This is a great hotel for single travelers or couples or friends even families.
The pictures are true with maybe minimal details that not showing as in reality. Overall this is a great area with access to everything from party nights around the corner to easy access to scenic views as the Royal palace to walking around, walking distance to the river ferry that will take you to different areas including local markets.
It’s located at Kohsan Road that as mentioned, has party life and also more “quiet” dining areas with all walking distance. Shopping is all around as well. You can eat a breakfast for a small fee or you can try out different places around the hotel. There’s a nice smaller pool area on the roof top and additional seating area.
The rooms are big and have all you need including a safe. Bed could been softer but unless you have serious back issues it won’t be a problem. We slept 3 nights and could have stayed longer with no problems.
Least but not last, the staff is amazing!!!
Super friendly and welcoming and willing to help with anything that might come to mind.
Good thing is it’s 24/7 hr staffing so we had no issues arriving at 2.30am, due to our flights.
If you looking for a great place to stay but not looking for exclusive accommodation or expensive hotel, this is IT!
Have paid higher prices in USA for nothing even close to what they had to offer here.
This side of Kohsan is “quiet” and no issues sleeping. Yet all the party is just around the corner.

I can’t fault the hotel and it’s facilities (although the rooftop swimming pool was very cold when I was there!). The rooms were of a good size with comfy beds and great pillows and bed linen. The location was fantastic as it was just north of Khao San Road but you didn’t get any of the noise from the partying in that area. Great location for walking to the river side, the Grand Palace and also a short taxi ride to some beautiful temples.

One negative is that the hotel manager could not allow a late cancellation when I needed to check out early due to a rescheduled flight. Frustrating and spoiled my overall experience of staying with them.

Other than that, I would recommend the hotel for comfort, and if you want to stay near Khao San with its messy cannabis smoking travellers and bar-hawkers trying to wave you into their bars whilst blocking the street.

Having finished my tour around Thailand, and staying in various places including the Lebua State Tower, I can honestly say Dewan is the best accommodation in Bangkok/Thailand.

The location is central to everything with great local food places, minutes away from the bars of Khaosan Road, and easy commutes to beautiful cultural sightseeing destinations.

The staff are all incredible, with special shouts to Yo and Sea, and the rooftop pool is an exceptional touch for the room costs.

Paid for a large room (32 sq mtr) given a small room (22 sq mtr) then repeatedly lied to by Front desk staff who told me it was large (except the lovley cleaner who said of course my room is small)
The room size became irrelevant after the dishonesty of desk staff. Spoiled the otherwise good experience

This hotel is very close to many bars and restaurants and therefore we loved it. But rooms are not soundproof as we were at the front and never managed to get to sleep till after 4.00 am each night. After three nights we were exhausted as we were up early doing things. Otherwise a beautiful hotel with really exceptional staff. Lovely spa onsite too.

We stayed here for three nights in late December and one night in late January. Both stays were great. Big rooms and a rooftop pool with a nice place to watch the sunset! The staff is so nice and friendly - we have a toddler and they called him by name all the time! My only complaint is that the pool was way too cold to swim!

The Dewan was overbooked so we were moved to their sister hotel Nouvo city supposedly to an upgraded room . The room was clean but very dated and the layout of the rooms meant lots of noise from adjoining rooms . The staff were professional but not overly friendly and at checkout insisted I pay for a cold water for 30b on my card. The area itself is a good one with plenty of food and drinking options . I won’t be returning to these hotels .

This is my go to place to stay in Bangkok. The hotel is a lovely oasis of sanctuary in the craziness of Bangkok. Nice comfortable rooms, friendly staff, pleasant swimming pool on the roof. The location is great, just off the end of Soi Rambuttri with all those nice restaurants. And a few minutes walk from Khao San Road, but far enough away to avoid all the noise. Near palaces and other tourist attractions. Great place to stay.

