We stayed at Livia Garden hotel, upgraded from Livia hotel. Room was very clean, staff were very helpful and the breakfast was fresh Turkish breakfast and was good. Recommend this hotel if you are visiting Izmir, convenient for visiting Ephesus, Mary’s home, St John Basilica and archeological museum

We had such a great stay here! From the moment we got there the host was outstanding. He saved us so much time and asked us how many days we planned to be there and created an amazing itinerary for us. There are two separate locations that are right down the street from each other. The neighborhood is so much fun and it's so hard to believe all the history that's around us! Our room is fantastic and very nice. The next morning we had such a great stay and the breakfast just put it over the edge! It was fantastic! We definitely plan to come back and had such a great time.

taxi driver took me to Livia Hotel where I had booked a large 'quadruple family room with patio and garden view...an employee took me a few blocks away to the Livia Garden Hotel where I met the owner/manager who tried to put me in a hot tiny second floor room and offered no compensation for the room switch.....it got ugly and I had to get testy about staying in the type of room I had booked....I was taken back to the Livia Hotel and was told that renovations were ongoing...the hotel was not in active use and I would have to walk to the the Garden hotel for breakfast....I stayed in the quadruple room for 2 nights while visiting Selcuk and the Ephesus ruins...never saw another soul...never went to breakfast because I overslept one day and left too early the next...as far as the room goes I would stay here again....and there is also the less than transparent owner/manager- so- maybe not..

It's a boutique hotel that prides in its friendliness and service. It did provide great service. The breakfast is awesome. All the ingredients are made in-house. It is very convenient and in walking distance of many area attractions. The only consideration that people may not like is \"it's not a big name chain hotel\".

Our hotel was switched from to Livia Garden Istanbul. The staff did everything possible to insure a pleasant stay, and everyone was friendly and accommodating; however, the roads were in horrible condition, and the potential for vehicle damage was great. We should have been warned.

This hotel is very cute and it has a lot of friendly staffs. It is close to the bus station and some restaurants so this place is very recommended! The best part of staying in this hotel is the breakfast and Erdem! They serve homemade style breakfast in the morning which is very delicious!! The garden was an oasis. Lavender, olive trees, lime trees, flowers. The pool was perfect to recover from miles of walking through ancient ruins easily accessed from the property. The rooms luxurious. The staff friendly and helpful. I would expect to pay 10 times as much for the equivalent in the USA and still feel like it was a bargain. Stay here. Period.

We had a really fantastic stay here, the best that we've had in Turkey. I would recommend staying at least a few days here. The hospitality was top notch, breakfast was superb and facilities were clean, beautiful and so relaxing. It's also close to everything you'll want to see. We got excellent recommendations from the hotel for what to do and see. My only regret is that we didn't spend more time here. You won't be disappointed with your stay.

We had a pleasant stay at the Livia Garden Hotel. The location is beautiful and easy to walk through. There is also free street parking if you have a rental vehicle. The hotel owner, Erdem, showed us hospitality by providing us a free upgrade to a luxurious room. In the room we stayed, it contained a king size bed, a traditional indoor turkish balcony, and a huge shower. We took quick showers because the water temperature kept changing. The rooms were superb and clean. The area was traditionally furnished with some elegant tastes. Erdem was fantastic when it came to giving out tourist tips around the area. He even offered us a map that was easy to navigate throughout the area. Breakfast was included, but dinner was priced in Euros. The food was delicious all around. We will definitely come back!

A truly pleasant place to stay in Selcuk! The location was incredible ... and the host was even more superb! We were greeted with a refreshing drink and fresh fruit. He was extremely friendly and helpful with information about Selcuk - as well as secured a private driver and return airport service for us. The rooms are absolutely beautiful ... and the breakfast? ONE OF OUR FAVORITE BOUTIQUE HOTELS -IMPECCABLE!!!

We were really pleasantly surprised with the hidden gem of a hotel called Livia Garden. Erdam greeted us with a welcome drink, and took us to our lovely, beautifully interior decorated room. His smile and energy alone was enough to make us happy with our stay. When entering the hotel, the slightly floral, fresh scent similar to one you would find in the top 5 star hotels subtly filled the air. The room had beautiful light fixtures, bedding on a very comfortable bed, and nice sitting area to enjoy the sunset. There was so much attention to detail in every aspect of our stay. When we entered and exited the hallway, the ceiling lights clicked on one by one to lead the way. We decided to have dinner at the hotel and again, we were pleasantly surprised with such hospitable and friendly attitude of all of the staff at the restaurant as well. You could feel their joy for the hotel and it may us feel even more joy to be there ourselves. The fantastic food was beautifully prepared with a lovely presentation, and such perfect combinations of food that we had not tried before. The courtyard was so cozy with adorable light fixtures and nice music by the pool. Breakfast was more of the same with a massive Turkish breakfast with the best eggs and sujuk I have ever had. Erdam’s warm and pleasant personality almost made us feel that we were visiting family and friends at Livia Garden.
I would say that a trip to Ephesus wouldn’t be complete with at least one night at this hotel.

Great location, modern feel, and amazing staff.

Just a 5 minute walk to town and also a few minutes away from the Ephesus Museum, very quiet area so sleep was great.

Shower was amazing, and bed very comfortable. Very clean and modern place. Do not skip the breakfast, it was amazing. A huge spread of homemade food and the staff just kept insisting to feed me more.

