This hotel was an excellent choice for our stay in Budapest. The location is ideal if you prefer quiet evenings with the castle hill to yourselves. Breakfast was beyond continental with something for everyone. Very friendly helpful stall and spacious clean rooms. We will definitely refer friends here.

Shower head was positioned so that most of the water hit the floor, sink plug did not work. Otherwise hotel was clean and breakfast was good.

Be aware this hotel is right at the top of the hill in Buda so bit for those with limited mobility.

Staff were excellent. On arrival we were met by szabi for check in. We had an early flight and he accomadated us for early check in. Nothing was ever to much for the staff and they were consistently friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the room was so spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is good. The hotel is located at the square with many beautiful historical buildings, like castle, cathedral n museum. We could walk to these buildings on foot. One minor deficit is parking. You may not park your rental car at the hotel.

Great position to experian the sites of Buda. REALLY quiet in the evenings once the tourists have left and a great sanctuary away from the noise & traffic of Pest. The area offers amazing views of Pest & Danube, but if you want a view from your room you will be disappointed. The decor of hotel is fine, but those who have a real eye for detail will notice some of the finish is not great, but most wont & would give 5 stars. Staff polite & helpful. Fire alarm did go off unexpectedly but not really early just meant everyone was up and trying to have breakfast at the same time. Would recommend as a great base to explore from and get a peaceful nights sleep

This property is very nice! Friendly staff, great breakfast included and it is in a location that has many tourist sites a block away. We did find at time's difficult to book uber since castle hill is a bit out of the way but also easily walkable to bus, funicular and stairs down the hill.

This hotel was such a nice surprise in the castle district. I found on Expedia and the value was quite substantial. And the breakfast buffet was very complete to satisfy your hunger till dinner tim. A such a special historical neighborhood with more than 20 restaurants to chose. Buda Castle in the castle district will make you feel so privileged to stay there

My finance and I had a very nice stay at the buda castle hotel. Especially because when we arrived at the hotel the receptionist told us that they were upgrading our room from standard to superior for free! This was a welcome surprise given we had just walked up the hill from the train station with our big rucksacks in the 25 degree heat. The room was extremely comfortable with high ceilings, a comfortable bed and a large modern bathroom. The I would have given the condition rating 5 stars if it wasn’t for the faulty shower head which couldn’t be adjusted from its limp position in the holder, and the water pressure in the whole bathroom wasn’t very good. Despite this we had a lovely stay with the location being very close to the castle and fisherman’s bastion, despite the street being silent 24/7. The breakfast was also excellent.

Overall we appreciated our stay at the Buda Castle. However, the staff needs to learn how to smile and be gracious in their dealings with guests, especially kitchen/restaurant staff. Most staff didn’t seem overly invested in the hotel — neither in service to the guests or care of the facility, something we expect of a four-star “fashion” hotel.

Perfect place to stay for tourists. I have never stayed inside the Castle Walls until I stayed here. The breakfast was excellent and the service was so kind and friendly for the whole trip. This would not be a good place for those seeking to be close to the urban area excitement of “Pescht”. But is a medieval castle European town experience is what you want this was more than I could have imagined and it came with a great breakfast every morning!

Really excellent hotel, in a beautiful location. Just around the corner from the stunning Matyas Church and Fishermans' Bastion. You can either easily walk up the hill from the Chain Bridge or catch one of the frequent buses that run to/from very close to the hotel and into the Pest side of town. The hotel is in a lovely, historical, quiet part of town on the Buda side. If you want lots of nightlife on your doorstep then this probably isn't the place, but if you want a relaxing and peaceful stay in beautiful surroundings then it is! There are restaurants nearby. We found that the more traditional ones had closed their kitchens by around 9.30pm (fair enough!), but Jamie's Italian was open for a late dinner. The room itself was spacious, clean and well fitted out. Very comfortable beds. We had a duplex room with a mezzanine level which included twin beds (with TV) upstairs and a sofa bed, TV, desk, and comfy sitting area (plus the ensuite) downstairs. All of the members of staff that we met during our stay were very friendly and helpful. The first room we were allocated had a double bed instead of twins and we were quickly shown an alternative room and helped to move. The breakfast was lovely, with a choice of cooked items (the scrambled eggs and bacon was delicious!), breads, croissants and pastries, salad, cold meats, cheeses, cereal, tea, coffee, juice etc. Set us up very well for our days out. We would definitely want to stay here again!

A repeat customer remains happy!

My husband and I stayed here two years ago (in early Nov). My cousin and I were coming for the Christmas markets and decided to stay at Buda Castle Hotel-- I like the location so much. It beautiful, it's quiet, the walking and shopping is lovely.
The hotel itself is spacious and comfortable. We had a room with an upstairs loft bed and downstairs was a sofa bed. Both beds were outstanding and the room was quite quiet.
We asked for complimentary bath robes and extra towels and got them immediately. The room had a window we could open. (I love that!)
Aside from not especially hot or strong coffee, the breakfast had a nice variety of salad fixings, meats, cheeses, breakfast fruits, yogurts, baked tomatoes, baked beans, and eggs (buffet or a la carte), and a number of baked goods and breads. Only breakfast is served at the hotel, though it is possible to have a coffee any time of the day.
There are a number of very enjoyable restaurants walking distance from the hotel.
The manager Lazslo was very helpful. Daniel in the kitchen was just fantastic. The hotel has 27 rooms and all rooms were on two floors.
We enjoyed a concert at nearby Matthias Church, walked across Chain Bridge to the Pest side, and, upon return to the Buda side, took the funicular back up to the Buda Castle area.
I will stay at this hotel again when I return to Budapest. I love the privacy of the space and the intimacy of the environment.

