A little gem of a hotel close to Thira

A little gem of a hotel. Close to central Thira around 5 minutes from the central bus station but in a surprisingly quiet location. Lovely grounds. Spacious rooms. Immaculately clean. The pool is small but adequate. We will definitely stay again.

We loved our stay here at Anessis while we were in Santorini. They offered taxi service for a fee (we usually take buses but the timing wouldn't work out for our flight arrival time). They were dependable and had it scheduled for us and the owner was there to meet us! The couple who own it are lovely and front desk girl speaks English to assist with other stuff. Clean, modern bathroom. It was walking distance to the \"city center\" of Fira and super close to the bus station if you plan on using that. Great price for location and quality of hotel!
We are sensitive to cars driving by and you could hear the cars but with ear plugs, no problem. Other people may not even hear the cars passing by!

This hotel was in a great location, walking distance from many shops, restaurants and supermarkets in all different directions!

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating…I plan to go back to Santorini next year and will definitely be booking here again!

We like to stay in Anessis hotel. Few reasons,:big room enough for family, convenience , everything just few minutes away from hotel, bus terminal.,Fira centre, taverns, bakery… And a big bonus is swimming pool!!!
Very helpful stuff! Next time we will stay again there.

The hotel was AMAZING! Superb facilities, lovely pool, great value for money. Friendly and helpful staff - saw the owner everyday, he always wanted to make sure we were happy.
The rooms have been modernised but still have Greek character. AC was superb too, beds comfy and a lovely rainfall shower. Location excellent also - 5min walk into Thira centre.

They made our transfer from the airport to the hotel easy and gave up a ton of activities to do on the island. Room was spacious, very clean, and had a wonderful view! Hotel was quiet and the pool made for a nice afternoon break from the heat. Extremely close to the bus station and the centre of Fira. Would recommend this to anyone not wanting to pay and arm and leg for a hotel in Santorini.

Sunrise close to bus station

Sunrise is beautiful, bus station is close even if road is well driven. Pool is a bit small but refreshing. Room is spacious enough and not too warm, but ants and strange smell was not fresh.

Overall this place was a lack luster. There were some communication issues and the front desk thought we were leaving at 4am. When we corrected them the next day, they seemed mad at us. Not sure what the big deal was, as we were staying awhile. It wasn't far from town, so that was good. But we were charged 7 euros each for a very meager breakfast and that was disappointing.

Excellent location near the hub bub of Fira.

Decent accommodations for the price. One of the staff Dimitris seems to lurk around and make you feel a little uncomfortable. While he’s nice, if you talk to him too much he will feel comfortable enough to say you are fat like he did to me yesterday. Evi at reception is fantastic and very helpful! The beds are comfortable and rooms spacious. WiFi was off and on.

Wifi did not work at all in my room. Sea view from my room was great. The reception and the owner were very friendly. Really appreciated the hospitality of the staff. The mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. Not for people with bad back. Location was pretty good.

Nice and close to the main strip of everything

Good experience overall. Evi was very helpful with what to do and recommendations. The owners couple (assuming) did not speak much English but were very pleasant.

The only issue we found (not the hotels fault) some customers which were staying at the same hotel specially during our last 2 nights did not consider that noise can travel fast and therefore were not considerate of others. This took place specially when it was closer to 2AM in the morning.
This was the only issue however, as we were checking out we did not even had a chance to report it to the owners of the hotel. So, we are not blaming the hotel.

Nice place!

This hotel was really nice. Our room was nice and big enough and we had a balcony with a great view. The location was very good, about a 5 minute walk to one of the main streets where there is a lot of restaurants and places to rent ATVs or vespas to explore the island with. We requested a late check in which they said would not be an issue.. but when we got to the hotel there was no one at the front desk, we called the number on the website and someone was there within minutes to check us in. Afterwards he gave us a ride to the main street and answered any questions we had about the island and it's attractions. Overall we were very happy with this hotel.

The host and hostess were really really nice people. Room and the bathroom were clean and have fridge and kettle inside. Also comes with a balcony, our room was facing the back so it was really nice to just sit out there at night as you can literally see no one but just some lights and the moon and you can just sit there and relax. This apartment also has a swimming pool, it was quiet and we enjoyed it as well. Also very good value for money.

Nice hotel quiet location

it's not in the middle of Downtown Fira, and it doesn't have a cliff facing view, but it's nice and quiet. It's good value and close to the bus station. Has everything you need, except a little older building. Wifi connectivity was not as strong in our room, but manageable.

Nice location in Fira

Great hotel location, a stone throw from bustling Fira. The owners were very helpful with booking our excursion to the volcano and hot springs. Alianora also arranged our ATV rental. Free parking at the hotel was also nice. Our room had a large balcony overlooking the ocean and the pool. Rooms were clean with a fridge and cooking area. We will book this hotel again when we return to Santorini. The owners and staff were very welcoming and friendly!

