The staff were very helpful,especially Marlana.All staff were welcoming.The rooms were spacious,clean,beds were firm,but comfortable. Bathroom was small but for the price good value. We had a nice balcony with a small clothes line,great for drying bathing suits. Free breakfast was good. We liked we had bottled water. The location was excellent for the tours we were on. The hotel is close to the public bus routes. We took the public bus from the airport for 2€,if you do, get off at the Zotos bakery stop 1 stop before Fira, it is a 4 minute walk to the hotel.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the hotel was conveniently close to Fira. However, the room had a strange smell, and the bathroom was very small with an awkward design — the open shower caused water to spill everywhere. Unfortunately, our overall experience was disappointing, and we had to check out two days early. It was also unfair that the property manager refused to offer even a partial refund.

Very nice and friendly small hotel. Rooms clean. Great staff. Basic hotel if you just need a place to sleep. Breakfast was the same every morning, some bread and cheese etc. They could add some tomatoes and cucumber etc to it. But im satisfied and would book this hotel again.

We had a wonderful stay at Ikaros Hotel. The lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful when we arrived. She explained what public transport was available to us and gave us recommendations for areas to visit, which helped us so much in knowing how to get around Santorini easily. The location was peaceful and quiet, a 20 minute walk/5 minute bus drive from the city center (Fira). They provided free breakfast from 8-10 am with the hotel booking, and it was a simple continental breakfast (bread, yogurt, cereal, etc) but it all tasted great and was very convenient!

The staff are very friendly and helpful at Ikaros Hotel. The hotel itself is conveniently located near the Karterados bus stop for buses going south and to the airport (and it is only a 15 minute walk into Fira). There are plenty of dining options nearby and there is also a supermarket on the main road for drinking water and all other essentials. Our room was clean and spacious with a small, cosy balcony. Breakfast was basic but sufficient with coffee, tea, fruit juice, cereals, breads and spreads. Overall a lovely little place that we would highly recommend :-)

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was good with a variety of options to choose from, ensuring a great start to our day. It was also a nice touch to find complimentary water left in the fridge.

However, the shower division was not very well done, and as a result, the bathroom would be filled with water after showering. This made it quite inconvenient. Apart from that, we had a comfortable stay.

Great hotel!!

My stay at Hotel Ikaros could not have been better. Overall a great experience, but most of all the staff were just incredible. It is a family run business and Yanis the owner is just the kindest and most helpful person, and so are his father and other staff at the hotel, such as Manos the reception manager - most pleasant hotel stay I have ever had and wouldn't hesitate to return :)

John is the most accommodating and delightful! Anything we needed he made available to us. He arranged a taxi from the port last minute, he helped rent us a car, he provided recommendations for places to visit and the list goes on. The location is ideal, walking distance from great restauarants (Katerina is great) and a short drive to Fira for great sunset view. The breakfast was convenient and simple. The rooms were cleaned daily which was awesome.

The only issue was the wetting up of the bathroom floor everytime someone showered due to the short shower curtain. We jokingly called it a swimming pool but it was cleaned and the mat replaced everyday when we returned.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is walking distance to Fira but the bus stop is also only a block or so away so convenient. It was an affordable option for our family of 5. Staff we friendly, helpful and breakfast was decent. Really appreciated them holding our rooms when due to flight issues we arrived two days late. We were looking for a safe, central and economical spot to tour the island and this was perfect. Would stay again for sure.

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast consisted of cereal, bread, cheese, salami and cake. The room was comfortable but the bathroom was small and really awkward to try not to soak the full room due to the way the shower curtain etc was set up. It was close to a few restaurants and supermarket.

This is by far the best place I have ever been at. First of all, the hotel is located at in the center of island and no matter where you decide to go, you can reach the destination in 20 minutes. I recommend getting ATV for driving around, it is a wonderful joy to ride it around island.

Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful from the very first day we arrived. They allowed us to check in early and our suitcases were kept at the reception few hours after check out (before our flight) while we were visiting around.

Breakfast was good, toast sandwiches were my favorite. Also, there are many greek traditional restaurants around. I rate this place 10/10

With the increasing tourist volume and invasion of the most interesting sites by the whole world it is difficult to find the authentic value. Ikaros is definitely the place, after spending the day in Fira how great to retrieve into the Greek typical atmosphere.

We only stayed here for one night. We had a flight arrive at 3am, and the accomodation we were meeting family at did not allow check in past 9pm. This place was wonderful and accommodating & allowed us an extremely late (early morning!) check in which we appreciated so much. Excellent stay considering price! I was not expecting it to be so lovely.

