Friendly staff, great room amenities. If you prefer some privacy from your bathroom you may want to stay elsewhere as the glass box although opaque didn't feel super private but this was clear to us before booking. Nice decor and space in room. Excellent for access to king's cross and good buffet breakfast.

My stay was ok. The room is small but cleverly designed to offer the usual amenities. Great shower pressure and complimentary snacks in the room. Location was great and easy to catch my trip for onward travel.

I found it to be very noisy - between construction and all the movements of staff and guests you really don’t get much quiet time. Also found the mattress to be too soft and springy.

It not in a safe area. We saw a fight at the basketball court within steps of the property. There was a drainage issue in the shower and flooded into the entry way and we received no assistance. You could not lock the door to the gazebo room that had shared access. The hotel did not respond to my concerns in two separate emails.

A small boutique hotel on a quiet street walkable and near St Pancras so perfect for what we needed.
We upgraded to a large king bed room (twice the size through Expedia) from a Gyle double bed room but when we checked in we were put in a Feature double with balcony instead. The bed was tiny and even though I went to explain it wasn’t a large king bed and room they said I had a balcony and uk beds are larger than a normal double. I decided not to ruin our two night stay away and left it.
We’ve stayed here before and I would stay again but be aware if upgrading as I didn’t get the room I wanted upgrading to.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Pancras International. If you have any mobility issues this hotel is NOT for you. Starting with the 2 tall steps to enter the hotel you must navigate narrow winding stairs to the rooms. There is no lift. The room was decorated beautifully but the toilet and shower were in a glass “cage”. Drainage for the shower left a lot to be desired and lighting in the sink area was very dim.

Ideal location, close to King's Cross Rail Station. This is an older building (typical for the hotels in this neighborhood), in which the interior has been completely renovated. Stylish (almost edgy) decor, with a nice lobby/restaurant space on the ground floor.

The rooms are on the smallish side, though probably typical for this part of London. Two things to be aware of: 1) There are three floors above the ground floor, but the building has no lift and the staircase is a little tight. That said, the staff will bring your luggage up to your room, if you don't want to lug it yourself. 2) The toilet and shower enclosure is all obscured glass. No opaque walls. The pattern on the glass is very effective at obscuring the \"view\", but my girlfriend was not real comfortable; feeling somewhat exposed and concerned about \"bathroom noises\". But having said that, the bathroom was spotlessly clean and the shower was very good. Overall, we were quite happy with the hotel at that price point, and would definitely stay there again if we wanted to be in that part of London.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night and chose it for proximity to Kings Cross (plus airconditioning). Just about 2 blocks away from the station. The hotel is clean, comfortable and has modern decor. The only caveat is that there is no lift. However the nice receptionist said that she could upgrade us to a small suite on the ground level. In any event someone would help us bring the luggage to our room.
Included breakfast was good although it took a while for us to find all the food, some of which was \"hidden\" in refrigerated shelves in a different part of the bar. All in all I would recommend this hotel.

I love staying at The Gyle, this was my second time here. I came back because the staff were so amazing. The hotel is small and quirky and different. The only two things that were disappointing this time were that their big coffee/espresso machine was broken so they didn't have decent coffee for breakfast. Second was that our room was in the lower level, below the reception/dining area, so our room was noisy with footsteps and rolling suitcases etc. through our ceiling at various times through the day and night.

1. We were shown to a room in the basement - despite the fact there was no mention of this on the webiste while booking. When we said we will walk out and find another hotel, we were given the option to be in an apartment few doors down that the hotel also owns. While the apartment was more spacious and convenient, it directly faced a construction site right across. 2. Three times in five days that we stayed there, we had to pass by homeless people standing in front of the door and blocking entry. One of them defecated in front of the bulding entrance. 3. Area feels unsafe after dark. 4. In five days, the apartment was never cleaned, though someone came in every day to remove garbage. We figured why when we noticed cockroach traps outside the apartment door. 5. Unhelpful, unfriendly staff - didn't want to let us check in early (we flew from North America and got to hotel around 9 am) - the apartment had been emptry but we were made to wait until 2 pm. When asked about late checkout, we were told it will be charged on an hourly rate. 6. The bed had a thick plastic mattress cover and a thin sheet on top making it very difficult to sleep.