Weak Wifi, Dirty Floors

The wifi would not work in the bedroom and we had to stay in the living room the whole time. The floors were exceptionally dirty - white sock were gray in a few minutes of walking. The hotel manager/owner was also a little creepy - kept touching my shoulder and waist and offering me free coffee. Eeeek!

Checkin was pretty bad. There's nothing indicating where the reception was (in the basement), no one spoke any english so they put me on the phone with someone who apparently didn't speak it that well either. We got put in a room, then just after unpacking we got told it was the wrong room and we had to grab all our stuff again and got moved to a different one.

Breakfast was sub par (for example the hot water for tea was barely warm), room wasn't all that clean (long black hairs on the floor), bathroom was supposed to have a tub but didn't and the shower didn't have a place to hang the hose or a curtain that reached the floor so was essentially just a wet bath like on the ferries.

Also when we checked out we were told we couldn't leave our luggage as the \"reception\" was closed all day so we had to find someone at the bus station we could pay to keep it.

Location was decent though - easy walk to the bus stop and close enough to fira to walk in, with nice views of the non-caldera side of the island.

Overall, it was adequate, but given we felt we splurged a little to get a slightly nicer place then we'd had on other islands, we were quite disappointed. Twice what we'd paid elsewhere, half the value.

Loved Santorini and the Anessis Apartments made our holiday perfect. Reasonably close to the main areas of Fira ~ 400 mtrs up the road or across a carpark. Perfect accommodation and facilities for our family (had 2 rooms as 5 of us). Staff made you feel at home and assisted where necessary guiding us in the right direction with local knowledge.

We had such a wonderful stay with Anessis mainly because of all the friendly staff. They were helpful in many ways. The apartments were very large and comfortable. The shower is handheld only and the pillows a bit hard, but those are the only complaints and pale in comparison to all the positives. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

This hotel is reasonably priced and close to Fira. Overall, the rooms are a bit old but definitely clean and reasonable. Pros: the hotel owner is incredibly nice and super helpful, clean rooms, nice breakfast, free parking. Cons: bit difficult to find, bathroom is a bit outdated (shower head not attached to the wall).

Nice little hotel

Nice little hotel. Very friendly service, big room with fridge and kettle (but no mirowave). Few hundred meters from city centre, quiet place. We looked at sunrise, the view from the hotel is beautiful, you can see the sea. Only minor detail is that you walk to the centre via non-paved parking place, where are sometimes a lot of tourist buses.

Joli hôtel tenu par un couple gentil et réactif.
Les chambres donnant sur l’arrière sont assez calmes et permettent d’assister (pour les lève-tôt) au lever du soleil.
L’hôtel est situé à 10/15 minutes (tout en montée !) du centre de Fira, proche de la station principale des bus desservant les principaux points de l’île.
Attention néanmoins : il faut traverser des routes très passantes (celle longeant l’hôtel offre peu de visibilité).
La piscine bien qu’assez petite est bien agréable pour se rafraîchir et les transats sont confortables.
La nuit, les échos d’une boîte de nuit se font un peu entendre même dans les chambres à l’arrière, j’imagine que les chambres donnant sur la route sont d’autant plus exposées au bruit.
Petit bémol: une gestion un peu curieuse et parcimonieuse des produits de toilette. Sur les 3 petites bouteilles de gel douche/shampooing présentes à mon arrivée (pour 4 nuitées), une avait été retirée par la femme de chambre dès le lendemain (pourquoi ??) Bien que le stock ait été épuisé le 3ème jour, il m’a fallu aller réclamer un réassort. J’ajoute que la présence d’un après-shampooing serait appréciable.
Un transfert pour l’aéroport est proposé pour 25€/pers (tarif dégressif), pratique si l’on veut s’épargner de porter ses valises jusqu’au bus, mais cher compte tenu du fait que le trajet dure 10mn tout au plus.
Je n’ai pas pris le petit déjeuner et ne peux donc commenter cette prestation.
Un séjour agréable dans l’ensemble. À recommander

Positive experience with exceptional value for money.
PRO:
- Hosts: exceptionally hospitable, cute, and kind. They spoiled us with welcome drinks, candy, and even a bottle of local wine upon our departure.
-Rooms: recently renovated, minimal and modern, full equipped with a great terrace table and Chairs. Great views around.
- Location: 5 minutes walk from the balconies of Thira (reached by a slight climb).
- Hotel: simple, but not spartan. Clean. Equipped with amenities (pool, towels, air conditioning, hair dryer, safe, etc.).

Points of improvement:
-LOUD AC.Unfortunately, the hotel is located near a fairly busy street, so sleeping with open windows can be ANNOYING. On the other hand, the windows are very well insulated and brand new. If you close the windows noise from the outside disappeares but better not to use AC cause it is noisy too. We would suggest to fix this issue.
- BED: A point on which the hotel can definitely improve is the comfort of the bed: mattress is 'too rigid. A topper would be a great asset to make things better.

Despite this Anessis is a structure that I would recommend.
Owners are lovely and the place is quite good overall. We would visit. Again for sure.
