The rooms are dated and could definitely benefit from being updated. They are clean and the bed and bedding was good, but old lamp shades and cigarette burns in the seating of the room is not ideal and easily fixed.

The staff are great, very diligent, polite and professional.

Over all for the money paid I really cannot complain and despite the negative points I would stay there again.

No comments reviews of Camar Resort Langkawi . So many people complain about their charges for stain on towels I need to file a complaint towards the housekeeping and the receptionist, they have accused us on staining the towel without any valid reason and we are sure that we didn’t make any rusty stain on a hand towel. The receptionist seems like she doesn’t want to actually care about our rights on this. For us it feels like they just want our money. This is UNACCEPTABLE. and for that housekeeper who just makes this thing us is stupid and is such a nonsense.

Plus the water keeps on leaking from the bathroom, literally worst experience🙄 please return my back money and my rights

And by reading all those reviews seems like some customers have been facing the same problem by a random pic from the housekeeper and unbothered receptionist. Please do it better CAMAR. You have ruined my holiday seriously

Nice hotel with a very good pool. My main issue is the lack of decent air conditioning. This was manageable in the rooms as they also had large fans but completely inadequate in the fitness room. This was a glass room facing the sun for most of the day and the air conditioner barely put out any cold air leaving it a dangerous temperature to workout. It’s a good hotel in other aspects but if you want to use the gym during your stay choose somewhere else.

Another hotel where the reality is very different from the Expedia photos. Staff was very nice, but hotel wasn’t in the best condition. There was what looked like black mold growing around the base of the sink and toilet. The beach by the hotel has a sewage smell.

We really loved our four day stay at the Camar Resort. Our room was in the ground floor and opened up to the pool - amazing. The private beach was great and quiet. The breakfast was decent but not spectacular and I imagine we would have grown tired of the choices after more than 4 days. It was the low season so the resort was very quiet which was great for us. There were a number of awesome and really affordable restaurants around so you didn’t feel like you had to eat at the resort for every meal (although the food was quite good at the hotel). The service at the resort was top notch and I think that is what truly sets Camar apart from the others.

The facility is well maintained and cleaned. Beach is literally in front of the property and the view from beachside restaurant is pretty too. This area was quiet compared to pantai cenang area, so I recommend if you want to chill and relax at the beachside. Currently construction is ongoing next to this resort so sometimes got noise, but it didnt really bother us. Good stay!

We had an amazing 7 night stay at The Camar, the room was very comfortable and overlooked the great long pool, Breakfast was good, the staff were truly wonderful. The location is on a pretty beach on the edge of town, away from all the clamor but near enough for either a long walk or short taxi ride. The hotel run a scuttle service. There are pretty of restaurants and bars in the area. Would highly recommend

We stayed at the full ocean view room with a private balcony. Every morning we enjoyed the view from our room.
It has a big tub with ocean view.
Every staff gives you service here. They are all professional and speak English very well.

We didn’t like the pool area because there were many kids. water temperature was cold for me. Beach side was so peaceful and quiet. That’s exactly what we wanted.

Shower was good. They use a good lemon grass products for shampoo and body. They give you toothbrush and razor blade.

Breakfast was good. Many different Kind of food. Coffee was kind of weak for us. They make you craps, different style eggs, egg Benedict ..etc

We also tried the alun spa which was recommended by hotel. They provide a pickup/drop off service. We checked prices in 4 different places in town. Everybody charges same price. This place had a best set up. I would recommend that place. Hotel concierge will book an appointment for you.

I have no negative comment about this place. Only suggestion would be I wish beach wasn’t a little more cleaner.

Overall I highly recommend this place to people who want to have quiet and relax vacation.
We travel every month and visited many different places in Asia. Never had this kind of good deal. Very happy about it.

15mins from airport n grab costs myr14. Nothing much in that area. Resort ptovides free shuttle to cenang mall though we didn’t hv time to use it. We grab to every other place. Night market is a must visit! Resort bfast was excellent though no desserts like puffs n cakes. Mr Ganesan whom greeted us at bfast table was very hospitable! The beach is beautiful! Island hopping is a must! Nothing to shop around except their famous ointment. Reception counter was very welcoming as well! Will choose the same resort again.

