar and it was wonderful to be able to roll our luggage directly into the hotel and freshen up without having to call a car for transport.

The service was excellent. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Our only complaint would be the smell in the corridor leading to Barlow House. The strong stench from the bathroom in the hallway was intolerable and disgusting. It was reminiscent of the horrible odor in the bathroom trenches found in China. Since our room was located in Barlow House, we had to walk down that corridor to get to the elevator to get to our room. We dreaded that walk, and the fact that the odor also gets trapped in the elevator on the ride. It negated our otherwise positive experience and left us with a bad impression of our stay. Please correct this odor issue for the benefit of all.

We changed our room for one that was acceptable- but at this price not reasonable. The first room was pitch dark, internal - no outside window, looked into stacked chairs and other furniture. We were told this room was a grade above what we had booked. We had paid for an upgrade already - so if this is 2 rooms above basic we’re astounded. We stayed here years ago and it was a luxury. I booked for my husband’s birthday this year - it really wasn’t worth the money. The spa facilities are nice - but we were told we couldn’t use them in the morning as lifeguard training was taking place. Not acceptable when you pay £320 for one single night - you can’t check in until 3 and need to be out by 11 - so in fact 20 hours. When we wanted to check out we waited too long - we asked until the 4th member of staff would help. The others told us to wait as they checked guests in (remember you can’t check in until 3 … this was just after 11…) I wouldn’t recommend - absolutely not 5* - had a more luxurious stay recently in the 3* Copthorne in Kensington for half the price.

The rooms are very dated and smell awful. The mattress smell all kinds of bodily odors to the point we had to move out. Definitely not worth the money. The main corridor smells worst kitchen smells. I don’t know how people not say anything about it. It is also hard to reach the front desk. I called 8 times whith no luck. Someone picks up and hangs up. I left one if my things at a hotel and can't reach tjem to retrieve it.

I stayed here in early May and am still dealing with unresolved issues in July.

The hotel charged both me and the third-party platform for my stay, and it took multiple follow-ups before they realised their mistake. Every time I pointed out an error, their first response was to deny it rather than investigate. When I requested a receipt, it took three separate attempts before I received the correct one – only after calling and confirming every line item.

They also charged me an additional accommodation fee, which they again initially denied before finally agreeing to refund. Throughout this entire process, the hotel made numerous operational errors and never provided any proactive updates, despite repeatedly promising to do so.

They offered Bonvoy points as a goodwill gesture but, even weeks after confirming my refund, I have yet to receive them.

For a five-star hotel, the lack of professionalism, communication, and accountability was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend staying here if you expect reliable service and efficient issue resolution.

The St. Pancras Hotel looks very impressive on the outside and is of course a major London landmark. The inside, however, needs some upgrading. The hotel lobby looks very grand, but skimps on customer service: there is no porter outside to help with luggage. The concierge desks have large, prominent space in the front of the lobby but never seem to be staffed. The check-in stations are relegated to the side of the lobby, along with couches crammed into a narrow alley to make space for the bar and drinks area in the middle of the lobby, forcing guests to queue up in the narrow space afforded them while dodging waiters and other guests going by. The hotel room is clean and spacious, but looks like a throw back to a 1990s room with old carpet that smells strongly of cleaning products, furniture whose laminate is peeling off in large chunks, a bathroom door that's on a spring that won't stay open, no ventilation in the bathroom, and very old fashioned bathtub/shower combo that has one of those glass half doors that never do much to shield water splash but make getting in and out of the steep bathtub difficult. The window overlooking the Eurostar platform in the St Pancras station is sort of cool, but is quite dirty and the constant noise from the station makes going to sleep a bit difficult. All of this for over $500 a night does not really live up to Marriott's usual standards. Staff are very friendly, which is a bright spot of an otherwise forgettable stay.

We had a lovely stay at the Renaissance St. Pancras for the final night of our two week visit to London and Paris. Within a few minutes of stepping off of our Eurostar train from Paris we were kindly welcomed to the check in desk and presented with cocktails. The amazing Laura answered all of our questions and gave us advice on getting to the airport the next day. She even escorted us down the hall to the elevators to show us the way to our room. It was incredible. We got to the pool only 20 minutes before kids time ended, but they allowed my daughter some extra time. Both meals we had were delicious and the restaurant greeter made us feel so welcomed and wanted to make sure my daughter was happy. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this hotel. We look forward to returning.

Arrived to check in - waited 10 mins or so. Room wasn’t ready, which is fine, but when I came back, had to wait another 10 mins and then reception weren’t sure if my bag was with them or taken up to my room.

It wasn’t in my room so had to ring down (twice) to chase it as I was in a rush, so another 20 mins before I could even change.

Also, the rooms have no iron, just a hand-held steamer which really didn’t cut the mustard so felt vaguely scruffy as I went out for the evening.

Hotel is magnificent, in a convenient location, and I’m sure the issues I experienced were one-offs but when paying over £400 for a room, expect better.

We booked the hotel as a treat for the family. For a 5 star hotel, the rooms were really no better than a premier inn. Extremely boring, functional and a little tired. A real let down sadly. The building is obviously iconic and the communal areas are beautiful but no attention has been paid at all to the hotel bedrooms that are no different to a very average corporate hotel.

I love the architecture of the hotel but I have to say the upkeep of the rooms wasn’t very good noise from the streets. Curtains were torn and dirty are difficult to close at night. The shower flooded every time you used it again. The architectural of the building is wonderful, but the art cape is poor.

This is the famous Spice Girls hotel where they danced on the stairs in their music video. We stayed here for the night just to have the experience on our 1st trip to London. The outside and inside of hotel are both beautiful. Around the corner was our tour bus and train station, so conviently located.

It’s a beautiful building with some stunning features but I honestly can’t say anything good about the service. There was a mixup on checkin that caused our room not to be ready until 4:30; the waiters and bartenders in the bar were rude and inattentive and most of the doormen didn’t seem to know what they were doing. Very disappointing stay. We did have one very kind person who checked us out; we appreciated that. We loved our room in the old part of the building with its view of the train station and high ceilings but one of the tv’s didn’t work and the finishes need a refresh.

Staff is bad. They have zero training how to represent a 5 star hotel. From the security outside demanding I park my car as far as it could be from the hotel enterance (btw no ballet either) to the guy on the front desk telling cutting me off while I’m asking him for direction telling me to wait here (while not even serving anyone else, just staring at his computer)

Great hotel, breakfast was tasty and the restaurant staff so friendly.
We got totally messed around during check in, where a delay changed from a room upgrade to a downgrade, but hey, after that, the stay was fine.
