We enjoyed our stay. The food is really good quality and the staff in the dining team work hard to ensure the area is kept clean. The pool area and bar were very nice. The room we stayed in whilst functional could do with some modernising and a refresh.

Less expensive option with nice view of the ocean

Dubrovnik is probably one of the most expensive place in Croatia. Parking near the city is outrageous. I wanted stay in roomier place. This hotel has Breakfast and Dinner included with inexpensive parking. We took Uber to the old town Dubrovnik (only $10) much cheaper and easier than finding parking there. Our room had nice balcony facing the ocean, and much roomier than other places that we been staying so it was nice.

Great hotel with great facilities. It is a bit tired and rooms and bathrooms are quite small. Maro world is great for kids , just for hotel guestes. Swimming pool was nice with great views and pool bar with delicious pizza ! Food was very nice , you have to pay for drinks during dinner time and they were quite expensive. We had a lovely time

Fantastic stop at Sunny Dubrovnik. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly, the location is fantastic. There is a lovely coastal walk pretty much from the hotel. A beach at the back door with clear waters. Yes it might be a family hotel, but we travelled as a couple and had a great time there.

So called superior room was very very basic, and extremely small. I’d recommend upgrading to a sea view.

We had a wonderful view of the harbour. Our room was fine, although no fridge or tea/coffee making facilities. The outdoor facilities were very good. However, the hotel’s only dinner offering was a smorgasbord and was totally inedible.

Hotel was big, clean and had a nice view. Staff friendly and helpful. The downside noisy, limited sitting area at the lobby. The pool is nice, big but very noisy and lots of children. There is no space to swim. Food is good, coffee was very bad. Dinner time no drinks you will need to purchase water for 5 Euros a bottle. Overall great hotel for families with young children not for adults

Everything is good for the value what I paid for summer July . Very clean hotel and convenient.
Near to beach . Swimming pool was nice .

Few points if they can improve then will be 10 out of 10 . The room should have fridge in this hot weather so we can keep our drinks cool all the time .
Also for evening meal that included in price should provide at least soft drinks & juice for free .

Our stay was pleasant and suited our needs. The hotel was clean and tidy, as were our rooms. The food in the hotel restaurant is actually incredibly good - and should be tried to be believed.

The only downside was Dubrovnik's prices in general - rather than the specific hotel prices. Eating out is very expensive, and that includes drinks at the hotel restaurant and mini-bar in the reception. Extortionate prices for what's on offer - but you pay for convenience.

The hotel staff were overall friendly, however, we did have multiple occasions where we found bar staff rude and dismissive in the hotel.

Very nice mostly family orientated hotel with beautiful paths connecting to the other sister hotels. In the heart of Lapad and an easy and cheap uber ride to old town. Nice beach and pool. Kind staff and a really lovely room setup for our anniversary thank you! We had such a lovely time.

A bit weird to charge for pool towels per day without even providing one for free but only a small charge. Plenty of vegetarian options and food labelled clearly. Not even water is included for dinner- there could be a tap to at least take tap water.

I booked two rooms - one with a sea view and one with nature view. The sea view room was beautiful, renovated and very comfortable, with a sofa and a nice balcony. The other one not so much, it was dated (not yet renovated) with older furniture and a balcony with the reception area view. Overall, we really liked the restaurant, the pool, the beach and the surroundings. Wifi worked good in all areas. It would have been nice to have a fridge in the room.

Could not even stay at this hotel, had to book another hotel upon arrival. The pictures in expedia are COMPLETELY different from what the hotel actually looks like. There are stray cats resting in the hotel installations. Upon arrival, the building clearly lacked maintenance and cleanliness. When they showed us the room it was completely different from the pictures shown in expedia. There was mold in the room and the room smelled horribly. You could hear every single noise outside. There were hairs in the bathroom, the sheets felt sticky so we decided to leave. Could not even imagine spending a night there. We even started having allergic reactions. The hotel even charged me one night and I did not even stay a single night, I checked in at 1 pm and was leaving by 3 pm on that same day because I reported the issues and was only given until 6 pm to find another hotel. Certainly not worth $220 a night. If you ask me a night at this hotel should be worth than $100.

Expedia took 72 hours in actually helping me out.

