My husband and I stayed here for two weeks. Our room was very clean and spacious. The outdoor patio area with pool was lovely. The food was fantastic for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sandesh and Pemba who work in the restaurant were amazing. They were alway smiling, accommodating, and very hard working! The driver for the hotel, Argyris was great! He is super friendly and funny! Everyone at the hotel made you feel like family. I hope to return to this secluded peaceful gem by the sea.

Our stay here was truly enjoyable. We were picked up from the airport by a private shuttle and welcomed in style. The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful, making our entire experience worthwhile. The restaurant waiters did a fantastic job—every meal was absolutely delicious. The rooms were clean and exactly as described. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return.

We had the most incredible stay at the Desiterra hotel. The hotel was beautifully presented and clean. As a family of 4 we hired the family villa which was lovely with our own pool and fairly spacious. The staff are absolutely wonderful at the property and made our stay so worthwhile. They took care of everything we could ask for.
We used all the facilities: the spa was great and we had a wonderful massage, the gym which was a little small but has what you need, the pool which has lovely views, and the restaurant had exquisite food - highly recommend the lamb chops and beef tagliata!
All in all we couldn’t recommend the hotel more. We would certainly go back.

This was an amazing vacation for our family. We stayed in the saffron gatherers villa which had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, kitchen, nice patio and pool. The villa has AC and it was nice a cool and the patio had the best breeze. The climate was amazing. The breakfast was great with a variety of egg omelettes and eggs and variety of pancake choices (Nutella), greek yogurt and granola, juices. Friendly staff, rooms were super clean and the staff was very attentive . Short car ride to Fira and Oia. We spent some days at the beaches and one day with caldera yachting on a sunset sail (which we HIGHLY recommend) The hotel is in the most perfect location, you can get every where relatively quickly. It is away from the hustle bustle and very peaceful and serene with the most amazing sunrises. The spa has great therapists and treatments as well. The beds were so comfortable and the showers had great water pressure and cold and hot water that never ran out. We travelled with three children. There are not enough stars to rate how amazing this hotel/villa is - amazing!

Firstly, the worker would come into the garden and walked by the pool whilst we were there. Secondly, instead of knocking on the door to speak to us, he would go into the neighbouring villa and talk over the hedge to ask us questions. Bearing in mind we were dress inappropriately so found it very disturbing. Due to the poor sewage system (I assume) the sinks in the room were extremely smelly (like a rotten egg) we complained multiple times until they decided to come and attempt to clean it - but the smell was still present. Overall the room was nice, but smelly and the service was poor. If it was only a few hundred for the stay it wouldn't be bad, but when you pay 1k+ it's very disappointing. We also mentioned it was our anniversary but no efforts were made - not expecting anything, but an acknowledgement would have been appreciated.

The views that we had from our villa was the best of all, but as soon as you get inside of the villa you get that bad smell from the bathroom sewer, the breakfast is nightmare not a lot of choices and even with what they offer a probably a 5 years old will cook better. To get to the property is another story, the roads are dangerous and no light or sign to the property except I believe at the beginning of the main road.

Nice villas and very nice and accommodating staff. the location is a 15-20 min drive to oia and 10 min drive to Fira. You must rent or arrange some sort of transportation (taxis can get expensive). They provide transportation from airport for 30 euros. The area nearby is under construction and really nothing to do near the resort itself. The resort does have a kitchen for breakfast, lunch and dinner and can be sent to the room. Sunset you will not be able to see the actual sun but the sky is pretty and there are many stars at night.

The amenities are perfect and wonderful. The word buffet does not have the same meaning however the breakfasts were great nonetheless. The exclusiveness is the key word for this place. The privacy, the luxury and relaxation away from the mobs of tourists is divine! Next time I schedule a longer stay, our three days was just not enough!

The hotel was clean and very nice. We stayed in a loft honeymoon suite with private pool. The pool was not heated so kind of cold. Also by 3 pm it was shaded for the day as it was on the north side of the room. So end of day time at pool ended up being the common pool. The room was amazing, very nice. There are pool towels available. They say they will bring them out but never do you have to ask. Food was quite expensive compared to within town. It’s a 10 minute drive to virtually anything, the hotel is all on its own no where to walk around.

