Very clean, convenient location

This place was spotless. It is no frills but we are budget travelers. The staff was very helpful. The only downside was that the location was noisy. I slept with earplugs at night to solve that.

Made to wait outside in sweltering heat

Hotel is quite good & comfortable but I did not appreciate when I was asked to wait outside in the heat for a long time when I had turned up early and early check-in was not possible. The least I expect from a hotel is to allow a wait at the Reception area. I was specifically told that I could not wait in the Reception area.

A small hotel with great staff and clean rooms(small bathroom). Walkable to the main tourist streets of Fira (10mins.) ; also on local bus route. Shops /cafes/ restaurants/food market 5:00min.walks.. I would definitely stay there again.

Awesome hotel with great and helpful staff. Close to everything.
We got in super early (8am) and decided to sit and relax by the pool until our quads had arrived and they came at 10 and we got into our room by 10:15!! (Check in wasn’t suppose to be until 2!)

My only conpliants would be its very noisey and the beds aren’t comfy (like at all..... - hard as rock)

Good location. Easy walk up to main drag and cable car and in the middle of the island to have easy access to everything else. Very clean but if the beds could be updated with higher, comfortable mattresses I would stay there again. They were lumpy, hard and small, typical of the smaller places we stayed at in Greece.

Very nice near fira centre

Bus stop right out from of hotel, super easy to get to via bus from airport. Nice strip of shops down the road easy to travel to. Plus a 10 minute walk to the centre of Fira, including bus terminal to go to anywhere in Santorini.
Hotel facility is very clean, nice option to lay by the pool if not wanting to visit a beach.
If you wake up early enough you can get a beautiful view of the sunrise too
Hotel staff are very friendly, always there to help if you need anything extra

Good, quiet hotel

Villa Ilios is conveniently located, short walk (10 mins) to Fira Bus Stand. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They gave us useful information about what to do while in Santorini and also gave us complimentary water bottles which was very nice of them. The room was clean, spacious and cosy. We had a great stay here and would highly recommend this quiet, family managed hotel. Didnt get a chance to use the pool but it looked perfect for unwinding after a adventurous day @ Santorini.

Good location

Nice little place. Stayed for a wedding where most of the other guests stayed in a massive over-priced resort around the corner (where you don't actually see the caldera unless you're stood on the main road). This place has a quiet pool area and is a 10-minute walk to the centre of Thira for about a fifth of the cost.

Standard Greek room. Pillow too hard but air con and fridge were really useful. Not for a family but then Santorini is not a family place. No breakfast but bakeries two minutes either side.

Villa Ilios was a great base for our trip to Santorini. Only. Short walk into Fira and close to restaurants and a supermarket. They have a beautiful pool which was great. The staff there were very helpful and arranged to urgently post us some items we left behind which was amazing!!

Great staff and great value

The family working the hotel were very friendly and willing to help. They accommodated us despite an early arrival, shared local wine with us and told us about its production. The pool was well kept and the mini-fridge in the room was a huge perk. There's also a really great, 24/7 bakery that is just a 3 minute walk up the street. The bus stop to pretty much every bus that goes around the island (except Oia) is just a 1 minute walk from the hotel.

Be warned

I booked online Villa Illios and got confirmation from Hotmail.com, but when I came there in September, I was told, that they did not receive my booking and have no rooms left. It was 7 pm and we had nowhere to go. After arguing I was proposed another hotel nearby of the same owner with lower rating ( (*) instead of (**) ) for the same price - they did find my booking when I showed the proof. First night was just sleepless, because air conditioner did not work, second night in a different room was OK. So, really I can't rate this hotel , because I did not stay at it, but there is no other way to submit a review and warn other people.

Nice family run budget hotel that was clean and comfortable. It was conveniently located about 10 minutes walk from the main centre but as it was located on a main road which caused some noise. Overall I would recommend it for a stay.

Decent hotel for the price

This hotel is pretty nice. Some language barriers with the staff, but it ended up working out. Decent location and short walk to main areas of Fira. Nice breakfast. Rooms are fairly comfortable though the shower is quite small, so may not work if you are a bigger person. Also the bathroom and part of the bedroom flooded after I took a shower on the second day. Decent hotel for the price.

Great location, so so reception

On the good side, this one is centrally located very close to the heart of Firas downtown and buses. Rooms were cleaned thoroughly each day and we got a lift back to the port of departure upon checkout.
On the not so good side, our check in was disappointing as we were initially given 2 singles instead of a double despite having made the reservation (which they resolved after we complained). Furthermore, upon our arrival on the island, the villa did not provide us a shuttle and we were stuck rambling for a lift. Lastly, it seemed like the reception did not want to be bothered by guests, and even left us waiting 30 minutes at the desk for checkout.
Overall, you do get what you pay for with this one and I would still recommend this villa to a friend.

Nice villa, very worth the money

The villa was clean; the pool very well maintained and the family running the villa was friendly. Contrary to other reviews, I found the bed extremely comfortable and getting out of bed was so hard every morning! However, don't expect hotel-standard service, it is a family-run villa so the service is very personal!

Amazing!

This hotel was amazing, especially for the price. The staff is friendly, the building is beautiful and very, very clean. I could not believe how nice this hotel was for the price I paid! It's a 10 minute walk from beautiful Fira and the bus station, with several restaurants and atv rental places along the way. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Santorini.

Only booked this for the day. Did not spend night as I stayed in OIA during my stay in the island. Since I was travelling with baby I needed a room for the day during visit to Fira.
It is not very close to bus station ..
Fair bit of walk and not easy with baggage and baby pushchair.

