My idea of a hotel room is simply a place to sleep and prepare for the day. The bed was most comfortable, the bathroom was adequate with good hot water. The room was tight and dated, however with everything required and the air conditioning worked very well. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful. The breakfast was variable and sufficient. Overall the room matched the price paid.

For me, the wonderful staff of this property were it’s greatest asset. My city view was little more than a glimpse of roof tiles and scaffold of a neighbouring property. The internet had issues, the property or at least the room I was in is in need of some renovating, the A/C didn’t have the capacity to cool the small room in an acceptable timeframe, especially given the sweltering Hanoi heat. The buffet breakfast, while limited, was good and served in a friendly manner. After my booking dates expired at this hotel, I found an amazing property that was only a few dollars more per night.

Overbooking

This was a last minute booking on the bus ride back from Sapa, but when I arrived around 9pm, the manager told me there was no room available for me. Now that I know this happens fairly often in Vietnam when one books the last remaining room, I should have called the customer support to help me cancel the reservation without penalty. He first tried to relocate me to another hotel in partnership which was 2km away from this one. When I refused, I was taken to a cheaper hotel nearby for the first night, then returned for the next day. I appreciate the staff guiding me through the check in at the other hotel and picking up the luggage, but I do feel it would have been better if the manager simply cancelled the booking promptly. There was no balcony in the room as shown in the photos.

A double booking meant my family room already paid for was unavailable. They offered an upgrade in another hotel but it was a long way from where we had chosen to stay. Helped us find another hotel which ended in disaster. Then assisted us later again. Very nice staff with good English.

Great Value For Money

Stayed here for 9 consecutive nights and found the hotel to be great value for money. Great location, well appointed simple rooms, very good bathroom for the price, friendly staff (both front of desk and housekeeping) and very good value for money. By Vietnamese hotel standards the bed was quite comfortable and not overly firm and the pillows were excellent. I didn't book breakfast as there are so many venues close by offer a wide choice (street food through to Western dishes) as well as a number of great coffee houses run by young and enthusiastic locals. Overall a very enjoyable stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a clean and value for money basic hotel.

\"A diamond in the ruff!\"

If you desire simple comfort at a price you can't refuse, this is the place to stay in Old Town, Hanoi! The front desk staff are very accommodating, especially \"Strong\" - the English translation of his Vietnamese name. They all speak and understand English to a high degree.
This hotels' location is within walking distance of most sightseeing. If you desire a tour or certain activities the staff can arrange it too, at a reasonable price!
I think you will enjoy your stay should you choose them Rising Dragon.

Artisan hotel is one of my choice hotel in Hanoi

This hotel has everything that a traveler needs - location, price and breakfast. It is very close to the lake and a walk away from the night market. The breakfast is really one of the best compare with so many hotels that I had stayed before in Hanoi.

Staff were very helpful. Our stay was postponed due to sickness but no extra charges for delay (unlike some hotels). Rooms were tiny but very clean and hotel is walking distance to most attractions. Breakfast is plentiful and freshly cooked. Rooms were inexpensive. Staying for 3 nights and have booked in again after Halong Bay tour. I recommend this hotel for all travellers who are not into staying at 5 star resorts.

Great option for tourists

The staff was extremely friendly and gave us great suggestions for local eats, a tailor and sights to see during our visit. Water, coffee and tea are available all day downstairs. This hotel is basic yet accommodating for tourists who don't plan to spend much time in the room as there is so much to explore in Hanoi.

Overbooking possible ...

Had three separate reservations with Rising Dragon Legend Hotel at the end of December 2014. The first one (one night) worked fine. For the next (one night), we were moved to two separate rooms instead of a family room. For the third one (two nights), we were moved next door to the Rising Dragon hotel, since the Legend hotel was full, they were overbooked. The Rising Dragon was not quite as nice as the Legend hotel. This was obviously disappointing. Maybe the fact that we had not booked our tours with them did not help.
Generally, the Legend hotel is very good, however I would be reticent in booking with them again due to the non-respect of their reservations in our case !

Very Satisfied!