Definitely aimed at couples or solos for a luxurious quiet getaway. We were with a 10 year old. All of us loved the place and were gutted to leaveI after 4 nights. Very quiet and out of the way so get a car. If you’re looking for a top class retreat this place is amazing. Food is great as is the service. Bit pricey but it’s to be expected with what the resort is aiming for. Highly recommended, we’ll be back!

We had a beautiful time staying in the honeymoon villa! It is perfect for couples! Very secluded and spacious! The pool was great for the super hot days we had. The property is outside of the city and there is only one hilly rocky road that leads to it. It is a 50 minute walk to Fira so be prepared to rent an ATV, Car or pay 25€ each way for a transfer. For example, We needed to go to the market our first day, it cost us 50€. Aside from that the entire staff are amazing — The drivers, cleaning ladies, hotel staff, every one of them! So welcoming and ready to help in a moments notice! We highly recommend this property!

We really like staying at this property because it’s not in the central town area. It’s out on the island a little ways which makes it very quiet, and less crowded than most areas. It’s a very short drive to get to anywhere that you want to go, so it was nice to be out and away from the hustle and bustle of the cities.we really enjoyed the room we stayed in and it was nice to have your own private pool! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Communication was a struggle at times but we always worked through it. The food at the property is very good as well! One minor negative was the bathroom which could have done with some improvement and space for towel rack and a paint job. Amazing time and would definitely revisit again! Desiterra is like a private paradise in busy Santorini. You definitely need a car to move around the island as it’s remote from anything else but also that’s what makes it so special. A beautiful hotel on Santorini. Quiet, clean with great accommodations. Stayed in a villa with a family of 5. Off the beaten path from Fira. On-site restaurant is great. Walking distance to fantastic beach and restaurant. Road to the hotel is an adventure, and prices are on the high end for Greece.

I loved all the staff members, Zoi and Michalis at the front desk, Kalia Hercules and Pascals at the restaurant/bar. They really made our stay the best it could have ever been. Their kindness and hospitality was off the charts, some of the best I have experienced at any resort. I especially liked how we were talked to about main attractions, restaurants and things to do in Santorini as soon as we arrived for our stay. And they were able to book everything through the resort for us- including my rental car. It was so efficient and very convenient. I also particularly like the WhatsApp front desk feature- where you can ask them a question any time via message on whats app. So convenient, and they are always online to help!!! I also really like how they have food going almost all the time- breakfast then lunch, then dinner. And room service. A 5 star sublime resort and experience for sure! The villa was a great size and had good facilities including a pool. However, there was an ant infestation which was still there after the room had been cleaned, communication didn’t feel that easy with staff as they were not very helpful and the restaurant was disappointing - for example we asked for chips and were told they do not get served for dinner however, the same waiter brought out chips to another person in front of us twice for dinner. The food was average if that at best.

The views are not as advertised. Nowhere in the online pictures do you see dilapidated buildings or power lines obstructing virtually all views. There also is no beach near the property as picture suggest. When these items were point out to staff, they rudely suggested that anyone that didn’t want to be there should leave. I would not stay here again. I was weary due to the location but after reading amazing reviews was won over and decided to book. First issue - we booked a couples massage in our villa, I have currently been charged twice for this. Once on check out as expected and then another 3 days later. I find this dodgy from a hotel that is aimed as a luxury provider. I have had to go through a process with MasterCard regarding the duplicate charge and still have not received the duplicate payment back. The set up with private pools outside each villa is very nice, however our private pool wasn’t cleaned during our stay and it was very windy, there was dust, leaves and flowers floating all over the top and it would have been nice to have the top skimmed daily. The toiletries weren’t replaced during our stay, towels weren’t replaced and the linen from the previous guest remained in a pile outside the back door of our villa for the first two days. There was hair in the shower when we arrived. It was the little details and service that was missing from this being a great stay. It had so much potential as the set up is nice, however the execution lacked. We have the hassle of trying to get a duplicate payment refunded and it wasn’t the clean high standard we expected from reading the reviews. i was also changed €10 for using a credit card on check out which is a bit ridiculous and we weren’t pre warned of the need to pay in cash.