South of Fira Town

Nothing fancy, but this nice little hotel has everything you need. The hotel is located in Karterados, which is about 1.5 kilometers south of Fira. So you can walk to Fira in about 15 minutes. The staff is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The rooms are clean and spacious, have refrigerators and hot pots, and a pleasant little patio. Because you are outside of Fira, it is blessedly peaceful and serene. Plus, there is a good-sized supermarket and a bus stop only minutes away.

The hotel is located very close to Thira town. We travelled by bus which took 3 mins or walked for 15 to Thira. The rooms are small but not too bad. Overall the stay was satisfactory if all you are looking for is a bed and a place to shower.

PROS- the girl on reception was really lovely -she is the only reason why im leaving a review at all.
The proximity to Thira is great! 10-15min walk! The room size was fine, fridge useful, bed comfy and balcony was cute. Air con also worked fine.
CONS - the pictures make the hotel look better than it is - i dont know if this was just our room though. The bathroom was cramped and grubby! The shelf above the skin was dirty and the sink stained. THE WALLS ARE PAPER THIN- beware if you booking with babies/children. Wifi is also terrible

Friendly staff elevates basic hotel

Ikaros Hotel is a simple place about 20 minutes walk from Fira, Santorini's main town. There are a couple of nice restaurants nearby, as well as a supermarket, ice cream shop and cafes. Although our room was basic, we liked the small balcony with limited sea view. The staff was very helpful and informative. For an expensive tourist destination such as Santorini, Ikaros Hotel provides a budget friendly option for independent travellers who don't need any frills.

I wouldn't decommend staying here as it falls extremely short of even a budget hotel.
The bad:
-Did not get the beds we booked
-No hot water
-Water is not drinkable
-No internet

The good:
-It's quiet
-can drop bags early

We booked a room with \"1 double bed and 1 single bed\" specifically because other hotels didn't guarantee the double bed. Our room had only two single beds. We assume a hotel will have hot water. Out of the four times we tried showering we had hot water once. Clearly they don't have a strong/big enough hot water heater. We told staff this, and later when told that we never got more hot water the response was, \"Oh, we've been using it down here cleaning. I guess we didn't leave you any.\" We also assume hotels have drinkable water. Yes, their water won't hurt you but it's very unpleasant (salty) to drink and is terrible for coffee. The staff specifically recommend using bottled water when you check in. When internet is advertised as an amenity I expect something that I can stay logged into for more than 4 minutes and something that manages a Google search in less than 2 minutes. Regularly there was no signal to connect to. I had 100x better internet using data through my phone on a ferry leaving the island than through the hotel wi-fi.

So, on two accounts (bed and internet) we were lied two and on two accounts (hot and drinkable water) I learned that what I consider basic amenities are things I need to request. The hotel's position: eh, too bad.

Reasonably priced hotel in town, friendly staff,

Just off the main road, down along a smaller avenue (future travelers ,take note, the hotel is NOT along the main road leading to Fira, so you'll have to go down another smaller avenue, lookout for the sign at the end of the road on a wall/fence that says Hotel Ikaros. Or just ask anyone, they will be able to help and are quite friendly!!

The receptionist was so welcoming and made a great start to our stay. Our flight was delayed and we arrived after sundown - first time in Santorini and not really sure about the streets - but he gave us recommendations and showed us to our room. Great staff!!

Also, they have a lovely lobby :)

Cute, Cozy rooms & nice staff!

I loved it! It was great for my 3 days, it was a 15 minute walk to the center of Fira, theres bakeries close by & police station & next to the main road to Fira, Oia & south of the island. The staff was SO nice, always a smile on their face. I was by myself as a girl and I felt safe, the room was cute, white, clean, simple with a cute little balcony and the view of the sunrise. I would definitely recommend Ikaros Hotel!

Hotel was close to many tourist sites, we had to rent an atv to drive down to oia(postcard pics), and also to black beach. The staff was super friendly and the rooms were nice. Only weird thing was the shower cause its all open so we got the whole bathroom wet haha otherwise loved the staff and the hotel.

Quite nice, but hardware can be improved.

The price is really nice. The room is ok but the bathroom can be improved as it is too dim and a bit small. About 20 minutes walk to Fira which you can find lots of bakeries and restaurants along the road. Buses are available 3 minutes away from the hotel. The location of the hotel is quite quiet at night but we still felt safe walking back to the hotel at night.

