Clean, spacious room with plenty of surfaces for storage and a magnifying mirror in the bathroom which is always useful! Friendly staff and nice communal areas. Great location! Easy public transport links. The only thing that wasn’t great was the shower, which flooded the bathroom every time it was used. But a minor issue in this excellent hotel.

The air conditioning was not good, we were barely feel the AC during the whole staying even though we put the temperature very low. But the good thing is few of the sightseeing places are very close to the hotel, so we could take a walk.

First, I will talk about the pros..
1. Comfortable beds and pillows
2. Nice breakfast and restaurant food
3. Nice bar
4. Great ambiance to sit and have drinks or gather with friends
5. Allowed me to check in early
6. Large rooms

Cons..
1. Air conditioning quit cooling after first night
2. Shower has a half door and the water soaks the entire bathroom floor
3. I had the “do not disturb” sign on my door and twice, someone just walked right in without even knocking
4. I was missing a TV remote. Had to call twice to get one brought to me
5. When you go to the breakfast buffet, be careful with the condiment containers and coffee machine. The container for the ketchup violently shot ketchup across and ruined my entire outfit. The ketchup literally shot sideways and ruined my favorite white shirt, pants, and new Italian slips ons (they are made of cloth and are cream colored)
The coffee machine also spits coffee sideways too. Just be sure to stand way back.
The sugar containers are always jammed and when you try to pour the sugar out, the entire lid falls off and spills the sugar all over the table and floor.
I know this sounds petty, but it really ruined my morning because my outfit was not salvageable after the ketchup. They should use different dispensers for the condiments.

Other than that, I really loved the hotel. I’d stay again, I would just know to be VERY cautious at breakfast. 😂

The Hotel location is great, its a 2 minute walk to the M1 subway, if you want to wander into Pest from Buda the walk is roughly 30 minutes if your not gawking at the castle and bridge etc.

We only had one small issue with our room not been made up, they replaced the complimentary drinks in our fridge

Had a fantastic stay at the Mercure – the location couldn't be better! It's perfectly situated within walking distance of Fisherman’s Bastion and Matthias Church, offering stunning views of Budapest both at sunrise and after dark. The area felt very safe throughout our visit.

A 1-hour Danube cruise is an absolute must—try to book around 8:15 to 8:30 PM so you can experience the city’s transformation from dusk to night. The Parliament building looks especially magical when it lights up around 9 PM (timing may vary depending on sunset).

For those with a sweet tooth, don’t miss Ruszwurm near Matthias Church—a charming spot with delightful pastries. If you're up for some nightlife, take a stroll along the road by the Parliament where you’ll find plenty of bars for a casual hopping experience.

The Széchenyi Chain Bridge is breathtaking when lit up at night, perfect for a scenic walk. While Citadella is currently closed for renovation, hiking up the hill still rewards you with mesmerizing panoramic views of the city—a solid 25-minute uphill walk, and absolutely worth it!

We stayed at this hotel during our trip to Budapest and found it to be very conveniently located just a short walk from Fisherman’s Bastion and other main attractions in the Buda side of the city.
We were three adults traveling (my daughter, husband and myself), and while the room was spacious enough, the third bed was quite uncomfortable the mattress was hard and made noise every time you moved. Unfortunately, the air conditioning also didn’t work properly, which made the room a bit uncomfortable during the night.
On the positive side, breakfast was decent and the hotel facilities overall were clean and well-maintained. If the bed and air conditioning issues were improved, it would definitely be a great place to stay.

Perfet for my trip

The location is just a min from the major train station. My arrival was midnight, but it was totally safe. The staff at the reception was friendly, and quickly took care of my check in, that was so helpful because I was very tired. I was able to see the castle view from the room. Very clean. Comfy bed. I had to leave early in the morning, and compliment Nespresso made me up. I was so happy to stay in this hotel

Do not stay here..!
Hotel room is as hot as hell. No AC no fan.. I called reception and asked for them to come turn on the AC, they told me they cannot turn on the building AC because it’s spring and that I should open my windows to sleep..! Response was so crazy I started to think if this was hotel or jail room! ( mind you I just left a previous hotel and I had AC all through )
I couldn’t sleep all night .. second night was hell as I ended up having heat rashes all over my body.!
I had to evacuate and booked another hotel entirely.
Imagine going for a vacation and coming back with heat rashes . I will never ever stay here again!

The room was small for 2 adult occupants, generally hot as air conditioning not adequate even when window is open.
Room light tripped off on 2 separate occasions though staff attended to resolve (never experienced this in hotel accommodation).

I only stayed here one night since I only had 18 hours in the area. Really nice room, small, but nice and new. In fact everything seemed new. I really like the ground floor behind the reception. Amazing restaurant, and bar \"The Station\". I would like to visit this place again. I don't have any idea about the area around the property.

Lovely clean refurbished room which was dark, quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was more of an unintended wet room as the size of the shower screen wasn’t adequate for the rainfall shower.

There wasn’t a lot in the immediate area and we were initially slightly disappointed but the proximity to the metro station was brilliant and made the wider city accessible. Get a travel card and you can get anywhere. There is also a brilliant prima supermarket just behind the hotel if you need anything.