Amazing! Our stay here allowed us to have the best of both worlds. You get exactly what you see in the photos and more. Rooms are very spacious and extremely clean. You want for nothing here and having your own private pool away from the busy crowds is paradise! The staff arranged for our transport from the ferry making our transition easy and stress free. Upon arrival we were greeted by an extremely friendly staff that could not do enough for us. No matter what we wanted or needed, Maria, Stella and Enrik ensured our needs were fulfilled. They even booked us at some fantastic restaurants with the best views! We also had the pleasure of talking to the owner on numerous occasions who is always on hand and quite friendly and informative. Lastly, we will miss our nightly visits from Smartie while enjoying the tranquility that Desiterra has to offer. My only suggestion would be to rent a car as taxiing from place to place can become quite expensive. It costs 30 euros round trip to Thira and 60 euros to Oia and back. Would definitely return !

This place is amazing, villas are roomy and the private pool screams luxury. The area is remote so if you need something that is walking distance to food/shopping, this is not for you. You have to pay to get a taxi to go into town. They do have a couple of restaurants that will deliver directly to your villa which is nice. Maria was a great host and gave us a lot of great tips while we were there. Sweetie, the dog, is the mascot, watch out, he will steal your sandals if you are not watching hahaha. There is a beach that is a 20 minute hike away. I would suggest either taxi to get there quickly or wearing water shoes becuase the terrian is very rocky.

Where do I start with Desiterra Suites & Villas? Me and my girlfriend have just returned from a 5-night stay there and can not thank them enough for making our trip to Santorini an unforgettable experience.
We arrived after a lengthy journey from Manchester and received a warm welcome (and a glass of wine) from our concierges, Maria and Stella and the owner of Desiterra, Dimitri. All of the staff at Desiterra were extremely warm, welcoming and friendly and could not do enough to help us. They offered us amazing recommendations for food, drinks, excursions and activities. Another important member of staff was the villa’s dog, Smartie, who was also on hand to greet us upon arrival. Being dog lovers ourselves, we found it to be a nice touch that Smartie was well looked after.
A full breakfast service was available for delivery to the villa. There was 3 ‘tiers’ of breakfast available with varying amounts of food. We took advantage of the breakfast on our first morning at Desiterra, it was tasty and the portions were generous.
Maria and Stella were on hand to book taxis for us to help us commute around the island. The drivers were professional and timely and always made sure to pass us their card so we could call them and arrange our return journey as and when required. A taxi or a rental car is required to reach other locations on the island.

Another important member of staff was the villa’s dog, Smartie, who was also on hand to greet us upon arrival. Being dog lovers ourselves, we found it to be a nice touch that Smartie was well looked after.
A full breakfast service was available for delivery to the villa. There was 3 ‘tiers’ of breakfast available with varying amounts of food. We took advantage of the breakfast on our first morning at Desiterra, it was tasty and the portions were generous.
Maria and Stella were on hand to book taxis for us to help us commute around the island. The drivers were professional and timely and always made sure to pass us their card so we could call them and arrange our return journey as and when required. A taxi or a rental car is required to reach other locations on the island.

The property was perfect. It was my first holiday away with my partner and it couldn’t have been more amazing. From checking in to checking out everything was done with such enthusiasm and professionalism. Nothing was ever too much trouble, all the staff were so friendly and willing to do anything. We wanted to do several excursions which we didn’t book they took all the stress out our hands and organised it and booked for us. Some evenings we decided to get take out which they even ordered for us and was bought to our door. They were full of recommendations and booked us into such amazing restaurants. I can honestly say it was the most perfect location and team at Desiterra. Thankyou for making mine and my partners holiday one to remember we will definitely be back.

The location is tranquil, away from the busy side of the island, bathed in ocean views, cool breezes and show stopping sunrises. The staff are warm, friendly, engaged and truly want you to enjoy your Desiterra experience. They were a pleasure to meet and were exemplary representatives of the company and island spirit. Our villa was lovely, large and spacious, really clean, cozy bed, excellent wifi, great soundproofing and well equipped, though disappointing, not complete with all furnishing as per our booking. Management did promptly correct this situation when we brought it to their attention.
