Customer service was top tier as soon as we walked in. We were greeted by staff with some yummy tea. We downloaded their app where you can schedule spa appointments, order room service, chat with the staff, submit requests, find suggested activities to do in the area, etc. The hotel itself was beautiful. Nice boutique style with sleek clean rooms.

We got a massage during our stay. It was a 90 min Thai massage and it was “Amazing”!!! The best massage I’ve ever had. Wed been doing a lot of walking and my entire body was tense from head to toe. After that massage I felt no pain. We ate breakfast twice and checked out their rooftop bar. Food and drinks were delicious.

The hotel is centrally located in old town, which was perfect for us. There’s temples near by, markets and lots of eateries. 10/10 highly recommend!!

Amazing hotel in heart of Old Town. Room was nice and spacious, with lovely pool area (when it stopped raining!). We particularly liked the ‘Anytime’ free breakfast option, so if you missed the buffet for any reason you could still get it brought to your room at any point during the day which was a lovely touch.

Great location!

Great location in Chiang Mai, within walking distance to the temples & a number of great bars & restaurants. The night market is also within walking distance. We had a pool access room which was great. The reason for 4 stars is the air conditioning in the room was exceptionally loud (so much so we couldn’t sleep with it on) & we found the bed / pillows were not as comfy as previous places we have stayed. I would recommend for the location & facilities & I would stay again.

This was one of our favorite properties we stayed at during our two week trip. Being able to walk right out from the hotel into the Sunday Walking Street was a dream, yet somehow still being protected from the busy sound of the night market. The staff was great, breakfast was tasty, pool was cold and clean, and our room even had a view of some temples. Such an amazing hotel to stay at!

Lovely hotel located in the centre of Chiang Mai old city.
You. A visit the entire city by walk and you have plenty of places for eating and drinking at 10min walk.
Our room was located at GF with direct access to the pool, which was e tra value. The pool is not that big but enough to chill yourself in the hot days, while you relax. The bar restaurant in the hotel is really good quality and with good offers on drinks as well. We didn’t enjoy the massage we got in the SPA, as it was not deep enough to our standards, but that is an extra service.

However the hotel itself is pretty old and it needs Renovation . The room is pretty small. There are condition was making a lot of noises during the night timing and it wasn’t very cool.

Had a great stay at U Chiang Mai. It’s a beautiful hotel, rooms are very nice, pool, gym and spa are great and we very much enjoyed the breakfast and restaurant food at the hotel. Location is very central with walking distance to several temples but taxi or tuk tuk is needed as all temples and sightseeing sights are not in the center. Would’ve liked to get some recommendations from staff as it isn’t always easy to know what are ‘must sees’ as a tourist but overall strongly recommend to stay here in Chiang Mai!

Great location in old town Chaing Mai. Open, airy lobby. Great breakfast was included daily. Staff were very helpful and friendly my. Room was nice and comfortable. Some rooms have access to the pool from their balconies. Sunday market right in front of hotel was a lot of fun. If I were to go back I would stay there again.

U Chiang Mai is a quaint little hotel in the heart of the old city. We really enjoyed staying here. It was super quiet, comfortable, clean and had all the amenities that we needed. The night market runs right by the hotel which was super convenient. Highly recommend staying here if your in Chiang Mai, you won’t regret it.

Room was nice. Bathrooms had no counters by sink to put toiletries or hair dryer/curling iron. Bathrooms had gray/purple paint and very little lighting making it hard to get ready. No mirrors in the room to use, just the one in the dark bathroom. Rooftop bar is only for young people to sit on the floor on cushions--no tables and chairs. Staff very friendly and attentive--especially in the restaurant. Nice that they offered bikes and a bike tour free of charge. Construction/drilling going on out in the street in front of the hotel the whole time we were there, very loud.

Chiang Mai recommendation

This is an excellent small hotel in the old town of Chiang Mai. The staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable. Value for money was exceptional. The only issue is that the street in front of the hotel is undergoing significant construction so access by car is currently a bit of a challenge. Breakfast buffet was included and had a lot of options. We would stay here again.