We arrived very early morning (2am) and the staff who welcomed us were a little bit sleepy, the gate of the hotel was closed but they opened it right away. The hotel seemed to be a big house when we stepped in. No elevators and our room was on the 3rd floor so we were tired climbing up the stairs. Not such a good impression at first but when we entered the room, VERY SPACIOUS and VERY CLEAN. Considering how cheap we have to pay for 3 nights, we didn't expect it to be that big. In the morning, breakfast was ooh lala! It was really filling and all the staff are very nice and smiling and very helpful! They cleaned the room and left new toiletries everyday. On our last day, we have to check out early and they kept our luggages for the whole day so we can still go around shopping. No hidden fees and they dont charge much for the consumed drinks. They also have a good exchange rate and inexpensive tours to offer. Overall, it was a good experience and will highly recommend it!

A quite hotel in the hustle and bustle of Hanoi

On arrival at Hanoi airport we were met by our driver, sent by the hotel on our request, to pick us up. Much easier than haggling with a taxi tout or trying to figure out when a bus might leave. Though the driver spoke next to no english, he got us to our destination safely. Upon check in we were shown to our room. Though the room had no view to speak of, the room itself was well presented and we felt safe and comfortable. Tracy in reception organised a trip out to Halong Bay for us as well as train tickets from Hanoi to Hue. She spoke very good English and was very accommodating with informing us of attractions around the city. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was most enjoyable. All staff were very helpful, they even packed us an early morning breakfast on our last morning as we had to leave early by train.
Highly recommend this hotel. Central to all of the old quarter. Easy walking around town, just be mindful of the traffic.

Good Location, Clean Room, Staff very friendly

I travelled with my big family in Honoi and stayed there for 3 days. I booked 3 rooms for 7 people (father, father-in-law, sister, sitster-in-law, husband and daughter).
I highly recommend to stay this hotel. It is all well located, very clean, comfortable, safe and organized with very helpful staff. There is an elevator. Wonderful location and easy visit in walking distance of Lake Hoan Kiem, Water Puppet Theater and Night Market.
Tracy, Lucy and her staff very friendly. Good suggestion from staff for local restaurants, department store and shops. Tracy help us with all we needed for One Day Tour to Halong bay and Hoa Lu- Tam Coc trip. We had a very enjoyable and funny in these tours. The services and lunch are good. Thank you for your suggestion and give me the reasonable price tour to me. Staff helps me for advance booking Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre show and got the best seat for my family.
We also enjoyed their breakfast, which freshly made. It was good and delicious. Since my return flight departing time early in the morning, staff prepared a take-away breakfast for my family.
We had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay in this hotel. Nice experiences in Honoi Vietnam. No complain and If I have change to visit Honoi, I will come back to stay this hotel again.

In preparing to book the holiday we sent a few emails and always received a quick and professional response from the staff. We are glad we booked the hotel-organised airport transfer.
When we arrived we were able to book in an hour early (great as we had been in transit for 20 hours!!), the staff greeted us with a welcome drink and provided us some goods tips on what to see in Hanoi, where to eat, what to avoid and what tours they recommend. The staff are young, but are all so friendly with great english (including the door man and the cleaning team).
The rooms were comfortable, clean and we had good hot water :)
The day we checked out we were catching a train at 7:30 to Sapa, they allowed us to store our luggage all day at the hotel, then to use their shower to freshen up after a day of site-seeing before our train trip.

Had an excellent time at this hotel. There was a problem with the booking which meant I had to share a room with my travelling companion,I wasn't to happy about this as the hotel admitted it was their fault ,but it worked out ok for the following night.The hotel staff were excellent in their customer service and greeted everyone by their first name each time they saw you.Overall a nice clean hotel with terrific staff,especially Tracy.

Lovely staff (super friendly), great breakfast, excellent location. The rooms are a bit small, but that's the same everywhere in Hanoi. Price of the room was great. Only downside is that the hot water was a bit unreliable while we were there which resulted in the odd lukewarm / cold shower. If they can fix the sporadic hot water I'd give them 5 stars all round.

I loved the stay in Hanoi, partly because of the welcome I received at the hotel. There were absolutely no problems, and I find it hard to believe that any reasonable person would rate it poorly or even average.
I requested the hotel to pick us up and drop us off to the airport, which was arranged by David through e-mail at a very reasonable price. He recommended some Halong Bay tours at my request, but I ended up going with some other agency. There was no pressure to go with him, and they also kept our extra luggage while we were out on this side trip for free.
If I was ever to go back to Hanoi, you know where I will be staying.

