Loved the hotel. Beds very comfortable. Just wish we hadn’t been on the 2nd floor as the kitchen is on the third and our room was directly below it. Being woken at 5.30am by noise of staff preparing breakfast and moving furniture was disappointing.

A comfortable place in the heart of Kaoshiung

This is a very pleasant hotel close to Kaoshiung Train station and MRT.Also good area to catch local buses.The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a good range of food for breakfast. This hotel is very peaceful and beds are comfortable. Everything good for a short stay.

Also staff kind letting us stay in the lounge area even after check out time.

Hotel location is good. Next to Kaohsiung Train and MRT station. Room decor looks OLD. My room, the Walls have alot of crack lines. I have to fight and kill mosquitos during my 3 night stays.
We were given a accessibility room which we did not request and worse of all it's beside a smoking access door. Throughout the stay there are so many ppl opening that door which we can hear and they don't bother to closed!

Close proximity to Kaohsiung metro station, nearby 7-11 and a local night market. Hotel looks new and clean. Breakfast is simple typical Taiwan style, the braised meat is must try , very very fragrant .
Free use of washing machine but dryer need to pay (20NTD) 30 mins. Definitely recommended to stay here for the convenience. Take the loft room something special for the kids.

Great location

The place is very near to the Kaohsiung train station, very convenient to walk there with big luggage. We have 2 connected rooms so good for 3 of us with 2 toilets. Service was polite and we called to informed them as the flight was delayed at Taipei so we also missed the HSR but they was grateful to wait. There is a 7-11 store nearby so very convenient. Breakfast selections are limited but good enough for the price that we paid. Laundry is free with powder provided, only need to pay for dryer but is very cheap. Was deciding between Kaohsiung station or Formosa boulevard station hotels, glad that I made the right decision on this hotel. Will definitely stay here again if I visit Kaohsiung again.

This hotel had a great location! It was right on top of the Kaohsiung train station. We really liked our loft, it had so much space and was clean. However, the bathroom is a little outdated. We were worried about the construction happening at the train station but luckily they stopped at night. My only gripe is that check in time is quite late and we had to log into the free wifi every single time we would leave the room.

Modern and clean hotel. Comes with free Taiwanese breakfast with some western food items. The room is moderately spacious. Because of Taiwanese laws, only essential amenities are provided like shampoo. conditioner, body wash, and soap. Location is convenient as it is a few minutes walk from the Kaohsiung station. Check-in is a bit interesting. They have a self check-in and check-out electronic kiosk, but they do insist in helping and guiding you through the check-in process--at this point, why not use the front desk? Besides that, everything was fine.

The good.
Room was a nice size, the double level is a nice touch.
View was good.
Bed & pillows are super comfortable.

The bad
Air con sounds like an a380 on take off power.
Shower nozzle is very low in height.
Shower is over a bath so no room.
Couch is a sleeper couch so constantly wants to slide out when sitting.

A gem of a hotel standing in plain view.

Staff were helpful, and the washer-dryer service was nice to have. The breakfast was plentiful, good, and included. Yay!

I had two small gripes: 1) there was no towel rod near the sink (which was outside the bathroom. Where should I put a hand towel, then?

2) The dyers had signs saying not to adjust the temperature control of the dryer. But the dryer I was using was set at a temperature too low to dry my clothes. Only when I turned the temperature up was I able to get my clothes dry.

Lousy hotel!!

The staffs are unfriendly and rude. Their attitude was bad when I asked to changed my room. I stayed there for 4 nights. The room was at 2nd floor. It's so small and hot was the west sun shinning in. When i asked if they can changed my room on my 2nd or 3rd day, they just simply refuse to even look into it and kept telling me it's full. On my 3rd and 4th day, i can tell that many rooms on the higher floor are not occupied as their balcony lights were not on. The staffs are just lazy as the rooms are allocated by the computer system and they refuse to make any changes.
The hotel does not provide any toiletries and claimed that theur government didn't allow that as they need to be environmental friendly. Nonsense, they just wanted to sell the toiletries to make more money!!

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is very convenient to the train station and centrally located. We had a loft room which was quite spacious and I think really great value for the price. The breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay there again.

The property has self-service check-in but a staff member was there to take us through the process. Staff were pleasant and helpful. At reception at least a couple of staff members had good English. The property looks reasonably new and is in good condition. The room and bathroom are very compact but acceptable for a couple of nights. Unlike other hotels we have stayed at they don't provide slippers, toothbrushes etc. The hotel is located just a stone's throw from Kaohsiung Main Station.

The accommodation was well equipped with many charging points and came with a bath tub that my daughter really enjoyed. It is located just next to KaoShiung MTR which is very convenient.

