Good location…fairly quiet street; can get to central part of old town with 5-6 minute walk. Staff is friendly and helpful. Older hotel but overall clean.
You can exchange dollars to VND no charge. Just let front desk know ahead of time to ensure they have VND available.

Friendly, clean, reasonably-priced digs in Hanoi

This small hotel was our Hanoi home away from home, off and on, for 2 weeks. Excellent location in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, just outside the main tourist section. Close to the lake, shops, and restaurants. Clean and quiet, with a nice breakfast. The staff was excellent - whether for booking tours, tickets, limousines and Grab rides, or re-arranging our scheduled stay - and after various excursions out of town we were welcomed back as old friends. Hanoi E Central is one of the reasons we'll carry fond memories of our visit to Viet Nam back home. Thanks to Lily and all the rest of the hotel staff!

This review is all about the service and not the hotel as much. We were originally scheduled to stay here but because of eVisa delays due to Tet we were unable to make our original trip work. However Mai was able to walk us through the changing schedule and helped us rebook our transfers and food tour. She was amazing and even transfered us to a sister hotel at a discounted price since with our new date, our rooms weren't available. So we can't comment on this hotel since we didn't stay there but the sister hotel was good and the staff amazing so with the same management I'd assume this hotel would have been good as well.

The staff at this property are amazing. They are so helpful and try very hard to speak English. Lucy was amazing. She helped us organise activities and had suggestions of things to do. She made a point of remembering our names. The property is small and there are only 3 rooms to a floor. I would suggest you request a larger room. Our room was pretty small with nowhere to really put your suitcases. The location is perfect for the Fri, Sat and Sunday market.

The night we arrived it was 10.30 and Jeremy made sure our check in was smooth. He even carried all our luggage to the room. Lucy and Neo were there every step of the way supporting and helping with everything we asked. Two of ths sweetest people I have met. Both of them are bursting with energy and we heard nothing but “yes”.

Duc is a sweet boy always greeted us on our way through the door. On our last day we were getting dropped off and it was raining. Duc saw us and ran with 2 umbrellas in hand. I would not think twice to stay here on our next trip to Hanoi.
And, we had the suite on the top floor with a large balcony and amazing view. Breakfast every morning was a ritual and food was amazing. Location of the hotel is perfect to walk everywhere.

Special thanks to Mai Le for arranging airport pickup at 1:00 AM. I called from the airport in the middle because I didn’t see the precooked taxi. Though at home and not at work, you still responded and within a few minutes I saw the driver with my name at the designated pillar.
Also, many thanks to Neo for his persistent help in getting my lost airline luggage delivered to the hotel. Besides, Neo is the best among all your nice staff. Finally, thanks to the girl (don’t remember her name) wo checked me out and help me use the Grab app.

The front desk staff, especially Lucy and Neo, went above and beyond for us. They assisted with calling taxis for us, restaurant recommendations, directions and many more. The room was kept clean by the maids, the AC always worked, and the shower was hot after running it for a few minutes. I would definitely staff here again if I’m ever back in Hanoi. The hotel is close to everything in the Old Quarter. Amazing property and the staff take their jobs very seriously and will work hard to take care of you. Highly recommended.

The hotel management and service was excellent, but there were some minor issues which the hotel have been informed and hopefully make the adjustments. Shower pressure/head was weak and the aircon needed a filter clean as it seem to dampen the room. Perhaps new AC units would make the room much more newer as our AC unit looked fairly old, however we did enjoy our stay, good location for shops, food and close by to hanoi landmarks.

Overall, our stay in Hanoi E Central was truly pleasant. The staff—from Mr Vu to the wait staff in the restaurant—was more than happy to help us with the simplest things, and made sure that we were taken care of. Huge compliments to the breakfast buffet as everything was delicious. Service was exceptional, rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the location is just heavenly—we mostly walked around Old/French Quarter and only needed a taxi service once to reach a museum outside the city. Hotel is centrally located; easily walk to everything in OLD city and area. Hotel staff are all very helpful with all aspects. The breakfast is good.

The cappuccino was extra - suggest top staff/manager to label this is directly on the food menu so your hotel guests know this and doesn't get confused. had dinner there - was too tired to head out - it was OK, nothing special.

Just a couple of things I left to staff & manager to improve: bed - could use a new, bathroom: a refresh cleaning/minor caulk renew of the shower walls, to clean the molds and broken seals.

Amazing hospitality and perfect location, couldn’t ask for more!
The fact that the room was clean, lovely and comfortable is all we could have asked for, but every touch, from the welcome drink to the fruit in the room in the room for us, was above and beyond.
We even had to leave early one morning for an excursion, and the staff personally made us a to go breakfast box. We were very happy to have stayed here.

The staff have been amazing! They had our rooms ready within a short period of arrival even though we were early. Their driver was at the airport as instructed and within five minutes we were on our way. Excellent service!

They had damp cloths for our faces and fresh juice and fruits for us while we waited. Our rooms were spacious enough and they provied bottled water, and it was so nice to have a kettle for coffee and tea. The included breakfast was probably one of the best we have had any where in our travels around the globe. Bravo!!! E Central!!