I will definitely be returning to this hotel, it is marked as a 3 star, but honestly you will feel as though you’re in a 4 star hotel. Amazing facilities, staff are amazing (I cannot fault anyone, so thank you all - especially the 2 gents in the evenings, they were super helpful and friendly, I sadly didn’t get their names but they were working on Tues&Wed night this week). Thanks team collectively you did an awesome job!

Valamar was just perfect for us. The view from our balcony was not great but we hardly spent much time in the room to make it an issue. The hotel staff are very helpful and polite. A special thanks to Karmen at reception for trying to get us a room with a better view but they were not better than what we had been given so stuck with the room we got. The room was adequate & clean. Shower was brilliant. Towels were clean but were tearing and disintegrating as we were using them. Water leaked from the shower into the bathroom floor. It was a nuisance but managed around it. Bed was fine but the pillows provided were far too soft and did not provide support for neck. The Hotel is situated in a very nice location. The view was spectacular. The beach is quite secluded which was nice. The pool area is quite big and clean. Perfect for a chillout Holiday. The restaurant was staffed well which meant tables were cleared promptly. The floor is being constantly kept clean. The food bar is constantly wiped and kept clean. The food is promptly replaced or replenished. The variety is decent. There is something for everybody but as an Indian of course the food was terribly bland. My suggestion would be to have fewer varieties but make them good. It was not separated by vegetarian and non vegetarian. Guest were mixing the spoons. The vegetarian section needs to be completely separate to the non veg. Again staff here were very polite and helpful. All in all a very nice comfortable stay.

Excellent resort for families. Maro World for children is amazing. Can't fault the food (fresh, varied and delicious!), other than that drinks at evening meals is limited to water, anything else you need to buy. Sadly the drinks by the pool bar are very expensive, which was a sentiment echoed by several guests we spoke to. Luckily the hotel is walking distance to a lovely parade of shops. Close to transport links into the old city. Short walk to the Coral Beach Club, where you'll find crystal clear water. Overall, I'd stay again.

Very good food with huge choice

The best thing on this hotel is food and wellness ( swimming pool and gym). Big disapointment were the rooms ( terrible pillows,quilt,bathrobe), very uncomfortable. Also during our stay the outdoor amenities were under reconstruction ( no possibility to use sunbeds, no outdoor pool, a lot of dust and noise around the hotel).

The rooms were very standard. The bathroom was pretty dated. Bathroom shower door was leaking .
Beds were very uncomfortable. Our rooms had two twins pushed together instead of a queen bed .
All inclusive food bar had a variety of pretty low quality items. Beach behind the hotel has stretchers tin a charge basis even though is advertised under the hotel site. Drinks at the pool were pricy with very minimal alcohol.

I thought the hotel room was very simple, clean and nice. I did not like that the only thing in the shower they provide is one hair/body wash soap. For how much you pay per night they should have shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Also, we stayed for a week and our sheets were never once changed. The staff at the front desk were mostly nice, but sometimes there would be people in line and they would all be talking behind the desk not serving customers. The pool is beautiful, the water aerobics class is a blast and probably a highlight of the entire trip. Was quite shocked that there was a woman tanning topless right beside small children at the pool though. The breakfast food was ok. No syrup for pancakes. The lunch and dinners were delicious. All the potato options were always good, the pizza was good. Wish there were more cooked vegetables for meals. Our room on Expedia included “full board” which when we arrived they told us basically means full board light, which is essentially breakfast, lunch and dinner and drinks during those meals included. Any other drinks outside of a meal had to be purchased. The pool bar had lots of options! The waiters and waitresses were all extremely kind! Beautiful view of the mountains off behind the pool and beach. Easy access to the city bus. If you go to stop 5 and wait for bus #6 it will take you to the Walls of Dubrovnik. Just make sure you have small bills on you to pay.

The hotel is a good 3* hotel, the staff are all friendly. The hotel offers an ‘all inclusive light’ option, which means drinks are only included at meal times, and have to be paid for throughout the rest of the day/night. The food is very good, even as a vegetarian I found there was a good choice.
The hotel is close to a beach, but a bus or taxi is needed to get into Dubrovnik centre. The buses are frequent & taxis are about £10-£14 each way for a 10 min journey.
Pool area is lovely, lots of space & beautiful views. We had a lovely holiday staying in this hotel!

