Beautiful boutique hotel in the French quarter in Hanoi. It's on a side street.
There's two rooms per floor very clean and comfortable.Good wifi.The staff was very attentive. Amazing breakfast for such a small hotel. The food was amazing.
Yes, the french quarter is a little crowded.But in your room, you wouldn't know it. I would definitely stay here again.And I highly recommend it

Nice stay!

Our stay was really pleasant. The hotel itself is old, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was really nice and helpful, the price was unbeatable, and the location is really convenient to walking to other areas of the Old Quarter. Not a fancy hotel, but it satisfied our needs in every way and was great for a two night stay.

A good place to stay for the $$. A bit noisy. That's OK because it is close to lots of city activities and food places. AC worked well. The staff was very helpful and arranged a cab for us. The front desk lady spoke very good English.

Friendly staff but not so clean rooms.

Located near beer street so it was convenient to get to different places, but that would also mean that it is quite noisy around the area. Both windows and walls don't seem to have good sound/noise cancellation. Staff was friendly, able to communicate in English, and they even allow us to shower at the common toilet before we left for our overnight sleeper bus to Sa Pa. Appreciate the hospitality but the rooms were a little old fashion with some spoil furnitures especially in the toilet. We also found a used teaspoon placed beside the teacups when we check-in.

This hotel is a bit hard to find as it is not in the main street, however we can walk to any places near the Hoan Kuem lake. The staff are excellent, thanks to Thuy, we will recommend this place to our friends.

This hotel is small and is located in an alley, but its interior is cosy and has lots of craftwork and decoration to give a royal like charm, as its name suggests. Service is warm and prompt, thumb up for Julie and the hotel team. Breakfast sets have many choices available, and are delicious. But they are not free of charge., counted as 50,000 VND per set, and 30,000 VND for second order.The only disappointment is TV set not working properly in the last few days of stay. Julie did promise the repair but only comes two days after. Other than that, the stay is superb and comfortable.

Thanks for making me feel so much at home! Had an amazing and comfortable 3-night stay at the hotel. I arrived from Sapa past midnight and the staff was waiting up to ensure that I got to the hotel safely without any issues. Julie readily arranged for my bus ride from Sapa to Hanoi and recommended great places to visit around town. It was located in one of the small alleys which might be a little hard to locate at first but was a great location to be in (close to everywhere) and not too busy. This would certainly be my top choice for another stay if I’m back in Hanoi! Thanks for making my stay, Julie and team!

Fantastic place to stay

This hotel is located in a small alleyway parallel to the main road, in the midst of many restaurants and famous attractions. Receptionist was very helpful, she can arrange any tour or request that you want. She helped arrange a tailor for us, and also recommended Halong Bay cruise from the desk. Room was clean, towels are changed every day. Power sockets are also equipped with travel adapters, although the width is not able to fit 2 wide chargers side by side. We would have booked extra days for our stay in Hanoi but they were fully booked. Thoroughly an enjoyable experience.

The hotel is in a great location. There are many food and drink options all around all within walking distance. The staff, Rose and Chao were amazing! They were warm and welcoming, and very helpful. Throughout my stay, they both went above and beyond to make it a comfortable and memorable one.

Close to the night market, the lake, and walking distance to many attractions including the Water Puppet theater. Staff was very helpful and even reacted quick to an illness our daughter encountered to keep our Vietnam travel on track.

Second Stay in Hanoi Guest House Royal

It was my second time staying at Hanoi Guest House Royal and I loved the entire experience there. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the breakfast concept too; made to order from a set of menu. While waiting for your food, you may eat whatever's available on the buffet table first. Thank you, Hanoi Guest House Royal!

We stayed at Hanoi guesthouse royal for 3 nights and it was a really fantastic experience. Their service was even better than a 5 stars hotel, all the front desk staff was with a smiley face. At the first night we planned to buy the water puppet show ticket but unfortunately the ticket office had closed when we arrived, after that we seek for the hotel staff help and they helped us to buy the ticket in the next day without any surcharge.

At the last day we planned to eat breakfast outside, so we didn't have breakfast in their restaurant, their staff remember that we did't have breakfast yet and asked us if we need to have some food even the breakfast time was over. The room was well decorated and clean, bed was so comfortable. We felt like home! Location was very convenient, there are so many restaurants around. You can visit all the attractions in Old quarter on foot. All in all, I am highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful, moderately priced hotel in Hanoi!

