Gorgeous 600 year old building right in the historic center. Great staff, gorgeous rooftop terrace with 360 degree views of Naple. Huge wooden door that closed at night for safety and for noise. Completely quiet even though it was a busy Friday night. Clean room and given a free drink in the lobby after 6:00. The elevator is very old and can only house two people at a time but still it great working condition. Would stay again.

Staff were lovely & very helpful but the facilities were well below what you might expect for a 4 star hotel. Beds were rock solid - this wasn't a preference thing, it literally felt like we were sleeping on a block of wood. Breakfast choices were limited. Coffee making facilities were in the hallway. Showers were either scalding hot or freezing cold. Hugely expensive for what it was and glad it was only one night.

Wow! This property is a gem! The staff is friendly, accommodating, and wonderful with communication. Our suite was spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious with great coffee and many options including pastries,eggs, yogurt and fruit. The hotel is located in a congested area with limited vehicle accessibility but staff helped us with our arrival. The entrance to the hotel is gated and accessed by code after hours, adding to safety.
Plenty of old world charm with modern convenience and safety.

The property was hidden behind a quirky traditional door which opens in to a courtyard to gain access to the hotel.

Staff were friendly and on hand to assist with any help we required and also provided tips and information to make the most of our trip to to Naples.

The suite we stayed in had a split level sleeping arrangement which made the room spacious and the large window opened on to a Juliet balcony overlooking the busy street below.

This hotel ideally situated in Naples historic centre and within easy walking distance to all attractions.

Unique Boutique Hotel experience

Great two night stay in the heart of Naples. Modern bedroom and bathroom. Clean and comfortable. Very tasty breakfast. Good service from all staff, especially those on the front desk who catered for our every need. Great restaurant recommendations. Great air conditioning as it was very hot in Naples when we stayed. This hotel is truly unique and different, from the entrance doorway and lift to the staircases and outside terrace. It isn't the cheapest hotel, but look no further.

Charming hotel feels like a city Villa with historic furnishings but with all the modern conveniences- they think of everything and it was very comfortable. Let me start with the good: the staff are very helpful and friendly, the room was nicely appointed, roomy, and clean. The hotel is close to restaurants and cafes. Unfortunately, the area that the hotel is in is covered in graffiti and while it’s not unsafe, it certainly doesn’t make a good impression when you arrive. You also may not be able to get a taxi or car directly to the hotel depending on the time of day. We were dropped off a couple of blocks away by our taxi and really struggled to find the hotel as there was only a big metal door (with graffiti all over it) and a small sign. Eventually we found the intercom and the staff opened the gate. Once we got in we liked the hotel, but we were not prepared for how rough the area was.

This serendipitous find was a godsend during our first night in Naples, when we unexpectedly found ourselves without a hotel reservation. Hidden behind a graffiti-covered green gate on Spaccanapoli (the most bustling street of the city), this hotel itself is situated on several floors of the former residence of a count. We stayed in a family suite with a loft that had two additional twin beds perfect for our two teenagers. They have the option to have breakfast in their small dining room, which was fresh and delicious, especially their house-made orange marmalade and custom-made omelettes. There is also a beautiful terrace, which gives stunning views of the city of Naples!
Special thanks to Licia and Gennaro, who were working the 24-hour front desk during our short stay, and helped us immensely! Licia guided us on the phone at night, when we could not locate it behind the closed gate. She also helped us call a taxi and personally helped us wheel our luggage to the nearest taxi stand after we checked out. The hotel stored our luggage safely after we checked out while we toured the city and felt very safe, well-maintained and convenient. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy a few days in the heart of Napoli!

I stayed at the Hotel Santa Chiara in Napoli for nine nights, with a friend, in February 2025. Our room (no. 207) was a pleasure: large, high-ceilinged, tile-floored, well furnished, beautiful. The hotel is in a restored palazzo, and that's evident. There is a rooftop with splendid views of the city and the bay. --- The staff were helpful, attentive, & knowledgeable; the atmosphere was calm and pleasing; we were welcomed, left alone when we wanted to be & attended to when we wanted to be, which is the essence of a good hotel. --- The hotel fronts Spaccanapoli, which is the liveliest street in the city. Many bars, cafés, restaurants, churches, & everything else you can imagine, are within yards. The Dante metro stop is seven minutes away on foot. There are buses and taxis closer than that. This is an ideal place to stay. And Naples is a gorgeous, chaotic, energetic city full of beauty. We'd have liked to stay longer.