Room was big and ours have part of the beach view. Rstnt was by the beach, so it was cool during breakfast or dinner.
Sunset by the beach was beautiful.
As we went during Ramadan, there’s no crowd. Had the pool all to ourselves. Weather was a bit hot, but you can chill off at Sun Spa just across the road.
You can walk to Pulau Cenang (beach street for food and souvenir) and The Zon (shopping) in the evening.
Staff were very friendly and will always greet when see guest.

The food is not so great which needs to improve, i did not like the breakfast buffet or the expensive lunch or dinner! Definately not worth it but again you could go into town and find cheaper meals that are so much enjoyable and filling.

We enjoyed our stay at Camar Resort, Langkawi. This is not a 5* hotel and this is reflected in the price, but also the service and standards. We were not disappointed as we chose to balance our budget with comfort and we got both. The beach is great, with soft white sand and is clean. The water is not so clean and when we were there was full of sea nettles and so we were unable to swim for very long.

The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We had a lovely view out to the beach and sea from the second floor. The service was good, and the rooms were cleaned daily and there was a turn-down service.

The food at the restaurant for breakfast and lunch was fine. Its not fine dining or world class cuisine, but it was tasty.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was you would expect. The location is really great and makes this a great place to stay.

I was their hotel guest in Jan 2019. The accident happened in the first morning during my hotel stay: on my way walking to the restaurant for breakfast, I slipped on the wet and slippery walking path on the grounds of their hotel property (see pictures) which was just made wet by the water sprinkler and there was no warning sign of \"slippery surface\" there. While I slipped, I hit my left arm against the sharp rocks at the pavement border at the hotel which are placed alongside of all their walking paths (see pictures). My left arm was deeply cut and left a wound of about 5cm long (see pictures). Because of such injury, the doctor of the private clinic nearby the hotel informed me that I cannot do any water sports and cannot wet my wound until it is fully recovered, and I also need to go back to the clinic to wash my wound daily for some period of time. I cannot even take a shower properly without the help of my husband due to the wound.
I reached out to the hotel management on the following day but they refused to provide any refund of my hotel booking or to cover any future medical expense related to this accidental injury happened at their hotel.
This hotel has placed SHARP rocks alongside all of their walking paths on the property grounds which is utterly dangerous. There are many guests with children who will, undoubtedly, fall and hurt themselves on these rocks in the future. Apparently, this hotel just doesn’t care even they received the complaint. BEWARE!

We spent 3 nights at the Camar resort and were upgraded to the pool view rooms where you step out of the back door and can enter the communal pool. Good breakfast selection, staff are very friendly and were always on hand to assist with a smile. Located towards the end of the beach but only a 20 minute walk to the main streets or a short taxi ride away. My only negative would be sleeping with the air con or fan on which seemed to be directly on your face full blast although might have been able to resolve had i asked. Overall I would recommend this resort.

My wife and I stayed at the Camar Resort fro 9 Dec 18 until 30 Dec 18 and had a fantastic holiday and stay here. We arrived mid afternoon and were in our room within 30 mins of arriving at the hotel. The staff without exception throughout the whole of our stay were the most friendly and helpful I have come across in 40 years of travelling. Our room was well designed, clean and spacious. The clean and comfortable bed/bedding. Housekeeping provided a first class service with the minibar/fridge being constantly restocked and the added bonus of chocolates being left for us each day. The swimming pool was large and very clean with brand new sun-beds and towels provided. The private beach was also lovely and once again had more than enough sunbeds for the numbers of guests. Staff went that extra mile by thoughtfully providing iced water throughout the day.The breakfast area also overlooks the beach and the menu was varied and provided a good selection for everyone's taste. It was rotated every other day too.The main shopping area (with duty free shops) is a leisurely 20 min walk away or a few minutes by taxi. Taxi fares were cheap and you should pay no more than 15 MR (£3) for a journey there. The front desk staff booked us taxis through UBER and they were even cheaper at 8 MR (£1.50!). There are many eating places and bars en-route with varying menus and prices (our favourite was Bobbies Bar) to suit all tastes.The Manager Mr Ganesan and his staff were a credit to the hotel. Excel

To improve the staff could start serving normal ketchup as default instead of chili ketchup and to improve overall experience and level of luxury they could benefit from having water sports gear available for free (such as kayaks and paddleboards etc.)