This is a quaint hotel that was very clean and quiet and in a great part of Budapest. If you're looking for a 5-star with luxury amenities, this is not it. But we would definitely stay here again. Loved the location and our room was clean and very comfortable.

The location was great. Loved being in the castle district! Hotel staff were very friendly and engaging. There were a few things we wished they knew more about from a tourist perspective, i.e. the city’s travel discount card, which would have been helpful and saved us some time. Breakfast was great!

Only issue in the room was the shower door leaked making the floor and carpet near the bathroom wet and causing the room to be slightly musty.

We’d definitely stay here again.

I love this hotel. I have stayed here at least five times over the past several years and find it very charming, with a very friendly and helpful staff.

My only issue on this trip, and admittedly, it was several days of warm weather, was that my room would never cool Enough to be comfortable except late at night.

But this will definitely not keep me from staying at this hotel again as I am sure it was a minor issue that they intend to correct that room.

We loved staying in the Buda Castle area. This hotel was convenient to many restaurants and shopping areas. It was about a 15 minute drive to the Pest side. The hotel was older but in excellent condition. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. It is a 10 minute walk to Buda Caslte & Fisherman’s Bastion. Staying in the area was like stepping back in time. It was wonderful. Would absolutely recommend.

Service was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. However the hotel didn't have a working air conditioner. Even though I stayed here in April, the temperatures were record high, when we asked the front desk why is the air conditioner not working we were told they only turn it on during \"summer seasons\", well we are in climate change which means warm seasons are expanding. Whoever owns this hotel, stop being stingy and TURN ON THE AIR CONDITIONER.

Great hotel, lovely and clean, very comfortable and stylish room and tasty continental breakfast. Literally around the corner from the Fisherman's Bastion and the Cathedral. A funicular railway takes you down the hill where you can walk to most places. The public transport system is excellent if you don't fancy walking.

The location of the hotel is great but they shouldn’t advertise on-site parking when there’s none. We were told to drive around to find parking spot or if we could only park far away from the hotel we could use public transportation to get back. See pictures in front of the hotel. I specifically picked the hotel because of the advertised on-site parking. It turned out to be false advertisement.

The front desk attendant Szabi was excellent - set a very high level of customer service we have not experienced in other stays in Poland, Hungary and Austria. Gold star for his work ethic.

Property is nice and slightly off the beaten path but close to castle and stairs leading down to river. Nice breakfast and clean rooms. (Wasn’t too fond of having bed upstairs with toilet/bath downstairs but got over it after a couple of days.)

Lovely little hotel in a beautiful and quiet area not far from Fisherman’s Bastion. Room was spacious and comfortable and well appointed with fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Hotel was clean, bright and airy with a small garden area. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety especially as I am coeliac and there were plenty of gluten free options and cross contamination was minimised by placing gluten free options ( brown and white bread, crisp breads and cereal) higher than other products, with many individually packaged. Well thought through. Fruit was extremely fresh as were cheeses and meats. A great hotel with extremely friendly helpful and pleasant staff in a great location. Benedict is worthy of mention, ensuring our spare bed was made up quickly in the duplex and spending time showing us where to go to find the sights, as well as serving us drinks in the garden on our arrival. A very welcoming guy. I will definitely be back next time I visit Budapest.

The location of the hotel is excellent. It is on the Buda side of the river where the castle is and only a short walk from the castle and the fisherman's bastion. The Buda side is quiet and peaceful.

The rooms were clean and pleasant without being exceptional. Certainly nothing that would put you off staying here.

There is no evening restaurant, but the is a breakfast room for the morning. Breakfast was fairly limited, but you'll find something and the quality was good. Hot food is very limited with just some scrambled eggs and sausages.

There is no parking at the hotel. If you want to park nearby this is within the Historical District and you will be parking on the street. We found a space ok a couple of streets away, however I could easily imagine struggling to find one in the middle of the day. You take a ticket from the machine on entry into the historical area and the hotel will validate it before you leave. Prices were very reasonable for this.

Note that in the local area there are NO cheap restaurants. They are all very high end, the food was lovely and not overpriced for the quality, but you'll struggle to find a main course for under £20 per person.

If you download the public transport app you can get a group ticket for around £10 per group per day for unlimited bus, tram and metro use (note you all have to travel together) which we found excellent value and made it only 5 minutes to the Pest side of the river where there's more things to do

Great location closed to buda castle and some restaurants .

The room is very different from the photos they displayed on booking site and I was a bit disappointed .