This was a perfect place to stay in Naples. It's right off Spaccanapoli, which means its a super walkable area with a lot nearby. I found staying here is probably preferable to the Via Toledo area, which is much busier (though both are busy). The hotel was super clean (our room actually got cleaned multiple times a day, if anything it felt excessive!) and it feels private, safe, and quiet, despite being right off a major pedestrian street. There's a nice little rooftop hangout space and a friendly and helpful 24-hour check-in. Would absolutely say here again!

The staff was terrific. Very helpful and responsive. The hotel is a bit challenging to find as no cars are allowed on it's little cobblestone alleyway. Arriving in that area in Naples, with wall to wall graffiti everywhere is a bit disconcerting, especially at 7am when the streets are pretty deserted. However, by mid morning everything was bustling and we had a wonderful day, taking lots of suggestions from the hotel staff.

An awesome secluded hotel in the middle of the Spanish Quarter. It took a while to find it as it is hidden off the street in a courtyard. Beautiful condition and style. Very friendly and professional staff greet you. It has a private fifth floor terrace where you can see the city.

What a great hotel! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Great location - step outside the quiet courtyard into the hustle and bustle of Naples at it's best! The room was lovely - we had a bed and bathroom on the main level and our adult children enjoyed the upper level with twin beds and comfortable seating area. There was a mini-bar hard to figure out the prices? We didn't have the breakfast option as we wanted to enjoy the food out on the street. We will stay here again if we ever return to Naples.

Licia at the front desk was so helpful! We were only there for a short time but she arranged an early am transfer during a taxi strike and messaged our confirmation via WhatsApp while we were out and gave us the best pizza recommendation close by. Still dreaming of it. We also had trouble finding an atm and messaged her and she gave us a location immediately. Really amazing service. We’re typically diy travelers, but everyone has an off day and she really made things easier for us. Even offered us Prosecco when our arrival transfer from another hotel didn’t go as planned.

Hotel was boutique-y and beautiful and an awesome location with a beautiful terrace that you can see the water and mt Vesuvius from with a glass of wine from the bar! Hope to stay here again for longer than a night!

This hotel was in a brilliant location ( a hidden treasure behind a large medieval gate) as soon as you step outside the courtyard you are greeted by many historical sites and awesome places to eat. The hotel itself is very quite. Our room was overlooking the main street and weren't disturbed once with noise. The air conditioning was excellent. Their roof terrace is another hidden gem. The views were spectacular over the city. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and went above and beyond when the taxis all went on a flash strike the morning for our departure. A special shout goes out to Camilla who was brilliant with her dining recommendations, drinks on the roof terrace and helpful nature.

Worth finding this beautiful property

Hotels are struggling to get workers so laundry wasn’t available but they were able to find someone to do ours as well as arranging good restaurants and reasonable taxis. Hard to find this place but worth the search. Beautiful, palatial room. We had to park in a nearby garage that damaged our car so be sure to take photos of your car first on all sides and use a torch (flashlight) to look over car when you retrieve it to not make the costly situation we had. Better yet, take a train to Naples as taxis and Uber are plentiful and not too costly.

Once you pass through the gated doors, it is beautiful. This is a 1700’s apartment building. Large spacious rooms in the heart of the older part of Naples. Bed was very comfortable. Large bathroom & shower. The staff were friendly and attentive.

A secret hideaway hidden behind huge arched doors in the middle of the historical centre. Fantastic service and advice from the wonderful receptionists. A mix of contemporary and historical interiors, the bed was comfy, the room clean and a very tranquil environment.

Comfortable room with a good mattress. They do have an elevator.
Location in the old center is great. Good rooftop terrace.

Parking available at nearby private lot- it's expensive, but that should be expected in this area. Follow their directions to the lot and look for signs and you shouldn't have any trouble finding it.

Can't speak to the breakfast. We had an early flight and weren't able to eat. They did give us a bag with a banana and a packet of Oreos though... There is a hot water kettle in the room, which is very appreciated early in the morning.

Only complaint was the loud AC unit in the room. Made it difficult to sleep. Couldn't sleep with the window open due to street noise on a Saturday night. Other nights are probably quieter.

This hotel is amazing! We learned that it was located within the town center and was fully restored. When you arrive on the street you have to walk through a garage door to see the hotel and we were so impressed when we walked through the door. It is a truly beautiful building hidden in the hustle and bustle of the busy city. The woman that greeted us was so friendly and provided recommendations for us to eat. The room was so clean and decorated so lovely and the bathroom and shower was great. We only stayed one night in between our travels and wish we had got to spend more time. When we visit Naples again, we will certainly stay here!

The location was central to Naples and within a mile of all major sites. It is on the busy Spaccanapoli road with many eclectic shops and restaurants but set back from the street. The staff couldn’t have been more lovely or helpful. There is a nice terrace on the 5th floor with lounge seating for relaxing.