This hotel was in a good location near the Hoan Kiem lake and in the Old Quarter. There were plenty of great eating places nearby and it wasn't far to the night market. The staff were all courteous and friendly. The breakfast was very reasonable and included both western and Vietnamese hot options pus fruit, toast, juice tea and coffee. I actually extended my stay for a few nights and they managed to fit me in despite being obviously very busy. The only issue I had was with building noise from next door which started everyday at 7.30 and went on til 6. And it was loud, I know it wasn't their fault but when I asked for a room change it wasn't possible. It sounded like it was coming through my walls it was so loud. Apart from that it was good service and good rooms, exactly what you expect from this kind of hotel in Hanoi.

Cheap & Cheerful with a Great Location

I have stayed in this hotel twice and highly recommend it as a convenient, well priced hotel in the old quarter. The rooms are on the small side, but comfortable. The staff are excellent and will go out of their way to make sure their clients are looked after. This is one of the few hotels I have stayed in where the room actually looks the same as it does in the photos! I would stay here again for a night or two, as it has a really good location in Hanoi and was a pleasant place to stay.

Great location, great service

You're in the middle of the Old Quarter action when you step out of the hotel lobby. Less than 5min walk to the tourist info center, 1min walk to the shoe knock-offs and water puppet theater. Check-in process was quick: I was in my room in less than 5mins from the time I walked in the entrance until I was in my room. Buffet breakfast is basic (bread, fruits, noodle soup, eggs and pancakes) (same menu everyday) - enough to get me through the first 2 hours of the morning and have room for street food while walking around. All the staff I encountered were attentive, alert and pleasant. They also maintained a good balance between being friendly/chatty and letting you be. No one forgot anything or made a mistake about a request. I would only recommend for the cleaning to be improved: the tea cup I used in day 1 was not cleaned/replaced, and I stayed there for 4 days. Also, the part of the sink where it meets the wall was moldy - apart from that, the rest of the bathroom seemed clean. They also didn't change the sheets everybody - I'm ok with this (save water!), but some people may be put off by this.

Fantastic service and location

Our family of 4 stayed in the Family Room for half a day after our return journey from Lao Cai. Despite arriving at 5.30am and disturbing their sleep, the hotel staff were very kind and friendly to serve us. We also felt very welcome by the cleanliness and size of the room, which comes with a king bed and a single bed (good for 3 to 4 people). The hotel location was very ideal, right in the Old Quarter, where you can get literally everything! Good shopping, eating and drinking all in one place. The hotel staff was also very helpful to arrange train station/airport transportation and give advice on directions. Will definitely stay in Rising Dragon Legend Hotel again!

Clean hotel, good loacation!!

Overall, this hotel was all right for the price. Hotel staffs were very helpful and kind. It was pretty clean too (I found some stains of tiny blood and others on sheets but I could see they were washed so didn't really mind and other than that it was very clean). And the matress was firm and I liked it. I was in 3 different rooms in this hotel and all rooms had same, however, many standard and delux rooms don't have windows so I felt like I was in the box or something. Its toiletries were below standard. And don't forget to turn on the switch for hot water.

Breakfast included was simple with some bread, fruits and some from menu that you can order such as omelet, french toast, etc.

(I bought 2 nights on boat in Ha Long Bay through the hotel. It was a very good price compared to the prices others paid for but 3 train tieckets I got from them were terrible. Overpaid for the mid-class. Could get the best ones with the money I paid. - hotel staff will take you to your cabin on the train though with taxi fare included)

Great Service and Great Value

The Rising Dragon Legend was an ace hotel in a great location, clean, good size with great staff. We couldn't believe our luck finding this place. In the heart of the Old Quarter, the staff spoke excellent English and were extremly helpful in finding our way. Even giving us a list of taxi's to steer away from. Included in the price is breakfast, made to order.

This is a good hotel to stay if you want to be where the action is in the Old Quarter - everythng is within walking distance. The hotel entrance is easy to miss and thre is another Rising Dragon nearby - but the systematic street address system helps. The hotel lobby is long and narrow but the rooms are OK. We also booked our Ha Long Bay tour through the hotel. Happy with the service we got via email and while we are there. Overall, good value for money

Just one night

We arrive in Hanoi in the evening for just an overnight before our Cat Ba excursion. The young man at the front desk was very helpful with a restaurant recommendation, New Day Restuarant. He also assisted us with the wifi issue in the hotel, or lack of wifi, he was able to obtain the password from the bar next door so we could connect to wifi. Overall a good experience and good value for the money, would recommend to others.