Upon arrival, we waited for the person in front of us to be dealt with. When the lady left the man behind the counter just stared at us - no hello, no how can I help you, no smile, no thanks for waiting - it was so odd. I said can we check in please, he then checked us in almost silently and sent us down to our room. There was no offer to help with our bags down the stairs... in a four star hotel with no lift. When you check someone into a room, you pretty much have one job - to get them a key to their room no?? 2 mins after checking in and heaving our cases down the stairs, the room key didn't work, we walked back up reception and the same reception guy silently reactivate the key. The room was lovely with great decor but you could hear everything going on around the hotel (e.g. people walking up and down the stairs). Our bathroom was gorgeous and dramatic with an arched ceiling, however there was no separate shower and the bath drained exceptionally slowly meaning when my sister took a shower after me she was standing in 4 inches of my shower water! Lastly, after breakfast we went to our room to finish packing - on our way out some 25 mins later our dirty breakfast dishes were still on the table we used. All in all, style over substance - I feel they are relying on their location (super for Eurostar) and stylish photos (it does look attractive) and not interested in repeated custom.

The only thing to note is that the staff were not really that friendly. They didn’t ’read the room’ and try to help. They spent most of their time on their phones and gossiping. I spent a lot of time in the communal area and heard a lot of conversations where they essentially complained about working there. Not great.

I had the room with the balcony. Staffs were friendly. However, there was no elevator to our second floor room. There were construction outside and Uber/taxi could not drive directly to the hotel. We had to walk a block to our uber/taxi. The bed was smaller than advertised. The bed was more like a full, not a queen.

Don't stay at room 7!

When I arrived I had been \"upgraded\" to a better room.
The catch is that this room was a lower floor room (below ground floor) and it was facing the street with a storage just in front of it. There were men (not form the hotel) loading vans at 3am on that storage.
The room had single glass windows that are old, without any isolation for cold or noise. IKt was like if people were inside my room at 3am, walking over metal stairs and carrying heavy things form teh storage.

Lovely stay at the Gyle

The Gyle was a perfect location, steps away from King’s Cross and Euston stations. I stayed on the 3rd level. Quite steep steps to carry up luggage. The room itself was very small, though OK for me as I was traveling solo. The compact space was used well. Keep in mind this hotel is located in a townhouse so the walls can be quite thin. Enjoyed the breakfast included. Enjoyed that the bar was open 24 hours! Staff was pleasant. Would stay again the next time I’m in London.

Lovely if you don’t mind a few inconveniences

Reception staff very friendly and polite. Room was lovely and clean. The vaulted bathroom room was very nice however the issue was that the rooms were downstairs in the basement more specifically underneath the entrance of the hotel and therefore lots of noise, people coming in and out of the hotel and people talking etc. These rooms should not be so highly priced due to this inconvenience, although I did see a pair of earbud I don’t think this is a sufficient compensation for such disturbances. No phone in the room so you have to go to reception if you have any issues, the bathroom lacked hooks or towel rails to hang used towels and robes, there was no bin in the room only in the bathroom which is inconvenient. Overall this was a nice hotel and the vaulted bathroom was nice but a little cold. One more thing the TV has screen mirror option but I was not able to utilise this as it didn’t appear to be working.

We selected this property because of its proximity to the St Pancras rail station and the location was great. Friendly helpful staff and the room and other facilities were very clean!
Please note that this hotel has NO lift/elevator and, if you have heavy or oversized luggage, it will be a REAL challenge to get your stuff up the narrow wooden steps!
One other challenge is figuring out the light/power switches. The master switch was on the wall next to the door and we could never get the all the lights to go out without shutting off the master switch. The hotel employee was unable to explain how the system works.

The hotel has a depressing feel about it. It is dark and cramped.
When I was checking in there was heavy cigarette smoke inside. There were always cleaning stuff, packed laundry all around, coming in and going out. It is nice to know that there is an effort to clean but they should not be in the way as the spaces are already so tight inside.
Of the three receptionists- first one was super cool and welcoming; the second was an ice cold lady; the third one just doing his job.
Would not want to stay again:(

Really excellent location and beautifully clean and well designed hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely design details and cool relaxing bar area. Room was perfect and bed super comfortable. Third floor location of our room meant a few flights of stairs but worth the effort.