Had a great stay here, the pool and views were amazing, never struggled for Sunbed’s even when late up. Food was great, shame there was no all inclusive for drinks other than with meals as that did get expensive. We went all inclusive light so had meals and drinks and meal times included. Highly recommend the evening tuk tuk to the mountain!

this is a wonderful hotel in a great location. I can’t fault the hotel itself, the staff or the amenities. This was our second holiday here & services were just as great as before. There are lovely beaches directly behind the hotel & the old town is only half hour away on the bus near the hotel.
However, i would not go all inclusive again. The food options & quality were not as high as our previous visit in 2013. I would probably go for the breakfast only option if visiting again.

The hotel has a beautiful outlook and is also very convenient to get into Dubrovnik on the bus. There are shops restaurant/bars within a couple of minutes walk and a beach. We also found the entertainment staff at the hotel extremely good.

Ok place to stay. 15 minute bus ride to the city which is normal as most people stay in hotels around the area.
Free food between 7am - 10am / 12pm - 2pm / 7pm - 9pm which gives you free drinking during this time. They say it's all inclusive but only free during these hours. Food was lovely though. It's expensive to drink in the hotel bar nearly 6 euro so fill up in the restaurant while it's free.

Over all this was a great vacation. The location is wonderful, great beach and pool and close to the old town. The rooms were nicely equipped but a bit basic. My criticisms are the food, while it was mostly very tasty it was very repetitive. Lastly and what turned me off the most was the pool staff. The bartenders were not very friendly, it seemed to be a hassle when you stepped up for service. There is no one to stop by and pick up used glasses or plates, you do it all. If you spill a drink, you clean it up and pay for a new one. You get your own equipment (chairs, towels and umbrellas). That was not a huge deal for me but I noticed there was no help for the older patrons. These are large and heavy peices and were a struggle. Myself and others were happy to help but we did this while staff stood by and chatted or were lost in their phones. All other staff in the lobby, rooms and dining areas were wonderful but the pool is where most people spent hours and the ball was dropped.

Great aside from internet not working

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and it's activities and easy access to old town. However, we really needed our wifi or work during this trip. Our room was at the very end of the hallway and the internet reached all rooms but ours. I had to sit in the hall till 2am to use it. Don't stay in room 3040.

Nice hotel ruined by policies

Silly things can ruin a hotel stay. Room was too warm despite air conditioning because we couldn't set the air conditioning any lower than 22C. I complained to the reception and was told it couldn't be put any lower because it was company policy to set it at 22c. Then we weren’t allowed to fill our water bottles from the water tap in the restaurant. Could it be anything to do with them charging nearly £3 for a small bottle of water? Then when my wife wanted a small splash of sparkling water in her drink we were told they were not allowed to give us this from the open bottle they use for cocktails, we must pay £4 for a small bottle, company policy. Finally, the whole pool area was as loud as a nightclub, when the water aerobics and other activities were on. The noise was so deafening, even though we were 100 meters away at other end of pool. This drove us to the beech a couple of times. Apart from this hotel was very clean, cleanest pool we've ever seen. Staff generally helpful and happy. Pizzas were to die for, probably the best we've ever had. Restaurant meals were good but lacked any great variety. I like to know what I am eating, so don't like to see 'Meat Lasagna or Meat bolognaise'. Interesting that other days it said 'Beef lasagna and bolognaise'. So what was in it when it wasn't beef???? Wouldn't go back because of all the above. Last thing but not hotels fault is Mosquitoes, I was bitten over 20 times in a week despite 40% Deet spray and I don't usually get bitten!

Surrounding bars and restaurants very expensive, £5 for a bottle of water down at the beach is ridiculous. If you get away from the tourist areas its normal prices. Dubrovnik very expensive too, just a cruise ship money trap. Go early to walk the walls before the big tour groups arrive.

Oh and the beds are too hard!!

Also WiFi in rooms irratic unless you sit in the cupboard by the door!!!!