The hotel is ik in a good position. Rooms were ok. Taps didnt stop dripping after being switched off. We inadvertantly left some money on the bed when we went out. When we got back it had disappeared. I asked room service and reception. Both said they didnt find the money. Pool area was fine but there is no bar/ drinks service which would be a benefit in the heat. Overall we enjoyed Bangkok but i dout we would go back to the hotel

It’s a good option if you want to be in the middle of it all in Old Town, don’t want to pay too much and don’t mind that it’s a bit run down. I found the room to be grubby and the bed rock hard. Wouldn’t want to spend more than a night or two here but it is convenient. Also there is a pool on the roof. We didn’t try it but I’m sure it’s a plus for lots of people as Bangkok is HOT.

Amazing hotel!

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room and the common areas were clean and well-maintained—decent-sized rooms. The facilities were nice. The location was great and in the middle of the most commonly visited tourist areas, but it was still quiet, and we couldn't hear a beep when in the room.
I would definitely stay there again next time I am in Bangkok.

Dewan is a basic but excellent choice of hotel if you want to stay within five minutes of Khaosan Rd but you don’t want to deal with the noise. Don’t expect five star luxury, but expect prompt help when you need it and very friendly staff. The bed was very comfortable and everything was spotless clean. The rooftop pool and terrace are fantastic for enjoying a swim and a drink as the sun goes down over Bangkok. There is a massage shop at ground level, a 7-11 across the road, and an authentic little restaurant nextdoor to the 7-11, so all very convenient. Highly recommended.

If you want to stay in the old area of Bangkok close to the Grand Palace and some street markets and bars , the location is great. The beds are comfortable and the room is spacious. Staff are friendly and helpful. The noise though from the street is very strong ,,also there was another loud humming sound, we assumed it was from the air-conditoning in another too. Apart from the street noise we happily stay again.

The Dewan Bangkok is a unique boutique hotel with charming touches and wonderful staff. The staff anticipate your needs without being intrusive. We felt safe and well taken care of. Here, you are a short ride away from major sites, close to many restaurants (including a couple of excellent vegan restaurants) and one can enjoy Khaosan Road without being in the midst of the cacophny.

This is a lovely boutique hotel close to the bars of Khao San Road and the restaurants on Soi Rambuttri, but just slightly removed so it's quiet and peaceful. Room was clean and very comfortable. Staff are helpful. There is a nice pool and lounging area on the roof. Definitely the best place I've stayed in the Khao San neighbourhood and now my default place to stay in Bangkok. Great place.

My room was at the front of the hotel so along the Main Street plus being so close to Khao San road meant it was noise but nothing some ear plugs don’t solve.

Not as quite as I hoped

When booking the hotel I knew it was close to the busy street, what I did not know is that the music and noise from the side streets propagates to the room windows. Add to that some noisy neighbours slamming the door at 4am and speaking in the corridor and you have a stay without much sleep.

I'm a deep sleeper but the noise was even too much for me (especially from other guests) and I had to call reception several times. Would not stay at this hotel again.

Great location just a few blocks from Khaosan Road, plenty of restaurants and shopping. We could still hear the music at night but it was minimal. Roof top pool and lounge area was fantastic. Our was massive compared to some others we have had in Asia. Front desk staff were super helpful came to the room to help us reprogram the tv. Also allowed us to use a computer as I was having issues with airline boarding passes. Wake up call was executed perfectly. Would highly recommend a stay here.

It can be very noisy at night but the pool was great and enjoyed the terrace - really nice outdoor space.

Very convenient and walkable to the museums and palace.

Just consider when booking - it said we got a free minibar which they said they haven't done that since 2016. However because we complained they did go out of their way to get us beer, coke and small snacks that would have been like a minibar. So can't fault their service.