We have just returned from this hotel. We had a lovely time. It is a small boutique type of hotel. To be quite honest the people were really friendly and took care of everything we needed. It is not a five star luxury hotel so do not expect extravagance, however if you are looking for a friendly clean and super comfortable place to stay, stay here. It is very basic but they offer you breakfast at a rate of five Euros a day per person which has a lovely choice of warm and cold food.
They listen to you and give you all the information about the local area. It is close enough to Fira which is the main area of beautiful houses lining the cliffs. This is well within walking distance. Basically a lovely little place to unwind and prepare you for the great outdoors.
The owners are very hospitable and make you feel very welcome, it adds a personal touch to your stay.

Good Location, but VERY BASIC!

Entrance and everything looks good. Road toward the hotel is really bad, especially the parking bay. Hotel looks good on the outside, room is basic, but I guess you get what you pay for. Kettle wasn't working, said will replace but wasn't replaced. Oh yes.. if u have a lot of luggage or heavy luggage, the stairs is a killer!! no lift. Overall, not a bad stay with these minor issues.

Cheap hotel but you get what you paid for

Pro: Central location not far from Thira and cheap price
Cons: very basic facilities: you get what you paid for. (1) bathroom is very tiny and gets very dirty with just 1 shower as water goes everywhere. (2) Insects might come up from the water-hole on the floor. (3) Only single beds available. (4) We got a nice terrace although overlooking the house-next-door's entrance - no privacy. (5) Line beds old with holes although clean. (6) Although they say they do airport transfers it did not happen with us - I recognise we landed very early at 6am, but would have been nice to know

Atendimento familiar é excelente, nos deu mapa, dicas, nos ajudar com a mudança do horário do nosso ferry. Café da manhã bom, fica a 20 min da estação central de ônibus, mas há um ponto de ônibus a menos de 6 min do hotel. Voltaria com certeza a este hotel e recomendaria. Único porém é o box do banheiro que poderia ser maior, e realmente mau projetado é pequeno.

Desayuno continental, habitaciones espaciosas con aire acondicionado con mobiliario un poco anticuado. Pero no quita que la experiencia haya sido buena. Cuenta con parking para huéspedes cerca del hotel.

L’hébergement était bien en général. Les lits très confortables. Par contre, très mal isolé donc on entend pratiquement tout ce qui se passe dans les couloirs. La fonctionnalité de la salle de bain est à revoir. L’emplacement est bien pour les déplacements.

Friendly hotel. Very nice, friendly, helpful staff. There is a fridge in the room but no kettle. We asked the staff for a kettle and cutlery and they lent us some for the rest of our stay. We were able to borrow whatever we wanted from the kitchen utensils.

We spent two weeks here, breakfast is available but we only used it once during our stay. Quite a poor selection but that didn't bother us as we like to sleep late and had breakfast at a nearby bakery.

The mattresses could be more comfortable but we put blankets under them and slept comfortably. The bedding was changed quite often as were the towels. We thought daily cleaning was unnecessary but apparently that is the hotel's policy. Quiet air conditioning in the room. Very polite cleaning ladies!

We recommend the hotel for both a short break and a longer stay.

Es ist eine sehr einfache, ruhige, sehr saubere, kleinere Unterkunft inmitten von Karterados. Auch das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hervorragend überein. Ich hatte die Unterkunft ohne Frühstück gebucht infolge meiner Zöliakie. Doch der entgegen gebrachter, unkomplizierter Gastfreundschaft, konnte ich jeden Morgen mit meinem Mann ein gutes, einfaches Frühstück geniessen, das freute mich sehr. Man ist ca in 20 min. Fussmarsch in dem Hauptstadtzentrum von Fira. Und mit einem Fahrzeug ist man dann sehr flexibel auf der ganzen Insel und es steht ein Hotelparkplatz zur Verfügung. Fazit: sehr empfehlenswert zum Übernachten mit wunderbarer,freundlicher,auskunftsreicher Gastfreundschaft.

Situato in posizione strategica a 15 min a piedi da Fira. Personale cordiale e pronto per ogni esigenza o domanda del cliente. Nota negativa per quanto riguarda il comfort. Letto matrimoniale composto da due materassi singoli, inoltre cigolava. Infine, si sentivano tanti rumori provenienti dalle altre stanze e dal corridoio, probabilmente perché le pareti erano molto sottili. Anche il climatizzatore faceva tanto rumore. Ah, dimenticavo, non c'è il bidet 👍