I booked this hotel for an overnight

I booked this hotel for an overnight transit stay, I think the receptionist is really friendly, recommended us a nice restaurant to dine in just a block away, there is also some bar and restaurant around the block which looks good too. Location wise is not far from the lake, walking distant, abt 5-10min, lots of shops around and a street full of shoes just on the next block. It's a good hotel for backpackers. Breaksfast is okay but not a lot of choice.

very friendly, room with no streetview but inside the hotel, fresh towels daily, situated in the heart of old quarter just around the corner of the lake and water puppets. No pushing for trips.
Good breakfast, free internet! We came back here after a trip, and without booking a room again we could use the facilities (like free shower, tee/coffee and internet).

Situé dans un quartier très fréquenté, de nombreux restaurants et commerces dans les rues avoisinantes, le marché de nuit tout proche.
Beaucoup de visites accessibles à pieds depuis ce quartier, le bus menant à l'aéroport est tout proche.
Un très bon hôtel pour quelques jours de visites dans Hanoï.

近くのホテルから移動する必要があり、ハノイ在中に予約しました。ウナギの寝床のようなホテルで、安い料金だったからか、最上階のプレハブのような部屋へ通されました（6階までエレベーターで上がり、階段でもう一階上がります。6階までは普通のホテルかもしれません。）。移動前のホテルとの落差が大きかったですが、部屋、食事とも最低限のものは確保されていました。若い従業員はてきぱきとしていました。

저렴한 호텔인 만큼 딱 있을 것만 있고 방도 그리 넓진 않은 걍 잠만 잘만한 호텔. 그래도 지저분하다거나 하진 않아서 괜찮았어요. 사실 2박 예약했는데 제가 간 때가 무슨 휴일인가 사람들이 몰리는 시기여서 무슨 착오가 있었는지 첫날 방이 없어서 다른 호텔로 안내해 주더라구요.
그 호텔이 제가 원래 예약한 호텔보다 약간 떨어지기도 했고 짐을 옮겨다 주긴 했지만 암튼 번거로워져서 좀 그랬는데 차액을 돌려받기도 했고 직원들이 몇번이나 미안하다 말하며 친절하게 대해준 편이라 기분은 풀렸어요. 조식은 그냥 간단한 편이지만 먹을만했고 커피나 차 등은 식당에서 언제든 마음껏 마실 수 있어서 그 점이 좋았어요.

buen servicio y buenas camas

a pesar que está en una zona bulliciosa, en las habitaciones no se siente tanto. Muy buena atención y servicio del personal. Desayuno suficiente. Contratamos excursión a Halong Bay desde ahí y no estuvo mal (no acompañó el clima). Habitación chiquita pero Camas muy cómodas

オーバーブッキングで移動させられた

14:30頃ホテルに到着しました。しかし予約していたのにも関わらず、部屋が無いということでスタッフと1km程離れたSERENITY VILLA HOTELに移動させられました。
このホテルは部屋がより広くなっており清潔で設備もしっかりしており大変良かったです。追加料金などは無かったです。

Terrible

I booked a family room. 10pm I arrived at this hotel and they said there was not a reservation for us. rooms were fully booked. what can I do?? I had to find a new room in that cold, dark night. even I didn't get any refund!! Terrible night it was

위치좋음

직원들 친절하고, 룸상태도 비교적 깔끔합니다.
택시 불러달라고하면 바로 불러주는데 바가지 절대없어서 좋더군요.
위치는 호암끼엠호수 바로 근처여서 아침에 호수산보하기도 좋았구요, 투어예약하기도 여행사들이 많이 있어서 편리했습니다.
젤 좋았던것은 아무때나 오며가며 마실수있는 차였습니다. 커피와 홍차를 상시 준비해놓고있어서 너무 좋았습니다.
조식도 먹을만했습니다. 특히나 일행들이 패션플룻을 너무 좋아했는데 떨어지면 바로 준비해줘서 아주 잘먹었습니다.

Bra hotell för bra pris!

Bra hotell för det priset i hjärtat av gamla Hanoi. Möjlighet att gå överallt vilket är skönt. Trevlig personal, god frukost och tysta rum. Vi hade med oss vår 2-åriga dotter och det var inga problem alls. Rekommenderar hotellet för de som vill ha lite högre klass än budget.
