This used to be my budget go-to. No longer. I was given a room at the front of the hotel. Street noise was bad. One would expect that, but they didn’t have either option.There were two very uncomfortable single beds and both squeaked every time I rolled over. Breakfast is minimal at best.
Service is good. I’ve known some employees for years. They’ve always been great. The place is being renovated now. (Even more noise). But maybe new rooms will be nicer. I want it to get better. Until it does I moved to a different hotel early so I could get some sleep. Probably will not return.

Stayed here many times. Unfortunately , this time was disappointing. The room was old , small and musty. It was very loud as well. There was not only renovations going on but a party right outside our window. Once you entered our bathroom, the noise was blaring. The pool here as Always very nice and well kept. Breakfast good as well.

Best hotel in Bangkok. I had a very early check out for this trip. So they opened up breakfast a bit early knowing I had to catch a bus. If you want to have a fantastic stay, look no further. Pool, food, staff, room it's all excellent and for a fair price.

I've had friends stay here before a few days and always wanted to try it for myself. Finally got a chance to, and it did not dissapoint. Wow! Great rooms, great beautiful pool, amazing breakfast, everything was perfect. Staff was incredibly friendly. We arrived early and although couldn't check in until 2pm, they stored our bags and even let us go swimming and gave us towels, too for the pool. Then, once we checked in we saw this beautiful room, it was really nice. And the breakfast was so fresh and delicious with many options, including French Toast, and many different types of eggs and omelettes. I stay in this area of Bangkok alot, and this is for sure my new choice of hotels. Also, our TV wasn't working at first, told the hotel, and they fixed it as soon as possible. Wow, great service, great fabulous hotel in Khao San area.

I had a room where the power cut out, but the staff were great and quickly found me a room to move too which was fantastic service . I liked the location too. Not amidst the noise and bustle of Khaosan, but enough to be part of it.

After staying a few days in the most economical room I upgraded to a slightly larger room with a better balcony and a great view, where I spent a week. It was worth it. A very comfortable room where everything worked flawlessly. Great value for money.

My first stay here was in the lowest-cost single room in what appears to be the older, less renovated of the 2 buildings. I was quite comfortable - the bed was enormous, the mini fridge and various items of small wooden furniture came in handy; there was a high ceiling with ceiling fan; the bathroom, while small, was well layed out and easy to use. The room's key card and the Internet worked flawlessly. Finally, I liked the sense of privacy - it's a big hotel by Khao San standards - but because it's on the fringe of the tourist ghetto you can avoid alot of the tackiness by walking due west instead of east or south. This is a solid option for budget travelers who still want the comforts of conventional hotels. But note that depending on the room, the \"balcony\" may not be usable - in my case it was basically 2 large windows overlooking the aircon unit and an old bldg across the alley.

This is a fantastic guest house for the price. The staff are lovely and the location is perfect. The pool is great to cool down (we were travelling with our 9 year old daughter so it was a godsend) and the rooms are well equipped. We stayed here in 2004 and again in 2019 and we’d visit again!

My usual hotel in BKK

This is my usual place when visiting BKK. I like the location, 25 yards down an alley from Rambuttri (a very hip place with great food) and across the street from a river boat dock, surrounded by restaurants and cafes, and one-half mile from the craziness of Khao San. The pool and the casual dining poolside offer pretty standard Thai fare. Good front desk staff. The hotel cleans your room only upon request but they don't tell you at check. You are informed by signs in the elevator but it is easy to miss them as there are so many sign competing for attention. The bathroom is very small and needs updating. Comfy bed. Very good wifi.

Good value guest house. Nice energy/vibe/people. The back facing rooms are extremely quiet and that's important in this neighborhood. My aircon was two degrees not cool enough and really affects your sleep. They are trying to fix it now. Bed was good but only a sheet no blanket. The basic bones of this place are good. If they could just get the basics right (mainly air-conditioning) it would be so much better but they never do. Something in these small independent places always seems to go wrong

The hotel is basic, but it does have all that you need to enjoy your stay. The air condition, the pool, the room, the staff, the safe and also The restaurant were all good. Certainly worthwhile and much better than other accomodation options we saw when we were there. The main reason we stayed here was because of its centrality. It is within walking distance to the Grand Palace, Khaosan Road, Wat Po and the Chao Phraya River. If you are looking for a cheap, but reliable close to Bangkok's biggest attractions, look no further.