Amazing hotel on a fabulous quiet beach . Had a lagoon room which I would highly recommend it was amazing . Free drinks I mini bar daily including soft drinks . Staff very friendly and helpful. Only drawback is one of the managers reserves beds for people who are not staying in the hotel - for the Russians . This meant there were not enough beds for the people staying in the hotel . Restaurant needs to try and serve groups meals together and not a long time apart which happened . Food is excellent in the hotel though apart from delay . Would highly recommend the hotel . We had a relaxing, recharging and pleasant family holiday at Camar.

Friendly and helpful staff, in a clean and neatly kept environment, add on a good 70+m Long lap pool, with simple but thoughtful pamperings like iced water served each time we hit the pool & evening room servings of chocolates to wind down the day, n the good n varied daily breakfast menu that repeats every 3-4 days, we had a relaxing time for the 7 days spent there.

Rooms were spacious with good n clean comfortable beddings and linen, and well arranged too!

There’s a private beach too (just beside the cafe where breakfast is served), with deck chairs and towels readily available for use.

The main shopping belt in this area is around 20-30mins by foot, and just 5 mins by Grab. For non fussy eaters, there’re eating places at the hotel’s vicinity. There are 2 good eating places opposite the hotel - Cactus (for the budget conscious) n Yam Yam (if you’re willing to spend more on meals).

For good and very reasonably priced seafood, try Orchi Ria located at the abovesaid shopping belt of Tanjong Cenang.

For cheaper n yummy local fare, try the local eating place at Tomato Hotel, which is just a 10-15mins walk away.

All said, the hotel’s a very good stay if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing accomodation.

Relatively new resort with good value for money compared to most other Hotels in Langkawi. Free Minibar. Breakfast is good and maintenance on top of things. Huge pool good for swimming laps. Only drawback is that the gym heats up through large windows and feels rather like a Sauna. The Aircon in the Gym does not work or has no effect. Friendly staff. Nice beach with unfortunately a bit too much action for our taste (jetski and motorboat paraglider)

From the check in to check out, and everything in between was brilliant.

The swimming pool was most definitely a highlight, with a brilliant beach just a minute away from our room.

Amazing hotel!!

Everything about this hotel was amazing, we stayed there for 6 nights and had no issues. The hotel, staff and location were all great. I've stayed in quite a few hotels and have to say this was probably the best I've stayed in. Stayed here for my honeymoon and walked into the room with flowers and some petals on the bed which was a really sweet touch.

I only have two suggestions for the hotel:
Maybe install clothing rails on the balcony to allow guests to dry clothes outside. We hung ours on the balcony but as we were at the pool the wind blew my husband's shorts to the pool which was lucky as we were there to see it.
Also I feel charging 100 ringgit (just under £20) for the loss of a room card is a too high.

Apart from that I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The exterior of the hotel doesn't look so appealing however the hotel itself is okay. The room we had was on the 1st floor and it faces the pool.
Breakfast is by the beach which is a really nice view. However breakfast spread is rather limited.
Plus point is that just outside the gotel, there are 2 spa places as well as a couple of food places to eat.

Great family hotel

I took my parents to Langkawi for a short break whilst they visited me in KL. I had high expectations of the Camar Resort and these were certainly exceeded. Restaurant food is superb at excellent value for money. Finishing touches include truffles placed in room and complimentary mini bar including beer and soft drinks. Balcony was well appointed. Swimming pool excellent; fantastic sunset views from the beach. Grab transfer to/from airport is very inexpensive and quick. This is a 4 star plus hotel. Staff are outstanding and I shall definitely intend to stay here again.

