It’s in the French Quarter in case you didn’t know. Dont do what we did and choose this hotel first, it will put other hotels to shame. Recommend this hotel, good for kids and storing your things. Very quiet but maybe it was a holiday..?

This was our third time at the Rex Hanoi. The staff are fantastic, and the rooms and beds are comfortable. The breakfast menu has enough choices to keep everyone happy. Our only complaints are that there is a musty smell in the rooms, (it disappears if you open the window or keep the AC on), which might just be caused by the humidity of Hanoi right now, and the condition of the cushions on the outdoor chairs in the rooftop bar. Having said that, the views from there are fabulous!

Be very careful. I was charged a \"breakage fee\" due a simple sweat stain from my baseball cap. Everything in the room is white. It is easily cleaned in the laundry. When I tried explaining this to the hotel staff, they told me that \"This is Hanoi.\" They don't launder bedding? The rude part is that I was informed by a letter slid under my door.

The reception staffs were very helpful specially during checkout. They helped me secure a ride car to airport when Grab and taxis were not available. Breakfast was great. Room staff need more training. Coffee cups were not replace and floor were not cleaned. Overall, with the pricing and location. Location is great. We were very satisfied.

This was my 2nd stay after traveling around Vietnam for a couple of weeks. Breakfast was a great way to start the day with a perfect mix of Asian and Western cuisine. Plenty of this to see and do and all within walking distance. Very friendly staff and a special mention to Ms Hannie at the front desk who always welcomed you with the biggest smile and ready to help in any way possible. I will be definitely staying at the Rex Hanoi next time I visit, wonderful property.

We had an excellent experience at Rex Hanoi Hotel. All the staff were very attentive and provided phenomenal service (reception, doormen, facilities, room service, and dining service staff). Vivian and all the dining service staff were exceptional. We recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay within Hanoi's Old Quarter area for its great location, thoughtful staff, and yummy breakfast.

Room smelly. Shower head broken, water system running through the wall to my room super loud and noisy when I use the water.
Not meeting its 4 star hotel condition.
I checked in with VIP access guest but I am not getting any of the benefits or even told about the offer. Plus not even feel as guest to the hotel. Let a lone the VIP access treatment.

The staff is nice but the hotel is run down. The lobby can fool you. Once we got into our room it was dirty and run down. The floor/carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed with toe nail clippings around the bathroom. There were little tiny bugs I kept finding. Not a comfortable stay at all

It's literally in the middle of the town where all the action takes place. A short 5-10 minute walk to beer street if you want to party at night and right next to the shopping/main circle/waterfront area, and on the weekends less than a minute away from the night market. There is a small pool and billiards/foosball table upstairs though the room gets kind of hot at times. The hotel staff is extremely accommodating and very nice with any requests that we had. If you're closer to the ground floors you may end up hearing typical noise, bike horns, music from outside at night, but you're in Vietnam so that's pretty normal.

This is the third time that I have stayed at Rex Hanoi, the staff are fantastic, especially Rose at reception, nothing is too much trouble for her. She helped us rearrange our room without any hassles. Hotel is in a great position near the lake. Try for a higher room as street noise can be a bit loud from the lower floors.

Great stay & great location. Only negative to consider is elevator only goes to floor 12 then walk a flight of stairs to pool which is inside but there is no room to lay around. There is 2 seats to sit on but everyone going to restaurant walk right past you in the pool to go ip another 6 stairs to restaurant & another lot to roof top bar. Pool is also freezing cold. We weren’t aware of this when booking.

great location and clean. excellent breakfast. great staff, friendly courteous, helpful. Overall great hotel, except I had an incident where my room was small and had to put luggage on the bed. It left some dirt marks on the duvet and I got charged for cleaning needed for the duvet. Manager was nice and discounted a $20 cost to $10. And they gave me a room upgrade when I returned back again from my overnight trip in Halong Bay. Make sure you don't dirty the duvet!

Good but nothing close to the real REX in Saigon.

It's a good hotel but it's not like the REX Hotel I have stayed in Ho Chi Minh which is a real 5 star. I've heard the owners are completely different as well. But for the price and the amazing location, I still enjoyed it. It's 2 min away by walk from the famous Shark building and my room was relatively quiet on the 10th floor. The tour they recommended me with Heritage Travel was excellent and I was able to use their very modern and new bus tour and had an excellent tour guide. The breakfast buffet was very good. I only wish some of the staff at the lobby were friendlier. I met a lot who were very kind, but also some who seemed to be colder or careless during the check-in. I would say it's only 1 or 2 people out of many, so in general I am still satisfied with my 5 nights in this hotel.

This hotel is located in the centre of the old quarter so if you are looking for the hustle and bustle of Hanoi with shops and bars, this is the location for you. Don't choose it if you are looking for a relaxing break, but do choose it you are travelling or passing through.
The hotel was very clean and the service from the staff was excellent, they really couldn’t do enough for you.
The only negative I would share is if you are looking for a hotel with a pool, this is not the hotel for you, as it’s cold and adjacent to a corridor. There is also slight street noise in the rooms, but what do you expect, you’re in the centre of Hanoi in a brilliant location.

It's not the luxurious experience you think you're paying for. The first room reakesnof dust and humidity, with con webs and dust clusters all around the room. Second room they kindly gave us was okay, but so small, with a mattress you'd expect from a hotel half the price.
The staff was super nice and helpful.