I spent 8 wonderful nights at this hotel with my wife and it was amazing. From the moment we arrived and until our departure we were treated like royals by the hotel staff.The staff were polite and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Delicious free breakfast offered and we were informed that as we were staying there for 8 nights if we wanted any other food for breakfast we should inform them night before and they will get it prepared for us at no extra charge. The hotel room was a decent size and the hotel itself is within walking distance to many tourist attractions. I will definately recommend this hotel and anyone thing of staying at E central should just go ahead and book it. By far the best customer service experience recieved from hotel staff and management on my travels

A gem in the heart of Hanoi

This hotel is a gem. The location is great and the room was quiet, clean and comfortable. But the staff is what really makes this hotel wonderful. The outstanding service started the day before we checked in. I sent an email asking if the staff could help us get tickets to the Water Puppet Show. Shortly thereafter, Nam wrote back confirming that he purchased tickets for us. When we arrived at the hotel the next day, we were treated to a lovely welcome drink. Nam moved our bags up to the room and then offered to take us on a tour of the neighborhood. Later that night the staff recommended that we enjoy dinner at its sister hotel down the block. The food was great and the view even better! Breakfast the following morning was well stocked. My omelet plate was custom designed with a good morning sign. When Mr. Thang discovered that our airplane flight was delayed four hours he did everything he could to make us comfortable. This included inviting us to have a second breakfast and making me a special ginger tea for my upset stomach. I loved the tea so much that Mr. Thang gave me two boxes to take home. Thank you to all the staff at E-Central Hanoi!

Thăng is an awesome host, he greeted us when we first arrived and set up our last minute tour for the next day. We felt safe and comfortable at the hotel. An incredibly hospitable hotel with all the charm of Hanoi! The staff here are highly trained and welcoming. Food is fabulous. One of the best breakfast presentations I have seen in a boutique hotel!
Any problem was quickly sorted with graciousness and efficiency!
Well positioned for local eateries, the old quarter, wandering and - of course- a little bit of shopping!

The best customer service I have ever had

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hanoi E Central. The thing that stood out the about our stay here was the level of customer service. It was easily the best we have ever experienced.

Before we arrived we were contacted through WhatsApp(since we do not get travel cell phone plans), they greeted us and inquired about our arrival time and offered to provide us with transportation. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the staff and provided with some fresh fruit and welcome beverages.

During our stay in Hanoi we has several questions for the front desk staff. They had strong English proficiency, were very knowledgeable, and eager to help. If there was anything they did not know they wrote it down, researched it, and then provided you with the information next time they saw you, or sent the information to you throught WhatsApp.

The hotel is well located, clean, and classy. The on site restaurant was small, but had very good breakfasts. They had a small buffet spread, but they would make eggs Benedict, omlets, pho, and others to order.

Everything about our stay was enjoyable, the customer service most of all. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Hanoi.

This hotel is special! We were treated with so much respect and care. The staff is wonderful and they go the extra mile to help you in everything in your trip and you can feel that they do it from the heart. The hotel is a beautiful building in the heart of the Old Quarter, so the location is great. The room that we got was very charming and it was a very big size, and the decor was spot on (a little traditional Vietnamese with the new). We stayed for 2 nights in a different hotel and then we moved (we were not feeling that great in the other one) and \"Wow\" from the moment you get in you will love it. Just pick this hotel (thank me later). 5 Stars in every way!

Hands down the best service we’ve ever received compared to any other hotel we’ve stayed at so far! The staff are incredibly polite and genuinely went out of their way for us. We stayed here for a few nights as part of our honeymoon and they made such as effort and also gave us gifts before we left. This was the perfect choice during my wife’s and my first trip to Hanoi. Firstly, the staff were exceptional and very friendly. They provided a map with recommendations for nearby restaurants and sights. They helped to call reputable taxis and stored our additional luggage when we left to visit other areas of Vietnam. The Panoramic Room was brilliant with a little terrace so you could indulge in the sights and sounds of The Old Quarter. It is the top room in the hotel so you do have to walk up 2 flights of stairs. But the staff will move your bags for you. Staff are more than willing to help you book any activities you wish to do. They provide you with a laptop if you require it. It’s an easy walk to the Lake and loads of little cafes nearby.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel was beautiful and elegant and the location was excellent for exploring the old town. Breakfast was great and the room was spacious. Most of all, we received the best hospitality we've ever experienced. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond to accommodate us, including letting us keep our luggage here when on an overnight trip to Ha Long Bay. We stayed here at the beginning of our honeymoon and it was definitely the right choice. We felt sad when we had to leave! Thank you for such a wonderful stay in Hanoi and for making our honeymoon so special.

The staff at e central are absolutely lovely kind and extremely helpful. They are always willing to give directions and help . Nothing is too much !! We ate at the restaurant downstairs and had the local grilled fish as well as a Birthday dinner at their sister hotel down the street that was excellent. On my husbands birthday they decorated our room with balloons give him a cake and sang happy birthday to him. You really feel at home and an honoured guest. We loved our stay here and cannot recommend it enough.

The staff could not have been more helpful! Extremely polite. Awesome!
Our bedroom was a deluxe room with one king bed, breakfast buffet and free high-speed internet. The location is brilliant, very central and in the old quarter. Perfect for a short or long stay. We stayed there 11 nights !!!
The food was also amazing, lots of choice for breakfast and very good quality. We ate the Cha Ca, a specialty of Hanoi, at the restaurant of the hotel. It was beautiful and was cooked at our table by the staff who explained how to eat it & what all the ingredients were, very interesting & delicious! We enjoyed it so much that we came back twice !
Would highly recommend Hanoi E Central Hotel without any hesitation.