The Hotel looks from the photo absolutely super with clean pool and lounges and it has all those things but sadly it is right next to a very busy main road. At first having come from a much quieter island it was rather a shock! However our rooms were at the back and very quiet at night and we got used to it. The family running it were very kind and gave us refreshments. Considering it was only 10minutes walk from the Bus Station and 15minutes from the Centre it was extremely good value for the three nights four of us were there. In other words, you get what you pay for. Visit Imerovigli and Oia on the island and Kamari for excellent beach. Also the village of Firostefani. The Seagull taverna in Oia overlooking the blue domed church so famous on the postcards is good value and the views are wonderful.

Good value but out the action

This hotel was a last minute booking for us as we needed a hotel for only one night. The hotel itself was small and plain, clean and a little comfortable. However, you will want to check its location more closely than we did, as it is a good 10-15mins walk south of the Fira Bus Terminal. Its location is next to a main road and therefore fairly noisy with all traffic rushing by. We didn't bother trying out the pool as it was overlooked by all passersby and traffic, with very little privacy. If you want a basic hotel that offers a bed and isn't too pricey then this is the place for you.

very nice accomodations. the bed is hard.

I was very impressed on how the ladies who run this place keep it immaculate. They literally scrub the walls and floors in the morning and are super clean. A negative is that the breakfast is only bread, butter, jam and coffee with OJ. You will find the room to be clean and tidy though a bit small. The matresses are hard but functional.

Great value for money

Considering the cost Villa Illios is a great place to stay.
The rooms are clean and functioning. There is no kitchenette, but a fridge and ac included in the price.
The wifi does not reach to most rooms but can be accessed for free from the garden area.
The pool is good size and there are sunbeds and tables and chairs in the garden area. However the garden area is located just by the main road so a bit noisy.
Easy 15 min walk to centre of Fira. The bus to Kamari, Perissa and Akitori stops just outside the hotel. And there is a supermarket and a bakery 3 min down the road.

We did not try the breakfast, but they offered bread with honey and marmalade and coffee or tea to a reasonable price.

The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. And offered free shuttle service to the port.

Excellent place to stay if you want a budget option, if you want a really nice place in Fira you will have to pay three times the price at least.

Best place to stay on Santorini

This was my second stay at Villa Ilios. It’s still great! Ideally located between Fíra (the capital) and Kasterados, there are comfortable rooms with terraces, and a swimming pool! Eirini is incredibly friendly, helpful and fun to talk to!:-) There’s a bus stop closeby and parking is easy. Good value too!

Billig og greit

Helt greit og billig hotell cirka 10-12 minutters gange fra sentrum. Deilig svømmebasseng og hyggelig vertskap. Det eneste som kan trekke litt ned for enkelte er veien som går forbi hotellet kan støye litt på dagtid - men dette merket vi ikke så mye til etter 1 dag.

Kan godt komme tilbake til Villa Ilios

Helt greit og rimelig hotell. Gåturen til sentrum tar 10 minutter. Kafeer med frokost i nærheten (vi spiste ikke frokost på hotellet) , og minimarked kun 3 minutter unna. Hyggelig betjening og rent. Svømmebasseng et var kjærkomment og tiltalende, siden hotellet ligger et stykke fra stranden.

Λιτό, καθαρό και αξιοπρεπές ξενοδοχείο, πάνω στον κεντρικό δρόμο περίπου 15 λεπτά (1km) με τα πόδια από τα Φηρά. Οι οικοδεσπότες, ο Μανόλης και η Βαλάντω, ήταν πολύ φιλικοί και εξυπηρετικοί. Με θερμοκρασία στους 40 βαθμούς, η ύπαρξη πισίνας ήταν σωτήρια. Προτείνεται για όσους δεν τους ενδιαφέρει η θέα ή ο περιβάλλων χώρος.

Perfect for it's price.

We stayed for a week in Villa Ilios. It is approx. 10mins away from the Airport- but we took the taxi. We wanted to get the bus but the intervals of it's arrival is always 1hour, and waiting for that long is tiring (Beware of the taxi drivers- if you can get it cheaper- get it.). Vill Ilios is run by a family. The Family were nice and very accomodating. The place was always cleaned and for it's price - it's actually perfect. The Hotel is probably 10-15minutes walking distance from Fíra. And from there on is where you can get the main Bus. But nearby the hotel were also a bus top, shops, bakerys, resto, and even a supermarket. Well, you can find a mini market everywhere.

Point is, it is worth staying there. And you are near the center!

O hotel eh bem simples, mas limpo. Nao tinha agua quente no chuveiro... Funcionários rudes. E fica bem distante da praia. O que eh proximo eh apenas o centro de Thira, que eh bem pequeno e sem graça.

Proprietaria e famiglia molto disponibili. Camere piccole ma ben attrezzate. Posizione rispetto all'isola perfetta. Occorre affittare un motorino (ma questo vale per qualsiasi hotel).

Nous n'avons passé qu'une seule nuit dans cet hôtel (arrivée à minuit). Chambre propre. Petit déjeuner correct (4€). Proche de Fira.Arrêt de bus à proximité pour toutes les destinations. Seul bémol: le bruit de la circulation.

L'albergo non è assolutamente dove indicato su maps ma piu defilato dal centro.avevo una camera matrimoniale mi hanno dato due letti singoli dicendomi di arrangiarmi...dopo 3 giorni dopo la mia rimostranza mi hanno mostrato che è un errore di expedia...all'arrivo non sono venuti a prendermi all'aereporto,ma li ringrazio per il signore anziano che ci ha portato alle 7 di mattina alla partenza