Very satisfactory hotel in a very interesting central area of Bangkok.
Hotel was very reasonable, restaurant was mediocre. Riverside sister hotel across the street has great location right on the river with lovely patio for evening dinner and cocktails.
siam2 is just a short stroll to the night market and not far to the palace, museum and other major temples.
Good value for the money.
Be sure to book a Pan Dan 6 hour canal tour.

I enjoyed my stay at New Siam 11. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was lovely. The restaurant food and staff were great. The wonton soup was the best I have ever tasted. The gh was located just across the street from the river and the water taxis. The rooms were a bit small for two single beds and the bathrooms were tiny. I would recommend a garden view vs. the back building as. You are looking out on an apartment building. I would recommend. this guest house.

I usually stay here when I'm in Bangkok it's not luxurious but a good price and in a nice area for the temples, and restaurants. They have a restaurant but You can also use the restaurant in the new Siam riverside hotel opposite. They do a really good breakfast buffet.

Place was recommended to me by a friend, I stayed at this hotel twice & both were for one night only. It is a basic hotel that will cater to your basic needs. It is over an hour from the Suvarnabhumi airport depending on traffic. A little bit less for Don Mueang International Airport. It is quite close to place you can visit like the Palace.

It's a great location, close to the buzz but not too close you can here it. Rooms were very tired, only one plug socket, bathroom needed some TLC and the beds were pretty hard. Wifi wasn't good at all. Kicked you off every hour or so and is slow in general. Staff were very lovely, very helpful when our air con stopped working. There was on the other hand construction going on next door, so the mornings were VERY loud and we weren't warned of this. Other than that, it's does the job.

The New Siam II Guuesthouse with a new and an old building is near Khaosan Road and Phra A-Thit Pier.
The rooms and the bath are small but clean with a minifridge and a safe.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
You also have a small swimmingpool and get Internet in the room.

Close Enough to Khao San Rd.

It's a great location to be close enough to Khao San Rd. but still remaining distant from all that chaos of Khao San Rd. The pool was a little small and crowded. There's a dining area attached to the hotel so if you don't want to eat street food, you have that option. Plus it's not exorbitantly expensive. The quality of the food though is hit or miss.

The room was nice but the walls aren't that thick so you might hear the neighbors above and in the halls. Not too bad but still not as quiet.

The crowd I felt was a mix of families and the younger college crowd.

No durian or bringing outside \"guests\" into the hotel room. Posters are visible through out.

Just adequate for 1 night

We are a 65 year old couple touring around Thailand for two months and know what to expect. Reception staff were most unwelcoming, unhelpful, all seemed too much trouble and inattentive. We booked online for 4 nights but only stayed for 1 night. Room advertised as 30m2 but was given a 15m2 room. We queried this to be told that was what we booked. When we showed booking sheet that showed we had booked 30m2 room we were told they did not have and thus just ignored us. We left the next morning to another hotel (Villa Cha Cha) 100 metres along road. Wow, what a difference, really great staff, large room, extremely clean, quiet and at the same price with breakfast included.
New Siam II would be barely adequate for 1 night if desperate. Seems more suited for backpackers as there were many there.

Exactly what we needed

We had a nice stay for our trip to Bangkok. The room was everything we needed and there were no hiccups checking in.

There were plenty of places to eat and drink. We were also very close to the nightlife as well.

A nice thing too was were able to walk to the grand palace from our hotel. It took about 10 minutes. That was key for us since we were trying to save some money!

Overall it was a great stay. The pool was a nice way to cool down too. I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel was decent, staff and overall locals just not as friendly in Bangkok. 2 block walk to Khosan Rd, but still far enough away it wasn't loud at night. Restaurant was OK, a little more expensive and too much American food. Room was OK (for anyone who has not been to Thailand, keep in mind it's a very different standard than what you may be used to). Beds were super hard and uncomfortable