Perfect Oasis in Central Chiang Mai

Location was perfect! Oasis in the heart of it all! Room was gorgeous, large and so comfortable. Included breakfast and service during amazing. Only down side was they would not let me extend my check out by 30 minutes. Had a tour and would have been nice to be able to come back to room, clean up a bit and change.

This is right in the middle of the old city, many restaurants, bars, attractions are within walking distance. The room is comfotable and their breakfast service is good, as is the service throughout the hotel.
The rooftop bar has excellent cocktails (and a nice happy hour deal) and the food is also good. Recommended if you want to be in the old city.

Excellent location, great facilities courteous and accommodating staff. Decent size tastefully decorated, well equipped rooms with many amenities such as mini fridge with daily replenished refreshments. Bathroom featured both large bathtub and small rain shower. Unfortunately there are no elevators so it’s a bit of a climb if your room is on the top floor. Some rooms face noisy street, especially busy and loud on weekends where May local bars offer live music. Knowing that we would be traveling 20 hours we requested a quiet room but was checked into a room right next to a bar that featured night live entertainment. When I asked for a quiet room in interior building I was offered either a smaller room (a downgrade) or a room on the top floor (no elevator). Knowing that we were dissatisfied with both choices front desk manager Mr. Pho tried to rectify the situation by offering us complimentary spa service. The spa treatments offered in U Chiang Mai were excellent. So was complimentary breakfast offered daily for all guests. U Chiang Mai offers also free bike rental, outdoor pool and a gym which we didn’t utilize. Overall, if you’re looking for a centrally located, comfortable accommodation in the Old town you will not be disappointed. Just if you value your sleep and come from vastly different time zone make sure you get a room overlooking the courtyard on a first or w second floor to avoid the hike.

U Chiang Mai was merely 10 minutes taxi ride from the airport and it is located right in the downtown, excellent location. Staff cannot do enough for you and always greet us in such enthusiasm and smiles. Great check-in with choice of bath soap and a cold welcome bael juice. The whole building is so beautiful and the sound of the swimming pool is so soothing. When we entered the room, clean, decor is well thought of, such a lovely spacious room. Breakfast is buffet style with a menu to choose from lots of choices, we were spoilt with choices. Freshly made booster juices are unreal. Staff are super friendly, you can also choose to eat anywhere with no extra cost. Stepping outside, we are in the middle of everything, massage places, food, street food, temple, tour operator. Wow, I will definitely return if I visited Chiang Mai again, we thank you everyone for your attentiveness. We had a lovely stay xx

We spent part 2 of our honeymoon to Thailand in Chiang Mai. We booked the U Chiang Mai based off location and reviews. The service was excellent and the breakfast was tasty. When we arrived on 1/23/23 we were greeted and given a tour of the hotel. Then we were brought up to our room and shown the functionality of the room. There was a gentleman who was there the morning of who greeted us and gave us the tour. I’m not too sure of his name but he was very nice and welcoming.

The lady at the front desk took her time and drew a map for us of where to dine and some good spa recommendations. The hotel is centrally located within the historic district. There’s a good amount of places to visit since the hotel is right in the middle of everything. On our departure date, the hotel had prepared a to go breakfast box at 5am for us, it was very thoughtful. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend if you plan on visiting Chiang Mai.

We had a very relaxing stay at U Chiang Mai. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. They gave us good recommendations and arranged activities and day trips on request.

The location is incredible - in the heart of old city and within walking distance to several sights. On our last night the Weekend Night Market was right in front of the hotel!

The room was very comfy and quiet. We were in the King Suite on the high floor - so we had a great view but surprisingly none of the street noise.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

Best Spa in Chiang Mai!

Exploring Chiang Mai was really easy because we stayed at the U Chiang Mai. This is located in the city center and is very walkable to many temples nearby. We could walk to any city gate and also local restaurants. Hands down best massage we got in Thailand. The hotel's spa is the best we've been to and would travel to Chiang Mai just for the spa experience again. Room was always cleaned and staff was very accommodating.