The rooms are clean, stocked with supplies. The rooftop and pool are a nice area to see the city and relax. The staff are friendly. It is two streets from Khao San Road and close to other major attractions. Suggestions would be to have face cloths, better shampoo in the dispenser. The fridge power is cut off when you remove the card key which should be left on for a couple of reasons (while people are staying in a room)-it is very difficult on a fridge to be cut off mid-cycle, it takes more power to re-cool a fridge than to leave it running, your drinks never get a chance to cool down as you should be out of the room most of the time. If you purchase breakfast for the convenience, it is mainly the same every day, there are enough restaurants around that you don't need to do this if you don't want. I found the bed hard but that was everywhere. I would definitely go back to this location again.

Nice hotel near khao san road, but a few grumbles. The WiFi was really annoying and kept dropping out all the time. The beds were really hard, which might have been ok for a couple of nights but I was there for over a week and my hip joints were really sore (I'm not old!). The staff were very friendly and pretty helpful though.

The towels weren't good towels and they only gave you two. I had major issues with the guy who works at night. He was giving away my private information to other guests that I would bring back to the hotel. Eventually I have to give him money to keep his mouth shut. Left the hotel early to stay somewhere else. Didn't care that it was all paid for. Very unpleasant stay. Just to clarify the staff during the day was fine. It was the guy who worked at night that was terrible. I would fire him if I was running that hotel.

Had a fabulous stay here! The hotel room truly looked like the pictures. Loved the rooftop pool and sitting area. Employees were very helpful and check in/check out was smooth. Would recommend this place to anyone! Very well located in Bangkok as well.

Only slight negative was that the website advertises an airport shuttle and when we asked the front desk about it, we were told no such service is offered.

The decor and styling was something a little different for Bangkok and really nice because of it. It had a very relaxed feel to it and the location, whilst being very accessible for the Khao San Road, was quiet and peaceful. The staff are also friendly and helpful and speak good English. My only small criticism would be that they could do with a better selection of TV channels, but the internet works just fine if you want to stream Netflix on your phone or PC instead. I'll definitely stay there again.

This appears to be a nice hotel but the service we received was awful. There happened to be a big procession taking place on the day of our arrival which blocked access to the hotel and meant they had to close the pool. None of this was communicated to us in advance, and when we arrived no-one from the hotel came to collect us from the security gates, despite numerous calls. This meant we had to wait in the heat for almost an hour before getting to check-in.

I gave 4 stars and not 5 for 2 reasons. The lighting in the room was quite dark despite having the lights on full, and the roof-top pool area. I honestly thought there was going to be a bar up there with all the seating, I would have paid whatever amount to get beers up there instead of having to go buy bags of ice and drinks and plastics cups from 7-eleven (not the worst thing) missed opportunity.

We loved the room - it was spacious, clean, modern, and very nicely decorated. The bed was above average for Asia. The staff was super friendly. I was very happy with the 24 hour desk service. The only thing I wish to criticize is that the pool/rooftop area closes at 8pm. This is outrageously early and I was dissappointed I did not get to utilize that space because I arrived back at the hotel at 8:15 :(

Great base in the heart of Bangkok

Great base right in the heart of Bangkok. Very close to all the evening hustle and bustle but on a quiet street so no noise at night. Rooms are well presented. Nice and clean. Bed very firm. Shower room okay just smells a little damp at times but hey it's Bangkok and to be fair, it can smell. Pool area okay, very small but was quiet when we went although they did say the hotel was fully booked so we could not pay extra to have late check out. Overall, good stay and I would recommend especially at the room rates.

This is a great place with a great location. Rustic feel with modern ammenities. Friendly staff willing to help you out when needed. The only issue was the noise from the curcuit braker in the room. It kept vibrating at different times through the day but since i didnt stay in much it wasnt a problem. I did not notice it at night when i slept, which was most important. Thats why i would give this place a 4.5.

Nice hotel in good location with rooftop pool

nice hotel in a very good location 5 minutes walk to Khao san road. Only 2 minutes walk to great food stalls in the evening. The rooftop swimming pool was greatly appreciated. A word of warning do not break anything we broke a drinking glass and the hotel charged us 200 baht for something we could have bought for 25 baht. That was the only negative. The Wi-Fi was mostly good.