We stayed at a loft unit at level 7 but just a comment that the level 1 carpet was a bit stained.

The hotel staff also allowed us to deposit our luggage till late 8pm (after check out) which was very helpful.

Convenient location for those commuting on railway and Kaohsiung Metro Red Line (although inconvenient Red-Orange transfer at Formosa Boulevard station adds slight disadvantage, since most attractions are along Orange Line). Connectivity to Kaohsiung Main Station is expected to be further improved after station exit at hotel side is completed in 2024.
Room is clean and equipped with effective soundproof windows. Buffet breakfast is decent as well. Despite I was allowed to wait at L3 lounge between 1-3pm before room was ready for check-in, it would be great if front desk is friendlier.

Lost its former glory and slipping to 2 star

Used to love this hotel. Wonderful location. The \"bones\" of building are still good; however, management simply is not taking care of the property. The carpets are wearing out, the linens are thread bare and frayed, long term cleaning is subpar, and little things are broken and worn everywhere. I hope the owners decide to invest a little money and return the property to its former condition. However, for now it is simply into the realm of a sad tired 2 star property. On a bright note, the staff is helpful and the breakfast is wonderful.

Hotel room - Grand Loft. They setup a pull out sofa bed on the 1st floor, and on the 2nd, there was a King and a single 'bed' (platformed sitting area turned bed). Both floors have a big TV, desk and bathroom on the first floor. The bathroom was a tight squeeze, with toilet and bathtub together, sink area outside. The setup worked for us, but i can see how it might be a bit inconvenient for families with children and elderly having to maneuver up and down the stairs. Balcony faced the huge construction of Kaohsiung Railway Station so we kept it closed most of the time. Service was average, the staff looked indifferent to us coming and going. In my opinion, this hotel wins big on location. It is the closest hotel to Kaohsiung Station in my opinion. Just a short walk across the street!

We loved the loft, and the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom is on a smaller side, but nothing inconvenient.

The area where the hotel is is currently undergoing a massive construction which will be complete in 2023. Once the new station and it's surrounding area are finished, I'm sure it'll be nice.

高雄駅目の前のロケーションでアクセスは文句なしですが、現在高雄駅&周辺の工事のため日中ホテルに滞在したい方には工事音が相当響くかと。(工事の為ちょっと埃っぽい)
7階ロフトのお部屋はとっても良かったです。ベランダ付き、物干しスタンドあったので長期滞在の方には嬉しいかも。
朝食はホテル代相応かな？豊富ではないですが一通り揃っています。

Staff on duty were really awkward to me as a foreigner who lives in Taiwan. I know they wanna practice English but I was speaking Chinese, and worse is telling me I have to provide a passport when I already handed them my residency card. This happens at one out of three hotels, but I didn't go through the trouble of immigrating to another country to carry my passport around every day and be treated like a tourist.

Wifi vouchers are inconvenient, plus even though my stay was for two nights they only gave me wifi for one night which cut off my work suddenly. Business travelers are tired and don't wanna go to the lobby and negotiate another wifi voucher every night.

Although the sofa wasn't old or anything, it did have obvious love stains from another guest and needs a wash

The room layout was unique with a balcony and 2 storey like environment. 2 TV in the room allow u to watch different TV programme at the same time. so you wont have any competing issue with your friend or family. the only down part is the hotel canteen or cafeteria wasn't open beyond mid night.the breakfast was ok but without any changes and much varieties.

The Water Gate Hotel is new and tidy , very close to Kaohsiung Station and convenient to different places! But the breakfast is not attractive, less food to choose! The bed is too soft Anyway, I will be back! Hope the food choice of breakfast will have improvement when I come next time!

Hotel looks super clean and nice! Space looks bigger than what we expected.

It was also a 3 mins walk from the station, which is super convenient and has a 711 just a few steps away.

The facility is also very secured as we had an access pass to enter in and out if the facility after 12am.

The breakfast place was also very pretty. Looks like a cafe and has a big display screen screening movies.

Overall, really enjoyed our stay at the loft and everything was beyond our expectations! Loved the place!!

My new go-to hotel in Kaohsiung

I have nothing but good things to say about Watermark Hotel.
They were very accommodating, giving me a room with a balcony when I requested it.
The bed was extremely comfortable - the sort of bed that you just melt into.
The previous reviews talking about how difficult the hotel is to get to are outdated. The construction around the area has progressed to a point now that the hotel can easily be accessed directly from the train station. It's right across the street from the station!
The breakfast was also good - enough variety that anyone should be able to find something they like. They also make free coffee and snacks available on the 3rd floor all the time.
