The staff was very nice and helpful in arranging an elephant sanctuary tour and even opened the kitchen early for us so we could breakfast and make the tour pickup! Spacious family room. If you want a clean, convenient and quiet hotel, this is the place for you. Our family stayed here for four days and we have only have good things to say about it. The staff are hard working and the hotel is a serene oasis in thr bustling city. Great value for money. We would stay here again. It was fantastic!

It was a very nice hotel. Good breakfast. Nice staff. Its too far to walk to most places and the beach in front of the hotel is not big enough to relax, the waves come all the way up to the seawall so there is no place to put your stuff.

Great stay for 5 nights in the heart of the city. East walking all around the old city. Only thing I noticed was the thin doors and the loud lock noises. That was the only thing of note, we are deep sleepers so it wasn’t a problem in the night but heard in the mornings and at night.
The pool facility was nice and enjoyable after long days out around the city. And reception held on to our luggage when we arrived early off the train!

The first night we stayed in building A. It is the older building. We were on the second floor and the smoking area was right outside our window. Our room smelled of smoke. People were outside chatting in the smoking area until 3:30 am. We asked to change rooms and they were very accommodating. We were moved in Building B the new building. It was such an improvement and we enjoyed the rest of our stay there. Ask for building B and don’t stay in building A.

This is a great hotel in the heart of Chiang Mai, just 5 minutes walk from the magnificent Wat Chedi Luang Temple complex. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. It is very quiet at night and yet there are lots of restaurants nearby. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

It’s right in the middle on the walking street market so be prepared for a very busy Sunday but that’s the highlight of the day.

This hotel is comfortable and centrally located. The beds are soft. It was clean and pleasant. The breakfast was minimal but adequate of toast and cereal and of course coffee or tea.

Hotel location was excellent right in the center of old city and everything was walking distance. They had free water bottles at the front desk for us at all times. Room was comfortable and clean. We were also able to book our taxi to the airport with the hotel which was convenient. Overall would recommend this hotel for a budget friendly and convenient experience!

We had booked a twin suite on wotif but when we arrived at 10pm we were given a single queen room. Upon complaining they gave us a foldout bed which had no linen. Sharing the bed was not an option for us due to one having the flu and the other not wanting to catch it. The night staff were unable to locate extra linen for the foldout cot. The next morning they were able to accommodate us in the room we had booked as we stood over them at reception as other guests were checked out and asked for their room. This issue with room booking seems to be a known issue for them.
The amenities around the pool were disappointing as all the seats and tables were dirty from being outdoors and unattended. Worse was the decking around the pool, One of the boards broke as I was leaving the pool and I fell through the decking, thankfully not hurting myself seriously but when I reported it to staff there was little reaction other than offering me some tylenol and putting a chair over the broken chipboard. I saw no evidence of anything had been done about fixing it before the end of my stay.

With so many choices for places to stay I would not revisit the Estia. Though it has a great location and bed, we had no hot water to take a shower. The staff was rude and completely detached, no ambiance or character. Though it does have a little pool, the lounge chairs were in disrepair -filthy, torn cushions and broken wood frames.

65 year old couple touring Thailand for 2 months and found this hotel, although a little dated, to be very comfortable and clean. We originally booked for 3 nights but stayed for 9 nights. Enjoyed very much, lots to see and do. Staff were amazing, absolutely nothing was too much trouble, especially Hmee who helped in so many ways. Pool was a great bonus as temperatures were over 40 degrees. Would highly recommend this hotel. Nothing flash but great value for money.

This hotel is in a fantastic location right in the middle of old Chiang Mai - great for walking around the city & any excursion pickups you may have. However, the Hotels.com photos were pretty deceptive - the hotel is certainly a lot more run down that it appears in the photos. They changed our sheets daily, and each time there were very visibly dirty (same with the towels). Hotel staff was nice & helpful and overall we had a good stay - just not as nice as we had expected.