I've given this hotel full marks as you need to remember it is 3 star and not luxury 5 star.
First I have to mention the entertainment staff...Brillant. if I could give 6 stars I would. They were non stop. Very friendly and had time for everyone.
The food...Yes it's normal style going abroad all inclusive but there are chef's cooking fresh pizza steak etc in the food hall.
The waiting staff were also on the ball. Clearing your table as soon as you finish and if I like me that has a naughty toddler throwing food on the floor they were soon there to clear it up.
Our room yes basic but for the time we were there that's all we needed. It was clean which is always top of my list.
Another tip is you can drink the tap water which I didn't know till I brought a load of bottled water.
If your looking for something that's not luxury and want to feel relaxed with your kids letting off steam this is the hotel for you.
Another tip when you want to go into the old town. It gets extremely busy. Check the cruise ship timetable for dubrovnik. Go on the days when there are less cruise ships or even better none.

Fantastic hotel- best 3 star we’ve stayed in- spotlessly clean great atmosphere, friendly staff and so many helpful extras that were free- so annoying when hotels charge you for everything- this hotel had free safes, free pushchairs to borrow, free bikes to hire - so many touches to make our holiday easy- cannot rate it enough- entertainment and fitness classes really great extra touch- nice balance of active options and chill out- must visit! Would defo return

Well worth a visit - great views and beaches

Hotel had a great view, great pool and good entertainment. Food was ok - not a great choice from day to day but was well prepared - good salads. Desserts disappointing.

The price is too expensive for the property, the rooms are outdated and basic and the all inclusive food is average. The pool is great although we had trouble finding lounge chairs since people place towels on them and then leave the pool for hours at a time. The resort should try to do something to control this. The staff was great and hard working. Be sure to ask the front desk if there is complimentary transfer to the airport if needed. We arranged a ride with a taxi and the front desk knew we did this without offering the complimentary transfer but I read on some reviews there is a transfer available.

Great hotel near old town Dubrovnik

The staff make this hotel. They are plentiful and were always pleasant. Check in/out was very quick. The complimentry pickup from and to the airport was fantastic and the guy was waiting for us on arrival at the airport. Food was always well cooked, fresh and something for everyone. Room clean and I had requested a high floor, we had room 5001 right at the end of the corridor with a stunning view of the sea from our balcony.
Booked a trip around 3 islands from the hotel, this was very well run and a trip definitely worth doing.
We also did the walls and cable car but on our own and enjoyed both.
We used the local number 6 bus and also Uber (approx £10) to get to and from old town.
We did struggle at times using credit cards for payment as not everyone took them and you get ripped of at the cash machine so take enough Kunas with you.
We had a great holiday and would recommend this hotel and Dubrovnik

Good Family Hotel

Had a great holiday with the family including two small children. Lovely swimming pool, children entertainment every night, good playground, spent lots of time in the pool and at the playground. Would certainly recommend for a family holiday.

Great hotel, lovely staff!

Hotel is really nice, rooms are big, air-con was good enough to keep the room chilled in the night. I booked all inclusive and the food was very good, lots of choice to eat healthy with fish too. I would definitely return.

Short stay but quite happy with Hotel.

Quite a large complex with plenty of facilities. Location is great, close to Copacabana Beach and a short bus ride on the No. 6 Bus to the Old Town. We had an all inclusive deal which was good value for money considering some other hotels were charging similar if not more for just B&B. Selection of food was decent for lunch & dinner, while drinks were included during meals. Although we were just a couple it is actually very well suited for families with entertainments for kids. If looking for something a little more sophisticated then there other hotels close by which may be preferable but be prepared to pay quite a bit more. Overall quite satisfied.

It was my 2nd time at this hotel. I remember the 1st time food wasn't so good. This time it had improved and lots of dishes were delicious, so congrats to them. The staff are friendly and pool area is very good. However, I had big issues with 2 things in my room. The WiFi inside the room didn't work, there was absolutely no signal. I requested them for a solution twice, but nothing, so this was upsetting. Also, the room had a constant noise of water or whatever from pipes, annoying. The biggest issue was that I asked about late check out (since their check out time is abnormally early) one day in advance and was denied, they said they were fully booked. But when I was checking out, people who were also checking out asked for late check out and were granted it, no problems. So, this really upset me and unfortunately I will have to think twice before staying there again.