The property was very updated and unique along with very polite staff.

It was extremely difficult to locate the hotel.

There was a rotten smell that would consume our room whenever we turned on the air conditioning. It smelled like sewer or rotting trash.

A little palace in Naples

We stayed in Santa Chiara boutique hotel for 2 nights. The reception stuff (3 replacing people) were amazing. They are available 24 hours, always helpful and delivering every wish with a true smile and good will. The best service I got in a hotel. The location is perfect, just in the middle of the main market street, but stile, very peaceful and quite. The room was spacious, super clean and smelled great. Breakfast was perfect.

Great Hotel and staff. The location does not allow drive up to leave off luggage, you must park at a commercial garage, walk the streets with luggage. Best to take a taxi, they can get you to the front gate.

This hotel is absolutely delicious in every way, except finding it.
Being city dwellers from LA and quite street savvy, we ignored previous reviews and attempted to drive there ourselves. DO NOT. Unless you want to fight with your partner for 2 hours and absolutely hate the place before you even arrive. Just park the car in a safe lot and take a taxi- or better yet, don't bring a car at all.
Finding the hotel via car is virtually impossible because- 1. GPS/Apple maps/Google maps don't work in Napoli. 2- The map the hotel sends you is too small and doesn't show you how to get out of the place where the GPS takes you (which is the Piazza Gesu Nuovo.) After 2 HOURS of driving around and around in circles, and several frustrated and fruitless phone calls to the front desk, we finally found a guy on a scooter who agreed to lead us there. Thank God my husband speaks Italian, or we may never have made it.
However, once in, we were so happy to be there. The property is located in a maze of tiny medieval cobblestone roads in the heart of the historical district of Napoli, which is a beautiful neighborhood full of energy and character. Probably the best in the city. We felt totally safe there and were just amazed by how cool Napoli is, despite its terrible reputation.
So the irony is, the location of this hotel is truly the best - a hidden secret gem - and that's what makes it so terrible to find on day one. Bottom line: Don't skip Napoli, stay here, take a taxi! :D

When the taxi drops you on the narrow, crowded street among the pizzerias, souvenir shops, bars, and pastry shops DON'T PANIC! You are in the right place! An iron gate leads to a dingy courtyard with a tiny elevator at the far end. Squeeze yourself and your bags into it and head to the 2nd floor where you will be greeted with a smile and shown to your lovely room. This area is one of the most bustling in Naples, full of tourists and shops, but all the activity is blocked out when you close the door to your room. This is a true boutique hotel, so don't look for \"usual\" amenities, but unlimited food and drink are literally steps from your room!

Unique property with amazing location and lots of space for a family of four. We could walk to restaurants and sites. The roof top patio has a fantastic view. Staff were friendly and helpful!

Spacious rooms, clean, great location. Helpful staff, but ok breakfast. Why was the bread / muffins stale.. who knows? Given the helpfulness, you would think they’d resolve that. Shower kept going out once a day, probably an issue in our room vs others.

Eggs at breakfast had to be requested as opposed to some standard selections being present. Despite this, we found this hotel to be comfortable because of the helpfulness of staff, convenience of not carrying your key around, late night security and in the midst of everything.

The room was ok, the staff very good, but getting to hotel and finding it was a nightmare. Got dropped of about 100 metres from hotel. Had to carry 2 large and 2 small suitcases along a stoned street, not knowing exactly where our hotel was. Had to ring hotel twice before we found it. It was behind a large graffiti filled door, with nothing but a very small name plate to the side, no more than 10cmsx 6cms in size , high up on the side wall. So no direct view . Needs a more sightable sign. Only found because we asked a local. We then buzzed the reception and the old creaky doors opened up to a pretty messy courtyard. We were told to get the lift to second floor. No real instructions on a lift that was tiny in size and old enough , and decrepit looking as well. Got to second floor and was met by reception. Who then helped us. Then got told our room was on 4 th floor.
Staff were great, room was pleasantly nice, but the overall view of the area that the hotel is in, was very dirty and run down. I was happy it was just an overnight stay. Would I recommend it? Only to people I don’t like. I would stay right away from it. Took a video of it, to show my friends how bad it is. Like I said rooms and reception area was good. Staff were great as well. But they can’t make up for the other isdues

Beautiful hotel. We stayed in room 207 and it was fantastic, so big and beautiful. Juliet balcony to the hustle and bustle of the street below. Bed so comfy and beautiful linen. Situation perfect and right in the heart of Naples. Missed the roof top terrace and did not realise until we got home that there was one. Highly recommended.
