Staff were very polite, friendly and professional. Breakfast was very good and dining/room service was good as well. The lady that did the activities booking was very knowledgeable and helpful.
It would have been very good if the facilities in the rooms had been checked before guests check-in as we had to get maintenance to fix toilet flush and broken lamps etc. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.

Frangipani remains a relaxing choice on Langkawi. A little tired in places but still green and spacious with direct access to a long patch of quiet beach. Good breakfast 50 rm . Immediate locality is disappointing several sites along road derelict post COVID and fewer local eateries but hotel itself remains well run

RACIST RESORT: DON'T BOOK IF YOU ARE FROM INDIA

This is not a good resort, especially if you have kids. I am compelled to give this review as the staff was highly RACIST!! Few things to highlight:

1. I requested a king-sized bed two months in advance during my booking. I mentioned that I have a 3years old kid, but they gave me two separate beds; My little one was compelled to sleep in between the joining beds. When I asked them that I requested this, they said that the king size was subject to availability. We booked two months in advance with a special note, wondering what is subject to availability.

2. When my wife requested the chef to cook baby food in the kitchen, the guy said he was busy. My wife literally cried because of this!

3. The housekeeping staff is sleeping. They will clean only the visible area in the room, not even moving a suitcase or, for that matter, a slipper. They will also not arrange the bedding. I was doing that myself every day.

4. When you go to the restaurant, the waiter will avoid eye contact, showing they are busy. So you have to go to them and REQUEST them to take the food order. Then they will come after 15 mins with Menu. A simple lunch took our precious 2.5 hours of vacation time!

5. You ask for a sugar sachet or anything to be delivered to the room, which will take 1 hour.

Literally, everyone is sleeping here. They are friendly towards WESTERN tourists and biased towards Asians, especially India and surrounding countries.

I strongly advise any Indian family to don't book a room h

I liked that the property was eco friendly, and it's right on a beautiful beach. Can't be beaten. The amenities were somewhat lacking, no beach towels. The pool bar isn't open til noon, no coffee , no soft drinks. There were problem with my room and my daughter's room. The worse was that my daughter's room had an odor that they couldn't get rid of.

Our 2nd time staying there. Accomodation, service, food was as good as ever. Resort was lovely as it was quiet and private.
Some suggestions for improvement
A) resort to provide electrical mosquito repellent as using insecticide spray (provided) or mosquito coil (self bought) will give the room a smell
Resort can even issue to guests when checking in and guests need to return when checking out to prevent unneccessary lost as it can be costly
B) more variety on the menu including breakfast buffet. Food was delicious but limited choices/range
C) better in house entertainment especially for rainy days as guests may not be able to go out. Eg more tv channels or better quality of tv reception. This will serve families better

Really enjoyed our returning stay and would love to visit again.
Have even recommended the resort to friends.
Worried that such a unique and lovely resort will lose out if no improvements made bearing in mind the neighboring developments

Very nice eco resort located at a beautiful sandy beach. We had one of the largest rooms which had two large double beds for the four of us. Great for families. Only disappointment was the limited choice for breakfast. Would be great with some Nutella , pastries and more choice of fruit than water melon. Also the lunch or dinner menu is quite limited. But then again you have many options a short ride from the hotel.

Basic but nice

The place is huge and right on the beach with two pools.
The villa was large with a big bed, air con and a fan. There was an inside bath and outside shower.
Walking distance to restaurants: Rockerfellas, Lot 33 and Hidden were all good.
The bath water was orange, even when we let it run for a while. We weren’t told about the facilities so discovered them for ourselves.
When checking in, you pay 3 RM per night and 100 RM deposit - cash only. Check in is 3 pm and check out is 12 pm.

Excellent value for money. The location is the key thing here. Not many hotels are actually on the beach here and this one pretty much has its own private part of it. The resort is in a fantastic location. Yes, it is a bit dated but this is what gives it its charm. The staff cant do enough for you and they were all very welcoming, special praise to all the girls and boys at the main bar. The setting of the resort and their passion to look after and maintain their environment is an example to us all. You will enjoy your stay here more than in the neighbouring new builds around the area that are a little soulless.

An older-style property with individual cottages for rooms was a nice change.The outdoor shower, too.

A complete absence of hand towels and face clothes in the bathroom was a negative. It's hard to dry your hands on a bath towel after using the toilet and washing them.

