As soon as we walked in our room we was hit with a horrid smell. There was mould on the celling. Mould all around the shower. It clearly had not been cleaned at all. The floors had dried mud on it. Pillows and bedding smelt like unwashed arse. We left and found alternative accommodation after an hour. The only positive thing i can say is they refunded us for the second night, this is most likey because they know what an S hole it is!!! You may think your getting a bargain but your not. I wouldnt stay here if you paid me too!!!

If you’re here for the nightlife, this bis your spot.

Even as someone who wasn’t particularly, I slept fine. The staff moved me to the back of the hotel for a small fee, and with earplugs, you couldn’t hear anything.

Room was never cleaned whilst I was there, but maybe because I slept in.

The staff were incredible always with every interaction.

I came with 3 kids- which was probably my bad on Khaosan Road, but our room was so loud (like sooooo loud- we can handle inconveniences, this was like being next to a speaker in a night club). So we moved on the second night at 2am.

We had to split into two rooms, and they were MUCH quieter, but still not quiet.

This property is best suited for a backpacker type traveller who is up for 5pm to 5am parties.

The roof top pool was nice, but dated.

The hotel felt safe and the entrance was slightly set back from the Main Street with security at the entrance, I didn’t use the pool but it looked fine. There was a lot of noise but you are right on Khao San a very busy street- bring ear plugs! The room was clean and had all I needed.

This is the fourth time we have stayed at this hotel. Generally we have an excellent time, this time though we had a little trouble with the room being smaller, even though we had booked the same room as every other time. I see people complain about outside noise, and that noise wasnt bad at all. The noise from the neighbors was sometimes overwhelming. But nothing I can really do about that. Pool cafe attendants were amazing and very friendly.

À FUIRE !!!!!!
C'est d'ailleurs ce que nous avons fait après avoir passé une nuit HORRIBLE alors que nous devions en passer 3 !
Khaosan road est la rue la plus animée de Bangkok et c'est peu dire !
C'est à la discothèque qui mettra le son le plus fort : 122 db relevées sur le décibelmètre, en peine rue !
Autant dire qu'à ce niveau sonore, aucun établissement hôtelier de cette rue ne dispose de fondation suffisamment isolée.
A cela s'ajoute les bruits sourds des climatisations d'anciennes génération et une odeur affreuse d'humidité.
La réceptionniste (très gentille) nous a proposé plusieurs chambres.
Nous avons opté pour celle qui semblait être la plus calme mais nous entendions malgré tout le bruit sourd des discothèques.
Sans parler des clients ivres qui regagnent leur chambre à 3h du matin dans l'indiscrétion la plus totale !

En bref, cet hôtel est probablement bien pour les fêtards mais absolument pas pour les autres et encore moins pour les familles !

Le Tinidee Trendy Bangkok hôtel (une rue parallèle) est formidable, avec des prestations exceptionnelles et pour des tarifs quasi similaires

This housing worked for our purposes, but is definitely not for everyone. Noise from Khaosan Road is inescapable until 5am, and walking back is always an odyssey of dodging hawkers and misbehaved foriegners. If you know this street, you know what to expect.

TLDR; You get what you pay for. That said, my group enjoyed our stay.

Because of the location, the street of the hotel is party town at night, different kinds of loud music with humongous speakers coming from all the different restaurants around the area. My friends were unable to sleep well at night. But lots of shops and restaurant at your doorsteps.

Dang Derm is right in the middle of Khaosan Road so if you want to be slap bang in the thick of the thumping nightlife then it’s ideal.
The blaring music is audible from your hotel room and goes on until 4am so be prepared for that. But if chaotic, fascinating, loud and relentless is your thing then it’s the place to stay.
There’s a pool on the roof if you want to take a break from it all and cool off from the sun and humidity.
The room was comfortable and the staff friendly, helpful and spoke good English

We had the premier suite which was in front of Khao San road, it was very loud, very little shielding from the sound but we had a corner unit with a wrap around porch and the people watching without being in the mess was priceless. Hotel is exactly in the middle of the action, never a dull moment.

Checkin staff were good but on checkout they neglected to return the cash deposit and apon realising I needed to return and get it back. The place was dirty, as in not ever cleaned properly dirty. Ok the place is old as the name says, Dang Derm translates to Old Place, and it’s in need of a refurbishment but grime on the floor from not being mopped is unacceptable. Then there’s the water in the shower, hot then cold, hot, cold, extremely hot then cold. Not recommended.