A shortish and steep walk to the castle area - well worth doing at night for amazing views.

A very minor thing would be that there wasn’t a single tv channel in English- we like a bit of BBC world but appreciate that we could have asked.

Our stay at Mercury was quite nice. We stayed 9 nights and it was convenient and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. “Castle Hill” in the name is misleading - it is not on Castle Hill but it is in the Castle Hill district. You still need to take ground transportation or climb a significant number of stairs. There is no grab bar in the shower and the design of the shower makes it difficult to take a shower without getting water everywhere. The only other feedback is that the staff had some trouble keeping the breakfast buffet stocked. The jam was hit or miss (mostly miss) as was the orange juice.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. The location is within 15 minutes walking to the university I visit and is next to a train station and supermarket which is convenient. Proximity to Castle Hill also very nice for free time.
When I checked in the room smelled horribly of smoke, although it is a non-smoking hotel. I called to change the room and the attendant came up and said she could not really smell much of anything. That was very surprising! But they did change me to a different room although it took nearly an hour. I was quite surprised by that delay, too! Overall I still recommend the hotel.

We stayed five days in May 2022, hotel staff were very friendly and desk staff helpful when asked about places we wanted to visit, printing a map of our route and the buses we needed.
Breakfast was nice, a good mixture of hot and cold food.
Our room was nice and clean, although the room was hot but this was because the air conditioning was faulty which was repaired during our stay.
The area was easy to access buses teams and trains, also not far to walk to the castle although uphill with plenty of steps.
We found the hotel very good and would stay again.

Nice hotel in a good location to Buda Castle and Matthias Church. Grocery store behind hotel with atm machine...restaurants within walking diatance as well as beautiful park across the street and transportation. Never had an issue with Bolt/Taxi pickup and dropoffs.

Friendly staff (except the bald guy in restaurant...perhaps manager (?) who acted like he was hating his life choices or his job.) He was so impatient and was very terse and rushed patrons....seemed annoyed to be working in hospitality However, restaurant food was good.

Room was well laid out and beds were comfortable. The view from the room was nice. The only thing is our room had horrible air circulation. The AC did not work and you can only tilt the window to crack a small opening for fresh air so room got very hot. I imagine this room would be very uncomfortable in the summer season especially if the AC remained in non-working condition.

Room 642 should not be used as double room. The room is so small you can’t move if there are two suitcases and two people.
The heating system could not be regulated hence the average room temperature was 28-30 Celsius- extremely hot. I was told it’s the autumn/winter heating system and nothing could be done ?? A little surprising to hear.

Apart from check-in being a complete shambles (we arrived at the same time as a bus load of tourists), there are no other issues. Nice clean hotel and rooms spacious and nice. Breakfast was nice and the hotel is located next to all transport options making it easy to get into the centre.

I ordered 4 night, but the staff told me the order was 3 nights when I checked in. I argue with them so they said ok I adjusted your stay as 4 nights in our system. But when I checked out, they asked me to pay for the fourth night again.
The cleaner wanted to clean my room at 8:00 am one day and I was asleep at that time point.

Overall, our stay is good. Hotel room look new though the front is still under renovation. Location of hotel is also near railway station and is interlinked to tram and buses for ease of travel to the old city.
The hotel staffs are also nice and friendly.
However as we arrived late at night at about 2230hr, the first impression of the hotel was a let down as we have to make a detour to the side entrance with our heavy luggage that was not lighted up and uneven ground.

Our go-to hotel in the city. Professionalism, hospitality and helpfulness is always perfect. We arrived after a long journey on a Sunday afternoon and Ali, the receptionist welcomed us at the reception area. Communication was great. The manager scheduled for that evening upgraded our room, which was a terrific experience. The superior twin was spacious enough, the mattress was super comfortable (hard enough that is very rare nowadays). We loved our stay. The check-out was super efficient, we had two luggages being delivered to us from abroad, the receptionists were more than happy to assist us with it, Ali and his colleague (a younger man with lighter hair) also called us a taxi and made sure that everything was alright. Flawless experience!

During the booking process I was told that I will get a free parking place (It is included in reservation), but after check in It turned out that there is no parking place, because the garage is being renovated. So finally I had to use external parking and pay for It (~5000HUF/day).

Not what we were expecting, hotel was under refurbishment which we wasn't informed about. However staff were friendly and helpfull . Ideal link using the metro but run down area surrounding the hotel is a bit off putting. Once inside the hotel room was spacious and comfortable.

Negatives Only 2 creams each day for your tea/coffee. Very small area by washbasin. No soap dish provided. Nothing to prevent water coming out onto bathroom floor when taking a shower.
Positives Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location for metro. Lovely bar area for drinks and to relax.

O hotel era localizado perto de estação de metro. O quarto era bom. A equipe da recepção péssima, sem absolutamente nenhuma boa vontade e dissociada do propósito de atender o turista. Café da manhã era bom. Só vale a pena se for levar consideração o custo benefício somado a localização.

Odak çok küçüktü, kızım için açılan yatağın matı çok ince ve rahatsız ediciydi. Otel konumu iyiydi, kahvaltıda çeşitlilik minimal düzeydeydi, çeşit arayanlar için yetersiz düzeyde. Odada ikram su yoktu.