Nice, clean and new hotel

- nice private beach
- friendly staff but only addressed my husband, never me
- very comfortable bed
- Nice big pool but pool bar was closed the whole time
- no hot running water except on last day
- water in shower flooded the floor outside it
- free daily mini-bar (non-alcoholic)
- Convenient location
- breakfast was chaotic, restaurant was too small to accommodate everyone

Camar Hotel was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The check-in staff were amazing can’t fault at all. Staff throughout the hotel were friendly and always there if you needed anything and knew you on first name basis. Ok yes we did have a problem with the alcohol on the first but on the next day the staff explained why and we were fine with it. Wishing the pool was open longer. Our room with a beach view was amazing no issues at all. The food was good for been in hotel. Staff recommending places to go to and eat. As this is only a new hotel would highly recommend and will definitely be staying again.

A wonderful stay!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Camar. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. The facility was clean and new and in great condition. Rooms were awesome - the complimentary mini bar was also a great plus. Spacious, beautiful, and certainly luxurious.

I loved how close it was to the beach and there were several restaurants nearby. The location in not near the hustle and bustle of the beach - which I really appreciated. Less peddlers and overall safer.
Cons:
The hotel lobby and grounds were smaller than I expected but sufficient. I did not think the quality of the breakfast food (particularly the breakfast meats) was very good.
It is not very safe and at night quite challenging to walk from the hotel lobby to the street. There is a long and winding road after the security check that is hotel property. It is not well lit, lots of trees. Cars cannot see you as they drive in and it is difficult to see where you are walking and what you are walking into. This seems to be the only way to the street where all of the restaurants are. A walking path and better lighting would do wonders.

Great place to stay, Private beach

Lovely short break at this resort. The staff were all very friendly, polite and welcoming. Good unlimited breakfast options with local a la carte and continental choices with a view of the beach. The resort was lovely and quiet as we visited during off season. The town centre of Cenang is walkable (around 30 minutes). Beach is lovely and clean, with lovely views of the hills and mountains, as well as neighbouring islands. We also went up to the Skybridge which offered incredible views of the island terrain.
The swimming pool is allegedly the longest and it was clean and well maintained.

The hotel opened in Mar 2018. The facility is very new indeed. Location is good for driver. It takes a short drive to central of Cenang. The food is the restaurant is below average in Malaysia.

To begin with, Pros..... everything.... Cons..... nothing. Its a newly constructed resort and there is nothing to complain about it. Reception staff receives you well on reaching there. Rooms are very neat and spacious. They recharge ur complimentary drinks everyday along with chocolates. Swimming pool is absolutely beautiful with a small one for kids as well. There is a lounge by the pool to have your favorite drinks. Complimentary breakfast is really tasty and good. They have plenty of varieties for breakfast. Restaurant offers wide range of cuisine. They arranged a candle light dinner by the beach for our anniversary which is much appreciated. Camar resorts also has its private beach which is an added advantage for people who love to stay away from the crowd. Overall, its been a pleasure staying there and we will definitely stay there for our next vacation.

Clean and all new facilities

Went there 2 nights and we book 2 rooms (connecting room) since i had my 2 kids and my parents with me. Staff at the reception are very welcoming. Helped us with the luggage and even park my car while i check in. We reached there quite late around 5pm and suprisingly one of the room are still not ready yet, eventhough their checkout time at 11.00. The room with the king size bed was quite small i think maybe due to the bed that was in the middle of the room compare to the twin room look more spacious. Kids love the pool and they spend most time there and beach are clean as well. Breakfast served at the restaurant by the beach with a nice view. Eventhough the breakfast spread are limited they do have ala carte menu that was part of the package. Location quite near to Cenang beach about 5 mins drive. You can walk opposite the hotel where theres alot of restaurant you can go for food.

Brand New Hotel

This hotel is brand new and still finishing the final items of construction. It was quiet do to how new it is. The staff were excellent and met all of our requests. It is a great place to stay right on the ocean. I expect the price will go up significantly for this resort once it is fully open. Great value right now!