Whilst knowing the hotel was on Khaosan road and it was going to be busier/louder we were not aware from other reviews that the hotel was on top of 3 drum and bass clubs open until 4am each night. The window slides do nothing to quieten the noise and we were at the back of the hotel where it was quieter and even then you could still feel the floor shaking from the music. The swim up pool bar advertised is closed permanently and the jacuzzi is just an extension of the pool with jets. The entire hotel is very run down and out of date, I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re planning on being out all night and not sleeping

To be honest it can be loud at night, a lot of clubs and music on that street, but I stayed on back side of hotel and barely heard a thing. Also as one local explained this Hotel is Thai Style..so if you don't like your mattress on floor and toilet and shower in same spot than this is not your place..but if you like to live more local style great choice.. Nice pool on roof with swim up bar also just regular bar on roof that serves drinks and food. Also area as alot of shops and stands, bars, clubs, restaurants and even a 7/11 across the street. I would stay again.

This place is great if you are there to party only. Staying up late and not caring if your room is maintained. Otherwise it is super loud until 4am and it is hard to get new towels and amenities. We had to ask everyday for towels and some days they were out. They didn't even have hand towels, so you have the one towel for everything.

The pool bar didnt have supplies for smoothies, they didnt clean the room even if you left the clean riom sign on door. I asked frint desk to have my room and it was ignored, until I asked to refunded and Id stay at a different hotel. Refund was ignored and 2 hours later the room finally got poorly done. Our dated rooms, matress on floor...its just a poor service and liw quality stay for the price. Id highly recommend avoidjng this hotel.

Wer lange Wachbleiben kann, ok!!!

Da ich am Ende meiner Asien Reise über Bangkok Abreise, will ich immer ein letztes Mal krachen lassen und Khao San ist dafür bestimmt. Das Hotel mit seinem sauberen Pool auf dem Dach perfekter Lage( nicht geeignet für Menschen die sich über lauter Musik beschweren) passt ideal. Lediglich die Klimaanlage war schwer zu regulieren.

The properties are not bad and excellent location to goes to places in the area and not far from the king grand palace. The price is cheap and lots of bars around it. It’s really noisy from 8pm-2am. If you want to experience the vibe of old Bangkok, this hotel is what you are looking for. In addition, it is recommended for young people. The hotel is clean and no luxury, you get what you pay, however, you need to know that beds are actually just materases on the floor. For older people could be a problem...
Also, it gets very noisy at night, it is highly recommended for parties or if you want to try an authentic Thai cuisine.

We knew that this hotel was located in the Khaosan Road Market area of Bangkok, however having never been to Thailand, we didn’t know what to expect. At night, the road shuts down, and it is party central...which is ok if that’s what you want, however it was super loud in our room until 4-5am. The party goes late, and even with earplugs, I had trouble sleeping.
Aside from that, the service just wasn’t good. You have to pay $500 Bhat each for a security deposit for your room key (which isn’t a key, but just a flimsy card for the door. Also, when we checked out, they said we should’ve had 4 towels in our room, and we only had 3...they wanted to keep our security deposit for this.
Lastly, the room itself wasn’t phenomenal...very poor lighting, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. It was just a mattress on the floor.
Like I said, just be aware of what you are getting into...the price was cheap, but the hotel, location, and amenities really weren’t even worth that price. The photos online look great, and to me and my wife, they were a little misleading.

The best you can get in the heart of Khaosan Road. Nice pool and view on the roof with bar. Nice buffet breakfast too. But you are in Khaosan road so this means VERY noisy at night. It personnaly didn't bother me (hear plugs on!) but don't go there with babies or if you are looking for quiet nights!

Great Thai style rooms in wood with fabulous bathrooms( but a hand held extra shower head to reach lower parts of the body would improve the experience!).... Beds at floor level.... very helpful staff... One of the most beautiful roof top pools with bar in Bangkok.... The good and bad is its location in the heart of the Khaosan Road which is busy noisy expensive and packed.... Some people love it but I cannot get over how dirty and smelly the place is with many hawkers selling rubbish at 50% more than elsewhere in Bangkok even after negotiation. Any room on the road side of the hotel is therefore noisy. Front desk is well run ( once you have got there through the dark courtyard entrance) but the cleaning staff are terrible and a new housekeeping management is needed.
But the place is a unique experience.