Staff was above and beyond. I came in on a rainy night, and the person that checked me in got my luggage from the car and help park my car while be soaking wet himself. Then do not skip breakfast, some of the freshest food I've ever tasted. Probably the best breakfast I had on my entire trip. The staff Erdem, kept feeding me more, even though there was so much food already. He was also very understanding (since it was low season) if I could have a later checkout because my flight was later, and was very accommodating.

I thing to note is the wifi was not too fast in my room, ~1mbs.

I definitely recommend this place and would gladly stay here again.

The staff of the hotel were the highlight. They were incredibly friendly, helpful and cheerful. The property itself was very nice and well kept. The garden room I stayed in was comfortable and clean and had a shared patio with table and chairs. The hoel was close to the train and bus stations as well as many great cafes and restaurants. A huge plus was the amazing breakfast. I had a very pleasant stay and I would definitely return.

This is one of the best hotels I ever stay in. Most noticeably, the staff members are all so friendly and helpful and they go above and beyond to help the guests. For example, one morning, they started the breakfast early just for us since we wanted to visit the ancient site by the opening time to avoid crowds. They also offer complimentary tea/cookie and welcome plates. By the way the breakfast is a feast! The location is most ideal and very close (~ 5 minutes walking) to the dolmus terminal from where you can reach all surrounding attractions with a few TL . It is next door to the archeological museum and the St. John Basilica and about ten minutes walking to the train/metro station (from where you can go to the airport and Izmir and the fare is again merely a few TL). The room is clean and well decorated. Everything functions well including air conditioning. The hotel is also very quiet, albeit in a central location.

Hotel is located near to Basilica of St John, we drove so it’s 10-15 mins ride to the Ephesus ancient city. Room is spacious, clean and the bed is super comfortable! They served the traditional Turkish breakfast which is delicious! Last but not least, one of the owner Edams is so friendly and helpful, his genuine hospitality made our stay enjoyable! Book it and you will not regret! :)

it was in one word- amazing.

Mett- the evening host was helpful & knowledgable. We checked in late at night and helped us with our accom arrangement. He even made tea and shared with us history of the place over tea.

The morning breakfast is to die for. trust me when i say they cook up the best michelin star eggs. I have a bad memory and can't remember name of the morning host off hand, but he made our stay a memorable one with the sumptuous breakfast spread. Apart from the eggs mentioned above, the apricots, vegetables & fruits were very fresh.

There is a saying in Sanskrit that says treat visitors like Gods. Livia hotel goes above and beyond. The hospitality is just out of this world. We got greeted with a hot cup of tea and a nice big smile. All of the hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful. The most amazing part was really the breakfast - with most (almost all!!!) of the items homemade, it was one of the best breakfasts we have ever had in Turkey - trust me, we have had breakfast in some really good places all over Turkey. If I had the authority to give a Michelin’s 5 star rating, I certainly would do it. The hospitality goes above and beyond, the host was so helpful that he helped us get our breakfast early morning at 545 am with an amazing spread and when we couldn’t get the taxi to the train station, he helped us walk all the way to the station.
We enjoyed the experience and will certainly plan another visit, if not for anything else, just to stay at Livia and meet our hosts again.
Keep up the great work!

A wonderful hotel in old Selcuk

A family run hotel is tucked away in old Selcuk, a short walk from the town centre, shops, restaurants, bus station & the Ephesus Musuem. The train station is close by, across the town centre. Local restaurants offer a number of cuisines in addition to Turkish and met a range of budgets. We stayed for four nights, taking in arranged tours but also taking time just strolling around the town itself and viewing the historic monuments and features. Other guests stayed for one or two nights as part of wider tours of Turkey. The Wednesday and (larger) Saturday market are worth a visit if just to browse.

The staff were all helpful and attentive, organising our tour trips and transfers (these can also be managed by yourself online or at agencies in the town). The breakfast available was exceptional, and I attach a photo of the breakfast provided for two people. The food was prepared using home grown and local fresh produce and was delicious.

Our room was well furnished, with modern fittings and plumbing, adequate power, AC, TV and internet. The rooms have themes based (loosely?) on local history. The room opened out on to a tiled patio amd small garden area. Traffic noise from the main road through Selcuk was audible at times but not intrusive. Calls to prayer at local mosques were heard briefly through the day but again were not intrusive; merely a part of the town environment.

The hotel hasa 24 hour porter / gate service, we would stay there again.

The Livia Hotel was a dream to stay at. From the moment we walked in we were greeted like royalty, seated in a beautiful courtyard and offered drinks while the incredible owners quickly checked us in. The rooms were immaculate and beautifully designed and decorated, the grounds were filled with flowers, trees and greenery. The quiet location was perfect, close to restaurants and the museum. We couldn’t recommend this hotel and its friendly, helpful owners more highly.

Excellent boutique hotel. Memorable stay!

This hotel is amazing! Good location, comfortable and tastefully designed rooms. Breakfast was outstanding. Customer experience is tops- best in Turkey. Thanks Adnan, Ali and especially Okia (sorry if I spelt your names wrongly). We had probs with our car rental company and Okia came to our rescue. Thanks so much we had a fantastic stay at your hotel, will be back when we travel to Turkey. Love the fresh limon tea!

Loved this hotel and I would highly recommend. If the hotel gets 5 stars, then the staff get 6! Beautifully appointed , fab decorations, great location and outstanding breakfast . Staff cannot do enough for you. Thank you for everything and we look forward to returning soon! Joaquin & Ana Bell