We stayed 5 nights at the Hanoi Guest House Royal in April 2018 and loved it. The hotel is in Hanoi's Old Quarter and walking distance from just about everything in that part of the city but if you need to go further afield, the friendly, capable staff are more than happy to secure a taxi or cyclo for you. When you need to use a taxi, this is the way to go so that those that the hotel call will not take you on a long, circuitous ride around town. The hotel itself is bright, clean and safe. The beds were immaculate, firm and comfortable with crisp white sheets and towels. The bathrooms were newly renovated and spotless and the air conditioning worked like a charm in a humid, hot climate. Breakfast is served daily with fresh fruit and juices, toast and eggs ready to go or you can order more standard Vietnamese fare from a menu.

This hotel is small. The lobby and restaurant are tiny but room is quite large. Located in a small alley Hanoi's old quarter, walking distance to everywhere in the old quarter. Breakfast is OK, buffet selection is small but you can order some dishes from the menu. Air condition is average, not very powerful. Staffs are helpful.

Amazing staff and great locations

Ms Thuy was amazing and helped plan all our trip. The bellboy (unfortunately his name escapes me) was a great help and ghosted our taxi to the train station and made sure we made he right trains he was great. Fantastic location and top class facilities. Best breakfast we had in three weeks of Vietnam by far.

Beautiful Oasis in the old quarter

The room, the restaurant and the hotel were clean, stylish and comfortable. The staff tool great pride and care in their work. You felt that they would do their very best to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable. Huyen at reception is exceptional. Definitely recommend anyone staying the old quarter to stay here.

Hotel is superb.

Loved this hotel, and I have stayed in lots and lots of hotels. They have lots of little touches which make it a special place. Reception couldn't be more helpful. I had a bit of a problem which wasn't related to the hotel, but they went out of their way to try and help me resolve it. It is right by all the great places to eat and shop and only a 10 minute walk to the lake. Highly recommended.

Checkin was fast and friendly; the welcome drink was refreshing and yummy; breakfast was filling; and staff was very well versed in guests needing extra care after check out (ie we had a late flight and were able to shower in a guest bathroom upon return to retrieve stored luggage!)

Best hotel in Hanoi

Best budget hotel I have ever stayed in. It's called Royal for a reason! Me and my boyfriend stayed here for one night in Hanoi after staying in a string of really bad budget hotels in the old quarter. We decided to pay a little bit more and hoped that it would be a little bit nicer for our last night in Vietnam- we were not disappointed. Absolutely beautiful room, big bed and a nice balcony. The decor is stunning, and it made me feel like we had payed for a 5* hotel when in reality we had only paid a little bit more than the cheap damp holes we had stayed in previously. Totally value for money. Wish I could stay here again. We didn't even want to leave the hotel during the day because it was so nice! The breakfast was also decent- and free! I had a bacon sandwich. The bacon was crispy and tasted like it does back home in England. They do need to buy better tomato sauce (some Heinz ketchup) though. Thank you Katy for looking after us during our stay.

New hotel and with nice and clean rooms. Located along a small side lane and can be quite noisy from the stalls selling food below the hotel. Polite and helpful staff, speak English.
Good location and nice place to walk around, many small coffee cafes nearby.
Hard to find prepaid mobile cards in this area.

The hotel was in a great location. hard to find amongst the business of Hanoi so would recommend contacting the hotel for their shuttle service. Staff were brilliant, so friendly and polite. Gave us great information about Hanoi and places to go along with excursions and added information. The breakfast was cooked to order and. Great little boutique hotel in old quarter

Great place, location, value for money. Room is a little small so our 3rd and 4th nights we upgraded to the deluxe and the room was big enough for my tall husband. Bed is larger than standard king bed. Service was excellent, and this place was clean, clean, clean. They cleaned at all hours of the night. Don't expect high luxury but for the price this exceeded our expectations. Will return!

Perfect location!

Fantastic location in Old town Hanoi. The hotel is brand new and staff is extremely helpful and polite. They helped prepare the room as a surprise to my husband on our wedding anniversary with flowers and bubbles. Rooms are quiet and clean and wifi was working well. Breakfast was good with different options to choose from a menu. We can highly recommend this hotel!