One bar and one restaurant serving a great breakfast buffet and generally good international cuisine for lunch and supper are on site. A few yards down the driveway lies a vast array of options off property.

One more thing. Fantastic sunsets!

Amazing organic farm, the property uses amazing wetlands to clean up the waste of the hotel has organic herb garden and uses amazing techniques to use left over food from the hotel and community to produces fertiliser. The Resort is new and rooms comfortable but appear to be a bit cramped in space for so many rooms

The location is not that great as its off main beach area though the hotel has a beach like a private beach

The breakfast was basic but the fruits did not taste fresh... The watermelon n Pineapple tasted as if they were cut and kept in the fridge from earlier.

Overall probably a 2.5 to 3 on 5 nothing too great comparing the positives n negatives

The property is quite well maintained. The furniture is a bit dated, but is still comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food is tasty; I wish there were more local food choices and more variety of fresh fruits, but I was pleased with the overall food menu. To name a few of my favorites, I have to mention the orange and the coconut jam, the green guava juice and the chicken curry. The hotel is conveniently located, within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The cleaning crew is very efficient and extremely polite. The staff in the front desk is very helpful and go out of their way to make sure the guests have all they need. The bar & restaurant staff is very friendly and warm. I would stay there again and highly recommend this property.

Fantastic beach front right Infront of at our villa which is huge.
Lots of trees and named botanical plants.
Interesting wild life, monkey, komodo dragon, eagle, owl, mini crabs and hermit crabs... and variety of fish you can find right at the shore including puffer fish.
Great breakfast and dinner seating with beautiful sun set view.
And the super friendly staff.

Just checked out few hours ago. We had encounter with roaches, spiders and ants. Posted some picture below.

Only pro for this resort is that is is by the beach. But the bathroom is faulty and needs an update, they only gave two towels and no face towels. AC was split AC which really did not work up to 100 percent. There was no light outside our villa. Unfortunately, we paid for three nights and it wasn’t refundable, otherwise we hadn’t stayed. Isn’t worth $200 a night. Oh the check in was an hour long process as they don’t have people working in reservation after 8pm. The breakfast selection is also poor with very few selection.

Frangipani is a stunningly beautiful resort! Aesthetically designed with a unique 'Plant Adoption' scheme that not only makes it one of the most beautiful resorts on the island but also serves a purpose attracting bees and a wonderful variety of birds and wildlife. We saw White Bellied Sea Eagles nesting in the tree next to our beach house, Hornbills, Kingfishers, Myna birds and many more species - Frangipani quite rightly calls itself the Greenest Resort in Malaysia - by a long way!
Every aspect of running the resort considers the environment from the naturally lit and airy entrance lobby/reception area to the composting of waste food and re-using rainwater for the loos. We loved that Frangipani recycles literally everything, plastic, cans, glass, paper and any food waste is totally composted or fed to the ducks and chickens. Grey water is managed and cleaned by natural methods using plants and trees to clean the water so literally none of it seeps into the environment - and it doesn't smell at all! There are Eco Walks every day to explain the environmental systems.
Even if green credentials aren't a consideration, this is a wonderful place to stay - the rooms are a little old fashioned but they are spotlessly clean and the staff are incredibly conscientious, helpful, polite and friendly. The food is very good, we had a few excellent evening meals here and though we aren't breakfast people the choice seemed to cater for every taste be it Asian, European or British!

Firangipani :: A Good Resort

Firangipani is a good option in langkawi within mid range. Other options can be too costly.

It has a nice private property with 2 swimming pools. It's near cenang beach, where Indian vegetarian food options are available. Mumbai Palace restaurant is one of the good restaurants.

Needs an update

The beach side setting is great. Breakfast and dinner watching the sun brilliant. The hotel is however not what it appears to have been two or three years ago. Tired I would say covers it. People we spoke with who had been before confirmed that this was the case. My biggest complaint is that I emailed the day before we were due to arrive asking for a taxi to be arranged to collect us from the port. The reply I received was that they needed seven days notice to do this! Quite unbelievable considering that they were able to summon up taxis within minutes during our stay.
The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The lady organising trips was especially so.

Comfortable, casual resort-style accommodation

This hotel is located in a great location. It is only about a 15-20 minute taxi ride from Langkawi airport and a 10-15 minute walk away from the main Cenang area. There are quite a few good local eateries nearby the hotel too.

