Excellent accommodations, location, and staff. Ezsther gave us recommendations for a nearby restaurant, night life with train directions, and a post it note with food and drinks to try. The entire staff seemed eager to show off their city and culture. Very helpful! The hotel is super close to a metro station, a 25-minute walk from Buda Castle, and a 12-minute walk from Fisherman’s Bastion. Breakfast was great too!

I'm disappointed because they have nothing in the rooms, when I say nothing I refer to: no coffee maker, no kettle, no coffee, no sugar, nothing at all. If you want something to heat water with you have to pay, they facilitate the minimum in the room, on top of that the staff were kind of rude, I don't know if it's cultural but they were very short, over all I will never stay there again.

I enjoyed our stay, it was a convenient location, within walking distance from most things and easy access to public transportation. Breakfast was tasty as well.

My only challenge was a warm blowing A/C, my stay was short so there was limited time to maintenance follow through with addressing it. But it did make my nights difficult.

Overall, I did enjoy my stay and I would recommend.

Staff was too confused, from check-in, breakfast, and check-out. They seemed to be unprepared and always looking for another staff member to help them with normal day to day issues.
Im used to stay at Ibis hotels but this time the experience wasn't the same.

I really enjoyed that this was a short walk to the metro station to get us to downtown Budapest. The buffet was the best buffet I've had during this trip through many countries, and had a wide variety of options. The staff was very gracious. The room was comfortable, and I would definitely stay there again. One thing to keep in mind is the temperature gauge is either set to heat or cool based on the time of year so we wound up switching the heat off and opening up the window just to get the room a little colder because we didn't know that and we had the cold set to high but it was actually the heat set to high.

Had a good stay. Location is near the railway station/underground/tram stop and on a main road, so there is some noise, but it is very convenient. Also, 15 minutes walk to the castle. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable and bathroom clean and modern. Buffet breakfast was very good.

When I entered my room, it stunk so bad. It had this weird smell of dirty wet clothes and shoes. I tried opening the window and putting the air conditioner on but the smell still lingered.
Other parts of the hotel were nice and the breakfast was great. Lots of options to choose from but it will cost you an extra fee.
My room was fantastic, overlooking the city which I requested.

Super clean newer hotel. The ac doesn’t work they said that they are in the their heater season still even though it was 80 F outside, which is fine but there were no fans and they said I could sign a paper saying they would open the window all the way but it was so noises with the metro below us. That was a huge disappointment, also no fridge or coffee in room.
After our second day I thought about moving hotels, after researching there were excellent hotels available for cheaper than the ibis. Just fyi maybe wait and book last minute for a higher rated hotel for less than this one. I did not move hotels because my kids didn’t want to pack up and didn’t mind the noise and heat, I did. So just know there are better options if you aren’t familiar with Budapest.

I spent 2 nights at this hotel. The metro station (Deli Palyaudvar) is on the left side of the hotel 300m. You can buy bottle water from the station. The right side of the hotel, about 400m, is SPAR supermarket and bus stop. The location is quiet at Buda side. One bus stop to Clark Adam Ter where you can buy cable car ticket to the castle and Castle bus pick up & drop off point is there too. The room is very simple. Just have TV, hair dryer, toilet paper and body wash. So, bring your own kettle & slipper. The paint in the room is peeling off. The breakfast is above my expection. They provide basic American breakfast, oats, salad fruits, different kind of breads, juices. Coffee is very nice. Hotel lobby and lounge areas are presentable and look better than the room. As compare to the price of the room, I would say it is acceptable.

It is a 3 star hotel, but what make the difference is there above and beyond customer service by there front office staff. I had concern regarding my room been on lower floor but, supervisor Mr. Kiollar Tamas took care of the situation immediately and we were got a room to a higher floor. This place is at the walking distance from all tourist attractions.

It's an interesting looking hotel indoors, many pictures, that interesting car, etc.

The cleanliness in my room? The carpet next to my bed had small pieces of paper, powder? Don't know but even with the plow, on the floor. The top of the baseboards in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned in a while.

I was surprised how small the menu was in the dining room. I thought it was because I'd arrived later, close to 2100 last night but when I went today, for lunch, it was the identical menu.

Comfort though? Just great, lovely view of a Buda hill, excellent location.

