Pros- corner room was nice. Breakfast was good.
Cons- i got food poisoning at the hotel restaurant. Most likely the prawns (thai dish). Told me 20% off but did not apply then when receiving the bill. Considering the cost of the dinner, i was extremely disappointed in all aspects. Pool was cold at 3pm despite 36 celcius. Not a lot of sunlight hits the pool area. Construction all around the hotel ongoing.

Not exactly a walking distance to anything but they do have a free shuttle service to petchburi metro station. Was an easy grab taxi to the airport

Arrived late at night the original room they gave me had not been updated. The mattress cover was stained with red wine.
Front desk staff upgrading me to a nicer room.
plenty of water in the room which is served in glass bottles as opposed to plastic which is a nice place.
Looks like they were spending money at the hotel redoing the front driveway unfortunately one of the elevators was down so it made going to the room a little slower at times. Overall, a decent four star hotel staff were pleasant and helpful.

My wife and I were disappointed with the breakfast buffet, they only catered to a specific group of people. We were hoping to experience local delicacies since we were in Thailand. Fruits selection were limited, almost the same “Indian menu” every morning, fried eggs were cold because they stacked them 5-6 high.
Room cleaning was good. Bottled water, tissues, and toilet paper were replenished everyday.
Not a whole lot of shops around the hotel, long walks to see other establishments.
The duty driver (Wednesday at 1:00PM) lied to us about the free shuttle to Terminal 21. He said that we missed it, and try again the next day, until I told him that we used the same service 2 days ago and showed him the hotel desk shuttle service. Unbelievable!

You get what you pay for with this hotel. Room is cheap and as a result hotel is tired and stuck in the 80s. Furniture is drab and rooms lacking any homeliness. It is very out of the way and not close to stations. Pool area is rough around the edges and impossible to relax in with constant work from building of hospital next door.

I asked for a quiet room, which got confirmed, when I got to the room it was very noisy from the main street and construction right in front of the building.
They didn't want to change to cheaper room, because i paid for a more expensive room, I had to talk to two people to finally change to a quiet room for that night and switch rooms again the next day.

The rooms are definitely not five-star more like a three-star hotel. The service generally was excellent though and from reception it does look like a five-star hotel. However the sauna and steam rooms were not operational during my stay which is a shame because I wanted to use them and they are quite small too. The room did have a safe and a fridge which was very good to have. The bathroom did have some mould in the tub area which was not very pleasant but didn't really detract from my stay.

Hotel is well located for transport with the Makkasan station being within easy walking distance. Service was good from all of the staff. My room was very much what I expected -clean and comfortable bed - I would say it is good value for the money.

The decor and room are very dated and wasnt cleaned properly when i checked in. There was someone elses hair and food crumbs near the bed. The shower had pink marks on the tiling and the shower door got stuck several times. No extra toilet paper was left as a backup incase i ran out. No power sockets in the bathroom was inconvenient. No streaming services on television for guests wanting to watch English speaking content. It seems the public spaces in the hotel are well maintained, but the rooms themselves need work, particularly when it was supposed to be an upgraded room. Not really 5* hotel when compared with 5* hotels these days. Hotel room was super basic.

One of my favorite hotels in Thailand! Location, price, staff, gym, clean and safe!

I wish the menu was smaller and was more traditional like it used to be here years ago. Food is ok but expensive and not as tasty as street food.
Update TVs to smart TVs and upgrade internet!
No real complaints! I love this hotel.

Highly recommended! Looks better in person, very friendly staff, great food, clean and luxurious. The only negative part is they take a deposit of 1000 TBH per night and the lighting at night in the room is non existent, can hardly see anything, otherwise it’s worth staying here.

The hotel is fine for a place to sleep, but the hotel really needs an upgrade. Rooms are shabby, bathroom had chipped tiles.
Staff are wonderful and service is great, just the facilities are a bit lacking. Also some construction going on so quite loud and hard to sleep.

We showed up early after a red eye flight and tried to check in. We had to pay an extra fee to get into our room early, we did know the check in times but thought maybe thered be a little understanding after flying 17 hours straight. One of the beds had sand in between the sheets. There is construction going on next door to the hotel but it didnt bother us like it did for some.

The staff are all wonderful. They're eager to help and make our stay better. I booked 2 rooms. Front desk gave us connecting rooms. One smelled like smoke while the other waa fine. My granddaughter has asthma and couldn't possibly stay in that room. My mom and sister stayed there until they sprayed the room. The bell boys were fast. They already had our luggages in the room when we went in. The transportation service is top notch. Phanom was excellent. He drove us around Bangkok for 3 days.The pool area has a bar, showers, change room and towel station. However, both the adult and kiddie pools have mold.

Not a bad stay for the price, but the room I was in was severely outdated and the carpet was old and quite unpleasant. The bathroom was in poor condition with water damage to the bathroom door, which meant it couldn’t be closed properly. It felt a bit dirty and dingy. The lobby and outside of the hotel looked lovely though.

Bad 'chef', bad attitude, bad hygiene, a liability

We booked 3 nights on HB, we don't eat lunch so all good was taken care of. On our last night I chose the penne pasta with tomato sauce. When it arrived Ifound the sauce to be very thick with a bad taste. I think it was just a few cherry tomatoes and some awful tomato paste. I tried to eat it but had to give up. I asked the waitress to change it. She apologised and tookk the plate away. She quickly returned to tell me the 'chef' says there is nothing wrong with it and has refused to change it.
Can you imagine that, and in a Mercure Hotel??!! I was intending to complain next morning but events overtook that. All evening, my stomach ached. At 10pm, I needed the toilet. While using the toilet, I suddenly became dizzy, cold sweats and feeling really awful. That passed about 5 mins later, I was still using the toilet. Suddenly and without warning I projectile vomited. Most went into the handbasin but also on the floor. I went down to reception to ask for some cleaning materials. The hotel kindly sent a cleaner to our room.
This is a fabulous hotel, fabulous, friendly and helpful staff let down by just one individual, a complete liability. The hotel manager was very apologetic and promised action would be taken to prevent the maverick 'chef' from ever interacting with future guests. So, after some consideration, I feel 5 stars would be excessive even though well deserved by 99.9% of the staff. I was very poorly, vomiting an additional 4 times during the night so 3 stars

There is a massive building site right in front of the hotel buildinga hospital, they are laying the foundations, and are on site all week from 7am till 7pm. Including Saturdays. So if you're looking for a relaxing stay...forget it

The hotel was nice in general. The common areas were very nicely remodeled but the rooms were dated and the bathrooms had some mildews. The property location is a bit out of the way and not close to public transportation. The restaurants were nice but everyone in our group complained about the napkins being starched so stiff that they were uncomfortable to use.

This hotel is not in a very central location but is very affordable. Alot of airlines use this hotel for their flight attendants. The lobby is spacious and beautifully kept but the rooms need updating. Although clean and the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom could use some TLC. The location is a bit out of the touristy area by the river. They did honor the dining discount received from booking thru Expedia as a silver member but didn't honor any upgrade. There is a free shuttle to CentralWorld shopping Mall. The restaurant and bar is nice and the food surprisingly good. The staff in the restaurant is superb.