The main plusses of the Frangipani are 1) location (it is situated in a peaceful/quiet/semi-secluded spot but still within walking distance of the busy Cenang strip), 2) the semi-private beach (with a handy jellyfish net that does a pretty good job of keeping out the little critters during jellyfish season), 3) well-maintained gardens and comfortable surroundings and 4) rather generous buffet breakfasts. The staff we encountered at the Frangipani were all extremely friendly and courteous.

If you're looking for a clean, casual, comfortable, no-frills resort in a good location with a quiet beach then you can't go too far wrong with the Frangipani.

cons: disappointing experience. Don't have most of the necessary amenities. Didn't abide to their timings in regard to swimming pool. Always heard \"NO\", even if you ask for ice. Housekeeping didn't bother to change towels, had to request them again. Even basic stuff is not done right. I will never return and will never recommend to anyone. Certainly not a 3 or 4 star hotel.

This was my second stay at this resort. I chose a sea view villa this time instead of a garden view and was disappointed with the view. We had a sliver of the see between two villas that were actually sea view. To me there was not enough difference between this villa and a garden view to justify the additional charge. The beach , pool , restaurant and bar areas are nice and the service there is good. Overall it's a very nice place to relax and very laid back. I always enjoy the musicians that entertain in the evening, they interact well with the guests. The front desk staff could be a little more efficient on checking in and out.

Very pleasant resort, room was very good, but the level of service was terrible.
The staff were not trained. Could not get served in the bar, even though I was the only customer, the 3 staff were gossiping together and ignored their customer. When I finally got served the waitress didn't even know what white wine was!
They tried to charge me extra for the use of a wine bucket.
Restaurant staff were the same, breakfast \"chef\" didn't know how to poach an egg!!
and one station was closed because the chef didn't show up for work.
Room cleaning service was very good.

Given check in time was 3pm and we arrived 3.30pm we still had a long wait to get into a room. We had booked a deluxe room with double bed. We got to single beds individually made with sides tucked in, so no chance of holding partner in bed. We have encountered to singles pushed together previously but in those instances they used large sheets and covers to make it appear as one bed.

A lot of mosquitoes and no control exercised by management so they were everywhere.

Expressed my dissatisfaction and management didn't acknowledge or even say sorry.

Great villa resort

Our 3rd time in Langkawi and whereas in previous years we stayed to the north of the main drag we thought it was getting over developed and so chose to go to the south, this was a wise decision as a lot of roadworks are taking place along the northern part of the main road.
The hotel has a mix of villas and rooms, pools, restaurant, bar, all as described on the hotel website, all good.
We stayed 25 nights in a villa and while there was good breakfast variety, nicely cooked, it got boring towards the end, this is not a problem with the hotel, we normally stay 25 days to a month on holiday and we allways get bored with the hotel breakfasts which is why we generally eat our main meals externally.
The invitations to a cocktail party were nice, the manager and department heads chatted, asked if there were any problems, arranged a late room departure for our last day and seemed interested in our comments, a very good idea!
Bar prices fine, bar, breakfast and reception staff very good and attentive, eco-walk interesting. Wi-fi now installed, strong signal and fast!
Summary - Great holiday, just too short (they allways are), we hope to return to Langkawi and Frangipani will be our first choice of hotel.

The room size is big, we asked for a king size bed but was given a room with 2 super single size bed combined into a \"super king size bed\". It was comfy, nothing to complain about.

However, there are some stains on the bed cover. The room is very clean with outdoor shower which is quite an unique experience. The facilities in the hotel includes pool and Jacuzzi which is quite well maintained.
The resort is about 10mins ride from the town area. But there are some restaurants near the resort which offers vegetarian dishes(Indian vegetarian food).

The only down side is that the resort only have wifi at the lounge area and in the restaurant. There are no wifi in the room (was misled by hotels.com about this). And if you want to use the handphone in the lounge area, be sure to bring mosquitoe repellent.

Overall, if you just want to look for a quiet place and don't mind about not able to use the internet so often. It will be a good choice.

Just to add on, the airport transfer to the resort is 70 ringgits per couple. But you can save some money by taking taxi from the airport which cost only 22 ringgits for about 20minutes ride.