We liked our stay at Ibis Castle Hill - it was overall worth the price and a pretty clean, standard hotel room. The only thing we missed was the lack of drink making facilities, such as coffee, tea, mugs and a kettle, which would have been nice after a long day exploring Budapest. There was also only three pillows for the two of us, which meant we had to share one pillow (we prefer two pillows each to sleep on). The room also had a three-in-one shampoo, shower gel and face wash which was nice since we forgot to bring shampoo with us. Overall the room was fine for what we wanted, but just would have been nicer to have more facilities.

I stayed the following 3 nights at the Novotel nearby. Accor group branding was evident at both hotels. My experience at Ibis / Mercure was similar to the slightly more expensive Novotel. I would definitely stay at the Ibis / Mercure again.

The location was great, very close to the metro which was a short and easy ride to where everything was happening The room was nice and clean. The best part of this hotel was Marcell , he was extremely helpful. He was very detailed and provided great information. He help me with taxi information, spa reviews, and restaurant recommendations and transportation. He was the star of this property.
What I didnt like about this hotel was the lack of a coffee maker and coffee in the room which is essential in the start of my day.
They also didn't provide any basic shampoo or conditioner. The breakfast was average and I thought extremely overpriced at 15 Euros . The hotel's interior is pleasing to the eye.
I've stayed at at least 3 other Ibis properties and they all had coffee makers in the room. The lack of coffee was a real issue for me.

This hotel is great in price-value comparison, has a good location in the city and a nice view. The room was also cozy, and larger compared to other ibis hotels i tried before. The lobby has great spots to sit/chill with a laptop or books, the restaurant and bar are also really nice and stuff is great. What i really liked, and found unique - the menu in the bar and restaurant showed the final prices with vat and service charge - not like other places, where it's hidden and you have to do all the math to find out the real prices.
There is also a nice instagram-spot in the lobby with a trabant, and the whole lobby has a train station+graffity theme which i liked a lot. I have to admit, i felt more home here than in most 4-5star places - and definately will come back.One thing i've missed: the electric kettle from the room

Pet Friendly is a rip off

Pet friendly yes .. but they charged us 20 EUR per pet. We had 3 tiny dogs, each weighing less then 3 Kg and can fit into a single small carrier box, so to be charged 60 Eur extra is ridiculous. There is no way they can justify a 20 EUR surcharge for a pet when the norm is more like 10 EUR max.

Our rooms were modern and clean and had the expected basics. The AC wasn't working very well, though, which made it a lot harder to control de room temperature which would have made the nights a more pleasant. The service was very good mainly at breakfast time. Constantin was always very helpful and, most importantly, joyful. He definitely made our stay in Ibis an unforgettable one. We will be recommending Ibis Castle Hill in the future, for sure.

As we entered the hotel, Front office staff collected the City taxes irrespective the guest has stayed or not yet, as a practice in hotel industry City taxes are collected at the time of check-out and not at the time of check-in. Front office staff particularly one of the female managers was very rude and doesn't know how to behave with foreign customers. On requesting for hotel wifi password she snatched one of our phone and removed the airplane mode costing us \"roaming charges\", which was reimbursed by the hotel. Garbage-bin is not kept in the washroom unless requested by guest. Bed-sheet is changed on the mood of house-keeping staff and not daily. Washroom is not vaccum cleaned while guest is staying due to safety reasons as explained by Front Office which is very unusual. Since the property is a new hotel, in general, staff needs to be educated about the hospitality industry and customer service business, hotel brand name rather than their own wishes and preference to serve the guests. During our stay we found the room to be quite hot, on inquiry we were informed that A/c is turned off due to dropped in temperature, if we feel the need for colder air we should open the windows. Hotel location is good walking distance from metro station, hotel buffet breakfast is good with lots of varieties to choose from.

Er zijn betere opties in Boedapest

Tijdens evenementen wordt een prijs berekend die meer dan het dubbele is dan de reguliere prijs. De kamer maakte een verwaarloosde indruk: vlekken in het tapijt, overal beschadigde muren, beschadigd hoofdboard van het bed. De kamer is niet geschikt voor een langer verblijf dan 1 nacht vanwege het gebrek aan ruimte of behoorlijke kastruimte. Het ontbijt is te duur (€19,- pp) voor wat je krijgt. Als ik iets positiefs moet zeggen, zou het de ligging zijn, vlak bij een station en castle hill op loopafstand.