I can't speak highly enough of this hotel! It's nothing fancy, but the value for the money is amazing. The location is fantastic, you are in the center of old city and walking distance to so much. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff..the staff made my visit to chiang Mai. They are so helpful and accommodating with everything from booking tours to arranging random trips to places you want to go. They really went above and beyond for us! On our last day the taxi we booked ourselves to the airport didn't show up and we were worried about missing our flight...the gentlemen at the front desk called around trying to get us another taxi and when he couldn't he cleaned out his car to drive us himself!

Almost everything about this hotel was excellent. Perfect location inside the old city. Clean and comfortable. Helpful staff. Little pool out back was perfect for cooling off. The walls are a little thin. No issues at night really, it was just startling how much you could hear from the hallways when people were getting up.

We stayed here for our first two nights in chiang mai. Overall this was a good hotel although we felt that the price was a little high especially considering that breakfast was not included. Room was spacious, I was able to easily roll out my yoga mat, the bed was very comfortable and there were over 60 t.v. Channels including western channels. Great little swimming pool to cool off in after sightseeing and the location was good, within walking distance to all sights. Bathroom could use a bit of an update, it was hard to shower without getting the entire floor wet. There were some little fleas or mosquitos in the room when we arrived, but we found we had to use repellent while in chiang Mai wherever we went.

Prime location in the centre of old city, you can walk around temples and weekend night market in the main streets. English of hotel staff are not very good and seems not very patient to answer our requests of some local tours information. The hotel room looks quite old and provide basic needs only.

My husband and I stayed here for just two nights, but thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, location, price, and comfortable bed. The water pressure was nice in the bathroom and we had hot water. There was a small pool, but we never swam in it. It was a bit cold at night in December, but it didn't make a difference. If you come on a Sunday, you MUST got to the night market...it was amazing!!

This hotel is in a great location in the Old City. The Sunday night market is right outside. The reviews complaining about the noise might be overblown as we were not disturbed by the school across the street nor by monks chanting, but it could be dependent on room location. The staff was friendly and the rooms were pretty well kept.

The hotel is a bit hidden but off a main road, which allows you to get anywhere fast! Nearby are spas, restaurants, temples, shopping, etc. There's a beautiful pool and spa but not a \"hot tub\". Those seem to be hard to find. The hallways are a bit loud so bring earplugs. You can also hear the kids in the school across the street and the morning Muslim prayer call. The front desk staff was helpful, but their English was a bit limited so there was a bit of communication trouble. We managed though. It was a pleasant place.

The only complaint I would have about this hotel, was that the room we had was facing the preschool across the street, and even with all the windows shut and a/c on, it was a bit noisy starting around 8 am. If you don't sleep in, or maybe if you have a room on the other side of the hotel, this may not be an issue. Aside from that, it was a really great place to stay. Close to the Sunday Night Walking Street at the heart of Chiang Mai, so it's a perfect weekend stay. The room was clean and spacious, and offered a nice view of the area. I would stay again, but I would probably specify a room in the back.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences in my life. Frankly, I booked on the advice of expedia reviews and I was sorely disappointed. If you like to sleep in past about 7am in the morning (or at least have the option to), then this is NOT the place for you. With a temple on one side of the building ringing their prayer bells, and a primary school on the other, playing national anthem and screaming at the kids through loudspeakers -- PLUS every little movement in the corridor outside reverberating and shaking the door -- there is precious little peace offered here. The walls are also paper thin, so easily able to hear others in the room next door. On top of that, the staff were nearly impossible to deal with at a level any more complex that \"call taxi\" or \"keep key\" -- English atrocious! And, typical for Thailand hotels, they are on the take with everything. Laundry and taxis at LEAST double price - first day, charged 200baht for a Tuk Tuk!! I wish I could say this was a comfortable stay, but 7 days of this torture test wore my nerves to the nub! Beware of positive reviews for this hole -- the ONLY reason to stay here: it's cheap. Other than that, utter rubbish. I stayed in Chiang Mai an extra 2 nights, and was GLAD to move hotel to 'Rich Lanna House' - after this rubbish, RLH was SUPERB!! Also, bathroom cleanliness prior to entry was a bit lacking. I found several black hairs around the bathroom, and the place just felt 'oily' all the time. One to avoid!