Hotel in good position to beach and lots of good resturant switching walking distance.
Hotel staff, friendly and polite, but not always working efficiently.
At the hotel bar there were 4 employees working, no other customers apart from ourselves, it took 5 minutes for anyone to walk to our table.
After ordering a sandwich it took a further 15 minutes to come. We darn,t ask for any sauces as we would have finished the sandwich by the time they had come

Stay here for a peaceful, unforgettable holiday!

This is a beautiful hotel. The location is stunning. It forces you to abandon all plans of roaming around those cute little cafes and restaurants you see when coming in from the airport! We did that! And if you do want to step out for a meal, say for dinner, it's about a 10 to 15 minutes walk to those busy streets, depending on far you want to go from the hotel. Would like them to add a dish or two in their menu, and make an effort to have one or two signature dishes we must not miss out on.

Close to Night Markets and Restaurants.

The hotel is in a good location. Close to the beach, night markets and restaurants. Approx 10 mins walk to the Night Markets or 5mins by taxi (10 RM). Outside the main entrance of the hotel is an Indian Restaurant. It was decent food. There is many Indian restaurant located within the Night Market which I found to be better. Two main shopping mall is approx. 30 mins by taxi. Taxi is the only public transport to get around the island or you can hire a car / motorbike etc. There isn't much in the shopping mall. Found it to be boring.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were decent size and clean. They don't have wifi in the room. You have to go to the lobby to use the free wifi which was pain.
Breakfast was good. However when it rained, it was hard to find seating under cover. More seating is required.
Pool was nice. Enjoyed the salt pool. Umbrella was provided when it rain which was needed.

Nice layout perfect location good facilities.

Perfect for a relaxing holiday just lying on the deck chairs occasionally going in the sea for a dip with food & drinks readily available. Breakfast was the best, a good spread to please everyone and a good way to start the day.

The hotel is OK. 3.5, maybe 4 stars. The service is really good. The area is comfortable and great for a beach holiday. For a little more money you could probably get twice the hotel. Close to the town, so you can get massage a lot cheaper and dining is OK too. The hotel bar is around 2/5, nothing memorable. All around we did enjoy the stay even though the hotel is average on its condition, since the service makes up for it.

Fab hotel close to beach

Would choose a detached villa next time as lots of Asian people with children who just shouted and screamed and ran around at 7 in the morning!!! The food in the restaurant in the evening was just okay nothing special. But the staff more than made up for it with their very attentive & friendly manner.

its was our honeymoon, it was sooooo cooooool we enjoyed alot and we recommend everyone to visit.. and i would thanks the manager of the travel agecy inside the resort (the indian lady) she was so helpful and made for us fantastic trips .....

Needs a LOT of TLC and better staff training

Stayed before. Needs a little attention. Some staff are great. Most are indifferent. Breakfast adequate. Food slow to be replenished, empty plates left on table. Younger staff standing around chatting. Had to pick up our own cutlery and place settings. Had to call for room to be cleaned on day as it was still not done at 5pm. Asked for a delayed check-out till 1pm from 12 noon. Flatly refused as said hotel was full. When checking out, they allowed someone else to delay till 1pm. When confronted the Front Office Manager, she flatly denied it until her colleague told her that she had agreed to it in Malay, thinking I didn't understand them.

Asked for recommendation to a spa...staff didn't know any. Just said there are lots out there just pick one. When asked if on site spa had special rates for guests was told no as run by third party. When tried to call three times, no one picked up.

Towels kept running out at the second pool as no pool attendant. Had to request towels a number of times and had to walk to the other pool to get some. Pool opens at 08.00. No towels available even at 08.45.

The friendliest people were the security guards who not only had to replenish towels but collect breakfast vouchers. At least they had a smile and wished guests.

The hotel rooms can be more maintaining. TV has bad received, not clear picture. Restaurant and breakfast services are partly not quite compitant. Apart from these, services all over are friendly. Nice to see the guards walking around whole day and night.
Good place for families holidays.

Pretty & peaceful

Relaxing, laid back & peaceful resort.
Excellent views & really close to beach - only 1 minute walk.
However, bathrooms could do with updating & should have better ventilation or AC.
Outdoor shower is amazing & a really good feature.

AC machines in room weren't very powerful & the ceiling fans seem old. They were very noisy & quite a nuisance.

Wifi is poor & not accessible in rooms.
Restaurant service was poor & very slow. Got orders wrong.

Overall, the hotel offers a beautiful private beach , stunning views, good size rooms & a relaxed atmosphere.
